Since moving to Riverview, we have tried 3 different vets. The first two, who shall remain nameless, were just not up to par. We never got a good feeling and the experiences were below average. Decided to try FAC and loved it! Dr. Smith was great, took us through possible reasons for our dog's limp and options best for the dog, and our pocket book. Dr. Rivera is absolutely incredible! I make an hour drive to see him and his staff and will continue to go to him as long as I'm in Florida. He treats my pets as if they were his own children. My German Shepherd had a sudden severe allergic reaction to whatever. Being new to the area, I didn't have a vet. I called several. They all told me they close at 6 so I should take her to the emergency ER Vet. Well, I made that call to Fish Hawk Animal Clinic. They said "No problem, bring her in". I couldn't believe my ears. Through heavy traffic, I made it there to open doors. They took her right in. She was thoroughly examined and treated. As a breeder of GSD'S, we have dealt with several veterinarians throughout the years. Some really good and some really bad. Dr Rivera is one of the best I've ever seen! One of the best vets I have ever been to. I have used them for urgent situations, shots and also for euthanasia. I really love the doctors as well as all of the staff, they truly love the animals and are a pleasure to work with. It is so hard having to put a pet down but they prayed with me, watched over my animals and made it as easy as possible. I would go to them for anything and trust them immensely! Read Less

I have been to several vet clinics over the years in the area yet by far, Fishhawk Animal Clinic run by Dr. Rivera has been my favorite place. I have not met such a loving and caring staff who have been so attentive to our numerous pets who have had quite a bit of medical issues. Dr. Rivera and his staff absolutely blew me away with the way they treated both me and my beloved feline friend. Dr. Rivera took the time to show and even explain to me everything from the x-rays, how to administer the medicine prescribed, what to expect, and signs of potential complications to watch out for. This clinic currently located @ 3212 Lithia Pinecrest Road (the yellow page website obviously is not very to date!), (which is moving in the last week of August 2008 to Fish Hawk Blvd @ the Osprey Ridge light) is a great place to take your pet. The veterinarian, Dr. Raul A. Rivera is very intelligent, caring, compasionate, and truely loves his patients and clients as if they were his family. Dr. Rivera also has a very impressive staff that show, through every interaction, why they do what they do! Anyone looking for a veterinary clinic where his/her pets will get the best care should look no further, because at this clinic you and your pets will not only find a vet, but a home!
