My husband brought our cat here after he was seen at the emergency vet. The vet that we saw here was very rude. She insisted that we put our cat on an expensive diet for a condition that he doesn't even have. She ignored me when I explained his history and why that needs to be addressed and taken care of first. She said I was "jumping the gun" to treat him for the condition that the SPCA diagnosed him with months ago. I will not bring my cat back here again. Love this place, they really know how to take care of your fur babies.  Recently we needed to have a bump taken off our doggies nose... you can't even tell he had 4 stitches, no scar.  A few months ago he had his regular shots and was in a bit of pain, they were quick to respond and get him some relief(even on a Saturday).  Thank you for caring for our babies as much as we do! I have brought my 4 dogs here for the past 4 years. The vet and her staff are great. I usually never have a long wait which I appreciate. Dr. Penteck is great at a explaining everything to me and answering all questions. I have big dogs and small dogs, old dogs and puppies and she is great with them all. I had to put my first dog down with her due to old age and I greatly appreciated how quickly and dignified they did it. We have brought our dogs here for 5 years. They have received excellent care for sicknesses and for boarding. The dogs love to go, and the people there are great with them. (FYI, Markham Woods is a lot better than Luv 'n Care, IMO, which I took my dogs to a few times when we first moved to the area. Luv 'n Care kept wanting more follow-ups which I felt were unnecessary and just for more money. Markham Woods has never done that to us.) Read Less

He's now 14 1/2 years old and they still take the most amazing care of him. I credit them with his longevity. My dog and I love it here.  The staff is super friendly and the doctor is fantastic!  Dr. Pentek actually sits on the floor with the animals and makes follow-up calls herself.I've always been able to get an appointment when needed and they have always diagnosed the problem the first time.I recommend them to everyone.  My dog is actually excited to go there. I used this animal  hospital because my dog was very sick.  This vet, Dr Pentek,  is supposed to be a great vet who works with Greyhounds and even has one herself.  Dr. Pentek put my dog on an antibiotic without there being a diagnosis which further sickened my dog. This vet claims to have offered me a test to learn the dogs diagnosis but this is false.  This vet was clearly not interested in my dogs health but instead wanted to continue my spending $200 each visit.   This vets husband, who is also the office manager, argued with me and was very unprofessional when I called him to voice my concern that my dog was nearly fatal.  Instead of making efforts to work with me to assist my dog he was more concerned with declaring that "his wife" is not a liar when I told him she never offered me a test to check for diagnosis.  She apparantly falsified her notes. He apologized but sadly thereafter never made attempts to check my dog who way dying.  I was willing to pay the 90 dollars to do blood work to determine my dogs condition but they were wanting to charge me an additional visit fee on top of that but I had just been in 6 days before.  I was forced to bring my dog to another vet who did the proper bloodwork for free and determined that my dog did not have what this vet thought she had. Unfortunately, it was too late and whatever my dog had had already ravaged her body.   My dog died that weekend. I will never know what my dog died of because this vet made no efforts to determine such. After my dog died I went to this Markham Woods Animal Hospital and asked for my dogs notes.  The claimed that they do not give out the notes that the Dr. handwrites. They were refusing to give them to me.  After I declared that it is every petowners right to have them, the vets husband came out and made copies.  Oddly enough, they could not find my file as it was not with the regular files.  Before I left, the vets husband asked me how my dog was doing.  I told him she was dead and all he said was "sorry".  My beautiful dog is now deceased.
