I have never had a bad experience here. My animals and I are all treated with respect and genuine care as soon as we walk through the door. I have gone there since we moved here in 2014. We have gone for vaccines, urinalysis, and laceration on pad. Every vet I have ever been to is a little pricey. I don't think they are outrageous in pricing. What a bizarre experience!  I moved to Loxahatchee a year ago but kept going to my favorite vet back home in Ft Lauderdale.  My dog became very sick recently and I hadn't been to my vet for several months.  Due to the critical nature of her illness I wanted to go to a hospital immediately.  My dog was obviously dying and not able to stand up.  She was lethargic and really out if it.  The doctor was focused solely on her teeth and not even attentive to her overall condition.  He then asked ME to take her out back and try to collect a urine sample.  In utter disbelief I took my dog outside.  She began seizing.  I freaked out.  I held her and went back inside to tell the doctor what had happened and that I just wanted to leave.  He said I still owed for the office visit before I could leave.  After paying a piddly amount I got in my car and drove to Ft Lauderdale.  NEVER AGAIN will I go back to this pathetic hospital or recommend it.  Disgusting!! I have been going to this vet for 15 years. He has always been good to my animals and his pricing is fair. I have also found that the other people that work in his office are helpful and friendly. We just moved here from Connecticut and had to get our cat heart worm medication so we went to the closest place. After our experiences in Connecticut we were very happy to find a veterinarian who took the time to make our cat feel at home and comforted. No "extra tests" just to be sure or surly office staff just interested in your money and you are done get out. The doctor took the time to explain what he was doing and why. He handled our cat gently and for the first time our cat didn't seem to mind being handled by someone else. I highly recommend Acreage Animal Hospital! Read Less

Acreage Animal Hospital was absolutely amazing. My family and I wouldn't have traded where we brought our pup for anything. They called us every single night to keep us informed with everything that was going on. They treated our dog like their own. That's one thing we loved about them, we knew they loved our dog as much as we did. Unfortunately we lost our dog Speck yesterday morning. They were so sensitive about the situation. My family and the hospital did everything we could've possibly done to save him. We all knew that. We miss him so much. But knowing he passed peacefully at such a sweet place surrounded by such great people makes us very relieved. Thank you so much Acreage Animal Hospital. The staff are friendly, but they are very expensive and do not inform clients of costs before proceeding. I went in yesterday to give my dog a rabies shot and, since the sign on the front desk says $15 for rabies, I was surprised that my bill was $46 (and that was WITH a discount). They failed to inform me that an exam was required. Dr. Abed's exam is literally only checking my dog's teeth and listening to his heart. It's ridiculous! If an exam is required with a rabies vaccination, they need to let clients know because their signs are misleading. I'm very upset. Read Less

I have gone to this veterinarian for years. He has always been pleasant. Today however, was a different story. I was showing concern for my small Chihuahua when I asked him how he would be knocking him out to perform a procedure. Dr. Abed became very nasty and defensive and said, "if you don't want me to touch him I won't even touch him and you can just leave." I will not be going back to this vet again.Read Less

My family and I had the honor and privilege to be neighbors with the Abed family in Wellington when we first moved to Florida back in 2001. The story I would love to share is when I was at the animal hospital with my dog and Dr. Abed when a man came in with an injured dog. Sadly the dog needed to be put to sleep and when the man heard what the modest fee for this was, went to pick up his dog muttering he would do it himself in some horrible manner. Well Dr. Abed told him to leave the dog and he would take care of it for no charge. The man left and even more amazingly, Dr. Abed said a prayer over the dog before administering the shot. You never know what you're going to get when going to a new animal hospital, but as soon as I walked into Acreage I knew my pet would be in good hands. The staff is so friendly and the doctors are very knowledgable. My pet felt right at home and had none of the normal anxieties that he usually has at the vet. First of all... I made an appt. for my two dogs to get the medication for an ear infection on one, and to get a medicated shampoo for dry skin for the other. This was explained to the vet while making the appt. My apt was at 4:15pm and I waited 45 minutes before someone came in to look at my dogs. I feed both my dogs all natural organic food, according to the guy who was looking over my dogs, Purina is a better choice. (Really??? You have got to be kidding) Obviously they have some sort of kick back for pushing that garbage seeing that the office was packed with bags of Purina. Now... I was asked if they were on flea and tick control... I replied yes, I have them on Front Line. He suggested I use whatever brand (pill form)... that it was better than Front Line. Once again... Really??? After looking over my one dog, he told me that he had flea bites on his rear quarter, LOL now I am really wondering if this guy knows what he is talking about. Neither of my dogs have fleas and I can guarantee you this. He was going to shave my dogs ears, (a Cavalier King Charles... Those ears are the breeds best feature, and you are going to shave them lol)... I received the estimate for what the antibiotic and shampoo was going to cost... $350!!! I scooped up both my dogs and headed out. I was followed by the guy who said I had to come back to pay for the examination!!! $65 for the exam to tell me exactly what I told you on the phone when I made the appt!!! This is not a place that you want to take your dogs or any animal for that matter. It is all about business and pushing product, not about actually caring for animals and doing the right thing. This place is extremely expensive. They charged us over $100 to put a stray kitten to sleep because she was suffering. I gave them an opportunity to rectify the situation and they ignored my attempts. If you cannot help out a stray, you are not a very good veterinarian. Read Less

After 5 labs I consider myself a good judge of vets. This clinic was clean, professional and offered routine dental cleaning and annual shots at an excellent price. The staff was caring and friendly. The facility clean and orderly. My 2yr old lab got an ultrasonic teeth cleaning and polishing that was superb! I'd recommend Acreage Animal Hospital to anyone seeking, at a minimum, routine dog care. I can't speak about advance work since my lab is 2yrs old and in excellent health. Read Less
