Dr. Jordan and her staff are amazing. They have taken such great care of our babies. We actually called with an emergency and she fit us in same day when her schedule was completely booked and we were seen immediately. She also took the time to go over everything and answer all of our questions without rushing us at all. I took my sister's 18 year old dog here over the weekend to have her euthanized as she was in a lot of pain, starting congestive heart failure and could not breath. Dr Nix and Josh were professional, compassionate, and just amazing in how they handled the entire situation. My overall rating is ★★ (2 stars) My family has been using this veterinary service for over 30 years, with no issues(I remember taking our dogs her as a child). As an adult I was a previous customer of this vet, but transferred due to the rotation of doctors here. Dr Jordan and Dr Nix are good veterinarians and Josh is an amazing tech, but sometimes they are not the staff that are working. Esteban killed my fur baby, not only did she gave me 3 diagnosis but she also kept on saying in 3-4 different ways let me prepare you for the worst BUT SHE SHOULD BE FINE AFTER, 3hrs after taking her in my cat passed away. Do not let Kaylie take care of your cat(i think that's the name of the vet tech) she looked like she didn't want to be there. The other vet tech needed to give my cat 2 shots Jessica Bedard kept on poking her more then 4x because the other vet tech couldn't hold properly a 7month old cat. ☆☆☆ATTENTION PEOPLE READ BEFORE YOU GO HERE AND REGRET GOING.☆☆☆ My problem with this place you should be able to take responsibility and we as customer who bring our fur babies here to this place should be able to trust the Veterinarian and tech. I took my cat here September 2, 2017 at 10am. Two months before this visit Dr Nix and Josh(HE WAS KIND AND GREAT WITH MY BABY) took good care of my cat, Dr Nix diagnosed my cat with asthma/allergies. Dr gave her a shot and a few day later she was back as her regular self. This day in particular I brought her to see Dr Lissette R. Esteban because my cat's breathing issue had returned. So the technician Jessica Bedard just had a bad attitude from the start and the other tech Kaylie (I think that's her name) looked scared and look like she didn't want to spend her Saturday working. Dr Esteban right of the bat started by "I don't like what I see" she also gave me 3 diagnosis which it could be cancer, heart murmur or just asthma. She decide that the best thing to do was to give her a shot of depo and some antibiotics just incase if she had an infection going on and she also wrote me a prescription. She also constantly repeated to me "now I have to warned you and prepare you for the worst" meaning she might not make it? She repeated the same thing about 4-6 times just in different ways to the point that she made me tear up. Dr also gave me a card of an emergency clinic just incase if things got worst during labor day weekend she said to take her there. Her breathing was bad before she was given her shots, after leaving this place she was breathing out of her mouth none stop and fast.(I also have 2 videos as proof on my phone which are time stamped before shots and after.)The tech's who gave my cat the shot Jessica she kept on injecting her because the other tech couldn't hold my cat down properly. I took my cat home and she continued to breath out her mouth fast, 3 hours after her appointment she passed away. If Dr Esteban knew that she wasn't going to make it she should of at least let us spend the last few hours with her in peace. She should of just said hey don't waste your money on giving her shorts spend it on getting her cremated if it was to happen, they end up charging me. That same day I had to spend to get her cremated. I could tell that my cat was in pain after giving her those injections. This place is not trust worthy. Read Less

I've been going to Maitland Vet for several years. I've always felt like Dr. Jordan and her staff care for my pets, particularly my little chihuahua, China. I recently had to say goodbye to China due to advanced stage kidney disease, and the staff was extremely supportive and sensitive throughout the entire process. 1/4 of the staff is lovely, and 3/4 of the staff are rude and totally unprofessional. Dr. Jordan is part of the latter group. Staff is awful and unprofessional. The lack of respect is present all the time. I had a last minute travel outside the country and I left my dog in that place since I couldn't find anyone else to take care of him. The day I came back from my trip I called to see if they could wait for me 10 minutes before they close the place to pickup my dog, the guy doing the closing that day didn't want to wait so I had to pickup my dog on the next day (Had to pay an extra day). When I picked up my dog the next day he had a big scratch on his nose and when I asked them about it, they told me he did that to himself with a towel... They never returned the toy of my , every time I called they kept telling me that they were looking for it. Second time my dog was there he came out with fleas... I don't understand how it's possible Dr. Jordan let their staff do whatever they want with their clients. Let me tell you something. I have never experienced such horrible treatment than I did from this vet today. We found my cat laying under our tv completely lethargic. Not moving, harsh breathing. So we called Maitland vet, who we have been going to for over 10 years, and begged and pleaded with them to see him and they refused and said they were too busy and that they close at 1 so they can't. We still begged this lady and she kept refusing. So we called the nearest vet "Westmonte Animal Clinic" and they told us to bring him in immediately. So we did, a vet who has never even seen my cat before. The vet saw him immediately and came up with a plan to help him. He is now on in surgery, extremely close to not making it. I will never go to Maitland vet again, and neither will my entire family. I'm going to school to be a vet and I would NEVER even think of turning a sick animal away, I don't care how booked I am or how long I have to stay. That is absolutely horrible and gut wrenching. I do not recommend them at all. They don't even deserve the 1 star. Read Less

I found my cat very lethargic when I woke. I have been w/ Maitland Vet for over 8 years. I called to see if they would take him in because I knew something was not right. The person who answered the phone told me they could not see him because they were booked. I pleaded with her telling her he is so sick he needs help. Again she told me no that they could not accommodate me. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN. A vet is suppose to help animals. They had no compassion or sympathy for what we were dealing with. Poor service...Dr Jordan did blood work on my dog without a reason why... Did not tell me the cost. Then she charged me for a rabies tag I already have from another doctor... She never resolved the issue I came in for. My bill totaled $300 for random procedures... Now wants to charge me an additional $40 to bring him back in to re evaluate a rash which she should have addressed in the first place. Read Less

I too would agree that Dr. Jordan is an excellent vet. She is extremely intelligent, very cost conscious, and a great diagnostician.   I've sent many people to her, all with glowing responses back.  The only downside is that her hours are not as late as other vets in the area, and yes, sometimes her staff is not as administratively capable as others, BUT if you were to go to Affiliated Veterinary Specialists (also in Maitland), you'll pay 2x-3x the price and get half the service. We have been going to Maitland vet for several years. Always get good care for our fur babies. One negative is coming in for a nail trim and expecting the usual charge but to be asked for double because one of our dogs needed a muzzle and two people. If a policy changes please inform the customer upon arrival especially if you know the dog will need this kind of treatment.n Read Less

This vet help my family with our dogs tumors . They took me right in every time I had any worries about him, even without an appointment to help me feel better about what was going on. And when it was time to put him down they were so great and was there for every step of the way. Also set us a hand written card for the lose of our dog. What vet does that. I have been taking my dog to Maitland Vet Clinic for 2 years now and am very pleased with the service. My dog is elderly and somewhat skittish and the staff there does a wonderful job keeping her calm in the way they handle her. Dr. Jordan is competent and caring and takes good care of my pooch. Barbara, the groomer, does a wonderful job with her as well. It's in an easy to find location and I'm able to get appointments fairly quickly. They are open on Saturdays, which I appreciate as well.Read Less

Update, Oct 2015: After reading Dr. Jordan's response saying that she is back and the office staff has changed, I am hopeful. Although I already found another veterinarian that I really trust, I wouldn't hesitate to return if needed. She was always GREAT, it was just the incompetence of the interim vet's and office staff that really got to me.---------------------------11/2014Pros: Dr Jordan is really nice and knowledgeable.Cons: Her staff sucks. I have had the same problems as the other reviewers in that I paid for an office visit, expected the medications to be filled by 1800petmeds and the prescription was cancelled and it took many calls to the front desk staff to determine the problem (they don't approve other pharmacies orders, without a written prescription (which is an extra $5), as they don't want to be "reliable" for it - yes, I was really told that). Then I asked to talk with a supervisor, a tech was put on the phone, he had horrible customer service skills and basically told me (in a rude manner) all the things that should have been communicated at the last visit - my dog is coming up for his vaccines in 1 month, the heartworm prescription can only be given for 1 month without a new prescription. Now why wasn't I told this at the beginning?!? It is 1 month since the last visit and I am still without medications for my dog due to the incompetence of the office staff. Not to mention that the vet who is working in her absence recommended homeopathic medications (at my request) and after looking them up found that many reviewers said they were toxic and some just ineffective. arrived at 0945 for my 1000 appointment for shots....was told they were running behind because of an emergency...said fine.....shown to treatment room at 1030....at 1040 informed receptionist we needed more paper towels as one of my pets had messed on the floor and I had cleaned it up...she said would take care of it right away....(did not)....at 1100 I walked out of the treatment room to inform the receptionist I was leaving....my time is worth something too.....no explanation as to why I was not seen....no check to say the vet would be right in....nothing....and no call all day to apologize and try to reschedule...never offered....back to my ole vet...may be a little more expensive, but they sure are a lot more professional.....not at all impressed in the over a year we went to MVC...... I didnt you were on Facebook!! I absolutely recommend Maitland Veterinary Clinic. Dr Jordan has been my pets vet for about 7 years. She and her staff are amazing!! They are highly trained individuals who greet you with a smile, always. I have had individuals recommend veterinarians who are closer to where I live and I let them know it does not matter to me.
