They saved my Kaiser's life! After receiving the wrong diagnosis at my regular vet I took him here fora second opinion as he was going down hill quickly. They quickly told me what I had suspected, that it was an intestinal blockage. The other vet did not listen when I told her and sent him home with antibiotics. Thankfully I was recently told about Margate animal hospital or Kaiser would be dead. I'm switching here permanently. It may be a long drive for me but it's worth it! Everyone is so friendly helpful and knowledgeable. Dr. Berrios even gave me his personal cell in case I was worried about anything after the surgery and alwaysgot back to me quickly. I would highly recommend Margate Animal Hospital. The office staff was so nice, kind and cared about my pet. They offered great service, met with the Vet and he listened and understood that I haven't as been great on keeping up with appointments. Please I don't want this to happen to nobody else do not take your dog to this hospital they killed my dog my dog Bruno was a very healthy dog, he had a broken ligament on his right leg I took him for x-ray doctor told me that he may have cancer the x-ray shows  a bone defects so the doctor told me to do a biopsy just to be sure that it wasn't cancer so the doctor did the surgery One hour later doctor called me and tells me that my dog was in recovery 30 minutes later Doctor called me that my dog got a heart attack and he died so I'm very confused at this moment I know it was a malpractice because when my family went to see him he was in a cage with no oxygen and nobody attending him what kind of hospital is this me and my family we are very hurt he was Our baby and he took him away from us please read this I don't want this to happen to nobody else if anybody can give me a advice please let me know what can I do I really want to sue this place, my email is [email protected] Read Less

Working in Veterinary medicine, we are faced with diagnostic challenges everyday. When an Animal is presented with symptoms that include vomiting and bloody diarrhea there are numerous life threatening conditions that could cause these symptoms. It would be unethical for a veterinarian to NOT recommend diagnostic testing and supportive care. We are thankful that Mr. George agreed to allow diagnostic testing at another hospital, which was the only way to determine that the pet had intestinal parasites, and that his pet is ok. Read Less

I was really shocked when i was told that it would cost my pet a total of $ 230.00 plus tax to have her nails clipped.Normally it would be $16.00 to trim.But she has to be sedated. I shopped around and called a vet where i use to bring my German Shepard to. The cost would be $45.00 for sedation,and $9.00 to trim.From $230.00 plus tax to $51.00 plus tax is so,so great.Come on Margate Animal Hospital.Your prices are just too $$$HIGH$$$. When you live on S.S. i have to make ends meet.I'm sure i'm gonna hear from people out their."If you can't afford a Vet,then you shouldn't have a pet."NO,It's just that VET..So,thank GOD their are VETS out there that have reasonable prices,that people can afford.Yes the staff there is great.I'm not complaining about that.The staff is very professional.It's your PRICES that need to come down.If you don't believe me.Try shopping around. WORST PLACE EVER ! it's funny how no matter what you call about they always tell you you need to bring the dog in , (it's a $40 visit) Sometimes it's ok to help clients over the phone and not freak them out over nothing , ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY !!!!!!! simple as that But when you're a vet it should be all about the pets !!!! Horrible people I am SO glad I found a new vet who actually care about my dog ! Btw my dog got a rabies shot there and threw up everywhere (he was allergic to it according to the vet there , EVEN THO HE HAD IT BEFORE AND WAS FINE) That was my first red flag! Wouldn't recommend this vet, took my dog because he had been throwing up and not eating. Vet later came back telling me he had pancreatitis and gave me a 1700 dollar estimate for a bunch of random shots and a pancreatitis test. Paid the copay, went to the coral springs animal hospital, turned out he had hookworm. Don't think they know what they're doing. Read Less

I started taking my yorkie, Pepper, to Margate Hospital this year. On her i first visit, I was sort of apprehensive because she was to be spayed and she reacted negatively every time I took to her previous vet. When I picked her up after her procedure, she was happy & friendly with the staff. Since then, when I have boarded her, she is excited to see her "vet family" when she has a visit. The staff and the doctor is wonderful with her. The. Office and where the dogs are boarded is clean & bright. I highly recommend this vet . Read Less

We recently moved to Jacksonville. I had to look up their phone number because I need them to call in a prescription dog food for me. Thought I'd leave a review while I was at it... We love this vet! They are a lot cheaper than the "posh" vets in the area. The ladies up front are always nice on the phone and in person. Last time we went in, our dog was bleeding from the bum area. They immediately got us in. I am completely animal stupid, so when the vet said she had a gland open up, I had a lot of questions. Every question I had he answered, plus he showed me and my kids an anatomical picture to help us better understand. He also went over how to prevent similar future problems. Oh and they also match prices on flea, tick, and heart worm meds. Sad to be leaving our little gem vet office in Margate.Read Less

Took my son's dog 12yrs old today, she has been vomitting,  Dr comes in tells me she's dehydrated and  her breathing is not good. Leaves send girl back with an estimate  for almost $1300...very uncaring I felt like I was at a car lot. No compassion. we always went to this clinic and the dogs never wanted to go in the back which was a red flag for me to begin with.. anyway I had a lab puppy only about a year old and he started to get sick.. they told me it was all these different things making me pay for many different thigns and he continued to get worse. I was recommended a different vet and immediately they said my pup had LUKEMIA.. they informed me that margate had it written on paper and knew the whole time! I was livid. It was too late for my baby to live and he had to be put down :( if Margate would of told me sooner I could of had my pup still today! I would not trust this place. I had a stray Bengal taken there and was told he was positive for feline leukemia but they were very shady about it. One told me he was negative and later told they did not wait long enough and he was faint positive. What is faint positive? Then told me I should make a choice to have him put down to avoid health issues and infections to other cats. The cat is very healthy. Took him home and made an appointment at another place to have blood sent to lab for testing and the result was negative. Either this place was trying to take advantage of me or the test they performed is not accurate. Be careful and get a second opinion for anything at this place! I was told it is rare that the in office tests to be inaccurate. I suppose it is possible but get another test at another place! Read Less

Our silkie terrier had an badly broken nail on her front foot and we needed proffessional help really fast... We wanted someone local to us but also had a good rating in the yellowpages.com.We came across Margate Animal Hospital and knew that they had been at this location for many, many years. We got an appointment and took her in. We knew that she had to be sedated to remove the nail but also in the exam we were showed that she really need her teeth cleaned and possibly need 2 extractions done. After discussion with Dr Braun and sedating our 9 lb baby to do the work and knew of the stress on her body to have the teeth done later we all agreed to have it all done at the same time.
