2 stars for the vets as they are great. Unfortunately the customer service and communication from the older receptionists is slim to none. They will gladly take your money but will not great you kindly or be professional on the phone. Rude in my opinion. I dropped my dog Off at 10 am and was told surgery was at 2 pm, I called at 515 and was told he hadn't gone in yet. I called back 30 minutes later and stated that hi I just called for my dog Monty 30 minutes ago, the receptionist stated "no that was 15 minutes ago sweetie". Never have I been talked to before like that, I then asked what was going on with my dogs surgery, she stated she's not in the surgery room and she's only a receptionist she doesn't know. I ended up picking him up at close: 9 pm. I understand things change but there is a big lack of communication and kindness from the front desk which I will never go back for. Then upon picking him up nobody mentions anything. I spent almost $1,400 in two weeks and treated like crap from these ladies. will spend my money elsewhere.

We brought our cat Sofia to Pets and Vets Animal Clinic because of a chipped tooth. The veterinarian, who is the head surgeon there, Dr. Javier examined our kitty and mentioned that the tooth should be taken out. He scheduled her for surgery a week later. He also took her blood for analysis to make sure she is healthy enough for surgery. To my surprise (even before the blood results were in) he started her on a round of heavy duty antibiotics called Clyndamicyn that very night. He said that the antibiotics need to be in her system before surgery. 5 days into the drug being in her system she started having diarrhea and vomiting. She wasn't holding any food or water at all. We took her back to the vets office and she was given a shot for diarrhea and pills for vomiting that worked ok until they wore off. 3 days later the diarrhea and vomiting came back. Again we're back at the office to receive another anti-vomit shot (which is really painful to a cat) and more anti-diarrhea pills. We were very concerned by then and asked why this was happening and even consulted another vet later on, who told us that her tooth did not actually need surgery or antibiotics. It was unfortunately too late, she already had a bad reaction to the antibiotics. We saw our cat fading away and were desperate to help her. In desperation we ended up asking my brother, who is a human medical doctor in Europe what to do. After telling him that she was given a drug called Clyndamicyn he literally laughed and mentioned that these are typical side effects and that what she now has is Colitis which is inflammation of the colon in the entire digestive tract.. He said that no one prescribes this drug in Europe anymore because it gives Colitis both to humans and animals. He said that the anti-vomit and the anti-diarrhea medication would not help. The only drug that would heal her is a drug called Metronidazole but there still was a 50/50 chance that she will not make it. We decided to listen to my brother and get Metronidazole. Sofia was not getting better and we could tell she was in her last days. She started sitting under the cabinet where she never sat before and looking lifeless. Once we knew which medication she needed we did go back and spoke to the other veterinarian at Pets and Vets who was very patient and listened to all of our questions. We asked for a prescription for Metronidazole and we purchased it and gave it to Sofia on the same day. It worked. Thankfully 3 days into the new medication her appetite returned and the diarrhea improved and eventually stopped. My brother told us that we were very lucky that the first round of Metronidazole worked and helped with the Colitis. It took me a long time to write this review because it was so upsetting and I didn't want to sound like I was just ranting in anger. It has been nagging me until this day and I felt I needed to share it with all pet owners who might visit this clinic or any other clinic for that matter. Please do your research and question everything. All and all Pets and Vets was a stressful, negative and eventually expensive experience that we learned a lot from. Before bringing our cat there we actually looked at the reviews for this clinic and they looked promising. Unfortunately it turned out nearly fatal. She was given a medication that gave her colitis and then they couldn't figure out that it was the medicine that made her sick. That's not very professional and it almost killed our cat. Also we were told that her tooth needed to be surgically extracted (with the usage of anesthesia) and now a year later that same tooth is fine and she eats comfortably. Thank God I thought to ask my brother, in desperation did my own research and consulted another vet. In summary I just want to say that you can't just trust the reviews. Question everything and go with your gut feeling. Your pet is precious.

I am an extreme dog/animal lover. I had been a long time advocate for Banfield figuring any insurance to cover your pet is better than none. However, when my American Bully got sick dropping in weight from 107lbs to 84lbs within 3 months, Banfield had no answers and just kept suggesting the same tests. In a moment of desperation for answers and few options w the bills draining us we turned to Instagram and social media to ask people for suggestions on alternate vet options. Another dog obsessed friend highly recommended Pets and Vets. To begin, their fees are fair and allow you to give your pet the treatment they need. You can immediately see the love and care that the doctors and assistants have to help the animals. In one visit we assessed a treatment plan and now on the third visit we are able to identify a partial blockage in his large intestines. Not only are we able to figure out what's going on with our gentle giant but we are also able to better afford the cost of treating him. If you own a pet I urge you to at least take the time to visit this clinic and see for yourself the quality treatment your furry buddy would receive. 4 thumbs up : including my toes for this one.

Javier was great the first time I went and so was the lady up front. I was so happy because this place was right next door, they have an online app they use and seemed really awesome all around. The second time I went, the other vet on staff handled my 3 pound Pomeranian so roughly. He grabbed her by the face and then tried to open her mouth without even warning me. So she gnarled at the vet, and goes you should train her better. Never before or after has she snapped or growled at a person or dog.Come to find out they didn't do the rabies vaccine they were supposed to that they scheduled and have no idea why. On my way out I asked for an estimate for the spay. The lady up front was very scattered and/or busy. She goes just call me when you get home. I called her a week later and she said I had to bring her back in for the estimate. Very confused, I go you told me to call back to get it over the phone and just saw my puppy a week ago.So I decided to get estimates elsewhere with places that value my time and are much more organized. When I called back to get the medical records today and ask why the rabies shot wasn't done, the lady was quick to accuse me to not come back to a follow up when she had the records in front of her. I laughed and I questioned if they did the rabies shot and just didn't record it. Javier was great, the administrative side needs some work and lost a customer.

They went to go check to see if they had the prescription dog food, and put us on hold for another 10 minutes only to tell us that they did not have it. We asked for a copy of the dog's prescription for the food and they would not provide it, and said they could not find the dog in there system, even though we have picked up food here over 6 times.

There's a few things you except when you take your pet to the vet. A nice welcome and manners are only happen once you go to the back. The receptionist was rude, and was an expert on nothing, but had an opinion on everything. We were told on the phone to come in within the next 30 minutes for a appointment, when we arrived we were informed that she never said we could come in today, but some time tomorrow? She then made it seem like she was doing a favor by letting us in today, when she promised us a visit 15 minutes prior. She made offensive jokes, but I'll let that pass as I blame it on her poor attitude. The vet assistant we saw was extremely nice and very helpful! She explained to us what was going to happen with our puppy and had a upbeat personality. The actual vet was even better! He put our puppy on medicine and explained why our pup wasn't feeling good. As this was happening the crazed front desk woman came in a few times to frantically fill the hand soap.I explained to the vet I left my card at home and could wait for my Wife to bring cash, or give my card number. He said reading off the card number to her was FINE. When I went up to pay I was informed that the doctor was in-fact wrong! And she was reluctant to take my information. Without my permission she took a picture of me, then shrugged and said "nope we're not going to get scammed". Excuse me? She was completely rude the entire time. The vet and the vet assistant were amazing tho.

My dog was diagnosed with heart failure last year and began losing weight. He then developed pancreatitis, stopped eating, lost more than 20% of his body weight, and just stopped being a dog. After a different vet refused to treat him, Dr. Andreu stepped in. He spent time with him, gave him fluids, and added kidney meds and pancreatic enzymes to his medication regimen and, after a couple of months, he has returned to his premorbid weight and is more lively than ever. I would recommend Dr. Andreu to anyone, especially if you have special needs dogs/pets.

Today was our second visit to Dr. Javier. He balanced a full room of patients, an emergency surgery and dedicated almost two hours of time to our little girl dealing with cardiac, pulmonary and mammary tumor issues. Answered every question, gave experienced and qualified advice and came up with a clear plan of action to, honestly, keep her alive and comfortable. He could've recommended a surgery that other doctors would have done in two seconds and hesitated with realistic expectations of survival. If this is not your first opinion guy - he should be you second opinion one. I'll be spending much more time with Dr. Javier as needed...

My furry baby and I have been coming to them for 2 1/2 yrs and have nothing but great visits (even when she was sick), awesome customer service from EVERYONE and (icing on the cake) best prices around! I'm impressed they do not push you for extra exams and extra medications etc. when problems arises. Very knowledgeable. They will recommend but will find the best deal/solutions.Let's be honest, I would do anything for my baby, but it can be costly. Pets & Vets works with you and wants the best for you and your baby. I appreciate that so much, they can be trusted!!!

Dr. Javier D. Andreu and Doctor Osvaldo Cardoso are brilliant professionals with real human touch to your pets. We've been patients in another major clinic before we visit Pets & Vets Animal Clinic to find out that vet service could be exceptional with very reasonable prices even for complicated surgery, not only regular treatment or vaccination. Also medical equipment is modern and used on regular basis.

This animal clinic is a life saver.. in so many ways. I have TWO one year old cats that I rescued from abandonment last August. I brought them to Dr. Andreu for the first time then and will be a customer for life. Dr. Andreu and his staff really gained my trust when my cat jumped off the balcony and broke his leg last Christmas. I was a mess and had no idea what to do. Dr. Andreu guided me and performed a flawless femoral head osteotomy to repair the leg. Absolutely zero complications and amazing work- within a month my cat was running around the house like nothing happened. They helped me out with a finance plan and they always offer me ways to save money. They are open extended hours, I can always get in the same or next day if I need an appointment, and they always make me feel welcome. The best vet ever. All I can say is THANK YOU!!

My 4 year old chihuahua mix mysteriously became paralyzed in his back legs (we think trauma from playing too rough with our other dog). I brought him here as a last minute thing because they were close to me AND open after 5pm. There waiting time is a little long but its so worth it. They stay open i believe until 9pm.. what vet do you know open that late, that wont charge you an outrageous after hour fee? I'll wait.. lol .... Im so happy i found dr Javier! Him and his staff are so pleasant and they really do care for the animals. Most vets you go to will add different tests and what not just to take your money but that is definitely not the case here.. I ABSOLUTELY recommend Dr. Andreu. I've been an animal rescuer for over 10 years and been to hundreds of vets during this time, but I've never met one as qualified, caring and giving as him. He's one of the last remaining vets who is seriously good at what he does and who truly cares about animals. I own an animal shelter and he has saved the life of 3 of my animals during the past year, going way above and beyond what I would have expected. As if that wasn't enough, he's charged a really fair price every time.
99.9% of the other vets I've met through the years are not just mediocre or downright lazy, but have also only been after the money. So finding a great vet, who also truly cares about each and every animal that comes through the door, is almost impossible to do.
I'm so grateful for having met Dr. Andreu and his team... Although I live an hour away from his clinic, the commute is absolutely worthwhile.

It boggles my mind that there is a bad review for Dr. Andreu. He is an incredible Vet and surgeon. He goes above and beyond, and regularly attends continuing education courses to improve and learn new things. He has performed surgery on my small dog (>5lbs) and did an incredible job (growth removal- you can barely see a scar). He also has put her under to clean her teeth and she is always extremely well taken care of.
What is even more amazing is that he is knowledgeable in natural remedies. As some medications may treat symptoms but are harsh on other organs like the liver shortening the animal’s life.
He really cares about his patients.
I used to love my previous vet, and when I moved I was nervous about finding one just as good. There was no need, he is the best vet I’ve taken my dog to.
His staff is also kind, attentive, and organized. The prices are fair, and they are honest.

My dogs and I love her. They really care about your animals and their prices are very reasonable. They have been very helpful in a problematic skin problem my poodle mix has suffered with for years. My foster Kitty had such bad gingivitis it was painful for him to eat. After getting an analysis from two other vets, I chose Pets and Vets. Dr Andreu handled my kitty w such expertise, I put my trust in him and his techs. The surgery was a total success. We went for follow-up visits when my kitty got steroid injections and lazor treatment, which resulted in speedy and thorough recovery, like magic! Two months later he can actually eat hard food again, which I was surprised being that his molars were removed. My foster Kitty he has plumped up to a nice healthy weight and eats with no pain now. It was a very successful procedure and we are very happy :-)

I have been an animal rescuer for almost 10 years in Miami Beach, therefore I feel obligated to speak up for the safety of the animals. Pets and Vets has been participating in the "free spay and neuter program" for our community cats. Unfortunately, I keep hearing horrible stories from my friends about botched surgeries where the cats either die or "almost die". Why is that Dr. Javier? I am trying to make sense why so many cats die from a routine surgery.Do you let your unqualified vet techs do the surgeries? Whatever the reason is, please don't think that we won't find out if our cats die or become ill. Only because they live on the streets, it doesn't mean we won't check on them. We treat and love them like our own pets. So I hope you will take this review seriously and "fix this problem".

Tango is a sweet cat that came around my friend's building every night to be fed, he had to be treated urgently because my friend noticed he wasn't able to eat so something was wrong. Tango was taken to Pets & Vets and had a full physical done, blood tests, he was treated for dermatitis, infections, fleas, worms, and had to have a tooth extraction as well. They took such good care of him during all that time. Tango is now healthy and he is in his new home with his new pet mommy. Thank you for doing so much for the community.

Came here for a benign tumor removal. My dog is a geriatric patient of doctor Andreu and it was important to know his health status prior the surgery. Doctor Andreu is a very meticulous vet. He has multiple certifications that he has adquiere to do special procedures including some orthopedics and he is extremely knowledgeable Fromm the most routine case to the most complex. He made sure by running the appropriate diagnostics that my old man was in acceptable health conditions for the surgical procedure. He was fast and efficient during the procedure and my dog recuperate my fast and without any complications. Max didn't even have a scar after his procedure. This vet offers cold laser therapy which helped my dog's healing at a faster pase. Laser therapy provides healing by decreasing inflammation and decreasing pain. They have now moved to a new location which is pretty close from their original corner on 71st street but this location is way more spacious. Dr. Andreu had to expand since now he will be providing other revivís which require more equipment and work space. Very happy to bring my dog here for veterinary services. All of the equipment is state of the art and the prices for the services cannot be beat. It is the most inexpensive and complete veterinary hospital in the state.

Dr Javier and Tanya are amazing. Not only are they very caring and kind, they are professional and thoughtful and very thorough. My dog, Benny is my best friend. We've been together for 13 years now, so needless to say, his safety and wellbeing are my priority.I was very nervous about him having anesthesia for a dental cleaning & tooth extractions he needed, and I was very emotional about the situation. Not only is Benny an older dog, he also has some behavioral problems. They were very sweet and understanding of Benny's quirks. When I brought Benny to Pet & Vets, they were so caring and understanding of my concerns & didn't make me feel bad for crying and being emotional about it. Dr. Javier took time to explain everything to me, and to reassure me that he would do everything to make sure Benny was taken care of. He did exactly that. He spent hours working on Benny's teeth (he ended up having to have most of them pulled), and the surgery went very well. Benny has fully recovered with no problems. I am beyond grateful for the wonderful Dr and staff at Pets & Vets and highly recommend them not only for their quality services, but for their kindness and compassion.

Besides the convenience of having the clinic around the corner from my house, the waiting time is minimal and the care and attention of Dr. Andreu and his staff makes you feel special. The prices are very reasonable and they always give you other options for the care of your loving pet. I take my own pets there and also feral cats and are either injured or to be spayed/neutered and the care they received is the same loving one.

Oh and not to mention this place is disgusting. I had to take my daughter to the bathroom and wow no words

I used to think this man was the best thing since sliced bread. He was so nice to my mother when her dog was so sick and when mine had an infection from his neuter surgery.So I thought of him as someone that loved my pet. But when I go to order heart worm medication for him, because he had just approved online ordering of prescription flea and tick meds, he decided to deny my prescription without giving me the decency of calling me to let me know why and what he may have needed from me. My baby has not even been a year since he was competed with his infancy. He just turned one, so to tell me that it is required to have a yearly test is a crock of crap if you don't bother to let me know that's what he needs. If you wanted to get money out me you should have asked me and reached out to let me know what you wanted. But instead you decided to discriminate against a transgender person and call me a fag and to get out because I was upset with how he and his office treated me and my baby. This is Miami Beach you don't get to discriminate against transgender people here. Not to mention, before I made the purchase of the meds I came to the office and his assistant told me it was not a problem. This is someone that has been with him for years. Sounds like to me all they wanted was for me to buy my medication from him and not online.Never trust these homophobic monsters with your family members. They don't care. I need a new vet that actually cares and not out to just rip you off and treat you like garbage.How about the lack of being a sanitary place...gross.

Javier, the doctor, is amazing.Thankfully I've never had to take my cat in for anything serious... Other than yearly Health exams and a few travel certificates...But every time I'm sitting in the waiting room entrance with some other people, I hear incredible stories about how Javier has saved/helped their pet in ways that other places could not. ( ok so the waiting room is tiny and you might have to wait a little bit past your scheduled appointment time so definitely don't go when you're pressed for time! But still totally worth it !!)Javier is extremely genuine and friendly and makes you feel like he actually cares about your pets well being. He doesn't rush the visit and answers any questions and/or concerns. Everything is very reasonably priced and he is very honest.I'm very grateful to have found this wonderful and convenient place.

Le amputaron la patita, le hicieron fecal, lo cuidaron 3 semanas, le curaron sus odos, le trataron parsitos intestinales y prcticamente por caridad. Soy veterinaria y con experiencia en el sector puedo decir que quedan pocas personas con un amor as por los animales, quienes realmente siente el dolor de un animal y hacen hasta lo imposible por verlo sano y feliz. It was my first time and I did not have an appointment and they quickly took me in after all of the appointments they had. Osvaldo was awesome my dog Bailey loooooveed him! He was very sweet, patient, and talked me through the examination he was doing before the doctor came in. The doctor Javier was amazing, he was very nice and explained everything in detail. He was honestly hands down the best doctor!!!!. Over all I recommend them 100000%

I brought her because she was vomiting A LITTLE and after a "protocol procedure"of $250 we went back home with the medicines (antibiotics, antacid, probiotic!?!?!?!). 3 hours after that my dog could hardly breath, couldn't walk and was shaking. I called for help and was told to give more Metronidazole (she would have died) or bring her to an emergency. I had to call another vet - referred by a friend - who had a hard time "bringing her back". AVOID AT ANY COST !!!!!

I cannot say enough about how wonderful Dr. Andreu and his staff are to me and my little dog and cat. I have lived in many states/cities and always had pets so always had a regular vet in each place I've lived, but none have compared to Pets & Vets. My dog and cat have had ongoing health issues that have required me to go to the clinic about twice a week almost every week and what could have been a very money-draining situation if this were another clinic, has been very reasonable financially considering all the check-ups, tests, treatments, and medications that my pets have been needing lately.You can tell that Dr. Andreu and his staff are truly in it for the love of animals and not just see this as a "job". I've seen people bring in strays because they know that Dr. Andreu and his staff will not turn them away or take advantage by charging a ton of money to help a stray. I am fortunate that Pets & Vets is only a few blocks from where I live, but I know there are people who don't even live that close by who bring their pets here because word is spreading quickly about how wonderful this place is and I am one of those clients happily telling all my pet-owning friends to bring their furbabies here.

I have been taking my time to share through out social media my story, because we were so happy with there care and services.
I had to run by, yesterday late night with an emergency, and Dr. Andreu and his staff took amazing care of my dog Pit. Thanks to them he is recovering well, without spending a lot of money like in other hospitals around the area. For sure this will be our new place for taking care of Pit, our beloved dog. We recommend his care 100%

Today I took my little PK for dental complain.... Well disregard old reviews, this place was renovated completely, clean and nice equipment.
Dr. Andreu is so good.... He impressed me. Very knowledgeable and caring with my dog.
Answer every question I had and give me good advice.
I just to go to the alternative place in A1A and 65 which is very good but very pricy.... And money is an issue for me. The price with Dr. Andreu is much more reasonable (even though can be a little bit less)

I've been going here for years, the previous owner was not the greatest at his job. However, the new owner and Dr. is amazing. He always treated my dog with love and he was always very direct with whatever situation was at hand. I remember I had to take my Dog in on Christmas day for a really bad ear infection. I called Dr. Andreu and he told me that he would meet me at the office. He took care of my dog and didn't even charge me an emergency fee. Last night I had to take my dog in because she was not doing so well. She was very weak and just wasn't acting normal. She passed away on my way there, but when I got to the Vet he immediately took her in and took care of her. He told me she died due to a ruptured spleen. The Staff gave me all the time I needed to say my goodbyes, which meant a lot to me as they were in the process of closing up for the night. I highly recommend Pets & Vets, you will not regret it.

2 stars for the vets as they are great. Unfortunately the customer service and communication from the older receptionists is slim to none. They will gladly take your money but will not great you kindly or be professional on the phone. Rude in my opinion. I dropped my dog Off at 10 am and was told surgery was at 2 pm, I called at 515 and was told he hadn't gone in yet. I called back 30 minutes later and stated that hi I just called for my dog Monty 30 minutes ago, the receptionist stated "no that was 15 minutes ago sweetie". Never have I been talked to before like that, I then asked what was going on with my dogs surgery, she stated she's not in the surgery room and she's only a receptionist she doesn't know. I ended up picking him up at close: 9 pm. I understand things change but there is a big lack of communication and kindness from the front desk which I will never go back for. Then upon picking him up nobody mentions anything. I spent almost $1,400 in two weeks and treated like crap from these ladies. will spend my money elsewhere.

We brought our cat Sofia to Pets and Vets Animal Clinic because of a chipped tooth. The veterinarian, who is the head surgeon there, Dr. Javier examined our kitty and mentioned that the tooth should be taken out. He scheduled her for surgery a week later. He also took her blood for analysis to make sure she is healthy enough for surgery. To my surprise (even before the blood results were in) he started her on a round of heavy duty antibiotics called Clyndamicyn that very night. He said that the antibiotics need to be in her system before surgery. 5 days into the drug being in her system she started having diarrhea and vomiting. She wasn't holding any food or water at all. We took her back to the vets office and she was given a shot for diarrhea and pills for vomiting that worked ok until they wore off. 3 days later the diarrhea and vomiting came back. Again we're back at the office to receive another anti-vomit shot (which is really painful to a cat) and more anti-diarrhea pills. We were very concerned by then and asked why this was happening and even consulted another vet later on, who told us that her tooth did not actually need surgery or antibiotics. It was unfortunately too late, she already had a bad reaction to the antibiotics. We saw our cat fading away and were desperate to help her. In desperation we ended up asking my brother, who is a human medical doctor in Europe what to do. After telling him that she was given a drug called Clyndamicyn he literally laughed and mentioned that these are typical side effects and that what she now has is Colitis which is inflammation of the colon in the entire digestive tract.. He said that no one prescribes this drug in Europe anymore because it gives Colitis both to humans and animals. He said that the anti-vomit and the anti-diarrhea medication would not help. The only drug that would heal her is a drug called Metronidazole but there still was a 50/50 chance that she will not make it. We decided to listen to my brother and get Metronidazole. Sofia was not getting better and we could tell she was in her last days. She started sitting under the cabinet where she never sat before and looking lifeless. Once we knew which medication she needed we did go back and spoke to the other veterinarian at Pets and Vets who was very patient and listened to all of our questions. We asked for a prescription for Metronidazole and we purchased it and gave it to Sofia on the same day. It worked. Thankfully 3 days into the new medication her appetite returned and the diarrhea improved and eventually stopped. My brother told us that we were very lucky that the first round of Metronidazole worked and helped with the Colitis. It took me a long time to write this review because it was so upsetting and I didn't want to sound like I was just ranting in anger. It has been nagging me until this day and I felt I needed to share it with all pet owners who might visit this clinic or any other clinic for that matter. Please do your research and question everything. All and all Pets and Vets was a stressful, negative and eventually expensive experience that we learned a lot from. Before bringing our cat there we actually looked at the reviews for this clinic and they looked promising. Unfortunately it turned out nearly fatal. She was given a medication that gave her colitis and then they couldn't figure out that it was the medicine that made her sick. That's not very professional and it almost killed our cat. Also we were told that her tooth needed to be surgically extracted (with the usage of anesthesia) and now a year later that same tooth is fine and she eats comfortably. Thank God I thought to ask my brother, in desperation did my own research and consulted another vet. In summary I just want to say that you can't just trust the reviews. Question everything and go with your gut feeling. Your pet is precious.

I am an extreme dog/animal lover. I had been a long time advocate for Banfield figuring any insurance to cover your pet is better than none. However, when my American Bully got sick dropping in weight from 107lbs to 84lbs within 3 months, Banfield had no answers and just kept suggesting the same tests. In a moment of desperation for answers and few options w the bills draining us we turned to Instagram and social media to ask people for suggestions on alternate vet options. Another dog obsessed friend highly recommended Pets and Vets. To begin, their fees are fair and allow you to give your pet the treatment they need. You can immediately see the love and care that the doctors and assistants have to help the animals. In one visit we assessed a treatment plan and now on the third visit we are able to identify a partial blockage in his large intestines. Not only are we able to figure out what's going on with our gentle giant but we are also able to better afford the cost of treating him. If you own a pet I urge you to at least take the time to visit this clinic and see for yourself the quality treatment your furry buddy would receive. 4 thumbs up : including my toes for this one.

The second time I went, the other vet on staff handled my 3 pound Pomeranian so roughly. He grabbed her by the face and then tried to open her mouth without even warning me. So she gnarled at the vet, and goes you should train her better. Never before or after has she snapped or growled at a person or dog.Come to find out they didn't do the rabies vaccine they were supposed to that they scheduled and have no idea why. On my way out I asked for an estimate for the spay. The lady up front was very scattered and/or busy. She goes just call me when you get home. I called her a week later and she said I had to bring her back in for the estimate. Very confused, I go you told me to call back to get it over the phone and just saw my puppy a week ago.So I decided to get estimates elsewhere with places that value my time and are much more organized. When I called back to get the medical records today and ask why the rabies shot wasn't done, the lady was quick to accuse me to not come back to a follow up when she had the records in front of her. I laughed and I questioned if they did the rabies shot and just didn't record it. Javier was great, the administrative side needs some work and lost a customer.

The receptionist was rude, and was an expert on nothing, but had an opinion on everything. We were told on the phone to come in within the next 30 minutes for a appointment, when we arrived we were informed that she never said we could come in today, but some time tomorrow? She then made it seem like she was doing a favor by letting us in today, when she promised us a visit 15 minutes prior. She made offensive jokes, but I'll let that pass as I blame it on her poor attitude. The vet assistant we saw was extremely nice and very helpful! She explained to us what was going to happen with our puppy and had a upbeat personality. The actual vet was even better! He put our puppy on medicine and explained why our pup wasn't feeling good. As this was happening the crazed front desk woman came in a few times to frantically fill the hand soap.I explained to the vet I left my card at home and could wait for my Wife to bring cash, or give my card number. He said reading off the card number to her was FINE. When I went up to pay I was informed that the doctor was in-fact wrong! And she was reluctant to take my information. Without my permission she took a picture of me, then shrugged and said "nope we're not going to get scammed". Excuse me? She was completely rude the entire time. The vet and the vet assistant were amazing tho.

My dog was diagnosed with heart failure last year and began losing weight. He then developed pancreatitis, stopped eating, lost more than 20% of his body weight, and just stopped being a dog. After a different vet refused to treat him, Dr. Andreu stepped in. He spent time with him, gave him fluids, and added kidney meds and pancreatic enzymes to his medication regimen and, after a couple of months, he has returned to his premorbid weight and is more lively than ever. I would recommend Dr. Andreu to anyone, especially if you have special needs dogs/pets.

Today was our second visit to Dr. Javier. He balanced a full room of patients, an emergency surgery and dedicated almost two hours of time to our little girl dealing with cardiac, pulmonary and mammary tumor issues. Answered every question, gave experienced and qualified advice and came up with a clear plan of action to, honestly, keep her alive and comfortable. He could've recommended a surgery that other doctors would have done in two seconds and hesitated with realistic expectations of survival. If this is not your first opinion guy - he should be you second opinion one. I'll be spending much more time with Dr. Javier as needed...

My furry baby and I have been coming to them for 2 1/2 yrs and have nothing but great visits (even when she was sick), awesome customer service from EVERYONE and (icing on the cake) best prices around! I'm impressed they do not push you for extra exams and extra medications etc. when problems arises. Very knowledgeable. They will recommend but will find the best deal/solutions.Let's be honest, I would do anything for my baby, but it can be costly. Pets & Vets works with you and wants the best for you and your baby. I appreciate that so much, they can be trusted!!!

We've been patients in another major clinic before we visit Pets & Vets Animal Clinic to find out that vet service could be exceptional with very reasonable prices even for complicated surgery, not only regular treatment or vaccination. Also medical equipment is modern and used on regular basis.

This animal clinic is a life saver.. in so many ways. I have TWO one year old cats that I rescued from abandonment last August. I brought them to Dr. Andreu for the first time then and will be a customer for life. Dr. Andreu and his staff really gained my trust when my cat jumped off the balcony and broke his leg last Christmas. I was a mess and had no idea what to do. Dr. Andreu guided me and performed a flawless femoral head osteotomy to repair the leg. Absolutely zero complications and amazing work- within a month my cat was running around the house like nothing happened. They helped me out with a finance plan and they always offer me ways to save money. They are open extended hours, I can always get in the same or next day if I need an appointment, and they always make me feel welcome. The best vet ever. All I can say is THANK YOU!!

My 4 year old chihuahua mix mysteriously became paralyzed in his back legs (we think trauma from playing too rough with our other dog). I brought him here as a last minute thing because they were close to me AND open after 5pm. There waiting time is a little long but its so worth it. They stay open i believe until 9pm.. what vet do you know open that late, that wont charge you an outrageous after hour fee? I'll wait.. lol .... Im so happy i found dr Javier! Him and his staff are so pleasant and they really do care for the animals. Most vets you go to will add different tests and what not just to take your money but that is definitely not the case here.. I ABSOLUTELY recommend Dr. Andreu. I've been an animal rescuer for over 10 years and been to hundreds of vets during this time, but I've never met one as qualified, caring and giving as him. He's one of the last remaining vets who is seriously good at what he does and who truly cares about animals. I own an animal shelter and he has saved the life of 3 of my animals during the past year, going way above and beyond what I would have expected. As if that wasn't enough, he's charged a really fair price every time.
99.9% of the other vets I've met through the years are not just mediocre or downright lazy, but have also only been after the money. So finding a great vet, who also truly cares about each and every animal that comes through the door, is almost impossible to do.
I'm so grateful for having met Dr. Andreu and his team... Although I live an hour away from his clinic, the commute is absolutely worthwhile.

It boggles my mind that there is a bad review for Dr. Andreu. He is an incredible Vet and surgeon. He goes above and beyond, and regularly attends continuing education courses to improve and learn new things. He has performed surgery on my small dog (>5lbs) and did an incredible job (growth removal- you can barely see a scar). He also has put her under to clean her teeth and she is always extremely well taken care of.
What is even more amazing is that he is knowledgeable in natural remedies. As some medications may treat symptoms but are harsh on other organs like the liver shortening the animal’s life.
He really cares about his patients.
I used to love my previous vet, and when I moved I was nervous about finding one just as good. There was no need, he is the best vet I’ve taken my dog to.
His staff is also kind, attentive, and organized. The prices are fair, and they are honest.

My foster Kitty had such bad gingivitis it was painful for him to eat. After getting an analysis from two other vets, I chose Pets and Vets. Dr Andreu handled my kitty w such expertise, I put my trust in him and his techs. The surgery was a total success. We went for follow-up visits when my kitty got steroid injections and lazor treatment, which resulted in speedy and thorough recovery, like magic! Two months later he can actually eat hard food again, which I was surprised being that his molars were removed. My foster Kitty he has plumped up to a nice healthy weight and eats with no pain now. It was a very successful procedure and we are very happy :-)

Pets and Vets has been participating in the "free spay and neuter program" for our community cats. Unfortunately, I keep hearing horrible stories from my friends about botched surgeries where the cats either die or "almost die". Why is that Dr. Javier? I am trying to make sense why so many cats die from a routine surgery.Do you let your unqualified vet techs do the surgeries? Whatever the reason is, please don't think that we won't find out if our cats die or become ill. Only because they live on the streets, it doesn't mean we won't check on them. We treat and love them like our own pets. So I hope you will take this review seriously and "fix this problem".

Tango is a sweet cat that came around my friend's building every night to be fed, he had to be treated urgently because my friend noticed he wasn't able to eat so something was wrong. Tango was taken to Pets & Vets and had a full physical done, blood tests, he was treated for dermatitis, infections, fleas, worms, and had to have a tooth extraction as well. They took such good care of him during all that time. Tango is now healthy and he is in his new home with his new pet mommy. Thank you for doing so much for the community.

Came here for a benign tumor removal. My dog is a geriatric patient of doctor Andreu and it was important to know his health status prior the surgery. Doctor Andreu is a very meticulous vet. He has multiple certifications that he has adquiere to do special procedures including some orthopedics and he is extremely knowledgeable Fromm the most routine case to the most complex. He made sure by running the appropriate diagnostics that my old man was in acceptable health conditions for the surgical procedure. He was fast and efficient during the procedure and my dog recuperate my fast and without any complications. Max didn't even have a scar after his procedure. This vet offers cold laser therapy which helped my dog's healing at a faster pase. Laser therapy provides healing by decreasing inflammation and decreasing pain. They have now moved to a new location which is pretty close from their original corner on 71st street but this location is way more spacious. Dr. Andreu had to expand since now he will be providing other revivís which require more equipment and work space. Very happy to bring my dog here for veterinary services. All of the equipment is state of the art and the prices for the services cannot be beat. It is the most inexpensive and complete veterinary hospital in the state.

Dr Javier and Tanya are amazing. Not only are they very caring and kind, they are professional and thoughtful and very thorough. My dog, Benny is my best friend. We've been together for 13 years now, so needless to say, his safety and wellbeing are my priority.I was very nervous about him having anesthesia for a dental cleaning & tooth extractions he needed, and I was very emotional about the situation. Not only is Benny an older dog, he also has some behavioral problems. They were very sweet and understanding of Benny's quirks. When I brought Benny to Pet & Vets, they were so caring and understanding of my concerns & didn't make me feel bad for crying and being emotional about it. Dr. Javier took time to explain everything to me, and to reassure me that he would do everything to make sure Benny was taken care of. He did exactly that. He spent hours working on Benny's teeth (he ended up having to have most of them pulled), and the surgery went very well. Benny has fully recovered with no problems. I am beyond grateful for the wonderful Dr and staff at Pets & Vets and highly recommend them not only for their quality services, but for their kindness and compassion.

The prices are very reasonable and they always give you other options for the care of your loving pet. I take my own pets there and also feral cats and are either injured or to be spayed/neutered and the care they received is the same loving one.

He was so nice to my mother when her dog was so sick and when mine had an infection from his neuter surgery.So I thought of him as someone that loved my pet. But when I go to order heart worm medication for him, because he had just approved online ordering of prescription flea and tick meds, he decided to deny my prescription without giving me the decency of calling me to let me know why and what he may have needed from me. My baby has not even been a year since he was competed with his infancy. He just turned one, so to tell me that it is required to have a yearly test is a crock of crap if you don't bother to let me know that's what he needs. If you wanted to get money out me you should have asked me and reached out to let me know what you wanted. But instead you decided to discriminate against a transgender person and call me a fag and to get out because I was upset with how he and his office treated me and my baby. This is Miami Beach you don't get to discriminate against transgender people here. Not to mention, before I made the purchase of the meds I came to the office and his assistant told me it was not a problem. This is someone that has been with him for years. Sounds like to me all they wanted was for me to buy my medication from him and not online.Never trust these homophobic monsters with your family members. They don't care. I need a new vet that actually cares and not out to just rip you off and treat you like garbage.How about the lack of being a sanitary place...gross.

Other than yearly Health exams and a few travel certificates...But every time I'm sitting in the waiting room entrance with some other people, I hear incredible stories about how Javier has saved/helped their pet in ways that other places could not. ( ok so the waiting room is tiny and you might have to wait a little bit past your scheduled appointment time so definitely don't go when you're pressed for time! But still totally worth it !!)Javier is extremely genuine and friendly and makes you feel like he actually cares about your pets well being. He doesn't rush the visit and answers any questions and/or concerns. Everything is very reasonably priced and he is very honest.I'm very grateful to have found this wonderful and convenient place.

Le amputaron la patita, le hicieron fecal, lo cuidaron 3 semanas, le curaron sus odos, le trataron parsitos intestinales y prcticamente por caridad. Soy veterinaria y con experiencia en el sector puedo decir que quedan pocas personas con un amor as por los animales, quienes realmente siente el dolor de un animal y hacen hasta lo imposible por verlo sano y feliz. It was my first time and I did not have an appointment and they quickly took me in after all of the appointments they had. Osvaldo was awesome my dog Bailey loooooveed him! He was very sweet, patient, and talked me through the examination he was doing before the doctor came in. The doctor Javier was amazing, he was very nice and explained everything in detail. I brought her because she was vomiting A LITTLE and after a "protocol procedure"of $250 we went back home with the medicines (antibiotics, antacid, probiotic!?!?!?!). 3 hours after that my dog could hardly breath, couldn't walk and was shaking. I called for help and was told to give more Metronidazole (she would have died) or bring her to an emergency. I had to call another vet - referred by a friend - who had a hard time "bringing her back". AVOID AT ANY COST !!!!!

I have lived in many states/cities and always had pets so always had a regular vet in each place I've lived, but none have compared to Pets & Vets. My dog and cat have had ongoing health issues that have required me to go to the clinic about twice a week almost every week and what could have been a very money-draining situation if this were another clinic, has been very reasonable financially considering all the check-ups, tests, treatments, and medications that my pets have been needing lately.You can tell that Dr. Andreu and his staff are truly in it for the love of animals and not just see this as a "job". I've seen people bring in strays because they know that Dr. Andreu and his staff will not turn them away or take advantage by charging a ton of money to help a stray. I am fortunate that Pets & Vets is only a few blocks from where I live, but I know there are people who don't even live that close by who bring their pets here because word is spreading quickly about how wonderful this place is and I am one of those clients happily telling all my pet-owning friends to bring their furbabies here.

I have been taking my time to share through out social media my story, because we were so happy with there care and services.
I had to run by, yesterday late night with an emergency, and Dr. Andreu and his staff took amazing care of my dog Pit. Thanks to them he is recovering well, without spending a lot of money like in other hospitals around the area. For sure this will be our new place for taking care of Pit, our beloved dog. We recommend his care 100%

Dr. Andreu is so good.... He impressed me. Very knowledgeable and caring with my dog.
Answer every question I had and give me good advice.
I just to go to the alternative place in A1A and 65 which is very good but very pricy.... And money is an issue for me. The price with Dr. Andreu is much more reasonable (even though can be a little bit less)

I've been going here for years, the previous owner was not the greatest at his job. However, the new owner and Dr. is amazing. He always treated my dog with love and he was always very direct with whatever situation was at hand. I remember I had to take my Dog in on Christmas day for a really bad ear infection. I called Dr. Andreu and he told me that he would meet me at the office. He took care of my dog and didn't even charge me an emergency fee. Last night I had to take my dog in because she was not doing so well. She was very weak and just wasn't acting normal. She passed away on my way there, but when I got to the Vet he immediately took her in and took care of her. He told me she died due to a ruptured spleen. The Staff gave me all the time I needed to say my goodbyes, which meant a lot to me as they were in the process of closing up for the night. I highly recommend Pets & Vets, you will not regret it.
