I'm so appreciative of Dr. Balsano and the entire staff for taking such good care of my pup, Annie when she had a pancreatitis attack. Dr Tenzer of South Beach Animal Hospital is one of a kind. Yesterday we brought our 12.5 year old King Charles Cavalier Andie into his office as an emergency case. Andie was in severe distress and wasn't breathing very well. Dr Tanzer put him in oxygen while his staff called around for a Cardiology Vet to see Andie as an emergency. As Dr Tenzer said " it was a matter of life or death". His staff immediately got us an appt at Dr Robert Prozek's office; since we are here from NY for the season and staying on the beach we don't have a car. Dr Tenzer insisted we take his car to Dr Prozek's office in Homestead an 1 hour away and his office watched our other dog Baci for the day. When we arrived at Dr Prozek's office his staff was already informed about Andie's case and immediately started treating Andie. He was in oxygen all day, given an echocardiogram, a proper diagnosis along with several meds to stabilize him. All ended well with Andie, he's breathing well again and we are all relaxing again and enjoying our time in Miami Beach. I can't say enough about the treatment and care we received from Dr Tenzer's office. We are forever grateful.Read Less

Ok we arrived at our winter place with our new lovely monty rescue...we live on cape cod  in summer. We landed and in 6 hours he was infested with fleas..advantix fine in North east NOT in sobe. When we called they treated us as we were always their patients.   Later 3 week our boy had somach problems both end called at 9 was seen at 1130. They are. A ring personable.   And so good. Seldom do I write reviews BUT I could not resist writing about South Beach Animal Hospital and what an amazing place and experience it has been so far.  When it comes to taking care of your pet, whether it be exams, surgeries, day care, or anything needed regarding your pet this is definitely the place.  I was nervous enough getting my first puppy recently.  Would i know what to do, where to go, what exams were needed, shots, X-rays, the whole deal.  I was referred to South Beach animal hospital after much research and asking many friends where they go.  South Beach Animal Hospital was the choice that many of my friends referred me to.  From the moment I walked into SBAH I knew it was the place for me and for Gizmo.  Words really can't express how amazing and wonderful this staff is.  They put my mind and ease and cared for my dog, like he was their own.  Walking into the front desk on any given day and dealing with Gabby, Reyna, Laura or Amy is such a delight.  They are so kind, courteous, professional and attentive.  And they ALWAYS remember YOUR name and YOUR PETS name. You are always greeted with a smile.  Great customer service and care.  I can't say enough about Veronica who ALWAYS takes care of Gizmo.  I think my dog has fallen more in love with Veronica then he has with me. She is the Dog Whisperer.  Thats what I call her.  I watch all the time as Gizmo runs to her every time we open the door to enter the office.  He know's all that time that we are on the way to see Veronica.  She puts my mind at ease all the time, makes me smile, and makes sure to always care for Gizmo when I leave him in her hands.  She is an angel.  Dr. Tenzer and his team of doctors and the rest of the staff that I have not mentioned are phenomenal.  They truly are experts in their field.  Gizmo and I work with Dr. Balzano.  She is wonderful to deal with and have oversee your dog.  Dr. Balzano is knowledgeable, compassionate, ALWAYS SMILING (you can really tell she LOVES what she does), fun, and always available when needed to answer questions, connect with and talk to (which was so important to me.......being that this is my first pet, i know i can be a little over protective with tons of questions).  She truly is amazing.  I thought that having to choose a vet was going to be difficult and hard. I also thought that I would have a tough time leaving my pup in the hands of someone else (when I leave him for day care, or doctor visits), but this couldn't have been easier since this was the best choice EVER!! It really is such a pleasure going to South Beach Animal Hospital. Believe it or not i look forward to it. It has made being a dog owner so much easier since they are in my life. I am extremely thankful to Dr. Tenzer for his compassion and concern for my dog. I brought her to SBAH after getting nowhere with her prior vet. Dr. Tenzer asked a lot of questions about my dog's symptoms, and really listened. He was determined to find out what was wrong with her, unlike some vets, who seem to give up when the diagnosis isn't immediately apparent. Once the diagnosis was made, my dog improved 100%. I am so happy a friend of mine got me to switch to south beach animal hospital. Dr. Tenzer is amazing. This is the only vet on miami beach that is not a rip off. I just recently had an issue with my Dogo Argentino and i called the vet to tell them about what was happening. After consulting with Dr. Tenzer they called me back with a complete course of action for my dog. They didnt try to force me to come in to their location and charge me for a visit. They gave bypassed all the extra charges and had me come in only to pick up the medication my dog needed. Needless to say 24 hours later my Dogo is doing a lot better. On a side note, my dog doesn't like being at the vet and can start to growl when being touched by vet techs and the vet. To make my dog comfortable and less stressed out, Dr.Tenzer goes above and beyond. Instead of bringing my dog into a room where he is ion a confined space, Dr. Tenzer made sure that the first time my dog (Kilo) met him, it would be a fun and nice experience. We did our entire vet visit in the waiting room and every visit since has been the same. I couldn't rave more about SBAH!! The staff are so very caring. I've been going there with my dog Pogo ( a Boxer) since he came into my life 9 years ago. Yesterday he was going to get his theeth cleaned. It ended up being a much bigger procedure as several theeth needed to be pulled and he was under anesthesia for 3 hours. Dr. Tenzer stayed with him until he woke up and was able to walk. Mind you that was after 9pm. He sat there on the floor with him. Dr. Tenzer is very caring and always makes sure that all the necessary and needed information is communicated between him, the staff and the owner of each Pet. He also checks up via phone calls or text to inquire about how the patient is feeling. . My cat had a myriad of things happen over the weekend and I brought him to another vet twice and he was not treated appropriately at all and they were not interested in even sorting through the possibilities for his symptoms and just gave me a pill and told me he was "fine". I came to this vet and WOW. It was the best experience all around. The employees here truly genuinely love and care for pets and for what they do. They were very prompt, went through all of the possible diagnoses and helped rule out each one, one by one. They took the time to listen to my pets full history, asked questions, etc. Not only this but they were very clear about the charges and what each was for (not the case with other vets in the area in my experience). Lastly, I felt like a mom with a gorgeous child that they just couldn't get enough of, they were petting any playing with the cat , showing him off to other employees, and walked with the carrier all the way out to help me get through the doors to the parking lot. I feel confident that my cat received the care and treatment that every pet deserves, and have no questions that were left unanswered. 100% will be my permanent vet! Read Less

Princess and I were referred to South Beach Animal Hospital by a friends neighbor, when i shared with him that my 16 y.o. kitty had unusual grooming neglect and difficulty eating. My kitty, a young 16 y.o. tabby who was full of life and very clean, suddenly wasn't herself... so this really concerned me. When i visited the office, i met Dr. Tenzer who listened attentively and was very sensitive to my concerns. He didn't want to alarm me but upon thoroughly examination, he explained the possible scenarios and we decided on further testing. Dr. Tenzer was incredibly sensitive not only to my emotional pain once we received the results but also to my financial ability in treatment options. My kitty had cancer under her tongue and this news broke my heart; not only because it meant i would soon lose her but also because of my present limitations in budget, preventing me from saving her. However, he worked with me to be able to give her the best possible chance in prolonging her life and allow us to share a few more months together. We had to place a G-tube in her throat. He took his time explaining the entire process, expected prognosis and possible challenges. My kitty responded very well to the treatment;she got used used to it very quickly and gained some strength back. Every time we visited the hospital i felt like i was amongst friends, every single staff member ongoingly gives their best to the welfare of the pets and are sweet and helpful as well as extremely professional in every way. One of the girls graciously delivered some medication for Princess on one occassion, when i was unable to drive. Thanks to the care my kitty received, we were able to share the next 3 months together. However, 2 days after my birthday on April 22 my Princess took a turn for the worst and i had to call Dr. Tenzer after hours, on a Friday evening. This incredible doctor left everything he was doing returning to the hospital immediatly, and helped my Princess to the last moments of her life. I cannot say enough about the South Beach Animal Hospital doctors and staff. I have had the opportunity to receive services from other vets, but none have matched the level of care and sensitivity received here. Needless to say, i highly recommend locals as well as travelers with pets to visit the hospital, when needed.Read Less

Just had an incredible experience with the lovely Dr Tenzer and his staff here at South Beach Animal Hospital. Day 1 of vacation and I scoop up a transient kitten crossing over the busy Collins Ave. My hotel called the closest vet nearby. So glad it was this place! Not only did they feed this little kitten, but they processed her for mites, fleas and worms, and they sent me off with a donated carrier to transport her to the nearest Humane Society. They refused a donation of any kind and were so generous through the entire experience which was quite stressful for the animal lover in me trying to ensure this animal's safety for the night. I went to South Beach Animal hospital to get a second opinion on why my dog was not as active as I thought he should be. He had recently had a blood test at another clinic, which I was told came out normal. Dr. Tenzer reviewed those results and spotted some abnormalities which had not been brought to my attention, and suggested running some more tests to determine the cause of those abnormalities. He was extremely thorough and knowledgeable in explaining to me all the steps we should take, why we should take them and what he sought to find or to eliminate as possible causes. As it turns out, the doctor was spot on when he thought my dog might have Addison's disease, which, turned out to be the case. Thankfully we were able to catch it early, and even after my dog and I left the country, I was still able to call Dr. Tenzer to discuss the treatment for my dog. He graciously took the time to talk to me on the phone for several minutes until all my questions were answered. I went to South Beach Animal Hospital twice for pet travel documents, and their customer service has been impeccable. They accidentally made a small mistake on a form, but unfortunately I didn't notice until I was back home. It was too late to make it before closing, so one of the vet techs drove all the way to Miami Beach during rush hour to give me the forms before my flight that weekend. We have had our puppy Arabella for a little over a month, and we're so happy that we found South Beach Animal Hospital.  The facilities are clean, the doctor is knowledgeable, and the staff are among the friendliest people I've encountered in Miami. We were out of the country for a week, and boarding her at SBAH was the best decision we could've made.  Our puppy wasn't kept in a cage all day; instead, she sat behind the desk and encountered many other people and dogs.  This did wonders for her socialization and really brought her out of her shell.   We were also sent pictures of her everyday, which was such a special treat!In addition, there is something comforting about boarding my puppy at a hospital.  If anything were to happen, I know she'll be taken care of.  She loved her time at SBAH so much that I now bring her once a week just to see her friends.  The staff are so sweet; they noticed she was itching, found a tick on her, alerted me and treated her ASAP. I would recommend South Beach Animal Hospital to anyone with a pet, because their care is extraordinary, their prices are competitive, and the atmosphere is safe and inviting.  SBAH is a great find, and I want others to experience their service for their pets! Best Vet! :)I would surely recommend the South Beach  Animal Hospital to the Miami locals as well as to the people in town for shorter time as I know how  hard it is to find a good vet to trust when traveling.I have a senior cat, la Bella which I adore. She lives in Italy, and I want what's best for her.Doctor Mike will give you the best advice, recommend the best medication and really get to know the patient's history in order to provide an all around strategy to keep you pet healthy!!Not every vet takes really into consideration elderly patients' well being, but they surely do at the South Beach Animal Hospital! There are little tips and certain remedies as well as certain surgeries (including dental work) that will considerably improve your senior pet's life quality!The staff at the clinic is very friendly and efficient as well!! :)So 5 stars from me!!!! Hello I moved down to south beach 4 months ago with my (2) 10yr old cats.  I know ALOT about cats but my cat started sneezing for a few days and I researched and knew I had to take it to the vet so I searched YELP here and found this place.  Very nice and saw me right away.  Happen to be a flare up of her herpes virus in her eye which is common in cats.  More expensive then my vet in PA but I'm guessing thats because of the area.What I REALLY liked was 2 days after the secretary I guess called to check up on the cat.  Then earlier today (1 week later)  the vet called to check up and she is fine now.  I was also able to ask other general questions to learn more about cats. I gave them 4/5 because I'm not sure if their check up price is good.  I'm not familiar with the area but it could be like other vets I don't know so don't take the 4 that serious.FYI there is no parking.  You should go with 2 people or drop your pet off first then drive around to look for a spot.  I had to park in a nearby parking garage.By them calling to check up makes me decide to keep them as my vet. I Love South Beach Animal Hospital! the whole team is amazing, I Have a French Bulldog, Benoit, he is 2 years old, since his first day at home (2months old) for his first check up we take him with them, Everybody is always nice and with tons of patience to explain, to take care, even by phone (specially Laura), I have no complains or negative comments at all. About pricing I don't think is expensive or overpriced, I could go to a cheaper hospital (there's always a "cheaper than the cheapest" for everything) but truth is prices are totally fair and according with the QUALITY of their service and attention, besides they offer different plans and choices to meet everyone's needs French Bulldogs are a very special and delicate breed, Benoit keeps growing very happy, playful and healthy with them, therefore as an "overprotective" mother, I am very happy and satisfied with them as well. I've been taking Hank to SBAH since we adopted him in 2011 and I've always had a really great experience. The girls who work reception are always sweet and offer a personalized experience (it's always nice when they remember your and your pup's name). Getting there: parking on the beach can be a drag, but this location makes it not so bad. Located just off Purdy in the bourgeoning Sunset Harbor area, this place was wagging tails before the neighborhood knew what was up. You can find a few near blocks of metered street parking or score a spot on the same block. For now, it's coins only (sadly, none of that PayByPhone option). If you're just running in and out, you can possibly snag the free loading zone parking right in front.The vets: I'm a fan of Dr. Lori Walter. She's been taking care of Hank since he arrived sick as a... dog... with kennel cough and worms. She was able to prescribe stuff to get him back to health and to date, he's been a strapping young lad. Now that a move to Brazil is upon us, Dr. Walter is helping us with the process of getting proper documentation to get Hank there. She's helped make the process a breeze by telling us exactly what shots he needs and when he needs to get them. Their website even has an "international travel" tab that shares info on pet requirements. Regarding prices, they can seem a little high, but it is the beach after all. Plus, we wouldn't trade Dr. Walter for another! Read Less

We just moved to Miami and can't live in our home bec. construction repairs not finished. So we kenneled our 73 lb. dog for what we thought would be a week and is turning into 1 month. He loves the place. When we come to visit he is in the front office with the staff and jumps up on the counter to greet us and everyone else who comes to pick up their dog! It puts a smile on everyone's face to be greeted by a dog instead of a person at an Animal hospital--common sense. The staff is fantastic and the doctors r tops. This is all in comparison to our former Vet. in California who came from UC Davis (he was also excellent). The staff also noted my dog was drinking a lot so the doctor ran some tests for safety sake and got back to me quickly. Fortunately, it's just new climate. P,S, I just came down with something flu like and went to an urgent care. I would say Butters is in better hands. Read Less

Yes I know it has been awhile since my last review. School has consumed my life. I really wanted to write this review because of what this place has meant to my family.  I went to visit my mother and our 14 year old cat was bleeding from his paw, she had me look at it and I immediately knew something was wrong.  I started calling different vets in the area and thankfully found this one.The lady who answered my phone call was polite and told us to come in right away. Long story Dr. Tenzer and his staff were wonderful. The following day they did surgery to remove his tumor which we were optimistic it would not grow back. During the day of his surgery and after him coming home Dr. Tenzer and his staff called with updates and to constantly check on him.  They are so very caring and do such great work here. One month later the tumor did come back and was much bigger.  Again we rushed him in to see Dr. Tenzer and he referred us over to a specialist.  We knew it was bad at this point.  Dr. Tenzer had saved the tumor from the surgery and sent it in that same day to get analyzed as to what type of cancer it was.  This was such a huge help as the specialist did not need to do a biopsy and wait 3-5 days for a report. A few days later Dr. Tenzer called us with the final report and faxed it over to the specialist.  He has been in constant contact with our family through this difficult time. He has helped in more ways than we could ever imagine.  He is a top notch veterinarian who is so caring and kind.  His entire staff are great as well.My mother will never take her two cats to another vet other than this one and I am glad.  I also have a cat but since I live in South Miami and they are closed on Saturday's I am forced to go elsewhere.  I can only hope I find such a great vet. I am new to Miami Beach, coming from another state. I took my dog to south beach animal hospital after checking out some reviews for the area's veterinarians, and it was nothing short of wonderful. I am a very fussy pet owner, and think of my pets as my children. Usually when i take my dog in he needs to be muzzled. The vet tech came in and explained everything to me first, and then Dr. Walter came in and looked at my dog. I was amazed at the fact that the two of them were able to get a scope down my dogs ears without being muzzled. He sat there and let them do whatever they needed to do without giving them any trouble. I couldn't believe he was this good on the first visit. My dog absolutely loved both of them. These people clearly love animals, and the animals know it. I was given all the information i needed and more, and would highly recommend this vet to anyone. Great vet care is not cheap, but i didn't find it to be any higher than any of the vets we've visited in the past. If you love your animals take them here. The care is stellar, and the atmosphere is wonderful. You can trust your fur babies are under good care here. LOVE this vet clinic! Read Less

WOWZA, finally a veterinarian who truly cares about your pet.  A week before I came here I took my two cats into another vets office for a full check up and after spending a fortune and not getting any real answers about a few minor issues I was like well at least they are healthy.  Fast forward one week later my cat Mystic 14 years old, was bleeding fairly bad from his paw.  I happened to notice it when he jumped off of a white ottoman and there was blood everywhere.I thought oh boy maybe he stepped on a piece of glass or something sharp at first. Then my daughter luckily came over and took a good look at it because unlike me she has great eye sight.  Sure enough she said it looked like he had a mass growing that was a good size and bleeding badly.  Shock and heart broken and very panicked I turned to yelp for the first emergency vet with good reviews of course.  I called one place and they said $150 just to look at my kitty.  Really, give me a break as I hung the phone up.  Then we found South Beach Animal Hospital.  My daughter called them and they said bring him in asap.From the moment we walked in every single staff member was super nice and very caring about my poor Mystic.The parking is tough in this area which really bothered  me at the time.  Then after I saw how good they are here parking was not even an issue.  They put us in a room after we filled out some paperwork and Dr. Tenzer came in introduced himself and wanted to know what was going on with kitty.  He was super nice, very caring and extremely informative.  There was no rushing or guessing on anything.  He listened patiently to me and he started his exam of Mystic's paw.He then told me with a soft tone that he had a tumor that erupted and it was so large even coming out of the top of his paw. Oh my gosh I was freaked out and shocked, thinking when, how, etc.....Dr. Tenzer said it probably had been growing for quite some time until it finally erupted and started bleeding. Then he started giving us options saying we could go to a specialist or he was confident he would be able to remove the entire tumor. Dr. Tenzer explained in great detail about the surgery, before, after, cost, etc....then he also gave us options to lower the cost with certain test or blood work that we did not have to have.  The next morning I scheduled Mystic's surgery and dropped him off at 8am.  The technician was expecting him and she like everyone else was so sweet.  I said my goodbye's and started tearing up badly.  All of a sudden fear got the best of me and I could not stop crying from the worrying about his surgery.  The technician smiled and softly said to me " please do not worry he is in great hands and will be fine".Hours later I am at work worried to death so I had my daughter call to see how the surgery was going.  One of the assistants told her he was still in surgery but it was going great and that Dr. Tanzer had removed all of the tumor already and he was pulling any rotten teeth and cleaning his teeth next.  Not long after Dr. Tanzer called me at work to tell me Mystic did great throughout the surgery and he only had to take one tooth out. Relieved, excited, and ever so happy it was the greatest news ever.Anyone who has an animal knows they are like your children, you love them no less.  My cats are my babies and it was so refreshing to have such a caring doctor and staff take such great care of my fur baby.  A few hours later after recovery my husband picked him up around 5:30pm.  Dr. Tenzer was about to leave and stayed to explain all the medication to my husband and tell him how well the surgery went. My poor kitty came home with some major pain shots, two different ones, and antibiotics.That evening when I got home I had to call the office because Mystic started biting into his paw trying to rip out the stitches. The nurse told me to go to the pet store and purchase a cone, no other choice.  My sweet daughter ran out for me so I could watch that he would not rip his stitches out. OK, no way, no how was he having a cone around his head   So like a good mom I had to stay up with him for two nights to make sure he would not bite it.  Well worth losing sleep over and it helped to have the medication during the day while I was at work.  He stayed sleeping during the day from the medications. Dr. Tenzer's office called twice after the surgery to make sure Mystic was doing well.  I so appreciated their concerns. The office staff were wonderful and I would never take either of my cats to anyone else.  Finally an excellent vet here in South Florida.  Made me wonder why after hundreds upon hundreds of dollars a week prior at another vet office for a full exam they did not notice his tumor.  Oh and they told me both my cats were dehydrated and I had to spend more $$$ for an IV on both my cats.  Dr. Tenzer pointed out he was not dehydrated just starting to get older.  Many thanks to Dr. Tenzer and his entire wonderful staff xoxoxo Read Less

We are so glad we found Dr. Mike Tenzer and South Beach Animal Hospital! Our 7-year old Corgie has had resent eye issues. We called and were able to get an appointment within 45 minutes. The office was very clean and inviting. The office staff was friendly and professional. We could tell right away they were animal lovers. Dr. Mike Tenzer checked out our pet thoroughly and prescribed medications. The cost of the visit and meds were reasonable in my opinion. I have been taking my 2 dogs to Dr.Tenzer since he opened his business. About 14 years now. I would not dream of taking my dogs anywhere else. Extremely good care, very honest. Explains everything very well and will not try to take advantage of a situation. They have gone above and beyond for me at this hospital. You can tell that they genuinly care about animals. I feel like home when going there and know that my dogs will receive the best care that they can possibly get. Highly recommend them. Entire staff is extremely good. I've been taking my dog here since the day I got him. He was a very sick puppy. I walked in without an appointment and the staff was sweet and helpful and the associate at that time, Dr. Hatfield agreed to see us. My dog ended up needing major care including a blood transfusion. Over the several weeks we saw both doctors many, many times. I am grateful to them every day I have my dog with me, because for sure, they saved his life. I am shocked to read the review of September 2010 because for all the times I have been there, I've never been made to wait and certaily have never been treated poorly. Dr. Tenzer has been my dog's doctor for over 4 years now. The quality care care and compassion at South Beach Animal Hospital is excellent. My dog had a problem this week and I got an appointment the next day. We saw the new associate, Dr. Walter, who is as kind and comassionate as Dr. Tenzer. She is a great addition to the practice. Went there because of the positive reviews on this site - I moved my busy agenda so I could take my dog to the Vet. Once there I waited 30 minutes for an appointment I had and then the doctor did not seem to care, he did not pay attention the my dog's breed special needs. He came back from the lab saying 'yeah, your dog's skins is FULL of bateria'... which bacteria, he did not say. He gave my dog antibiotics for 3 weeks, didnt do a thing... I have been trying to schedule a follow-up appointment but the vet's hours are very limited, the office is opened for 9 business hours but the vet is only there for 5, doesnt really make a lot of sense... beats me how i got on here but i did since im trying to accomplish an idea i have for where i now live out of state...i called dr t for some input & he offered etc & said i should try this site & similar ones to get input...be that as it may, i could make u all read my thoughts on dr t, his staff, & the hospital but i would be repeating all the good reviews i just read on here about sobe animal hospital...i will say ive never been approached to buy stuff i never needed except for the usual meds for my dogs; flea, tick, shots for the license once for 3 years they do, or the specialized dry dog food only sold by a vet...ive known & been a patient of theirs for 7 years with 2 dogs both treated by them...one passed away on his own so to speak & the other was kept alive on a serious medical condition for 2 years when he was given just a few months...cant knock any of that...he treated my mom very well & she thought very highly of him & the entire hospital & staff & she was quite picky to say the least...dr t also was my current dogs vet until i moved out of state but they still communicate...dont your pets communicate with him when they visit the hospital? ah ha! ya never thought of that did ya...anyway, i can only say excellent things about dr tenzer, the staff, & the hospital, & if u must know his dad as well also a vet that dealt with my dog that passed on his own...so go pay them a visit but since they are so busy, schedule a visit as if u are a prospective patient so u can have some of their time & check it all out for yourselves...oh, and yell at the city to give them some more parking spaces as i used to do...thanks, bruce Read Less

DR. Tenzer and the staff treated us like we were family. My two small yorkies had their teeth cleaned and I was a nervous mommy. The Dr allowed me to wait for them and kept me up on all the happings. Let me just say South Beach Animal Hospital is a blessing in the form of Animal Care. I've recently moved to Miami Beach from Chicago and I moved down here with my two dogs (Charile and Mojo) so one of the main things I did was search where I could take my babies for care they desperatly needed (heartworm). I went to a couple of places that I saw just riding around Miami beach but none were as attentive and caring as South Beach Animal Hospital. Dr. Tenzer really made me feel like my boys were long time patient's and they would be taken care of so I felt super comfortable leaving them in his care. Honestly, back in Chicago, my boys received good care and I felt comfortable but Dr. Tenzer makes it a point to make sure that I fully understand everything that is going on with their health and all of the medication and treatment they are recieving here. Never do I feel that I am being rushed out of the office or that I am not being taken care of. The entire staff is very friendly and informative with any questions or concerns that I have. All in all, South Beach Animal Hospital is great and I always recommend my friends to go there with there pets. :-) Read Less

I recently moved out of Miami Beach and continue to visit South Beach Animal Hospital for the care of my two dogs. The extra 15-20 minute drive is definitely worth the trip, it is hard to find dependable healthcare services out there and the hospital staff members are extremely caring and hospitable. Dr. Tenzer along with the hospital's vet care technicians are very informative and detailed during all procedures. My dogs love the trip to the vet. As a professional who often travels I feel entirely confident that South Beach Animal Hospital will adequately care for my pets, they absolutely love the hospital and enjoy boarding in their spacious and comfortably accomodated pet suites. I have been taking my dog and cat to Dr. Mike Tenzer for over eight years and he is truly unparalleled as a Veterinarian and is a physician in every sense of the word. I have been through so much with my little dog Diva, and never once was I rushed or pushed aside because the hospital was too busy. Dr. Tenzer gives one hundred percent of himself to each of his patients and to their sometimes very distraught Owners! He listens to all of your concerns and worries without ever making you feel like you are wasting his time. He explores every possible and viable option for treatment; he is always current and aware of new studies or breakthroughs in veterinary medicine and pet care. He is always willing to try the least invasive treatment whenever possible, and always has the next plan of action clearly mapped out. Dr. Hatfield and the Staff at South Beach Animal Hospital take his lead and are all professional, caring and take excellent care of the animals; it is like a family when you are there. If your animal is sick or needs surgery it is stressful enough to have to deal with, and the staff go out of their way to help you get through it. The Hospital environment is technologically up to date, impeccably clean and very welcoming. Dr. Tenzer's passion for the welfare and care of animals carries through his staff and hospital. I wouldn't take our family's pets anywhere else for care. We recently adopted a kitten that ended up needing quite a bit of care, and Dr. Tenzer and his staff treated us like family. I've been to other animal hospitals that feel like factory, but SoBe Animal Hospital is different. I actually drive a pretty long distance to see them, but it's definitely worth it! Read Less
