I’m a nervous person when it comes to taking my dog to a vet. We all know it’s very difficult to find that one perfect vet. This is the only Vet office where I could confidently walk in and know that my dog is being greatly taken care of. The times I’ve been here I’ve left feeling relieved and happy. The staff are wonderful people and the Doctors are so kind and gentle. I can’t thank them enough for taking care of my dog. They’re simply the best! Due to my work schedule it is very difficult for me to go to the vet during the week. I called my regular vet and even if I left early I couldn't get there before 6:40. I was told by them that I would have to pay a $150 "emergency" fee because they closed at 7. Luckily a coworker of mine goes to a VCA in Broward so I gave it a shot. I called and the genleman said no worries and that they closed at 9 and if I didn't mind to wait because of some prior appointments, come on in. I was happy just to be there honestly because I was losing sleep over my dogs nightly stress whining. All the people at the front desk were great and asked me questions and showed interest in my dog. The Vet tech was great and wrote down everything I told her and checked on us as we waited for the Vet, Dr.Rachael Johnson. She knew exactly what was going on and said don't worry that I had natural and medical options. She gave my dog a physical and even had someone cut her nails for me. She gave me a mild prescription for my dog and I am happy to say I can finally sleep and Jessica is stress free. This place is great and I will bring my dog there for everything now on. all the doctors are excellent which is convenient because they have all at some point seen one of my pets. They are always able to accommodate me and see my dog/dogs on short notice too! The rest of staff are always super friendly even when it’s hectic there because they are busy, which this is a very busy animal clinic. Nidia, Glenn, Ozvaldo, Melisa, and sorina are some names of people that have really left a lasting impression during my visits. However everyone there is pleasant so sorry if I am forgetting any names. So happy to have a place I can trust for my babies. Read Less

This team is amazing. Glenn is the only vet tech I have been able to find that has the ability to handle my strong dog and he provides great service on anything he needs from baths, nail trims, eta... Dr. Pait is one of the best. He was able to detect a heart issue in my dog during a routine check up that may have saved my dogs life. Dr Benedini is excellent. She takes the time to speak to you about your pet and concerns rather than just rushing you out the door. She wants to make sure everything discussed is understood. Melissa at the front was quite pleasant as well, positive attitude and very kind. Just moved to the beach, very happy with customer service and the Doctors. Even though seemed very chaotic here because I guess this is a very busy hospital the staff still did a great job with being pleasant and very attentive. This place is great, can't recommend them enough. I was looking for an emergency pet hospital after our dog Simon dislocated one of his toes while rough-housing in the house one evening and VCA came up. I called them, explained the situation to Kimberly (Kim) who was as nice and understanding as can be and told me to definitely bring him in even though there were 10 minutes from closing. I got there and you could tell that Kimberly and the rest of the staff are super caring as they doted on my little Simon. Doctor Rachael Johnson ended up seeing Simon and I couldn't have asked for a better, more informed and pleasant vet! She took the time to explain my options and went the extra step of trying to keep the procedure as affordable as possible given my financial situation. Eventually I ended up going back a couple more times in an "emergency" capacity since Simon's bandage kept coming off and each time they gave me priority and was able to be seen by the doctor in a matter of minutes. I was so pleased I promised Kim and Doctor Johnson some fresh baked cookies the next time I visit! Read Less

This is the best veterinary in town, I have been a client for more than 10 years. Dr Pait is the best, you won't find a more professional and loving doctor than him. The new manager Melissa is awesome everything works great at this place. She and Francisca the staff manager will help with everything you need. My cat died tonight unexpectedly. He was only 12 and was acting completely normal so needless to say I was shocked,and at a loss on what to do. My 7 year old chihuahua had gum disease! I brought him in on a Monday to get blood work done and to find out how many teeth he would need removed! Dr. Barr was great! We set up the surgery no sooner then the blood was back which was Wednesday. He got 4 teeth removed and they had him all day to make sure his temperature went back up to normal. I don't have pet insurance and it only was 350$ with 2 different meds, 2 cans of soft food and 4 teeth abstracted and also a dental cleaning. He has very nice Pearly whites now . I can't complain! I had the most heart breaking experience of my yorkie getting suddenly sick with no diagnosis or treatment in sight. It was my first experience with Dr. Rachel Johnson and I am so grateful to have had her to guide me through the process. She was compassionate, sincere, and generous with her time. She spoke to me outside of her work hours, even when my dog was transferred to a separate facility that could provide overnight care. She followed up with me daily via text or call even when he was not "her responsibility" anymore. Her concern is her patients and their parents (owners). She is one of the most soulful veterinarians I have ever met and I would highly recommend her. When I am ready to move on and get another dog, I will definitely be returning to her as my primary veterinarian. Thank you for everything! I had a great experience for our first visit. As soon as you walk into the hospital the staff is very friendly and efficient, very little waiting time. The place is bright and very clean . Wow! I'm just a bit surprised reading the reviews. I have taken my pets there for almost 15 years and never ever had a problem. The clinic is a bit overrun at times but they're always professional and friendly even in stressful situations. The doctors I mostly deal with are Dr. Pait and just recently also Dr. Benedini. There is not one bad thing I could or would say about their knowledge, love of animals and professionalism. I never felt overcharged or taken advantage of by the services they render. The only criticism I have is that the food is marked up way too much for me. I bought it online for a third of the price but that has nothing to do with the staff... Read Less

DON'T TAKE YOUR DOGS TO ALTON RD ANIMAL HOSPITAL!!! They mis-diagnosed our Pomeranian last fall (who had a ruptured gallbladder), they did an ultrasound and said she was fine..are you kidding me!? They gave her some oxygen, and we were on our way home. En route, we noticed our little girl's gums and tongue began turning blue so we then rushed her to S. Miami to the 24hr Emergency Vet Clinic where she was diagnosed properly. The specialist performed emergency surgery to fix the rupture but it was too late.. she passed away after a 2-Day fight. --- Aftermath: Once she had gone, our 17yr old Golden Basset who had lived the majority of his life with our Pom (11yrs), became severely depressed and passed away just 5 weeks later. This was all needless and should've been diagnosed the first time. The surgeon at the Emergency Vet Clinic said that if Alton Rd had properly diagnosed our Pomeranian and surgery performed right away, she would have lived. Do yourself, and your dogs/pets a favor and find a reputable Vet. We have found two places where we treat our dogs now (a) for immediate needs, a clinic in Boca Raton (b) for long-term health, we travel to Palm Harbor (St. Petersburg). Read Less
