I've lived in several places in Miami, and had many vets for my 13 year old pug, and Dr. Emilio Bustillo is hands-down the best by far. Everyone from reception to the techs to the vets is kind, professional, and knowledgeable, and they never leave you feeling in need of more attention or information. My dog has had routine check ups, an ultrasound, dental cleaning and tooth extraction, blood work, and other tests, and Dr. Bustillo has handled everything beautifully. It is so nice to see a vet who seems to appreciate your pet as much as you do. Dr. Bustillo is both knowledgeable and experienced. He helped me with serious health concerns with my previous dog as well as general care and behavioral issues. On top of that, Dr. Johan welcomed my young son in the examination room so that he could see what he did and ask questions about caring for our young puppy. When we brought home our 2-year-old rescue dog last July, we picked Bustillo Animal Hospital as our veterinary center based on the great comments from our friends. Everyone under that roof really gets animals and the humans who bring them in. The quality of care is superb, and I can trust them in their recommendations re insurance, flea protection, etc. Max's doctor, Dr. Johan, is a GREAT clinician. This place really is every bit as good as the 5 star reviews say it is. The doctors really care for your pets and don't cost you an arm and a leg. I had found my little kitten on the side of the road and was very worried about his health, the staff at Bustillo asked me to walk in with him as soon as I called and there was no wait time. They were so meticulous with his care, I was thoroughly impressed and relieved to have their help. Couldn't imagine taking my kitty anywhere else from now on. Read Less

I can't say how much I love Bustillo Animal Hospital. I started going there in 20001, when I found a stray kitten that was sick. I was a college student and didn't have much money. I called around to various vets and they were going to charge me $200 to walk in the door. When I called Bustillo, he answered the phone. When I described the symptoms of the kitten his response was "Get here now, this is an emergency. Don't worry about the money, bring him in now." Over the years, I continued to rescue cats and he worked with me to help take care of them. He even came to my home to help me a few times. I boarded my cats there when I left town and always knew that even if they were in cages, they were safe and being looked after properly. He truly loves animals and I highly recommend him. I would give his 10 stars if I could! Thank you Bustillo Animal Hospital and Staff! I recently moved to Colorado and he is the only thing I really miss! I wanted to take a moment to make a comment about a visit that I had made a while ago. My cat Aphrodite is only a year old and one day she had a severe issue with her eyes. We were new to the area and so I researched various Vets and found this one. When I took her in (crying because I was so worried) the Vet took the time to answer every one of my endless questions and told me honestly some things that it could be and what it would mean for my cat. They took blood to test for viral issues and called me every time they received a response back (for each test) because I was so worried and they knew it. Turns out that the problem cleared up with some medicine and it wasn't a virus. Being naturally a nervous person, this office really helped me to feel better. I wish someone had posted a review about this clinic before I took my cat here. I  assumed that a DOCTOR would help her, instead of making the situation worse. They're a nice staff, but as professionals  they shouldn't have been issued a license. Avoid at all costs. Trust me, it's worth paying a little more for a reputable clinic instead of falling for their "first-free visit consultation". Read Less
