I recently visited this clinic for the first time with my sick little dog, and it could not have been a better experience. Based on our excellent first visit, the Coconut Grove Animal Clinic will now be our new primary veterinary clinic! The office staff members (two women) were courteous, professional, and efficient. Both the vet (Dr. Kate Marmesh) and her technician were very kind and friendly to both my dog and me.I am so pleased that this clinic doesn't use appointments for most pet health issues because our visit was an emergency one (my dog had stopped eating). The clinic is located across the street from the Coconut Grove Post Office near CocoWalk. I was able to quickly find a metered city parking spot right on Grand Avenue, and I used the convenient Pay-by-Phone app to pay. We didn't arrive at the clinic until nearly 4 pm. I was nervous that we would be too late, but it wasn't a problem with the clinic. The clinic's first come, first served policy works perfectly. Our wait was about 50 minutes, and we left shortly after 5 pm. (Clinic hours are from 9 am to 12 noon and 2 pm to 5 pm.) I am not 100% certain, but it appears that the vet continued to work and see all of the other pets that entered the clinic before the clinic door was locked at 5 pm.Dr. Marmesh did the fecal lab test with a microscope right in front of me. We got a quick diagnosis from her, and she immediately began treatment. The charge was VERY reasonable. My dog was fecal tested, diagnosed, given a shot, and I received two syringes of oral medication for $46. My dog still needs some more tests and vaccinations, but there was no pressure to buy any service or products here. Because I was given the option of whether to do certain tests, it was clear to me that this is an honest business.I have already made another appointment for my dog to have her teeth cleaned ($195) and take care of those other tests and vaccinations. As I wrote in my intro, Dr. Marmesh will now be our primary vet because of our terrific first experience. Lastly, I strongly disagree with reviewer Michelle D.'s "Pro-tip" about buying prescription food at a Petsmart to save $3. The low cost of the services and the convenience of this terrific but small family-owned clinic is reason enough to buy prescription dog food from them instead of buying from a mega-chain to save $3. Sure, I could get our needed dog vaccinations a little cheaper from that roving vendor that visits Walgreens, but that vendor isn't the one advising me on my dog's health and treating her when we need it. I will gladly pay a little more for my pet health products to keep my local vet in business. Regardless of which vet you choose, you should bring your pet to your treating vet whenever your pet needs regular checkups and vaccinations; not just when your pet is sick or hurt. Support your local small businesses!Thank you, Coconut Grove Animal Clinic!P.S. Our prior vet was Bild Animal Hospital in North Miami, which is another a similar, affordable, excellent veterinary clinic. We left that clinic only because we moved further south and because Bild doesn't have afternoon hours. Read Less
