The office is small and overlooked, but please don't judge it by it's exterior. Dr. Hardy is the most compassionate, kind, caring veterinarian I've ever met. The doctor is very caring and compassionate. The staff remember my pets and call them by name. Consistently and surprisingly checking on ill pets which I really appreciate. Dr. Hardy simply wants the best for your pet. He goes above and beyond what most veterinarians do. I'm a dog breeder and when one of our puppies became extremely sick he came in after hours and during his days off to watch over him. We cannot say enough good things about him and his practice. He explains everything in a way for you to fully understand and will inspire you to become a vet of your own. He's furthered my passion for veterinary medicine and has offered to let me pick his brain whenever I have any questions in that regard. Kiki and Zilkia have become like family to us and have always been more than hospitable and friendly. They will make the visit as seamless as possible and always find room for my last minute appointment requests. Everyone here makes this place work like a well oiled machine. I just moved to the area and have gone to a few different vets with my two dogs, Dr. Hardy is by the best, most caring, and most affordable in the area. The office is small, right next door to a gas station and I-95, but don't let that fool you, they are very good. Read Less

We just moved here from PA with our adopted husky and we were extremely worried with seeing a new vet. I am so very pleased with Dr. Hardy and all the employees. Horrible!!! I took my 6 month old cockatiel to Mr.Hardy with breathing difficulties. He did a physical exam on my bird which I had consented for. He did a stool test without telling me the cost and I said ok because I thought it was part of the visit. I wish he did a blood test instead. Anyway, he tells me that blood test and X-ray will be needed as he had no idea what it could be and tells me that blood test and X-ray with anesthesia alone will cost close to $500. He charged me $62 for the visit which is reasonable for an office visit but the visit to him was useless. He wrote bunch of numbers as prices from top of his head on a piece of paper and wouldn't give it to me to take it with me. Then he said he has no idea how much the treatment will be. It was my very first time seeing a veterinarian as this cockatiel is my first pet. He scared me off with the pricing and I didn't like the way he explained everything to me and that he did a stool test first for a bird with breathing difficulties. So I came home with my bird and did some searching online and found an incredible Avian veterinarian, Dr.Harris on South Dixie Hwy. I drove more than an hour to see Dr.Harris. Within a few minutes of checking the bird he told me that the Bird could be having pneumonia and did some diagnostic test which confirmed it. He gave us some antibiotic for the bird to give 2x a day for 2 weeks. All for the cost of $280. Dr.Harris didn't even need to do all the diagnostic tests at once to see what's wrong with my bird and he told me ahead of time that the antibiotics will cost around $20. I left Dr.Harris's office in 40 minutes with a diagnosis and meds for my bird. Please don't take your sick pet birds to Mr.Hardy as it looks like he doesn't have much experience with birds.Read Less

I'm honored to be the first person to write a review about Dr. Joseph Hardy and his staff.I have known Dr. Hardy since 1998. I have had the privilage of being one of his staff members/ family for 8 years.  He is the most caring, compassionate veterinarians you will ever meet.  He also has a bedside manner that is amazing and lost in this day in age.  I was also a client with a variety of animals, I would bring in to have him treat.  Ranging from squirrels, lizards, cats, and dogs, etc. What is also great about the Animal Clinic of Ives Dairy Road, is that, they don't have a revolving door.  You are not going to be expecting a new face everytime you walkin.  The staff loves Dr. Hardy, not only as a boss but a friend and colleague. Most of his current staff has been with him for over 10 years.Dr. Hardy, has set a high example of what and how veterinary medicine should be.  And even though I live in South Carolina now, the local vets hereare simply no comparsion. Dr. Joseph Hardy is extraordinary both as a veterinarian as well as a human being. I have known him for over a decade and I would not go to anyone else. He is honest, very knowledgeable, personable and he always takes his time to describe all the possibilities and circumstances in order to be able to make the best possible choice for both the animal and his/her caretaker. He has saved several of my own and foster cats lives as well as he has saved a pigeon I found on the street with severe damage to her wings. He equally and deeply cares just as much about animals as about their caretakers. He respects all living creatures and beings regardless of species. I recommend him to anyone who would like to get the best medical care for his/her beloved pet. He is really exceptional. I wish there were many more special souls like him in every area of life! 5 Stars is not nearly enough for this amazing Vet in North Miami Beach. I have been Dr. Hardy's client since 2007. His compassion for the animals is unsurpassed by any vet I have ever experienced. He explains everything to the most minute detail, no question is too unimportant. He takes the time to make sure that we understand everything. I have such great confidence in his expertise and experience that I regularly recommend his practice to friends and acquaintances and they call me after spending one appointment with him thanking me for the referral.
