Horrible experience. Read entire review. This is the worst puppy store in South Florida. I was sold a Mini Australian Shepard over a month ago and she passed away 4 days after being released to me. I purchased the puppy and they made me come back 3 times to pick her up because the puppy was "recovering from a cold". After three times of being sent home and being given free merchandise from the store as a bribe to not get upset I forced the manager to let me see my puppy. The staff nervously tried to clean her up but she was completely covered in feces and nutrical paste. It was the most disturbing thing I have ever seem. They have a bunch of children running the store and they neglect the puppies. They quickly showered her and released her without consent from the Vet. The next day I took her to Dr. Pou who is also another crook. He followed to tell me that "he wanted to run a test for Giardia" bc he believed that the puppy had a parasite attacking her nasal cavity. I spent over $4200 to purchase the puppy and over $300 at the crooked vet. All in 4 days. My puppy had a seizure 4 days after I took her home and died in my arms as I rushed her to the emergency room near my house. The ER Vet told me she believed the puppy had pre existing conditions and was having seizures at Petland which is why they didn't release her to me right away. These people are disgusting and I need to make sure that you all read this before choosing Petland or Dr. Pou. It is all a scheme. They sell you sick puppies so they can rack up your tab. Please stay far away from these people. I reached out to their "solutions" department and I haven't heard back in over a month. So I'm $5000 in the hole and I had my puppy die in my arms. I will be taking legal action but please do not make the same mistake I did. Horrible people. Read Less

Update!!!Opon getting home and taking a look at the invoice my girlfriend game me, she was charged $45 for a 6oz bottle of omega 3 salmon oil. This is completely robbery when for less than that you can purchase a 64oz. I'm so upset right now. Guys we work very hard for our money and it sucks when people take advantage of a situation. Look at the pre invoice, mind you, this was just a yearly vaccine visit. This Vet office came recommended to us and we took the chance and brought our dog in for his annual vaccinations. My girlfriend calls me and says they wanted to charge her a $700+ vet bill. This is insane. We take very good care of our dogs. They are inside and have been on raw food for over 4 years already. The vet was telling her how raw food is bad and pushing kibble which is nuts. Kibble is equivalent to fast food for humans and is why dogs have so many issues now days. Try eating fast food everyday and see how well that's going to go for you. She told me she had to tell them on several occasions that she just wanted the annual vaccines and that was it. They kept giving her the guilt trip about how our dog needed a special type of food, that his skin was dry and his eyes were swollen. My dog is a Dogo Argentino, his coat has always had a pinkish hint to it because he's albino. When he gets worked up his eyes get red. All Dogo's I've seen have the same characteristics as mine. They also told her that was the first adult Dogo they've had in their office. They also were pushing to get our dog neutered. We specifically signed a contract with our breeder that we wouldn't neuter our dog. They kept on scolding her and making her feel extremely uncomfortable saying that the changes of our dog getting cancer after 5 years due to not being neutered were 70% and were pushing to get the procedure scheduled. She just paid for the vaccines after making them change the invoice multiple times and some oil to put on his food which was way overpriced and not needed. She just paid it to get the hell out of there. After this experience, we are definitely not going back. Such a shame. Read Less

This place is a rip-off. 6 months ago doctor told me to come back in 6 months for my dog to get his other heartworm shot. That as long as I was coming within 6 months no further lab tests were required. After putting me and my dog in a room some little girl told me that he needed to flea bath that he needed lab work and some other stuff that I didn't understand. I told her that I only need it the heartworm shot. To go check with the doctor and to let me know. She left the room, came back telling me that the doctor wasn't in today and that was a new protocol. These people are scammers and I would highly recommend finding another vet.For those people it's not about taking care of your animal it's about how much they can charge and sell you. I am very grateful and impressed with Vet Pou. My furbaby had an alopecia for months, I went to many specialized sites and spent a lot of money (consultations spends 100 dollars) and nobody gave results. One Saturday I happened to come to that clinic looking to run my furbaby's nails, so in Pet Smart that was next door they were very closed, unpleasant and stubborn when I went and I left because they did not give me confidence to let them touch my furbaby ), in Pou they were super loving, the vet is in lunch and still I cut the nails of my furbaby, then he went out and asked me about the alopecia, I told him that there was no solution. He smiled, made a bet with me, sent a shampoo, put in 10 minutes and rinse afterwards, every two days. He did not charge me for his consultation, he just asked me to take pictures to show him the progressive hair growth. Without faith, I bought the shampoo and did what he told me ... what would I lose after months of battle against alopecia? As I did not believe, I did not do the photos .🙄........ my baby's hair grew healthy and strong, you never have suffered from alopecia again😏😊😍. Thanks Vet Pou .😚😚😚😚.... I'm so glad I went to Pou Veterinary Group! I knew I picked the right place as soon as I was greeted by the receptionists. As a new customer I found the check-in process easy and efficient. The vet tech was very knowledgeable and treated my dog Marshmallow as if she was his own. Dr. Pou is a fantastic veterinarian! He answered all of my questions and took his time to explain everything they would be doing during the examination. I was very impressed with how high quality their equipment is and appreciated that they invited me to take a look at my dog's x-rays. The office has a convenient full pharmacy which means no running around to collect prescriptions after the visit. I purchased the senior dog package which covered the exam, provides discounts and includes a phone number which will allow me to ask questions or share concerns with the doctor any time, day or night. I adopted my puppy from a shelter and by the third day of having him we became regulars at Pou's Veterinary Group. My puppy was diagnosed with Distemper two weeks before Christmas and did not have odds in his favor. After this diagnosis, he was faced with several other obstacles. With my persistence and excellent care from Dr. Pou, I am proud to say that my dog is now 9 months old and healthier than ever! Dr. Pou and his staff are very friendly and make themselves available for all our needs. Getting a same day appointment is never an issue. In regards to cost, I feel the need to remind people that owning a pet carries financial responsibility. Like people, pets get sick, and treating them costs money. Buying a pet is a commitment that lasts years. I have made more trips to the veterinary clinic than the average owner and I have found that having pet insurance has saved me tremendous amounts of money. If it is in your means, a pet insurance plan will be the best investment you make in your pet. It is also sometimes better to ask Dr. Pou for a prescription because as another reviewer stated, some of the medications can be purchased at a pharmacy for less. I love this place. The lobby is clean and nicely decorated. They have free coffee, yeah! The personal is very qualified and experienced. I have never left a review about anything. But I had to do something so it would not happen to someone else. I had 3 15 yr old dogs on their wellness plan and it was to save money. What I found is they always gouge me for other unnecessary meds or tests. I am so disappointed in them. After 3 years knowing them constantly treating one dog the other dog became very ill. The first bill to figure things out was $836. I was not able to do that immediately, I spoke to Dr Pou himself. Super nice. He said well we at least X-rays $175 plus the consult. What choice did I hv. Ok. He came back that I would need to have ultrasound, surgery blah blah blah in the thousands.  For my dogs I am a sucker I will do whatever, "can you assist me or can I pay weekly 2 or 3 payments to move forward I want him better. He said yes. When we are checking out with what I now know are stupid meds including probiotics $35, omeprezole which is Prilosec $35 etc my bill was $550. When I told the girl he had said I could pay in sections, she said I could take the dog without treatment and come back. After much back and forth he allowed one payment Wednesday and the balance on that same Friday. He had made thousands from me for a a leg surgery and for treatment of my other dog so why not care about me and my now really sick dog. To allow me a week or so. Maybe not include all this overpriced crap and tell me to go get the same thing at Cvs or Whole Foods. My story ends well I went to another vet on Thursday and my dog and I were treated with respect and consideration.  I was charged $83 and I felt that what could be done was done. Read Less

I found this vet through a family member. I have read reviews who gave this office less than 5 stars and i do not know why. To start the office was clean and the staff in the front was extremely friendly and helpful. The nurse and Dr. Pou were amazing, provided alot of information and really made my extremely sick dog a priority and helped her recover from her illness. I take both of my dogs to Pou Veterinary Group and have had nothing but good experiences here. Dr. Pou is very kind and approachable and his staff provide ex cellent customer service. They also are very caring towards my dogs, which you think is the norm at a vet's office but unfortunately that has not always been the case in my experiences.I think the biggest perk to this office is the free office visits. I cannot say enough great things about this practice. My dog had to have an emergency surgery. The Vet and staff are very knowledgeable and personable. They called me multiple times after the surgery to see how my dog was doing. I really appreciate how they treated my dog from start to finish. It meant a lot. My first experience. I went to the low cost clinic with my new little Russian Blue and my first impression was a good one. Everyone is so friendly and Dr. Pou is so nice. I'm a first time owner with a cat and we found her in a warehouse. He was able to educate us, tell us her breed and her age. He did us a favor by clipping her nails and sense it was the low cost clinic he told us not to worry that in 2 weeks go to the clinic and he will charge me the same. I read some of the reviews and alot of people have said it's expensive. Well there should never be to high a price for the one you love. A pet is like a child, and if you want good service you may have to pay a bit more. I don't think the prices are bad I think there actually pretty decent. I highly recommend him. He's a great vet. My son & I have been taking our English Bulldog Nena for the past 3 years to Pou Veterinary!  English Bulldogs are prone to snuffling, wheezing, grunting, loud snoring & our Nena was no exception, that was until we started going to Pou Veterinary.  Dr. Pou expertise have been priceless, our Nena now has her wheezing, grunting & snoring under control.  The staff is courteous, professional & very friendly, I even told the lady in the front desk that it was truly a pleasure taking Nena to them.  The office is always clean & updated unlike the prior Doctor that was there before.  Thank you Dr. Pou for giving your cell number to my son, & we thank you for always responding promptly !!  I have referred my family and friends to Pou Veterinary and they are also extremely happy with them. I have three beautiful Pomeranians.......My favorite thing about this clinic is their love for animals.  If I am having financial issues they do the best they can at suggesting other methods that will help in aiding my dogs until I can come in.My oldest dog had really bad, bad...I'm talking bad teeth.  I was scared to do a teeth cleaning because I had a dog teeth cleaning gone very wrong at another Vet's Office and my dog died because of it.  Dr. Pou did everything possible to make me comfortable with this decision.  He told me that my dog would feel so much better and that even his character would improve.  I've got to say.....he was so right.  My dog is doing wonderful and is so much happier since we removed most of his teeth that couldn't be saved.  My dog has a lot of different health issues, like a Clapsed Tracea (not sure if that is spelled right) and the meds he has placed him on has certainly helped with the coughing.  The staff is great and Sal is my favorite...... Dr. Pou is great with my dogs and my dogs are a challenge for any vet. the on site groomer also did a very good job. The service is excellent and the prices are standard and even below other vet prices in Miami. Unfortunately, unhappy clients are usually faster to leave bad reviews Vs. happy clients. In response to these other bad reviews; This is is obviously not the Humane society people!! Seeing and reading these other reviews has me scratching my head. If you really want to nickle and dime around your beloved pets/family members, well then you need to have a reality check. If a person in your family, or you need a medication for a life threatening situation, would you haggle about $25 on medication? Come on people. You want a quality vet, with guarantees that the medication was stored in adequate place/temperatures and is not expired? Do you want your Pet to be in great hands in situations where your pet is going to be under a lot of stress? well if you want quality care for your pets, I can recommend Pou Vet group. If you really want to risk your pets life by waiting an extra 2 days minimum for an online delivery for a 20$ savings by ordering meds online, well then you should probably not have a pet! Read Less

Dr. Pou is among the select few people that I trust with my French Bulldog, Bruno. He has always taken such great care of Bruno, seeing him on short notice, answering our emails late at night and giving us the best advise for maintaining our pup's health. Since French Bulldogs are prone to a few health problems- Dr. Pou is always attentive and careful in the treatments he chooses for Bruno. I found a Groupon for this office, so decided to give them a try. What I saved on the visit, I  more than made up for on their price mark up on meds. $158 on 4 meds, including anti nauseaus? Our dog wasn't vomiting. She ate a pistachio shell, and had blood in her stool. Also, $55 for an over the counter probiotic which I found on Amazon for $19.99. My 19 year old daughter was completely taken advantage of. She trusted what they told her. She was misled. I called the office today and spoke to Dr. Pou. No help there. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this office. I am pretty shocked at the lack of customer service. I should have read the reviews before hand, as I  see several others have experienced the same issue. Lesson learned. Read Less

Terrible front office staff. Not very bright at the front office. They messed up my dog's vaccine records  and did not send them in. Now I have to go to court to fight a $250.00 fine because their dumb front office staff didn't send in my dog's rabies records. Don't go there, they'll mess up your records and you'll have to spend a day downtown fighting a fine. Used to be better before when it was Wander Animal  Hospital. Read Less

They messed up my appointment but they accepted me even on Sunday ! The reason why I chose here for dog boarding because it is very close to my house. It is a little expensive than petco and pet smart . They did not weigh my dog and just thought my dog is over 61lb but he is only 42 lb after they wighted him . I happen to purchase  a new puppy for my wife. While at Pets mart we happen to see this veterinarians office 2 stores away.. We live close and figured  we would have the puppy checked and start it's required  shots.  Instead of taking it to our vet the following day...Wow!!! What a mistake.  It felt like i was at a used car lot. Everyone  from the girls at the receptionist desk to the cleaning lady all were trying to sell me the "Package "were I get all sorts of discounts, benefits and I can even email the doctor  for an emergency.  Blah. Blah. Blah.  By the way we still haven't  been seen by the doctor. After our meeting with the doctor he advised us to talk to the girls about this once in a lifetime care "Package" for your puppy. Of course  i paid for it.. So i left with $575.00 less than what i came in with.I took my puppy for its 2nd shot and expected  to pay a co-pay or a small deductible.  WRONG... they stuck me with a $118.00 bill saying that's not covered in "Package" So like an ass I paid again. So now here we go for the 3rd visit of 4 in this wonderful "Package" deal I got ripped off on.Since I was busy, yes I have a life doc. And did not make it 2 weeks later it was 4 weeks later instead now the doctor tells me i screwed up and took to long so we would have to start all the shots over  in a backward order. So it would only cost me $254.00 for this visit. I paid another $118.00 after arguing the $254.00 price and promised  never to return Well what can I say ??I'm the idiot who went back  expecting  a different result from the same crook. I thought a Vet was someone who cared about the well being of animals and it's owners. Not $$$$$$$$$$. Yes you studied to become a doctor and you deserve nice things but im not making your monthly porsche payment. U can rip off someone else. I had the good fortune of adopting a gorgeous Belgian Malinois from Pou veterinary and their attention and care for my animal and other customers pets as I have witnessed is 2nd to none. It is clear that the doctor and staff have a passion and care about animals because many times I have seen customers walk in and the staff know all pets by name and are happy to see the pets back. If you want a veterinarian that will treat your pet understanding they are a family member to you and not just an animal, I highly recommend Dr. Pou. Very pleasant staff as well :) Read Less

They take your dog to the back where you can not see what is going on how does one even know that they are really giving my dog the shots. I cannot tell you how grateful I am that I ended up bringing my dog to Dr. Pou!  My dog suddenly started having trouble walking and standing.  I rushed him to one vet who gave me a wrong diagnosis, then I took him to another vet who was too busy to give my dog much attention. Finally, someone referred me to Dr. Pou. At this point, my dog couldn't so much as lift his head.  Dr. Pou saw us immediately, and was able to bring in a specialist to perform a variety of tests.  Through a spinal tap, they found out my dog had Canine Distemper, which can be fatal, especially with how badly it had affected my dog (at this point he was almost paralysed). In fact, the specialist told us we'd have to put him down. I was completely distraught. However, Dr. Pou didn't give up on him! I left my dog there for 4 nights while they treated him. They called me each morning to give me updates. They invited me to visit whenever I wanted. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They treated my dog like it was one of their own. After several days, thanks to their treatment, my dog started to walk again.  It's now about three weeks later, and incredibly my dog is back to 100%!I am confident that if I took my dog anywhere else, my dog would not be alive!  Thank you Dr. Pou!  I will be recommending Pou Veterinary to everyone I know. Stay away from this place.  A total scam!  Prices are insanely high. I took my baby there because he wasn't feeling well and started having seizures (this wasn't the 1st time he's had them). I went to the 1st place I could find, and they saw me, even with no appointment. Dr. Pou was awesome! He diagnosed immediately that my dog had distemper (when the last 2 vets I've been to never did). His staff walked me through every step of what to expect with him in the future, and advised me of what medications he was going to need for now and for long term. They explained everything in super detail and the prices seemed average, if not less than places like Knowles or Sabal Chase. I'm sooo happy I found him (and he's cute ladies - but married :( !! Oh!! And the office doesn't even smell like a vet office! It smells really good, and everything was really clean. Dr. Pou saved both of our dogs, Gaston and Belle. Puppy mill was under feeding Gaston to sell him as a toy yorkie. the dog weighed 1 pound! After 20 visits the Other vet (who partnered up with the puppy mill) kept feeding him food that made him worse. One visit with Dr.Pou and my dogs health was better. I have been going to this clinic since it was Wander Animal Hospital for care of my four cats. Recently I've been taking care of a new kitten found in the street. It appeared that he had some kind of respiratory infection and a skin parasite. I called the Pou clinic around 9 or 9:30 a.m. on a Saturday and was able to get an appointment for 11:30 a.m. I definitely give them credit for this because it can be difficult to get a same day appointment at vet clinics. When I arrived I filled out some paperwork for the kitten and waited about 10 minutes to be seen. Dr. Pou (I think that's who I saw) was friendly and helpful. The issues with the kitten were pretty straightforward so the examination wasn't too long. They offered to wash him since he has mites, and I waited in the reception area while this was done. The bill was pretty pricey but I have just come to expect that at vet clinics. As an animal lover I have owned many pets over the years. Of course that means lots of visits to the vet and lots of money spent. That's just the way it goes. Can you buy some of these medicines online for cheaper? Probably. But I think it's standard procedure to receive these items at a mark-up at a vet clinic. Overall, yes I wish the price was lower, but I was still happy with the service. They add random overpriced over-the-counter medicines to your bill such as Liqui-tinic 4x and Ecto-SOO3x for an overwhelming price of $45.05 when you can find the same one online for 6.99 (146.2721% increase) and 8.47 (136.6966% increase) respectively! I feel totally ripped off.EDIT: After owner figured out who I was, they first became aggressive over the phone about the review after I called the day before my last appointment to give my puppy her prepaid shots. After I told them over and over that I wouldn't talk about the review over the phone and I would do it in person they agreed to confirm my appointment.When I visited the next day,before they gave my puppy her last shots, Mr. Pou confronted me and told me about how great he was and how many TV channels he has been broadcasted on and how wrong (and alone) in my opinion I was. He never responded to my price inquiries and continued to downplay me with the "Big-box retailer" excuse. He never offered an apology nor did he attempt to fix the issue. He offered to give me the name of the heartworm medication required for my puppy so that I may purchase it online but never did give me the information, they also never complied when I requested the name of the dewormer he used when treating my puppy.Mr. Pou also implied legal action against me for my review, pointing out that the other negative reviews must be from people I know. To top it off, I was given a fat package before I left with articles from Peteducation.com as to point out my alleged ignorance of veterinarian medicine. The vet office was surprisingly good/clean and in a convenient location from the highway. I got a groupon deal which included the vet visit, fecal exam, dewormer and vaccines. The staff are friendly and not pushy which you get in some vet offices. I was attended quickly & professionally. Dr. Pou and his staff are miracle workers! I was told that my Yorkie, Gaston, should have never lived past his first few months. He had diarrhea that lasted months at a time. He would not eat. I went to other Vet's and spent sooo much and was never able to get help for my pup, until I got to Dr. Pou. He not only helped my dog, but truly gave him a chance at a wonderful life. We had the most wonderful experience at Pou Vet Group. Our dog was lost for 6 days and as soon as we found him we called them. They took us in even though it was already late in the day and took great care of our doggy. Our dog had a broken leg from being hit by a car. Dr. Pou made us feel great relief and took xrays right away, we left him over night to have surgery on the next day. 2 weeks later our pup was back on his paws playing and running around as he recovered, and by now he's almost 100%. Do not bring your pets here, if you love them. It is a place full of hypocrisy and overpriced hatred. Pou has absolutely no love for animals and he does not truly care as he claims he does. All he wants is the credibility and the money. My dog could have lived but because of him, she has passed away.
