Vca Brickell Animal Hospital

I started coming here since 2016. I was not very happy with the services they provided and the higher prices they had. However, the doctors were good and caring in addition to it being the closest to my house, I didn’t look for others. I came here this Thursday to get a travel certificate for Morocco. It took me 3 hours to get my dog examined, get the vaccine, and the papers done. Although it’s still a lot, I understand since we did not have an appointment and we were received as a walk-in. After getting everything done, on my way to the car I opened her passport and thankfully saw that the employee had dated the vaccine to 2017 instead 2018. Thankfully I saw it, otherwise I could have had a lot of trouble in the airport. Since the last page of the travel certificate must be signed 24 hours or less before the departure time, so they scheduled an appointment for Saturday at 4:30. Once I got to check-in, I was told that I needed to wait up to 1 hour approximately since I did not have an appointment. Now, because of one of your employees mistake why do I have to go through the consequences ? Why not try to fix the issue? There’s no customer service at all. The doctors are good and nice, there is nothing to complain about. Most of the employees are unprofessional and need immediate training !! Do I need to mention the stress that my dog had been going thru during all that loooong waiting time?! Now think about it for a second you have less then one day before living the country, you’ve got everything planned so there’s a specific time that you devoted to your pet’s exam. You go to their office, tell you have an appointment and it turns out that the lady forgot to note the appointment. So all your plans get ruined :/. After all that happened, I think I’ll give a try to the veterinarian in Brickell Bay because this last issue was so frustrating. Lastly, please do not attempt to write an apology message, you’ve already done that verbally about twenty times, and it does not help fix anything. I have taken my pet to this location for the same exact reason for over 10 times and paid thousands of dollars. Doctors are careless, they dont really go deep down to the solution of the issue and the manager of the clinic is the worst, money hungry, disrespectful, disgrace to human kind. I have a blue french bulldog and he has been in the clinic for over 15 times for the same exact bloody stool health condition. All they did was giving the same medicine over and over and testing him like he is a test mice. I have asked them gently many times to go deep down to the issue, but there was absolutely NO understanding or empathy towards what i have asked. How can someone try the same exact treatment and expect different results. This is the definition of insanity. Please stay away from this disgusting place to avoid further complications that could happen to your pet and hits on your wallet. Every time you go there, they will charge random fees, and check ups and upcharge everything very highly. Their doctor line up consist of very old doctors that cant even perform the right treatment to the patients. Quote on quote line from one of their doctor " i have to try every single medicine and test out there to figure out and fix his health condition" This makes me think that she got her diploma from 7/11. I have to give VCA tremendous credit for their help with the dramatic end of my beloved Maltese's life. I had avoided the inevitable for a long time, and of course the beginning of the end would come in the middle of the night on a Saturday night, when she started having seizures for the first time in her nearly 15 years. My regular vet was not open on Sunday morning and despite calling everyone in the tri-county area, I couldn't find anyone to come and put her out of her pain. I also couldn't find anyone to watch my toddler son & shield him from the novela that was about to unfold. VCA was amazing, if anything can be amazing in this situation. They worked us in quickly on Sunday morning, gave me options in case I thought the dog could fight on, but respected my decision that it was time. The nurses kept my son entertained while I said goodbye and everyone was extremely compassionate. They even took time to talk me through it when I kept calling afterward. Everyone who has a pet will have to face this day eventually, so make sure you choose a compassionate doctor. Read Less

All they want is up up charge. Took my 2 cats in for some issues. They took a urine test , 60.00 then told Iay need meds but need another "GOLD STANDARD "urine test for another 99.00 then got another email about another test for another fee. They can't give me the prescription unless I get the other test. No wonder they give first visit is free they make it back. Beware of this place all I needed was the meds to help now I have to try and find them on the internet. The one thing I absolutely loved was the rooms have glass doors which allowed my dog to see who was entering before they came in. It seems insignificant but made her visit so much easier than previous visits at different locations. Dr. Rivera is the absolute best! Read Less

We have been bringing our dogs here for two years and only have wonderful things to say about the vets and staff. They have always been professional, helpful, and above all caring. Several years ago I adopted a senior dog with multiple health issues and my husband and I tried our best to get him healthy and happy again after so many years of medical neglect. Unfortunately there was only so much we could do for his heart and he passed away a few months ago. I didn't want to say goodbye to him at a vet but had no choice since he was suffering at the end. Once we brought him in to hospital though everyone there was so thoughtful and accommodating that not only did it calm him down a bit but also helped me come to terms that I was making the right decision. That day was one of the worst days of my life and yet somehow the vets and staff at VCA Brickell helped me get through it. A day later I received a condolence card from their team and everyone wrote a loving note about my Nevada and it brought me to tears. I still can't believe how fortunate we were to find the right vet and to have them be there for us when we needed them most. I recommend this vet to any animal lover who is looking for a medical team that cares with all their hearts for our furry friends. Read Less

Took my cat in for an emergency visit. Everyone was so accommodating and wonderful and made sure my cat got everything he needed and also took into consideration my financial situation - they took him in right away and were very attentive and gentle to him - I would recommend them to anyone. Without doubt. When their staff tend to your dog they show how much they care and also offer you cheaper medicine options if available and with better possible results on your pet. Very skillful staff and pretty cool receptionist. I would recommend this place.Read Less

Dr. Wilbur is without a doubt the best veterinarian I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I've been to many vets over the years and no one cares more about what they do than she does. Dr. Wilber is easily the best veterinarian that I have ever dealt with in my entire life. She has amazing bedside manner, and will answer every, single, question that you have, irregardless of how small or simple it may sound to you. They do really take care of you and your dog in the best possible way. I ever got a massive bag of free stuff when I brought my puppy in for vaccines. Dr Wilbur, her Assistant: Marisol, and her Office Manager: Marsha exemplify "An Animal Hospital in Heaven!" It is ineffable to describe the depth and aurora of their concern and caring for my cat. No little detail is too much for them to listen to and attend to, and believe me I tell them everything! Very good pet clinic. Amazing doctors. Really helpful and charismatics. If you happen to loose a dog you'll appreciate be treated nicely, and they did it with us. They only thing I don't like about this place is that if you have to leave your pet at night there they will be alone.Read Less

We had a terrible experience with this vet. Not one week after an annual checkup, our dog had to go back in for vomiting and an infection. Overall, we felt taken advantage of and will not be returning here. Read Less

Dr. Wilber and the staff here are absolutely phenomenal. They are knowledgable and compassionate. They truly care about the welfare of every animal. I wouldn't take my pets or resident rescues anywhere else. Read Less

I made the mistake of not going there first and wasted hundreds of dollars on other vets who didn't have the knowledge that Dr. Wilbur has. Everybody there is compassionate and kind with both my kitty and myself. Dealing with my cat's kidney failure is overwhelmingly but they make it easier for me to cope with a disease that is chronic and exhausting. They hold my hand when I cry and treat my cat with so much love. With their help and patience I'm learning how to provide the home treatment required to hopefully prolong my kitty's life for quite some time. The other vet, Dr. Saldana, is amazing and so is the entire staff there. The facility is very nice, the wait isn't long, and their prices are fair. The other place nearby with a similar name was a horrible experience and traumatic for my cat. He was pulling his hair out from the stress he endured. I would highly recommend this clinic. I went in looking for help with what I thought was a relatively minor issue with one of my dogs on a holiday weekend Sunday that turned out to be a much more serious diagnosis. But everyone, from the techs to Dr. Saldana, were great the entire time. Friendly, courteous, professional, and compassionate. They did whatever possible to make my shy dog feel less uncomfortable through the physical exam and all the diagnostic tests, and they were very kind but straightforward with me. I feel as though some vets rush through things like a physical exam but I found Dr. Saldana to be thorough and meticulous, which I absolutely appreciate. Its great when you can tell people care as much about your pets as you do. I plan to return for any routine care my dogs may need in the future.Read Less

very disappointed I go over to get a quote for boarding and they give me a price of $32 which I thought was a very good price. I asked them what else was needed and they also ask me if my dog has his shot I show them the proof and they said he has all of them except one I asked for a price on that and they say $25 for the shot and $50 for a check up mind you I'm only looking for boarding. I call my vet and get a quote for the same shot and it's $18 only no check up, no BS. Unfortunately they couldn't see until Saturday but I would be out of town by then so i agree to him to bring him even thou they where overcharging. So I bring my dog for the shot, when I'm getting ready to pay they say it's going to be $188.99 big difference from the initial $75. Three extra charges where added $27.50 for fecal test $31 for heart worm test, and $54.99 for heart worm pills. I told them I never agreed to these thing and they said they could only remove the heart worm test and pills, the fecal test is mandatory. i told them i only wanted the shot that is needed for the boarding. At the end they only charger me for the shot and the check up. i come back the next day to leave my dog for boarding on Saturday my friend that works there send me a pic of my dog tells me everything is ok. Sunday the leave me a message saying that my dog has hook worms and he had diarrhea, before i took him he didn't have diarrhea. they me they have to treat him i asked how much is it they said its going to be $30 i said ok. i get there to pick up my dog and i see my bill and they put back the fecal test charge $27.50 . so at the end of it all i get charged $250+, my dog's nose is completely red almost bleeding, they say he destroyed his chew toy but he's had for a month now, and he has blood in his stool which was not there when i dropped him of i think that's BS. so unless your rich or don't give a fuck about getting ripped off i suggest you don't bring your pets hereRead Less
