They staff were extremely welcoming and pleasant and Dr. Berisha was extremely personable, spent time to get to know Mia, and was very thorough. Mia received a vaccination. The entire staff at Micanopy Animal Hospital is so dedicated to making sure they provide your animal with the best possible care, and it shows even in the most routine of visits. They are patient with dog-moms that are full of questions and calling five times a day to check on their pets. They were so attentive the entire time Apollo was in their care, I don't think he would've made it had I taken him anywhere else. Now, I swear it's one of his favorite places to go! Amazing clinic. We are snowbirds and have the required shots and annual physical performed here on our Yorkie. The cost would be substantially more in Canada. The staff and veterinarians are wonderful, and always call the next day to follow up. I highly recommend them. Read Less

No animal doctor has a bigger heart than Dr Pearson. The o office in exam rooms are all clean animals listed for adoption plus they sell food treats toys medicine at all great prices. Extremely nice staff and a comfort room when it's time for your pet to go to heaven to help make it a little more like home during that rough time. Received a phone call while on vacation from kennel staff stating they would not administer heart worm medicine because they couldn't verify I'd ever had my dog on heart worm prevention. The exact same scenario had happened six months prior and documentation was given but apparently never noted in my pet's file. The punchline is that I'd spent several hundred dollars at Micanopy Animal Hospital on this same dog. He was a rescue from Alachua County Animal Services. He was old and blind. I had found him and placed an adoption application on him just-in-case his owner didn't get him. Sure enough, the dog was about to be put down when the shelter manager called me. He rattled off a list of health problems but I said I would adopt despite the dog's health problems. He asked me again, "Are you sure about this? It's going to be a lot of money." I agreed. On February 14, 2017 we celebrated six years of friendship and a healthy past. Not sure I understand why my last call from Jessie at Micanopy was a message that asked, "How I got my hands on the medicine?" Not sure these folks understand what customer service is or how to talk to pet parents without being condescending or judgemental. Dr. Trysh Hamilton and the staff at MAH are phenomenal! This past year I've been a "frequent flyer" client at the clinic in efforts to try to make our senior cat Munchkin comfortable. He was diagnosed with diabetes, and the management of this disease has been difficult. But my many calls and visits to Dr. Hamilton always left me buoyed with fresh optimism as she was relentless finding new avenues to try in his treatment. I am overjoyed, literally, to say Munchkin has been feeling like his old self again and I attribute this to the sincere and loving care he gets from Dr. Hamilton. We were a little tentative about bringing our pets here at first because our neighbors had complained how expensive they were.  Our visit with Ming was just the opposite.  Ming our 6 yr old cat was very ill and Mrs Pearson the Vet and owner quickly tested and diagnosed him with severe constipation.  She and the staff promptly treated him and we took him back home feeling good again and the bill was not bad but fair for the tests and treatment they performed.  We had been to many Vets over the years and Micanopy animal hospital was reasonable in the amount they charged us, and more importantly the care was excellent! I took my dog here for his first check up since moving to Gainesville and I was not impressed. The service was average and the vet did not seem to know a lot about fleas and flea season in general... I also find it very suspicious that this little known clinic got so many positive reviews around the same time they got very 2 negative reviews... I don't trust this clinic very much and would not have taken my dog there had I noticed the boosted ratings beforehand. Read Less

This is an amazing place. I began taking my cat, Fiorella, when she was a very small kitten to this clinic. Fio was lethargic and very sick a few days after taking her home. I went the THREE other vets in Ocala and was told to put her down or that they couldn't help. I finally took her to Micanopy Animals Hospital because my mother swears by the staff there. At the clinic the doctors only had to take a quick look to understand what was wrong and had a plan of action ready. Fio recovered and I was informed that she had a life long condition called mega-colon I yes it is a real thing!) that affects tailless cats. I had everything explained to me and how to check her everyday to avoid anymore emergency situations. This was over two years ago and the dedication of the doctors and amazing staff is still the same. Unfortunately, I had to rehome my beloved little baby girl Fiorella and reached out to the clinic for help. I refused to give her to someone who didn't understand her condition and how serious it is. I asked if there was a program to find her a lasting home where she would thrive. I received a response within a week saying the clinic would be happy to help in finding Fio a good home. I sadly dropped my precious girl off a few days ago and was told that a staff member was already willing to foster Fio. I was given the option to check in on Fio whenever I wanted and be kept in touch with her adoption process whenever there was a change. I am crushed I had to let Fiorella go, but I have no doubt my girl is in the best of hands and the only ones I trust to find her a wonderful home. The staff here is more than just a nice group of people, they care, understand , and truly want the best for the furry loved ones brought to them. This clinic will not let you down.Read Less

This used to be the best place, but lately things have changed;I order food and pre pay and they don't call me to tell me it was in, I call the day after I was told it would be in and it is sold to someone else. I had to go out of my way to get the food from somewhere else and ended up paying 35.00 more than what I had already paid out for it here! The price of medicine keeps going up. The same medicine ( I did a price check) is 10.00 cheaper at another location. Nothing personal, just business. Read Less

Dr. Molly Pearson is a great vet. She is caring and gentle and all of my animals like her a great deal. When my 12 year old shepherd was dying, she bravely told me so and didn't try to go into heroic measures, which would have cost me a lot of money. She told me the truth. The only reason I'm not giving them five stars is because of one of the other vets who put my shepherd to sleep. I brought her in and she was in the back of the car (she wouldn't walk in, she was so weak). The vet on duty kept me waiting 45 minutes in the parking lot while she took other patients in the waiting room. She also asked me to move the car to the far end of the lot so other people wouldn't see what was happening. I resented this. Everyone who has a pet knows that the time comes when they need to be released from this world. I was upset of course already and the waiting (in the rain no less) just made everything worse. It was a sad time and the waiting was torture. But every time I've seen Dr. Pearson, she has been fantastic. It's a long drive from Gainesville but Dr. Pearson is great and the charges have been reasonable. Read Less
