Great customer service with staff that shows love for your pets. Being a very picky client this is the only Animal Clinic I'm comfortable with leaving my dog. They gave me a wrong estimate for neutering and declawing, and by wrong I mean $85 different. When I told them about this I was with a very nasty, rude and unpleasant secretary. The service wasn't cordial at all. Wouldn not recommend unless you happen to meet a nicer employee. Read Less

Awful.  Worst vet I've ever encountered.    Gave my dog antibiotics for $129 for an ear infection and then when I questioned the price said "what? you can't afford it?".  Such a rude, rude woman.  Before that had my dog neutered there and was quoted one price and then charged way more.  Horrible business practices. They are the BEST! I travel an hour one way to go to Dr. Schooley. She and her staff genuinely care about you and your animals. I get called weekly to check up on my animals after my visit. I have a rescue and found 2 kittens on the road, she let me bring them in right away and she took tremendous care of them. Financially she will help you out in any way she can as she is not about money, but about the care of the animals. I understand the cost factor involved in caring for animals being in rescue so I understand that anything that a For Profit Vet can do or give is wonderful as nothing is free and everything cost a lot. I once read somewhere that to be a good veterinarian you have to care about people. Dr Schooley really cares about you and your pet. She is genuine, honest, smart and thorough. I wish I had known of her earlier, I think my Sheba would still have a few more years with me. I would have been more educated on how to care for her. D. Schooley is a wonderful, compassionate and knowledgeable Veterinarian. She really cares about YOU and your pet. In our case having owned sharpeis (4) over a twenty year span, we have had numerous problems which is generic to the breed. Our sweet Beyonce age 3 our latest is the nicest, sweetist one so far but unfortunately poorly bred. After consulting with several Vets in the area no one knew what her problem was and she was suffering with various symptoms. Dr. Schooley correctly addressed her problems, told us possible treatments and explained various risks inherent in her eighth surgery in 2.5 years. To make a long story short she correctly diagnosed the problem and made sure she had the best surgeon in the area on call. She also followed up with us and the surgeon, closely monitoring Beyonce's post surgical care. She is a true professional and a wonderful human being and we are truly appreciative of her care for our pups and her concern for us.. We have used her for our labrador, Taz as well and he and Beyonce are now doing great. I unequivocally recommend her to take care of your pets and know that she will give your pets the best possible care. What can I say say about Dr. Mary Schooley....back in 1981 when she took care and saved our African Grey Pepito.. Then we adopted from her office a black rabbit and two calico cats, kit Kat and Reese's, in the mid 1990 as well as our black cat tiger, she managed to always make them better... Our red and blue macaw Lorenzo and Max were also her patients for many years... Rufo our beloved beagle for 18 years until he past away... I thank God for putting Dr. Schooley in our lives and THANK her, for always coming to the right conclusion and solution in making our pets better!!!!! Now we have two beagles Charlie and Mollie, as well as a cockatoo Luna, Resses the cat, Bruno the boxer and Duke the Great Dane...all of my pets healthy in the loving and caring hands of Dr Mary Schooley.....Read Less

I recently moved here with two older dogs. One had not walked in almost a year. We had been trying to manage her care but she getting worse. Schooly was very hands-on and could tell right away what the problem was. She told me, "I don't want you spending your money here, I'm going to send you to someone who can help." She made an appointment right there with a specialist in Fort Lauderdale who was just what we needed. The specialist told us there was nothing that could be done for our immobile dog, she would never walk again. The dog was developing other health issues due to being bed-ridden. We ultimately decided to take her back to Schooley to have the dog euthanized.  That same day our other dog was not looking so well. We took him in to Schooley. He was severely anemic and needed a blood transfusion. They have a blood donor right there in the office. He is a big 'ol German Shepherd named Hank. So we got some Hank-blood and our dog was looking great again. Schooley made an appointment to have an ultrasound for our dog to see why our dog had gotten so sick. The ultrasound tech met with us there. Our dog had a massive tumor wrapped around his spleen and other organs. Even with surgery, he wouldn't live more than a few months. He got sick two weeks later and was euthanized. Schooley was great, not only with us, but to my children as well. These kids had just lost both their dogs they had known there whole lives in just two weeks. Schooley was sweet and compassionate to them. She has like 6 kids of her own, so she has a lot of experience.  Now we have two new dogs, one is an older puppy. I've had to bring her in a few times already because she is one hot mess. The pup had developed a huge lump on the top of her head. Schooley felt the pup's head and could tell she had chipped her skull. We didn't need to waste money on xrays. Strict cage-rest for puppy that we could do at home and meds. A few months later, same puppy ate a needle. Took an xray, saw the needle. Schooley advised bulking up her stool so pup could pass the needle without surgery. Took pup in a few days later for another xray, needle is gone. No surgery needed.  Schooley is a good, 'ol country gal from Alabama with a bunch of kids and animals. She's honest and a straight talker. She's not going to try to confuse you with technical terms. She makes sure your family understands exactly whats going on with your furbabies.  Last but definitely not least, Sunset Lakes animal hospital team is super. Do they ever sleep? Dr. Schooley and her amazing miracle working staff did it again! They just brought my cat Bob back from the brink of death. He had critical pneumonia and now he's home and on the mend.
