Bella and I absolutely adore the doctor and staff. They have a sincere love for animals and you can see it in what they do. I have been using this vet for years and I am very dissatisfied with the professionalism of the current staff. I took my puppy to get fixed and they didn't give post op instructions. Only talked to the vet when he called to say everything went fine with surgery for a brief second and I had to call and find out about feeding, stitches, and everything else. Basically took my money gave me my dog and that was it. I am considering finding another vet that is more interested in there job and the well being of my dog.. I miss Dr. Purvis!!! Read Less

Very disappointed with my recent service at Animal Medical Clinic - I have been bringing my dog Deuce here for several years now. I noticed a cyst-like lump on his leg about a week ago, and yesterday I went here to purchase a monthly heartworm pill for Deuce (as I do every month). I decided I would take Deuce in with me today, and ask to speak to a vet for just a minute to see if this is something I should be concerned with, to see if I should make an appointment to have a biopsy. So I ask the new girl at the front desk if I can briefly speak to a vet about this issue, and she tells me that I can't speak with the vet - that I would have to make an appointment. After asking her several times and getting refused several times, I buy my heartworm pill, then tell her one last time that I can't believe I can't even speak to a vet for just a minute without an appointment, and what poor customer service this was. She refused me one more time, and I told her that I may just take Deuce somewhere else for this biopsy out of principle alone, and I would be sure to let everyone know. She said that they were perfectly fine with that. What kind of small-town, know-you-by-name service is this? It's not like I'm a stranger coming in off the streets, for the first time - I am a long-time customer, and local resident. Very disappointed with my visit. Very disappointed indeedRead Less

Love AMC, our family has been using this vet for over 15 years now and I refer all of friends here too. Over the years we've had tears and times for celebration. Their prices are very reasonable, and they're always upfront about the cost. I've also had very sick pet called on a Sunday and they immediately met me there without any negative attitudes. Very bad experience with this place. called and asked about getting in an adopted pet to have a check up was informed to come by anytime between eight and five and be happy to look at the animal. loading up my animal took a day off from work went by walked in with the animal they asked who I was I gave my name and told them that I was there to have my new adopted dog get a checkup I was rudely informed that I could not just walk in with an animal to have them checked and I had to have an appointment. I inform them of what I had been told by phone and was again very rudely spoken to and told that apparently we just had not made our self clear and what we wanted to do and never offer any help any suggestions other than to say you can bring them back at a later time once you make an appointment. so I left with my animal done a search for other veterinarians in the area found a vet on the north side of town I called them they asked me to stop by they come out they welcome my animal they both of the technician took time to come pick her and talk with her they done all the paperwork setting her up for her appointment so that I could bring her by at my convenience to have her checked so needless to say I have found a veterinarian that does care about animals and work with the animals owners. Yesterday, I noticed a calf developing bloat, an emergency situation, so I called Matt Davis, DMV, whose office, Animal Medical Clinic, is nearby. The receptionist, Sue, said he would call me right back. He didn't, so I called again at 4pm. Sue said, "He has your note." The calf suffered through the night and died at 10am this morning, so I called his office to tell them the calf was dead & I no longer needed their services. Sue went to get Dr. Davis, but he was too busy to talk to me. I received no apology. Sue simply said, "Your note got lost in the shuffle." This experience tells me that my calf died because of disorganization in that office, plus the absence of an apology reveals a lack of compassion. Beware. Read Less

Simply the best.  I have had many pets that have lived long lives and have changed veterinarians several times until I found the Animal Medical Clinic.  Not only do I feel as if my pets receive the best in care, but their fees are reasonable - not the excessive gouging you find at many Tallahassee Veterinarians.  The Animal Medical Clinic Veterinarians, assistants, and front office staff are genuinely caring and compassionate.  No matter where you live, you will feel confident in the medical care for your pets with this clinic. I've been using AMC for years,.. they are straight forward in their care and honest in their opinions.  They have been willing to work with us on sick animals, but also honest enough to tell us when it was time to make a decision on a loved one.  I have also been impressed that they don't push dental care/cleaning annual (which seems to be the revenue producer with other vets).  I asked Dr. Purvis why they didn't and have a brief laugh, said that most animals outlive their teeth if they are on good diets.  All three of the Doctors are great,.. worth the drive from Tallahassee if you are looking for a country vet.
