There is no where else in the world, that I would take my pet to get a check up. I first heard about them from a neighbor and decided to go check them out. It's now been a few years and I have not visited another veterinary clinic since. Their prices for their services are completely reasonable and the staff are very up-front with you about it. The staff is also very nice and helpful! My favorite is Dr. Pryor and Dr. Weber, who have always taken such good care of my pet. The veterinarian techs there have also always made sure to keep me and my pet very comfortable.The number one tip I would give is that you DEFINITELY should get here at least a couple hours before they open, if you do not want to wait for hours at a time. Even before they open at 8, there are at least 10-15 people waiting in line already. They are under a first-come, first-serve basis so they do not take appointments, unless it is for a major procedure. The normal wait time is approximately 1-2 hours, but you could be waiting up to 3+ hours if they're really busy! Read Less

Lake Vet is a really great place to take your pets. It’s a walk-in clinic so most of the time you will have to wait quite a while. Be sure to get there early to secure a spot. Also, there is no charge for the office visit, you only pay for medications, labs and imaging (if needed) so I normally walk out of there owing around $10-15 for pet meds and that’s it. A lot of people complain about the wait but it’s better than paying a $150 office visit unless you have money to burn. Read Less

I couldn't be more pleased with this vet office. The prices alone would make me choose them above anyone else. I went to another vet recently and had a good experience, but they were triple the cost of Lake Vet. My vet was great, it was Dr. Oakes. He took care of my whole litter of puppies and was super gentle and loving. We also loved Donna. She was quirky and fun to hang out in the room with until the doctor came in. The only drawback of this clinic is that they don't take appointments. If you want to be one of the first seen then you should arrive at least an hour before they open. My suggestion would be to come on Thursdays. They don't do surgeries on this day and they are only open til noon (they see all check-ins before leaving). The last time to check in is at 10:30. I would suggest checking in then because the line has typically slowed down, ask for an estimated wait time, and then go home and grab your pet. This was great for me since I had 7 puppies that I was going to me wresting with. Definitely plan on being here for 2-3 hours but know you will be saving hundreds. I called 5 surrounding vet offices and I saved $600-$800 by coming here. And, they love your pets and the community. It doesn't get any better! Read Less

Lake Vet is affordable but you need to ask up front the costs involved or you could checkout what you think is a simple visit into a couple hundred dollars for a week of meds. There are no visitation fees but don't go in expecting it to be very low cost clinic. Since it is first come first serve, the wait can be up to a few hours. I have seen sick and old dogs outside that I have offered my spot to just so they could receive help sooner. The lobby can get very crowded so some animals may get quite stressed. The staff is mostly quite friendly, especially the intake. There are a couple of DVMs here and like anywhere, they could be impatient and indifferent to caring and thorough depending on their moods. Overall, despite the wait, it is usually the first place we will take the dogs we foster. I would like to give it 3 1/2 stars, with no place being a 5 star location in the area. Read Less

They helped my Shadow when she was extremely ill. I didn't know what was wrong, & they let me walk right in. It was an emergency. My baby wasn't walking because she was in so much pain. This is the best veterinarian clinic in Lake County. Yes, if you don't go early you might have to wait. But the care and compassion that your pet receives is worth the wait. The staff is friendly and caring the veterinarians are outstanding. Are not scheduling appointments they are able to keep the cost of veterinarian service down. I appreciate that. I have been going there for many years I have taken countless pets in 4 care. I have never been disappointed with the service and care that my pets received and that I received. I have always used Newmans, but because of the great care I have received at this vet clinic, I switched all 4 of my dogs to this clinic. I highly recommend Dr. Webber and Dr. Pryer, they both have been so loving and caring with all my fur babies, that I now even bring all my fosters here as well. Dr. Webber saved my Shorty girls eye ball and also my foster girl Teagan ear. Not to mention, Dr Webber was so patient and loving when it came down to sending 2 of my babies over the rainbow bridge. My husband and I have been exceptionally pleased with the compassionate, professional, and knowledgable vets, the great staff, and the very affordable prices. Our 13 yr old lab had a cancerous growth removed earlier this year. Dr. Weber did an outstanding job removing the mass despite it being more extensive and complicated than expected. He could have charged considerably more than originally quoted, but he did not. We were also pleased that the doctors scheduled several follow-up appts. to monitor her healing even though there is no charge for office visits (which is so nice-they prefer money to be spent on treatment). I believe Dr. Oakes was the vet who did the pre-op and follow-up visits and we were very impressed with him. Especially with his great compassion and sensitivity when we unfortunately had to bring her in last week to be put down. That is probably the most difficult part of their jobs, but he, as well as the rest of the staff were so kind and considerate. We are so glad you are here and thanks to a great team!Read Less

I took my dog Toki in today, she's very nervous around other dogs and barks constantly if she's in sight of one. It's a little embarrassing but the staff and Doctor were all so kind and helpful. They let me wait in my car with the AC running and came to get me when they were ready for me. They took extra special care of me and my fur baby. We didn't even wait that long, we were there for maybe two hours tops. I've been to all the vets in this area and no one compares to Lake Vet Clinic! To start the vet that we worked with seemed less than enthusiastic about doing her job and responded to questions with a conplacent, "hungover" attitude. After never talking to me or my boyfriend about whatnis casuing the issue and rather throwing our puppy on steroids and antibiotics, we finally had had enough with dealing with the no-appointment system, where you wait nearly 3 hrs to be rushed out in 10 mins. What a joke! I also, being an individual that has worked with animals for many years, was a little turned off by the lobby environment at this clinic. There were about 8 receptionist/clinic aids in the amall corral for checkin and they were talking as loud as was possible. This poor office behavior was making the animals, having waited for so long, very nervous and upset. What amateurs scream, cackle and holler in a room full of nervous animals? To boot, we decided to take our pup to another vet office that might take his still untreated skin condition seriously. Our new office needed some medical records from Lake Veterinary Clinic to be sent over. Their response? "We will when we have time." Our new vet was a little shocked at their response but, sadly, we were not surprised by their lack of professionalism. Steer clear of this poor excuse of a clinic. I love this Vet clinic and will not go anywhere else. The doctors and staff are very knowledgable, friendly, caring, and take individual time with each patient. It may seem a little strange at first to see the waiting room full, or sometimes even a line out the door, as they do not make appointments and first come first served, but it is definately worth the wait. there is no office vist charge, only what you have done, estimates are given in writing beforehand.When you come in and are greeted at the counter, the techs pull your file, and READs it right then and there... asks questions if the situation is not a routine visit, i.e. vaccinations...My Rottweiller was diagnosed with diabetes and upon return visits, the tech at the front desk asked numerous, pertinant questions about her progress, problems, eating, and more and at the same time wrote very accuratly what I said in the chart. When the vet and all the other techs came in the exam room (to take blood, temp...), they ALL had read the chart and were familiar with her case so I did not have to repeat myself. Wow, what a concept...! The whole team was on the same page, every visit. They take as much time is neccessary to examine your pet, explain what is going on and make sure you understand. Never rushed to push you out the door. They are certianly the Best Veterinarians I have ever been to in my whole life of owning pets.
