I called to make an appointment to have my cat seen for a flea problem. The person who answered the phone didn't even offer an appointment but instead told me I need to treat my mobile home and yard. When I mentioned I can't afford that her response was she had no other suggestion. So I guess those of us with limited resources, who can't afford monthly pest control visits, either have to let our pets suffer or get rid of them? How rude! We love our vet! They take great care of our cats & are always willing to explain everything, answer questions & treat our cats like people. We had 2 put our 14 yr old boy, Snookie, down last Tuesday at 11pm. I called our vet, They were closed of course, but they recommended animal emergemcy of pasco (that's not the name, but it's on US 19 near the mall) & they were great too. Really sad night, but they took good care of him. Our vet has even let us drop off a urine sample for testing when we thought 1 of our cats was a bit "off" w/ out having 2 bring him in since car rides really stressed him out. We've been w/ this vet since Snookie was a kitten, so 14 yrs. I will mention they do not having "discount prices", you are paying for great vet care & it's def not crazy expensive, but it's not cheap either. However, when we found a sick, starved feral cat that we cleaned up & took in, I called our vet for prices for spaying. They keep females overnight to earth them (which is great) & treat them like humans so it can be around $500 there. We just couldn't pay that right then, but instead of saying "ok, sorry", see nicely recommended a new vet that had just opened & was much cheaper. Paws was booked 4 months, so are sent us to Pet First on seven springs blvd & they were great & fixed Kitkat for $65 (including take home meds & microchip) She's a happy 1yr old now & we'll always go to ABC veterinary Read Less

We are very disappointed with Animal's Best Choice. We brought our cat in on 2/6/18 because it was acting different and thought maybe he had a urinary tract infection. He was urinating outside of his litter-box and licking himself. ABC did a urinalysis on him and was told by Dr. Taylor that he had small amounts of crystals in his urine but nothing to worry about. She thought it was more of a "behavioral problem" and gave me some advice on what I could try to have him stop urinating on the floors. About a week later I noticed that he had vomited but thought maybe it was because of this particular can of food we gave him and I noticed that it looked like he was straining to go to the bathroom outside of his litter-box. On Saturday, February 17th I woke up to him lying beside his water bowl. I called the vet to tell them what was going on and was told that they were extremely busy and that my Dr. was not in but would ask the other Dr that was there working if I need to come by and pick-up medicine. They called me back and told me to come in. When I got there the receptionist? was rushing me out the door. I was trying to explain to her and the vet tech what was going on but all she seemed interested in was collecting my money and getting me out the door. I went over with her what was going on...vomiting, lethargic and straining. The vet tech told me that if I feel a grapefruit sized ball in his stomach to bring him in right away. If not, this medicine (that cost $100 and was completely useless) should work by Monday and if he's still acting weird to bring him in. Well guess what???? He died early Sunday morning!!!!! My poor cat was in pain!!! Everything I read on the internet said that when I came in on Saturday morning that he basically only had 24hrs to live. At that point he needed MEDICAL ATTENTION and that it would be inhumane to let your cat go on like that. I cannot tell you how much my fiancé and I are sickened by this. We trusted in them. How come NOT ONE of them saw those signs????? I called to let Dr.Taylor know what had happened and she was dumbfounded and didn't know what to say. I was told that she was going to convey my concerns to the Dr. that was working that morning in hopes that she would call me back. It is now 2 weeks later and I haven't received a phone call and to be honest, now it's too late. We have 2 other animals and clearly now we need to find a new vet. Read Less

I have nothing to say about this place. I was very disappointed. My dog had to be put to sleep eventually. I couldn't see him suffer anymore. They didn't even know what was wrong with him. First visit he had a sore in his mouth. I actually just brought him there for a check up. Wish I could go back to that time.  They put him on antibiotics. We got home he was still fine and ate his dinner. A few hours later he began throwing up blood. I called their office, they were all gone. I left a message. This was a Friday. I sent them an email hoping they would read their emails but no response. They had a number for an emergency, which was a hospital and I called that. I was told not to bring my dog in because there were no doctors there and in morning doctor there had surgery. My dog the following night had two seizures. I called the hospital again and they said nothing could be done and to bring my little Doxie to the vets office first thing Monday morning as soon as they opened, which I did. My poor dog was suffering. His platelets were so low because of all the blood he was throwing up. On Monday morning they gave him anti nauseas medicine, took x rays and said he had to have an aspiration done because his left gland was swollen and they told me it was probably cancer. Well everything came back negative on that. They wanted me to put him in a clinical testing at some other place to do more tests. I refused. I stopped giving him the medicine for throwing up because he had stopped. When I brought him back they said he could get a blood transfusion and would have to come back to their office and stay overnight, but he would be totally alone, by himself. I couldn't bear to see him suffer any more without him being helped. What I should have done was take him out of there. I was so upset and couldn't stand to see him suffer anymore. His platelets were so low from all the blood he had thrown up. The sore in his mouth was gone. The only choice I had was to put him to sleep. I regret what I did. I should of taken him out of there. I miss him so much everyday and sorry I went there to begin with. After they put him to sleep, they even suggested an autopsy. I refused. Read Less

Never had a problem with any of my visits. I have been taking my pets to this Hospital since 2010. A regular if you will. Pet Owners have to realize they need to provide all the care they need, besides what Vet gives when sick or Injured. Monitoring your Pet's Health weekly, even daily, is all part of the Big Picture. Always, have been explained thoroughly what is going on, and then some. Options included. They answer all my questions before any surgery may be involved. Dr. Bogart is the Best Surgeon in this area , and Dr. Taylor has always been there for Appts. I would never take them to another Hosp or Clinic, Unless needed Pasco Animal Emergency , they also provide the best one could ask for. Must stay on top of your Pet's Health for Maximum life expectancy and quality of care or one will run into problems and that can be Too Late, for some unfortunately. Read Less

We have 3 dogs and have been to three different vet clinics in our area.i loved the idea of going to a female vet and both of them are really great doctors. Dr Weston gets down on the floor with my golden retriever- love that! She had surgery and had to stay for the day, I thought she would be a frantic mess, but she was very calm, the staff treat the pets as their own, very reassuring . We wouldn't go anywhere else. Dr. Patricia Weston Bogart has been my furry friend Dr since the early 90s. I never thought I would trust my kids with any other Dr. That is until the Dr Taylor joined Animals Best Choice. What a horrible experience I had over the weekend! My little yorkie who is a patient of record was having problems and needed attention and I was told they were booked and to call the animal emergency....UGG...I would have paid whatever to have the vets that knew her and knew her history see her. What a disappointment that they do not have more compassionate and care! We ended up at Best Care Animal Hospital where even though we were not a patient of record took us right in and took great care of my baby, Sadly to say I lost her over the weekend but thanks to the staff at Best Care Animal Hospital they helped me through it where Animals Best Choice could care less! I have a rescue cat who had been abused and is scared of people,  so I had to find a vet that could handle her.  I was so impressed with Dr Taylor and her assistant Cheryl.  They were WONDERFUL with my cat and the whole visit was less stressful than I thought it would be.  I highly recommend this clinic.  They were great!   And very professional plus they spent plenty of time explaining what they needed to do.
