There is one thing that makes Dr Richmond and his staff above all other veterinarians that is,He is a great doctor with unbelievable knowledge. His first concern is your pet not the bottom line . I cannot begin to tell you what he has done for me and my family. My first time there. Fairly new to Florida. My cat was in serious crisis and needed to find a vet close to me. Googled 5 hospitals within close range, googled them & read reviews. Called & got us in within 30 min. Found the tech and veterinarian very kind & compassionate.Gave me all my options for treatment then gave me several minutes to think & decide. (Never had my human physicians do that for me!) Answered all my questions,gave her injection & medicine to take home. I was VERY impressed with every single staff member I had contact with. (and I was extremely upset , and weeping) So far this is one of the best Veterinary hospital I have been to in the last 45 years! And I have had pets for over 40 years!! I cannot say enough about this vet! I made the switch from my other vet to Country Oaks because I was tired of having a different vet every time and never felt comfortable. Dr. Richmond and Dr. Salazar are such amazing people and are amazing with my boys. They take their time and are very gentle. I was so nervous when my pup had to go in for neutering but they made me feel so comfortable and even sent me a picture of him after he was done! In addition the staff are amazing! This vet is so money hungry they will not authorize a prescription to be filled by ANY online pharmacy. They tell you they are concerned about the quality of the medication and they would just feel horrible if something happened to your pet as a result of a medication for a questionable source. Not buying it. i have delt with trusted online pharmacys for years with no issues. This is their way of trying to squueze another few bucks out of you or should i say double what the online pharmacy wants. I asked about price match they responded NO WAY!!! Read Less

This is the most money hungry vet I have ever dealt with. On my first visit i spent nearly $1000 to have my dogs skin infection treated. The vet seemed very apologetic and said  we don't want you to get the wrong idea normal visits are not nearly this expensive. The second time we again spent over $700 and had the worst care.  I reluctantly took my dog in a third time for what I believed was sprained back. They were quick to rush her to the back and advised us that she had an intestinal parasite and was  dehydrated. They have no problem rushing to blindly treat your pet and give them unnecessary injections and medications and will not listen to what you have to say. We finally told the vet STOP what you are doing please watch her walk. she is in severe pain and it is evident when she walks.  The vet was like oh we should probably check that out then. NO CRAP... if you wouldn't have cut us off and let us explain why we were there in the first place.  In the end they even forced us to pay for the injections and tests for the non existent intestinal issue. CROOKS AT THEIR WORST. I refuse to take my per back there, Today i tried to have a prescription filled from an online pharmacy which they declined to authorize. I was told they do not trust online pharmacy so they wont authorize a prescription to one and I could come down to their office and pick up the prescription from them. Dr.Richmond is a wonderful Doctor and really cares more about our dog's. The 1st time Dr.Richmond met my pitt bull Hayden he really took the time to get to know her, even got down and helped Hayden feel more at ease with meeting him. Hayden has been to many vet offices' due to her allergies. When leaving the house she would sit knowing she is on her way to the doctors.  Thanks to Dr.Richmond the process isn't as bad now as it was with previous vet trips. If you want a good vet for your loved one (pet) I highly recommend Dr. Richmond and his staff.  We drive a good 45 minutes with several vet offices closer, so that should tell you right there he's well worth going out of your way for to receive the BEST CARE for your additional family members! I have never had my fur babies so well taken care of, until I started coming to Country Oaks Animal Hospital. The team is attentive and works with the needs of their clients. They show love and happiness whenever I bring my "kids" to see them. I have happily been with this animal hospital since the summer of 2014. Even though I'm moving soon, I will make the long drive to Dr. Richmond for his team, and the top-notch, quality care they give to my pets. Last week, I had to have my eldest cat put down. I have never been through this in my life, and Dr. Richmond and his team made the experience the smoothest and the most peaceful I could have asked for. They were empathetic, supportive, respectful and considerate every step of the way. They let me take my time saying goodbye to my beloved cat, and they were tender and gentle with him when we let him go. I have tears just writing about them because they are a one in a million veterinarian hospital. I have never had a bad experience at a vet office. However there is always a first time. Liz was the only one that i can say wow to, a vet tech. I waited an hour in a small room, they said they were gonna contact me when my dogs pills were ready, but didnt and after a week i called and they were ready and Kayla was very apologetic and kind when i picked them up but for some reason due to their mistake i am not welcome there anymore. My husband and I adopted a dog from Pasco animal shelter and they told me he had kennel cough...turns out he had pneumonia. We are first time dog owners and did not have a vet, I called Country Oaks in tears because my boy Baer was so sick!!! Without even knowing me they told me to bring Baer right in...they admitted him to the hospital for a couple days and he is now home doing great!!! I have 2 dogs. My first appointment went well for check-up and vaccinations. I had an appointment today because one of my dogs is suffering with something. I still don't know what is wrong with him because after waiting in the exam room for an hour and 15 minutes, I went to the front desk to ask how much longer it would be. The women at the front desk were very annoyed and put off by my asking. I waited another 10 minutes, then asked a second time, again they very annoyed with me and did nothing to find out how much longer it might be. I understand Doctors offices get busy and behind, I just wanted someone to let me know what was going on and how much longer it might be. I have nothing negative to say about the Vets or the Techs or even the facility itself. But because of the way I was treated today by the front desk I made an appointment with a new Vet that was recommended to me. Read Less

Dr. Richmond examined our four-legged brother, he was very patient.......(with me, I had a lot of questions). He was very educational and informative when talking to me and my kid (my little buddy) and he's kind. The office staff called several times to make sure my little guy was OK too after our visit! (That impresses me)! The 'girls' running the office and the techs were wonderful. What a day! We needed a vet for our 5 lb Chihuahua, Tequila Rose. We have taken her to Blue Pearl Vets in Tampa and they recommended a local vet, Country Oaks. Am I glad we came here. Seriously so grateful for finding this office. I pass at least 5 other vets and I don't mind the drive at all because they are extremely passionate about what they do. Our sweet Gladys June had reached the end of her road and was ready, oh so ready, to cross the Rainbow Bridge. We called three other offices and each required us to make an appointment within the next two weeks for an office visit and exam, one including labs, to "establish her as a patient first." THEN the doctor would decide if she should be euthanized. Of course--all of this would add to their pockets, but not be the kindest for Gladys or us. We called Country Oaks who told us to come in right away after we explained once again her condition and age. They could see right away that it was her time. We absolutely love Country Oaks Animal Hospital. We have three cats that are our babies. We feel that Dr. Richardson and his staff are some of the finest we have every encountered. We moved here from California and didn't think we would find this caliber of care and attention for our pets. They are the very best and we highly recommend them. You can see their love for animals. Over all great staff, and friendly veterinarians that take the time to let you know what’s going on with your pets. I have boarded my dogs there in the past, and I have had only one issue with them after 5 plus stays. After boarding one of my dogs came home with flees, however the office gave me meds to fix the issue at no charge and things where fine otherwise. As to prices for supplies and shoots I think this office is about the same or just a little lower than other vets in the area. With all this in mind I will be using them again for my pets needs in the future. I hope this helps. Read Less

My cat, Maya, has been seeing Dr. Littlejohn since she was a tiny little kitten.  That was about four year ago... and we still go back.They take good care of the animals here and give pet owners plenty of options for treatment, if the animal gets sick/injured/etc.I initially found them through a friend's recommendation and now I'm passing on the recommendation to the rest of you. I take my five dogs there. They see Dr Campos and he is the best vet I have ever taken my dogs to. He takes his time to be thorough. He will try not to order tests and things that you don't really need and will actually try to make you save money if he can just as long as the animal is cared for. He will call and check on his patients, emails you and calls with blood work results etc.... The staff is nice and when you go there the wait is never long. They also will squeeze you in if you have an emergency. Very good place to go to and reasonably priced. I trust Dr Campos with my dogs without a doubt, He is just very good at what he does and you can tell he truly cares. My dogs love him and he just shows us he cares about his practice. I can only recommend Dr Campos there at the hospital though. Read Less
