Went in on a whim instead of the usual vet I used to go to die to the close proximity of my house. I walked in without an appointment when they opened. I was greeted, asked a few short questions (not the usual booklet of paperwork for new patients) and went in the see the vet. Dr. Ross was super nice and knowledgeable. Both him and the nurse dumbed it down for me when needed. She even gave me a heads up on what he might do/need like an X-ray. They weren't pushy or upsold any meds. They also didn't make me feel dumb or like a bad fur mom about things (isn't that the worst when the doctor makes you feel bad?). Just honest people. All nice staff. Idk what it is like when it's busy, because the waiting room is decent, but smaller. My only complaint is the parking. Took me a few tries to find the place and I have no idea if I parked in the correct place. It was early, so maybe I got lucky. There's not much they can do about that, but maybe signage and/or info on website. Other than that. Great place. I don't think they were overpriced for a vet checkup either.. I was afraid of that, being in the gardens. I will diffidently be returning. Read Less

Dr. Gillen and the entire staff here is amazing. We had a minor emergency with our puppy today and they immediately fit us in. They are so friendly and knowledgeable here and truly care for their furry patients. We have two rough collies who are more prone to reactions with certain medications but Dr. Gillen has taken the time to help us find the safest meds and flea/heartworm treatments for them. Unfortunately not all vets put in the effort for this, but here I know my dogs are in good hands. On top of all this, their prices are by far the best in town. Being new to the area I was happy to find a vet with 5 stars on Yelp. However, after this experience I am questioning whether the reviews below are actually for this practice. First, not one of the three people I communicated with including the Tech and the Vet were even the least bit friendly. I brought my dog in after noticing he was breathing fast while sleeping. I even brought a video of the dog I recorded while it was happening so they could have a clear understanding of what I saw. The Vet barely spent time to watch the video (only a minute long), checked his heart and lungs and said "I'd chalk that up to a REM cycle" with no visible signs of care or concern to perform any other testing to confirm nothing else was going on. Given that the dog is eleven years old and this was not normal behavior for him I decided to take him to another vet the same day to get a second opinion. After x-rays and blood work it was confirmed that his liver looked larger than normal (and may be pushing on his diaphragm causing the fast breathing) and he has other signs consistent with Cushings disease. We are currently going through the process to determine whether or not he has the disease and have found an excellent vet that actually cares about his patients. Had I trusted PGA with his care, this could have gone undiagnosed and untreated for much longer. I am still in disbelief that this vet has a 5 star rating and such excellent reviews. I wouldn't recommend PGA to my worst enemy. Read Less

Dr. Mike is simply the best. We moved from Los Angeles 2 years ago, where I thought I had the best vet in the world. Dr. Mike is even better. We have adopted 2 new dogs since moving to PBG, and the care they have received from Dr. Mike and the rest of the staff couldn't be better. Yes, they are busy, but they have made room for us when we had what we thought were urgent situations, the prices are extremely reasonable and Dr. Mike is so knowledge but explains things in easy-to-understand ways. I have referred several friends here and couldn't recommend this PGA Animal Clinic anymore. I am also always excited to see Marge the Bulldog snoring behind the front desk. Read Less

Dr Mike is the "BEST" veteriarian you can get, I have been going to this clinic for 6 yrs now and the older my black lab gets the more we are there and my dog actually loves going in there, They are ALL so friendly, caring, and they treat your pet as it was their own, I wish i could give this place a 100 star rating because thats what they deserve, will never find another clinic like this, trust me. The staff and atmosphere here is so welcoming and comfortable. We saw Dr. Mike Gillen and couldn't have been more impressed with his ability to make us and our 2 dogs comfortable and his knowledge. We have one dog that is nervous and can get aggressive and he was absolutely amazing with him. Also there was no trying to upsell or do unnecessary tests. I worked as a vet tech before and have witnessed first hand how easy it is to get taken advantage of. I will 100% be going here as long as I live here and highly recommend this facility.Read Less

Had to take my dog, Petra, to spend 2 whole days there in order to undergo testing and monitoring, IV fluids etc. I was dreading getting the bill because I was just raped (monetarily, that is) the night before by the pet ER.  But when I did get the bill, I was so relieved! They are extremely reasonable with prices, they don't try to sell you anything your pet doesn't need and they are very compassionate. My dog came out like a new dog - I thought she was about to die 2 days earlier.  The office staff is also very professional and courteous, even when the place is super busy with phones ringing off the hook.  Highly recommend this office. We just took our male cat to PGA Animal Clinic for the first time and were very pleased. We thought he had a urinary infection or blockage, which can be pretty critical for a male cat, and they saw us right away. Dr. Gillen was really great with the cat, in explaining things to us, and taking care of the problem. All the staff seemed to be friendly and professional. This is the perfect place to go to if your dog needs surgery. I have a senior dog named Twister (almost 14 years old) and she tore her right ACL back in June 2016. A few years earlier, our vet in New York repaired the left ACL, so she's had both legs done, and you'd be amazed at how well she can walk, run, and even jump on the couch without any problems. Dr. Mike and company are very nice, and accommodating, and they perform excellent surgeries which make your pet's quality of life so much better. Don't know what we would've done without them. I highly recommend PGA to everyone who really cares about their pets. Read Less

Dr Mike and his entire staff has gone above and beyond for my 11 year old min pin Chloe.. almost 2 years ago he diagnosed her diabetic, and needless to say it's been a rough road ever since. He has always been quick to respond and take care of her! She has spent countless days receiving around the clock care to help regulate her diabetes and treat her pancreatitis flare ups.. Despite being poked and prodded she always has a wagging tail and gives kisses! I can not say enough for the compassion and care the staff and Dr Mike have shown us! Luckily my other two dogs Gwen and Leilo rarely need medical attention, but when they do I know they are in good hands. When Chloe has spent overnights at the emergency vet I'm worried sick all night, and now when she has to spend several days for glucose testing and medicine I sleep easier knowing what good hands she is in. I strongly recommend PGA animal clinic to anyone looking for an amazing Vet who truly cares! Thank you again everyone for everything you have done for my Chloe! On the night of his surgery we got updates every hour and we were able to have 8 more happy, pain and drug-free months with Gizmo before his time came. The staff let us have a private room and probably 2 boxes of tissues so we could say goodbye to Gizmo (took about 4 hours before we were ready). The love that they have for animals is undeniable. I could go on about other great experiences with my other pets but I am sure Google will cut me off soon!Read Less

Both my fiancé and I would just like to thank the entire staff of the PGA animal clinic. Our golden retriever Marlin has been seeing Dr. Mike Gillien who has always been absolutely amazing with treating/managing his care. Unfortunately, our dog was diagnosed with lymphoma at only 5 years old. Dr. Mike Gillien and his staff were very caring, compassionate and supportive through the entire process. Sadly, our dog only survived two weeks from the day he was diagnosed but we know he was rendered the absolute best care possible. I would highly recommend PGA animal clinic to anyone, they have taken care of not only our precious boy but also us, as his pet owners. Words will never be able to describe the gratitude we have for everyone who has been involved. I cannot say enough about the care delivered by both Dr. Joe and Dr. Mike. We had a special case with our girl first being treated daily by Dr. Joe for her diabetes, then finally when other issues arose, Dr. Mike kept her over an entire weekend, keeping her comfortable and attempting to treat her ensuing condition. Just took him in for a hot spot, again newest spray (no powders) and he's almost back to normal in a week. I wouldn't hesitate bringing my dog or cat there anytime. My experience has been that some vets play on the emotions of the pet owner and take advantage of the situation. The Docs here are very conservative and at the same time up to date with the latest medical treatments. I heard about this clinic from a new friend who takes her cats there.   She highly recommended the vet and the clinic.   I took my cat Teddy for a dental and update his rabies shot.  The front desk receptionist is very efficient and friendly.   They don't over schedule appointments so waiting is limited.   My kitty was well taken care of and the cost for the dental was reasonable.  I also had to take me senior dog Oscar to be euthanized.   The staff was very compassionate and the Doc took time to talk to me about Oscar before he was gently put to sleep.   The vet tech was also very sweet.   I was given time alone to be with my boy and say goodbye to him.   I feel like this clinic gives expert and compassionate care without trying to add on additional services, which might not be necessary.   I've only lived in Florida for over a year,  but have used several vets.This will be my Vet clinic of choice. Just got home from PGA animal clinic and couldn't wait to write a review I was so impressed with Dr. Mike and all his caring staff. I took my dog to be spayed and it was my first time there because my primary vet doesn't do surgery. Drop off and pick up went smoothly, the doctor met with me after the surgery to tell me how well she did and all the post op care (which is so much easier now than ever before bc they don't use stitches!) Then I got home and about an hour after surgery (aprox 6:45pm) and noticed that her dressing had more drainage than when I left. Me being a nurse I panicked bc in human patients abdomen surgery and drainage is usually not good. I called them and they said to bring her in. They waited for me and the doctor was in the waiting room to greet me. Took her from me and looked at the drainage and her gums and told me everything was completely fine. Then looked at me and my face must have been transparent that I was a nervous wreck. I know I'm a nurse and I can't even be calm with my own dog. He said but if it will make you feel better we can watch her over night and give her an extra pain shot tonight and keep her confined (because she had been whimpering since I got her home) I was so relieved and said yes. Well, I picked her up this morning and she was back to her normal self and I tried to pay them for all there inconvenience (staying late the night before, boarding my dog, giving her an extra pain shot) and they wouldn't let me pay!!!!! WOW! I couldn't believe it, I asked at least two times if they were sure. And btw the spay was so reasonable to begin with I was already impressed with them the day before. I'm switching to this place and telling everyone I know to go there. Absolutely the most caring, compassionate, reasonable, honest veterinary office I have ever been to, and I've owned multiple pets for many years! Read Less

Dr. Mike and PGA Animal Clinic helped us through a devastating time. My 15 year old puppy" got sick late Friday night. Why do these things always happen on the weekend? We took her in, with no appointment, early Saturday morning and, when she wasnt improving throughout the day, Dr. Mike met us again at the office Saturday evening - well after business hours. We realize any other vet office would have referred us to a 24 hour emergency clinic. Instead, Dr. Mike met us at the office, turned on the lights, ran blood work, and stayed with her for hours to administer fluids. We picked her up at 10 PM Saturday night and he met us again at 9 AM Sunday morning for a full day of fluids. She was admitted on Monday and stayed there through Wednesday. Throughout those days he tried everything and kept us constantly informed. We visited her and, when there was nothing left to do, took her home for a few hours so she could rest in her own bed. On the last day the entire office was extremely considerate of our situation and helped us through the process. Nothing can console you when youve lost a pet, especially one I spent 15 years with, but Dr. Mike and PGA Animal Clinic made us feel like we were all in it together, they personally cared about the outcome and helped us beyond expectations. I was greeted, asked a few short questions (not the usual booklet of paperwork for new patients) and went in the see the vet. Dr. Ross was super nice and knowledgeable. Both him and the nurse dumbed it down for me when needed. She even gave me a heads up on what he might do/need like an X-ray. They weren't pushy or upsold any meds. They also didn't make me feel dumb or like a bad fur mom about things (isn't that the worst when the doctor makes you feel bad?). Just honest people. All nice staff. Idk what it is like when it's busy, because the waiting room is decent, but smaller. My only complaint is the parking. Took me a few tries to find the place and I have no idea if I parked in the correct place. It was early, so maybe I got lucky. There's not much they can do about that, but maybe signage and/or info on website. Other than that. Great place. I don't think they were overpriced for a vet checkup either.. They are so friendly and knowledgeable here and truly care for their furry patients. We have two rough collies who are more prone to reactions with certain medications but Dr. Gillen has taken the time to help us find the safest meds and flea/heartworm treatments for them. Unfortunately not all vets put in the effort for this, but here I know my dogs are in good hands. On top of all this, their prices are by far the best in town. Being new to the area I was happy to find a vet with 5 stars on Yelp. However, after this experience I am questioning whether the reviews below are actually for this practice. First, not one of the three people I communicated with including the Tech and the Vet were even the least bit friendly. I brought my dog in after noticing he was breathing fast while sleeping. I even brought a video of the dog I recorded while it was happening so they could have a clear understanding of what I saw. The Vet barely spent time to watch the video (only a minute long), checked his heart and lungs and said "I'd chalk that up to a REM cycle" with no visible signs of care or concern to perform any other testing to confirm nothing else was going on. Given that the dog is eleven years old and this was not normal behavior for him I decided to take him to another vet the same day to get a second opinion. After x-rays and blood work it was confirmed that his liver looked larger than normal (and may be pushing on his diaphragm causing the fast breathing) and he has other signs consistent with Cushings disease. We are currently going through the process to determine whether or not he has the disease and have found an excellent vet that actually cares about his patients. Had I trusted PGA with his care, this could have gone undiagnosed and untreated for much longer. I am still in disbelief that this vet has a 5 star rating and such excellent reviews. I wouldn't recommend PGA to my worst enemy. Read Less

We have adopted 2 new dogs since moving to PBG, and the care they have received from Dr. Mike and the rest of the staff couldn't be better. Yes, they are busy, but they have made room for us when we had what we thought were urgent situations, the prices are extremely reasonable and Dr. Mike is so knowledge but explains things in easy-to-understand ways. I have referred several friends here and couldn't recommend this PGA Animal Clinic anymore. I am also always excited to see Marge the Bulldog snoring behind the front desk. Read Less

They are extremely reasonable with prices, they don't try to sell you anything your pet doesn't need and they are very compassionate. This is the perfect place to go to if your dog needs surgery. I have a senior dog named Twister (almost 14 years old) and she tore her right ACL back in June 2016. A few years earlier, our vet in New York repaired the left ACL, so she's had both legs done, and you'd be amazed at how well she can walk, run, and even jump on the couch without any problems. Dr. Mike and company are very nice, and accommodating, and they perform excellent surgeries which make your pet's quality of life so much better. Don't know what we would've done without them. He has always been quick to respond and take care of her! She has spent countless days receiving around the clock care to help regulate her diabetes and treat her pancreatitis flare ups.. Despite being poked and prodded she always has a wagging tail and gives kisses! I can not say enough for the compassion and care the staff and Dr Mike have shown us! Luckily my other two dogs Gwen and Leilo rarely need medical attention, but when they do I know they are in good hands. When Chloe has spent overnights at the emergency vet I'm worried sick all night, and now when she has to spend several days for glucose testing and medicine I sleep easier knowing what good hands she is in. Our golden retriever Marlin has been seeing Dr. Mike Gillien who has always been absolutely amazing with treating/managing his care. Unfortunately, our dog was diagnosed with lymphoma at only 5 years old. Dr. Mike Gillien and his staff were very caring, compassionate and supportive through the entire process. Sadly, our dog only survived two weeks from the day he was diagnosed but we know he was rendered the absolute best care possible. I heard about this clinic from a new friend who takes her cats there.   She highly recommended the vet and the clinic.   I took my cat Teddy for a dental and update his rabies shot.  The front desk receptionist is very efficient and friendly.   They don't over schedule appointments so waiting is limited.   My kitty was well taken care of and the cost for the dental was reasonable.  I also had to take me senior dog Oscar to be euthanized.   The staff was very compassionate and the Doc took time to talk to me about Oscar before he was gently put to sleep.   The vet tech was also very sweet.   I was given time alone to be with my boy and say goodbye to him.   I feel like this clinic gives expert and compassionate care without trying to add on additional services, which might not be necessary.   I've only lived in Florida for over a year,  but have used several vets.This will be my Vet clinic of choice. Just got home from PGA animal clinic and couldn't wait to write a review I was so impressed with Dr. Mike and all his caring staff. I took my dog to be spayed and it was my first time there because my primary vet doesn't do surgery. Drop off and pick up went smoothly, the doctor met with me after the surgery to tell me how well she did and all the post op care (which is so much easier now than ever before bc they don't use stitches!) Then I got home and about an hour after surgery (aprox 6:45pm) and noticed that her dressing had more drainage than when I left. Me being a nurse I panicked bc in human patients abdomen surgery and drainage is usually not good. I called them and they said to bring her in. They waited for me and the doctor was in the waiting room to greet me. Took her from me and looked at the drainage and her gums and told me everything was completely fine. Then looked at me and my face must have been transparent that I was a nervous wreck. I know I'm a nurse and I can't even be calm with my own dog. He said but if it will make you feel better we can watch her over night and give her an extra pain shot tonight and keep her confined (because she had been whimpering since I got her home) I was so relieved and said yes. Well, I picked her up this morning and she was back to her normal self and I tried to pay them for all there inconvenience (staying late the night before, boarding my dog, giving her an extra pain shot) and they wouldn't let me pay!!!!! WOW! I couldn't believe it, I asked at least two times if they were sure. And btw the spay was so reasonable to begin with I was already impressed with them the day before. I'm switching to this place and telling everyone I know to go there. Dr. Mike and PGA Animal Clinic helped us through a devastating time. My 15 year old puppy" got sick late Friday night. Why do these things always happen on the weekend? We took her in, with no appointment, early Saturday morning and, when she wasnt improving throughout the day, Dr. Mike met us again at the office Saturday evening - well after business hours. We realize any other vet office would have referred us to a 24 hour emergency clinic. Instead, Dr. Mike met us at the office, turned on the lights, ran blood work, and stayed with her for hours to administer fluids. We picked her up at 10 PM Saturday night and he met us again at 9 AM Sunday morning for a full day of fluids. She was admitted on Monday and stayed there through Wednesday. Throughout those days he tried everything and kept us constantly informed. We visited her and, when there was nothing left to do, took her home for a few hours so she could rest in her own bed. On the last day the entire office was extremely considerate of our situation and helped us through the process. Nothing can console you when youve lost a pet, especially one I spent 15 years with, but Dr. Mike and PGA Animal Clinic made us feel like we were all in it together, they personally cared about the outcome and helped us beyond expectations. Dr. Guirato is awesome, went to PGA Animal Clinic for intial exam for my new puppy. A few months later she was very sick and vomiting, she swallowed some plastic peices of a toy and they were stuck in her intestines. Dr. Guirato did emergency surgery on her that night, kept her for two days on IV and saved my puppy!! Read Less
