EDITED TO A 1 STAR FROM A 3 STAR DUE TO THE RESPONSE FROM Doctor Lauren. When I called and emailed her office in regards to them not cleaning my dog properly prior to giving him back, she tried to blame it on the dog leaking more in the car. (Dog pooped at the vet and they failed to clean him off which resulted in my brand new car getting poop on the seats and carpet. Not only was my integrity questioned but she failed to own up to their poor quality control when it came to my dog. That is disrespectful to not only my dog but to us as owners. If they treat one dog this way, you can imagine this is not the only one. We were going to give you another shot as we had an appointment lined up for Thursday, however we will be looking elsewhere and warning people or our experience.
This is what happened prior to the doctor calling us back. Took my 2 year old dog here for the first time. Since it’s during Covid 19 they make u wait in the car and have the dog come inside which is fine. We went to update him on his shots and to see why he’s been peeing when he’s nervous or if it’s a bladder issue. They couldn’t do the shots today, couldn’t get a urine sample, and gave me back my dog with Shit all over his butt. Just picked up a BRAND NEW CAR, and because they failed to clean him up or at least let me know, I now have to clean off my seats and carpet. When I called back to let them know, the lady I spoke with just wanted to hand the call off. If you represent the business regardless of your position, you should have a procedure for this. Not a good experience for our first time. I will say the doctor was very informative and explained her diagnosis which we agreed with. That is the reason for the 1 star.

When my husband and I relocated to Florida, I did extensive research and asked for referrals on finding the best veterinarian in the area. Toledo Blade Animal Clinic in North Port, Fl kept coming in number one for very good reasons.
You cannot ask for a better medical team than Dr. Kris Minnich and Dr. Lauren Schleenbaker. We have three pets including an elderly Doberman that is being kept thriving by Dr. Lauren Schleenbaker. We call her Dr. Lauren.
This clinic cares more about the wellness of pets rather than the almighty dollar and it shows in their thoroughness, compassion and ability to diagnose correctly.
The staff truly loves animals as well and is able to gain the trust of our often nervous dogs and cat with gentle handling and kindness.
We would not take our beloved pets anywhere else and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a highly advanced, smart , professional and truly compassionate animal hospital. My husband and I wish we can find medical doctors as good as this group!

HORRIBLE PLACE. Brought my dog in for a broken nail, they sedated him and clipped it down followed by a bandage, antibiotics and pain meds to heal. Brought him back 3 days later and they said it still...
HORRIBLE PLACE. Brought my dog in for a broken nail, they sedated him and clipped it down followed by a bandage, antibiotics and pain meds to heal. Brought him back 3 days later and they said it still looks swollen, another bandage along with a fee and sent home. Fast forward 4 days for another check up and they said the quick needed to be trimmed down more so he was given a local gas anesthesia and a shot for pain, resulting in another pricey fee. Sent home with a bandage and more antibiotics. Came back 4 days later and when they clipped the quick down and bandaged it, it bled causing his toes to stick together with dried blood. Soaked the blood off and got an E-collar. ANOTHER FEE. Another 4 days later, back for a check up and was told this visit wouldn't cost anything. He saw a doctor for 5 minutes, who did nothing but look at his paw to make sure it was healing correctly, which it was, and sent me on my way. Stopped at the front desk and was told my total was almost $50 because a doctor saw him and it wasn't "their case" so I got charged for a medical exam fee. The girl working the front desk was extremely rude and argumentative. This place lost a total of 6 animals between me and my family and we will be sure to put the word out about this horrible experience. 0/10 would NOT recommend.***ALSO, all of the customers who had horrible experiences and shared their reviews.. the vet has responded taking 0 blame or responsibility and instead blamed the owner or the pet. Just more reasons you should not bring your animal(s) here!!

I transferred my pets from another local animal clinic to this one because they had the most modern equipment to test my dog's heart instead of telling me I had to go out and find a dog cardiologist on my own. I also like the quiet location which is not right on a busy road. It's easily accessible but private. If I dropped a leash on accident, I wouldn't have to worry about my dog getting hit by a car! The staff is very professional but also warm and friendly. I now recommend Toledo Blade Animal Clinic to all my friends!

Stay away from this clinic. Took my dog in because she was bleeding from her mouth. He opened her mouth...said she needed her teeth cleaned and gave her annual vaccinations and scheduled her for teeth...
Stay away from this clinic. Took my dog in because she was bleeding from her mouth. He opened her mouth...said she needed her teeth cleaned and gave her annual vaccinations and scheduled her for teeth cleaning on the following Monday. His bedside manner is horrible. He kept saying that my dog stunk and had the worst teeth he had ever seen. He also made a comment that her teeth were black. Had he taken a moment to wipe them he would have noticed that it was coagulated blood between them. She has had her teeth cleaned by Dr. Minnich 2 times in the past 4 years. Twenty four hours later my dog was at the Pet ER in critical condition. The ER Vet diagnosed ITP within 5 minutes of examining her, but wanted to confirm it with bloodwork. Her platelet count was zero and she was basically bleeding to death. She stayed overnight at the ER Clinic and the next day I had her transferred to a competent and very compassionate veterinarian. I stopped by Minnich's office on my way home and asked to see her bloodwork. He mentioned a few readings were low or high. When I asked about her platelet count he stated that it was a little low. When I finally got a copy of them and saw the results I was shocked to see that her platelet count was 21...normal is 117-490. When I asked why he vaccinated her with her being sick...his response was that it was policy to vaccinate them before cleaning their teeth. YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO VACCINATE A SICK DOG! Minnich failed big time on catching this because all of the symptoms were there. We lost our precious dog 5 days later.

I have brought my dog here for possibly a decade now and I can’t say enough good things about them. I’ve always received care for my 1-3 pets ASAP even if I pop in without an appointment. They have watched my pets grow up and have been there to help them along the way. They are super friendly and professional with a staff that truly loves to help animals. I highly recommend them and even though I moved farther away 2 years ago I still make the drive in to see them.

Our dog Peaches was seen by a previous Veterinarian who I will not name. 2K later, 3 months of visits, constant tests and she was still sick. One visit at Toledo Blade Animal Clinic and she was diagnosed, placed on medication and has been great ever since! An occasional inflammation gets treated right away and with great care. We have 2 other dogs as well and the office has been wonderful to them. Thanks for making our pets your pets too!

EDITED TO A 1 STAR FROM A 3 STAR DUE TO THE RESPONSE FROM Doctor Lauren. When I called and emailed her office in regards to them not cleaning my dog properly prior to giving him back, she tried to blame it on the dog leaking more in the car. (Dog pooped at the vet and they failed to clean him off which resulted in my brand new car getting poop on the seats and carpet. Not only was my integrity questioned but she failed to own up to their poor quality control when it came to my dog. That is disrespectful to not only my dog but to us as owners. If they treat one dog this way, you can imagine this is not the only one. We were going to give you another shot as we had an appointment lined up for Thursday, however we will be looking elsewhere and warning people or our experience.
This is what happened prior to the doctor calling us back. Took my 2 year old dog here for the first time. Since it’s during Covid 19 they make u wait in the car and have the dog come inside which is fine. We went to update him on his shots and to see why he’s been peeing when he’s nervous or if it’s a bladder issue. They couldn’t do the shots today, couldn’t get a urine sample, and gave me back my dog with Shit all over his butt. Just picked up a BRAND NEW CAR, and because they failed to clean him up or at least let me know, I now have to clean off my seats and carpet. When I called back to let them know, the lady I spoke with just wanted to hand the call off. If you represent the business regardless of your position, you should have a procedure for this. Not a good experience for our first time. I will say the doctor was very informative and explained her diagnosis which we agreed with. That is the reason for the 1 star.

When my husband and I relocated to Florida, I did extensive research and asked for referrals on finding the best veterinarian in the area. Toledo Blade Animal Clinic in North Port, Fl kept coming in number one for very good reasons.
You cannot ask for a better medical team than Dr. Kris Minnich and Dr. Lauren Schleenbaker. We have three pets including an elderly Doberman that is being kept thriving by Dr. Lauren Schleenbaker. We call her Dr. Lauren.
This clinic cares more about the wellness of pets rather than the almighty dollar and it shows in their thoroughness, compassion and ability to diagnose correctly.
The staff truly loves animals as well and is able to gain the trust of our often nervous dogs and cat with gentle handling and kindness.
We would not take our beloved pets anywhere else and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a highly advanced, smart , professional and truly compassionate animal hospital. My husband and I wish we can find medical doctors as good as this group!

HORRIBLE PLACE. Brought my dog in for a broken nail, they sedated him and clipped it down followed by a bandage, antibiotics and pain meds to heal. Brought him back 3 days later and they said it still...
HORRIBLE PLACE. Brought my dog in for a broken nail, they sedated him and clipped it down followed by a bandage, antibiotics and pain meds to heal. Brought him back 3 days later and they said it still looks swollen, another bandage along with a fee and sent home. Fast forward 4 days for another check up and they said the quick needed to be trimmed down more so he was given a local gas anesthesia and a shot for pain, resulting in another pricey fee. Sent home with a bandage and more antibiotics. Came back 4 days later and when they clipped the quick down and bandaged it, it bled causing his toes to stick together with dried blood. Soaked the blood off and got an E-collar. ANOTHER FEE. Another 4 days later, back for a check up and was told this visit wouldn't cost anything. He saw a doctor for 5 minutes, who did nothing but look at his paw to make sure it was healing correctly, which it was, and sent me on my way. Stopped at the front desk and was told my total was almost $50 because a doctor saw him and it wasn't "their case" so I got charged for a medical exam fee. The girl working the front desk was extremely rude and argumentative. This place lost a total of 6 animals between me and my family and we will be sure to put the word out about this horrible experience. 0/10 would NOT recommend.***ALSO, all of the customers who had horrible experiences and shared their reviews.. the vet has responded taking 0 blame or responsibility and instead blamed the owner or the pet. Just more reasons you should not bring your animal(s) here!!

I transferred my pets from another local animal clinic to this one because they had the most modern equipment to test my dog's heart instead of telling me I had to go out and find a dog cardiologist on my own. I also like the quiet location which is not right on a busy road. It's easily accessible but private. If I dropped a leash on accident, I wouldn't have to worry about my dog getting hit by a car! The staff is very professional but also warm and friendly. I now recommend Toledo Blade Animal Clinic to all my friends!

Stay away from this clinic. Took my dog in because she was bleeding from her mouth. He opened her mouth...said she needed her teeth cleaned and gave her annual vaccinations and scheduled her for teeth cleaning on the following Monday. His bedside manner is horrible. He kept saying that my dog stunk and had the worst teeth he had ever seen. He also made a comment that her teeth were black. Had he taken a moment to wipe them he would have noticed that it was coagulated blood between them. She has had her teeth cleaned by Dr. Minnich 2 times in the past 4 years. Twenty four hours later my dog was at the Pet ER in critical condition. The ER Vet diagnosed ITP within 5 minutes of examining her, but wanted to confirm it with bloodwork. Her platelet count was zero and she was basically bleeding to death. She stayed overnight at the ER Clinic and the next day I had her transferred to a competent and very compassionate veterinarian. I stopped by Minnich's office on my way home and asked to see her bloodwork. He mentioned a few readings were low or high. When I asked about her platelet count he stated that it was a little low. When I finally got a copy of them and saw the results I was shocked to see that her platelet count was 21...normal is 117-490. When I asked why he vaccinated her with her being sick...his response was that it was policy to vaccinate them before cleaning their teeth. YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO VACCINATE A SICK DOG! Minnich failed big time on catching this because all of the symptoms were there. We lost our precious dog 5 days later.

I have brought my dog here for possibly a decade now and I can’t say enough good things about them. I’ve always received care for my 1-3 pets ASAP even if I pop in without an appointment. They have watched my pets grow up and have been there to help them along the way. They are super friendly and professional with a staff that truly loves to help animals. I highly recommend them and even though I moved farther away 2 years ago I still make the drive in to see them.

Brought my 3yo Golden Retriever here last week and couldn't have been happier. Everyone there was so nice, knowledgeable and helpful, and the vet actually got on the floor to play with him. :) Dr. was very friendly, and patient with my questions, and gave me several options for treatment. Never felt pressured to spend extra money, and felt like the service I got was well-worth the money. Highly recommend this place!!

Both vets are fantastic. Have 4 cats and a dog, plus 2 office cats that have had excellent care. Pricing is fair and staff is EXTREMELY compassionate. Give them a shot.

Our dog Peaches was seen by a previous Veterinarian who I will not name. 2K later, 3 months of visits, constant tests and she was still sick. One visit at Toledo Blade Animal Clinic and she was diagnosed, placed on medication and has been great ever since! An occasional inflammation gets treated right away and with great care. We have 2 other dogs as well and the office has been wonderful to them. Thanks for making our pets your pets too!
