Terrible business people. The doctors take good care of the animals but don't spend a lot of one on one time with clients. Owners are divorced and argue right in front of staff and clients. Always new staff every other month. Equipment is outdated, you can actually smell the autoclave burning. The surgery rooms aren't sterile, actually saw a cat running around in there. The staff are so loud in the back you can hear them laughing and talking about other clients. Ask for JASMINE (NOT JOE) if you plan on taking your animal here, her compassion for animals is out of this world. She even sends pictures to let you know how your angel is doing. Read Less

One of the worst Vets I have ever come across in all of my years of owning high end Siamese Cats.The care here is beyond poor. The owner has no understanding of what it takes to be a decent Vet.Poor animal care no follow up, you must keep calling.They use Lysol which kills animals.My advice GO ELSEWHERE if you want want your pet to be healthy. I have been part of that family since 1998, a few years later they expanded; adding more staff new doctors. It was a bit hard to interest your four legged child to a new doctor and then to another as they continued to grow. Dr Cindy is warm and loving as always especially with each new staff member. Everyone at the front desk is knowledgeable and you begin to recognize their voice when you call and them as well. With each new addition each doctor brings a new insight to the latest in medicine, thank you. It's funny to see how gentle Joe is with a five pound Malteses with pink bows in her hair! My dog had a surgery with Dr. Cindy.  I felt Dr. was quick to add on tests and charges after the surgery that were not in the original pricing and may have been unnecessary. (Never gave me results and never mentioning it again during numerous after surgery visits.)I will not be going back because of this. Place is well run and a lot of committed people. Read Less

Hula (3) and Django (2) have been going to AHOFL since they were puppies. They love Dr. Jones and the entire staff. Everyone is always so happy to see them, and give them kisses and scratches and treats whenever we come for a visit. The care they've received has been excellent, and they make Mommy's life easier by filing my Pet Insurance claims for me. I especially love that they have late hours and are open on Saturdays. They always fit us in when Django has gotten into something he shouldn't, and the other docs are wonderful also, when Dr. Jones is booked or on vacation. I've recommended this office to friends who are also pleased. It's never fun taking your fur babies to the vet, but I know my boys are in good hands with Dr. Jones and her staff! Read Less

All staff are great. All doctors are very knowledgeable and super diagnosticians. Been taking my dog there for years and also board my dog there when I travel. Best veterinary practice I've ever been to. You can always trust their skills and knowledge. I have known Dr. Bossart and Dr. Jones for many years. I recently needed their services to complete a surgery on my dog Geri who had ingested something she should not have. Geri is recovering wonderfully and I have a great depth of appreciation to both Dr. Bossart and Dr. Jones for their skills and compassion. DR. CINDY CAUSED MY 5 YEAR OLD DOG TO PERMANENTLY LOSE HER HEARING!  She had me give her Biosol, which was banned in Canada for use in animals, but I found out too late. And, MY DOG NEVER NEEDED IT.  Dr. Cindy diagnosed my 4 year old dog with a liver insufficiency.  She prescribed special food and Biosol 3 times a day.  She said plenty of dogs are on it for their whole lives and that it was safe.  After a year, I noticed my dog couldn't hear.  I took her to Animal Hospital of Ft. Lauderdale and saw Dr. Jones.  I asked her if the Biosol could have caused this and she said "no".  So, I kept giving it to my dog.  A couple of weeks later, I took my dog to Dr. Larry Dee at Hollywood Animal Hospital.  He said to stop giving her the Biosol because it caused the deafness.  I stopped giving it to her and her liver has been fine.  So, the medicine was never needed!  I later took my dog back to Dr. Cindy and told her what happened. She said RISK VERSUS BENEFIT!  I couldn't believe it!  There was NO BENEFIT and GREAT RISK!  She had never told me it was risky and didn't show any compassion.  Now my dog doesn't know when i come home, doesn't wag her tail when I talk to her, doesn't tilt her head when I talk to her, doesn't hear the commands and words she knew, doesn't hear "good girl" or "I love you".  She doesn't know when someone is at the door or when someone is talking to her.  This is the way it will be for the rest of her life.  If you ever hear the vets there say your dog has a liver problem, run out the door.  On a positive note, the women who work at the desk are terrific.  They're knowledgeable, kind, friendly and helpful. I have been going here with both my dogs for years. Both of my dogs died here because they were mis diagnosed. Both had gotten gravely ill from tumors while they were treated for everything else. My corgi had diarrhea was given meds galore and a large can of dog food. i discovered him the next morning on his back vomiting. My poodle was given numerous drugs and steroids for a cough I had to rush her to a overnight emergency clinic because she couldn't breath. She was on her death bed when I rushed her to Ft laud animal hospital the next morning.Here they did more invasive tests on her while she suffered . A tumor was then discovered on her liver€.we put her down. Her suffering at the hands of THis hospital was inexcusable. I have spent thousands of dollars for €€pain . Too many drugs prescribed and no real knowledge administered. I also returned a flea medication purchased here as it looked decayed upon opening. They refused to give me a new supply to replace it as the expiration date on the box was good for another year. Oh yes €...I kid you not. Im taking my new dog somewhere else. I love this veterinary practice so much that, even after moving from Ft Lauderdale to Delray, I continue to bring my cats here for their care. They are WONDERFUL with my cats (each with very different temperaments), they are patient and thorough with me (I tend to want a LOT of info about what's going on), and they know their stuff. They fit us in when an unexpected issue comes up, they are always friendly and welcoming, and they genuinely care about their patients as if they were their own. LOVE this clinic! The vets and staff go the extra mile to care for your pets. I will not trust any other clinic with my animals. We found this practice randomly seeking care for our older dog who was misdiagnosed by another vet. Dr. Bossart diagnosed our dog within 5 minutes of our visit. Dr. Jones had gone above and beyond helping my cat. I can't say enough good things about the vets and staff. Really like family. Wish we had found this place sooner!! Let me preface this review by stating that I had a 14 year old cat who had a history of hyperthyroidism and had recently taken a turn for the worse.  He had spent the night at an emergency vet where they had found a large mass on his kidney.  He had previously been to Animal Hospital of Fort Lauderdale and they had not found the mass, even though he was painfully thin.  The doctor at AHOFL recommended surgery, but I was skeptical...he was so frail and thin that I couldn't imagine putting him through it.  When I got home, I started to do some research for another vet/second opinion.  I found out that the Animal Hospital of Fort Lauderdale is an animal breeding clinic.  I was slightly taken aback by this fact since I am an avid supporter of adopting homeless animals.  A friend referred me to Heroes Veterinary Clinic in Pompano and that is where our cat received supportive care...and we were told that he would most likely not survive a surgical procedure.  We had to make the painful decision to let him go since he was suffering.  Through this terrible time, it was wonderful to have the caring and knowledgeable people at Heroes there to take care of him and us. One of the best and educated in south Florida! If it wasn't for Dr. Schneider, my dog would've died. After bringing her to her previous vet, they misdiagnosed her and gave her medicine that didn't work. 24 hours later I rushed her to the animal hospital, they saw her right away and since then she's been happy and healthy! Staff is great. they are took good care of Zar. they understood what our needs were and didn't over vaccinate overcharge i only got what we needed. i live near by and actually walk my dog there a lot he loves all the smells on the grass. Oh Henry!  Playful English Bulldog Henry eats his green ball (2nd time), complete blockage, needs surgery!  OMG, not again.  He's 3 years old and a little cray cray (crazy).  First thought it was pancreatitis, nope.  Saved me some money by skipping the tests that may push it through, smart move.  My primary vet even said they have the hi def X-ray equipment and a great team of pros. Albeit the facility is pricey, they save bad a___'s life and calmed me down each passing day as he recovered. Doctors Cindi, Moles, Schneider (always reassuring) & Jones (oh the joy she spread with her laughter).  The team that welcomed us, called, guided and understood, Becky, Andrea and Marissa (always a kind sincere interaction) Thank you!!We are blessed to have you serve our community and be guardians of our 'fur kids' and their well being.  Henry is back to being his unusual self (god help me) and is thankful you saved his life.  Say hi to that noisy bird for us!  LOL Read Less

Kelly and Marissa are wonderful! I came with my sister to give her kitty a check up. The kitty needed her nails trimmed and she was a nervous nelly. She is the only veterinarian that actually sat on the floor with my Weimeriner to examine her and she made both of us very comfortable. I couldn't disagree more with "Brandy"'s review of this vet. I've been taking my two dogs here for four year and am very happy with the service. I occasionally board my dogs there as well.
