Dr. Abolafia is superb!  She is genuine, straight-forward, and knows her stuff. My dog has made more improvement in a few hours than the last week since the injury occured.The program she graduated from at UF crosstrains the doctors with a mix of biomedical and holistic, a recipe for success for our modern world pets who are our hearts. I moved to Oakland Park in 2011 with two dogs and in search of a vet. Dr. Bergeron and his staff were recommended by a coworker and so I decided to give them a try. I found them friendly and supportive albeit a bit pricey. However, I still came to them because of the cleanliness of their space and the friendliness with which they always greeted me (though - I suspect - usually they were happier to see my dogs CJ and Bitsy).  But, the prices were always lurking in the back of my mind. Over the last year or so, CJ developed an aggressive malignant tumor. He was treated by Dr. Abolafia and I cannot but sing her praises. She took care of him, treated him, prepared me for what was coming, and kept in touch. I could not have asked for better care. Eventually the day came to make the decision to let my Little buddy go...a day engraved in my memory because of its difficulty. Dr. Bergeron was the veterinarian. He came in, talked to us, let us let him know when we were ready. He spoke with CJ and asked him for forgiveness for what he was about to do.  And CJ crossed the rainbow bridge peacefully. It was simultaneously one of the saddest and most beautiful moments I'd ever witnessed. Every cent was worth it. They recognize me when I walk in, follow through on each and every visit, and rule out unnecessary procedures or medications when possible. At the end of the day, when you have a vet asking your pet for forgiveness then you know you have a very special kind of place. Today I brought CJ's remains home. It was nothing like what I expected. The box, the letters, the sympathy card, the candle all made his coming home special. He came home with the dignity he deserved. My cat was infested with fleas a few years ago...it got really bad but when I brought him here they gave me a reasonable price. They not only washed my baby boy to get rid of his fleas but they informed me of medicine to give to him for fleas and gave him one. I was referred to Park Vet after meeting Dr Bourgeons wife.   I'm so grateful that I met her.  He is a very pleasant man that obviously loves his practice. I have been taking my dogs to Dr. B for over 15 years now. When he worked at Merryfield and grew into his own place in Oakland Park, he has always been professional with a friendly touch no matter what the reason my dogs would be in to see him. I've seen him on the floor to help with my dogs, whether it was to exam them, treat them, or to just calm them down. We've been in to see him from everything from the regular routine visits to having surgery because the dog ate something that he wasn't suppose to. Every time we were treated with the feeling like we were family. All the dogs that I have had and have now just love him. His wife (fiance` at that time) worked the front desk and gave extraordinary care and kindness to everyone (people and animals) that were waiting to see the doctor. They married and she stayed home to raise the family and is now back in the business of greeting and taking care of each and every animal and their families to walk through the door. DR. LOSS AND SHANE ARE AMAZING!!  I have been bringing my fur baby (pit) here on a biweekly basis for years. She LOVES going here! Dr. Loss is incredibly compassionate, knowledgeable, professional, patient and accommodating.  She carefully examines my fur baby, listens to my concerns and lets me know what the treatment options are and then helps me decide what's best. (My dog has ongoing skin allergies, has had a small growth on her toe removed and had a hematoma drained on one ear - like I said, we've gone to Dr. Loss for years!)  as a pet parent, I truly appreciate how much she cares for the well being of my pet.  I did have my dog checked by Dr. B and Dr. A while Dr. Loss was on leave and tbh, I wasn't impressed (a skin allergy flare up and an episode where my dog had trouble breathing after eating something in the yard). I'm sure they're great and knowledgeable so I won't dwell on this but i was dismissed when expressing valid concerns.Shane - the tech that bathes my pit every other week is just as awesome. I have full faith that my 'puppy' child is in good hands when I bring her here. She lights up when he comes out to pick her up from the lobby. He treats her like she's his and I am so thankful for that. She looks great after every bath, nails are trimmed, glands expressed, ears clean. I can always count on him to update me if he has noticed changes in her weight, skin, demeanor, etc. from when he saw her 2 weeks before (he's the one who noticed she had a hematoma on her ear!). The rest of the front desk staff and techs are great, too.  I have never seen anyone walk out of here disappointed or seem like they've had issues. Where can I start? Dr B was the well puppy check vet for my little Joey.. that was almost 15 years ago. Joey had many health issues and Dr. B never gave up on him, NEVER TOOK ADVANTAGE of us in regards to $$!! He is compassionate, loving, gentle and honest with not only our fur babies but with the pet owners. We sadly had to let Joey go. Now we have a puppy and the first place he visited was Dr B. I wish there were more stars for Park Veterinary Hospital. Dr Bergeron and his outstanding staff have been amazing throughout the 15 years we lived in Oakland Park. They have taken amazing care of all our fur babies providing rational and reasonable care in every situation. They don't rush to the most extreme solution first but carefully offer and explain the best conservative measures for the best results. The boarding facility for overnights as well as day board options were our salvation when we prepared our house for sale and showings, as well as during our move. So I moved from Miami to Pompano Beach almost a year ago and I have been searching for a vet literally since we moved. I love my dogs, so I am very particular and I have criteria.  I spent a long time searching for a groomer, as well, and my groomer recommended Dr. Bergeron. She worked for him for a period of time, she herself has dogs and she has gone to him ever since she opened her own business.Park Veterinary Hospital meets all my criteria. While I did not meet everyone today, everyone I met was friendly and happy and helpful.  I'm not a fan of big corporate, I like small family-owned/"homey" feel and Park is exactly that. Dr. Bergeron, you can tell right off the bat, is an animal lover. I have been to veterinarians where for them, to me, I feel like it's just their job. Here, you can feel that they all love what they do, the doctor and his staff. I found Dr. Bergeron to be confident, which made me very comfortable. I found the doctor and his staff to be open and honest and forthright -- very importantMy vet of the last six years, whom I had to leave because we left Miami and the drive is just too far and tedious, I loved him and he was my favorite vet over the previous seven or so vets I've used (we have always had dogs). We have vacationed in Lauderdale By The Sea the last two winters and have had to use the Hospital twice. The staff is excellent,thorough professional and caring. The entire staff went above and beyond for my mission to bring my dog with me to Amsterdam to live. Despite the fact that I was traveling and had surgery in the midst of what I felt was chaos. They made it so easy for me. As I originally went to a different vet prior to finding this location and as I know it's my responsibility to know what I need done in order to have my Gia accepted into another country. He never informed me that on top of the health certificates it would also need to be stamped at the department of agriculture, which was very hard to get in contact with and almost seemed impossible. Park veterinary hospital provided phone numbers and all worked together giving me directions to the USDA on top of working around my hectic schedule to make sure Gia was healthy, passing the regulations needed to enter the Netherlands and was good to go. Heartless thieves. They will tell you what you want to hear to keep you spending money. I spent thousands on my dog's condition, and all it did was keep him in misery even longer. I ended up having to put him down anyway. I knew that's probably what should have been done in the first place, but the crooks at Park made it sound like lung cancer for a dog is no big deal. A little over two months ago I became the newest family member of the PVH family. Just having made a huge move across the country, I stumbled into their facility only a short 3 days after arriving to my new homeland (which I had never been to before). Just coming to say hello, I wasn't prepared for the simple "hello-here is my face-please return my calls" that turned into a 2 hour interview in which I shook hands with almost the whole team. Upon getting hired I was indifferent to the drastic changes that I was being exposed to. I was quite, and to myself. Not saying much unless asked. Seeing this, and even only knowing very little about me, the staff started to make me feel welcomed and like part of the team right away. As the days went by I found myself being excited to meet all of the new-to-me clients and patients that came my way. Seeing so many beautiful souls in the 9-12 hours I spend there a day, left me very humbled. Being up front I get to see a lot of things that go on throughout the business day. It is near impossible to find a new Vet that you can trust, is reliable and has a staff who is always positive. On top on moving to South Florida last year, my best friend (dog) was diagnosed with Lymphoma and I had a difficult time coping. Dr. Bergeron and his staff are not just in the business of a veterinary/boarding business. It is obvious from the beginning that they are all animal and people lovers. My mother was aging and disabled but owned a gorgeous beagle that needed special help and Dr. B was always there with that special care for the beagle and my mother's concerns and inabilities. I praise him for that as it was not always easy. He now cares for the newer beagle that mom left behind and she adores him, I trust him and his new facility is outrageously high tech to provide for the pet AND the owner. Love it!
