My 25 year old QH gelding went in for a tumor to be removed from the corner of his eye last week. The staff was great and Dr. Adams called me before the surgery and went over options with the procedure and he was very accommodating with my work schedule to get everything done quicker so my horse would not have to stay an extra day because I couldn't get him the next day the way it was. Dr. Phillips was able to fit him in to do his teeth while he was there too. Dr. Phillips is my regular vet and has caught a few things in the past that he made perfect calls on the treatments which resulted in quick recovery time. He also has worked with me around my work schedule for coggins and appointments which I appreciate. I have all the confidence in the world with this practice and I thank all staff involved. Read Less

I was referred here for colic surgery on my gelding due to a strangulating lipoma and was advised he needed emergency surgery in order to survive. Initially I wanted to take him to the large animal hospital in Gainesville because of my previous experience with that hospital but due to the severity of his illness time was of the essence and this facility was about 30 minutes closer. I feel the diagnosis I received was accurate however the prognosis for his recovery was not.Read Less

From the ladies up front to the Dr's and nurses everyone was friendly and helpful. My gelding had a squamous cell carcinoma removed. I was informed every step of the way. This tropical storm had me nervous about leaving so early in the morning to come and pick him up and they told me they wouldn't charge the extra stall fee if I had to come later because of the storm. I am very grateful for that. They were out of power when I got there and the Dr. text me the medicine discharge paperwork. It was worth the hour and a half drive for my horse to have great care! Awesome experience! I was referred to EMCO by my vet after my horse started having severe convulsions in his hind end. I would have had to put him down if we didn't haul him to EMCO. I couldn't be more grateful. The staff was awesome! They let us set up lawn chairs and sit by his stall every day while he was there recovering. Everybody was friendly and professional. I hope I never have to go there again for an emergency case, but I would certainly use their services again if I had to! Thank you for saving my horse! Read Less

I gave a 2 star and not a 1 because our first experience last year was good. They had a real stallion handler with experience. The last time I took my stallion there he came so close to getting kicked over and over (double bucked kicked to the knees-this is why we do AI for the safety) and the vet didn't stop it from happening until my husband yelled, enough. Not to mention I have come for appointments and had to wait around an hour to collect in the heat. Furthermore, the vet always wants to wash the stallion in the aisle where it is very slick and equipment piled all over where my stallion can back into or fall. He never does get erection to be cleaned in that spot (probably because he knows he shouldn't in the middle of the barn) and they always end up in the breeding shed anyway (so why even risk injury) to clean so I requested to stop trying there and to just go to the breeding shed. Not to mention it is bad behavior to have him worked up with horses in stalls and standing in the aisle of a barn. I have had to ask the staff to change the linings because they were dirty and had blood on it from a previous collection (sad I had to ask to be changed). I made some simple request to make the situation safer for my stallion and I was told to go elsewhere in stead of trying to work something out right smack in the middle of breeding season. Very unprofessional. During the collection the bottle pooped off twice once time losing 1/2 the collection (I have never seen that happen before). Also there would be techs coming from ICU unit to handle my stallion not knowing if they could have a potential infectious disease that could be transmitted (which we denied their services and requested someone that didn't have exposure). This review seems to be the only breeding, it is good to see there are good reviews for the medical side of the hospital. I would not recommend for breeding. TyRead Less

I cannot say enough good things about EMCO. They did an amazing job with my imported mare Tic Tac when she got Pleuroneumonia at the quarantine on her way from Europe. The care she received was top notch, the doctors and the staff were compassionate, they took a lot of time to explain was going on with my mare, they involved me with all the decisions and answered all my phone calls in a very timely manner. The staff spoiled my mare during the several weeks she spent at the hospital. The pharmacy was super easy to deal with to get all her prescriptions filled over the course of the 3 months treatment.Thank you so much for saving my big girl. The many vets I talked to at other practices and my local vets, all told me that most horses going through what my mare went through don't make it. Well she beat the odds and is doing fantastic. #teamtictacRead Less
