My name is Ellen Pavlik President and founder of Joshua's House for Golden Rescue. We have brought many dogs up to the University. Both through the emergency department and the regular hospital appointments. We have always had the very best care for all the dogs we have brought up. We now have Murphy (The Little GoldenDoodle) who had a fractured spine and two crushed disks. He did have surgery and now goes twice a week for physical therapy. But the one VERY special person I want to mention is Dr. Luiz Bolfer a Cardiologist ,He saw a Golden we had just imported from Turkey through the rescue groups in Florida.Yanni had a grade 4-5 heart murmur. And it was found to be SAS. But since Yanni has no symptoms he said he could be adopted with a check in a year. This man was the best, kindest most caring person we have ever met at the University or any place. Thank you so very much Dr. Bolfer from Yanni and all of us at Joshua's House. There are no words that can truly express my gratitude to UF Small Animal Hospital, particularly their ICU. They saved my dog when multiple other vets told me there was no hope, no options, no chance. My then 6-year-old Yorkie, Beesly, was at the UF ICU for 32 days. We rushed him over 350 miles away to get there and I'm so glad we did. We are grateful for every day with him and thanks to hemodialysis (the only place in the state that offers it for dogs), and lots of TLC, he survived leptospirosis when no one said he would. Almost a year later, he is perfectly healthy on no meds and will lead a long and healthy life by my side. Dr. Sam Campos, the whole ICU staff, and senior vets were amazing. I hope this post gets to all the wonderful staff that took care of my precious mare , Corita at the large animals vet. I would like to thank each and every one of them from the bottom of my heart. I brought my my faithful loving horse of 16 years to them 1 month ago with my heart totally torn. From the moment we arrived and even before we got there they were so genuinely concerned for her. They showed true love , compassion, and empathy toward her and myself. When I had to make the choice her to put her to rest I was not able emotionally to be there. But from my experience with the staff I believe they showed her the love, compassion, and empathy till her last breath. It was one of the hardest days of my life and somehow knowing from what I experienced and saw with the staff I felt comfort. Dr Kirkpatrick was very professional and kind. Know that because of everyone's love that I saw towards my best faithful friend helped me, my family and friends in so many ways. Thanks for listening to all my stories we told you about her and how much we loved her. I know you listened because the comments were in the sweet card that was sent to me. Thank you so much. Please continue the amazing care from your hearts. It made a difference in my life. Sincerely with all my heart... Kristie wardRead Less
