Every time I come to Banfield I hope it gets better but it always fails me so this will be my last time there. The extra star is because I pretty much got what I came here for- test results. Test results which I will now use to take to a different vet to get a second opinion. Dr. Norton just seems so overworked and like she doesn't like her job. She is not approachable, she is extremely cold and her bedside manner leaves much to be desired. It didn't even really seem like she likes animals which is always so disappointing in a vet. I agree with the review that the staff doesn't seem really even happy to be there. Search for a vet that is caring, thorough and likes their job. I would never recommend banfield ever! They refused to help my dying dog! They lied and said they were helping customers and they refused to help my dog when it was an emergency. My dog was pooping blood and they didn’t want to help me , told me I had to go to an ER after I have the plan with them ! I pay all this money for them not to help me ! I pay $50 every month and I’ve had them for 4 years and it’s a waste of money. I had to go pay $1,200 at an ER! They do not fulfill there commitment on the plans they have for your dog. I wish I could rate below a 1!!!! I was given a undeniable Sweet shihtzu puppy as a Christmas gift from my mother. Before given my puppy, my mother made sure that everything was checked out with my boy with a year stretch in between getting majority of other things he needed. I was given a coupon for a Free general exam & consultation to Banfield Hospital so I chose the location in Ocoee, FL off of West Colonial Dr. WHAT A MISTAKE! I am big on customer service as it is a big part of life- it’s just who you are! Being a new dog owner I expected them to be helpful and knowledgeable but they were neither! Recommended vaccinates that my dog “needed” were not explained instead I was given a pamphlet which described them. I was picked at, laughed at and felt completely disrespected! I was unable to use the coupon for whatever reason but that was not the biggest issue. My biggest problem was being belittled. After mentioning the coupon, they treated me as if I could not afford to pay OOP for my baby. Discrimination at its finest! My feelings were beyond hurt and I will never let any person there Lay a finger on my dog!!!!!!! PLEASE take these reviews into consideration as I should have before scheduling an appointment! I've been taking Teddy here since he was 8 weeks and he adores them! They were always kind and gentle with him. He is always excited to visit them. Sadly, we've moved to Jacksonville and we can no longer visit them, but I HIGHLY recommend them! They ask many questions about your pups health, routines and answer all the questions we've had. They always made sure Teddy was comfortable while they examined him. They would greet us as soon as they saw us! They're very polite and professional. They're the best Veterinary team I've ever met! Horrible! Made a 10am appointment for a simple rabies vaccine. Checked in at desk and gave my info. An hour and 5 minutes later I was told I was still waiting because I was considered a walk-in by the woman who checked me in at 10 FOR MY APPOINTMENT! Never got the shot. Unbelievable! Read Less

I am not a new pet owner, but I really like the way they treat and care for my puppy here. I saw the reviews here and I disagree. I have use Bandfield in the past when I lived in California and my family uses it in Miami. I waited 'til my third visit to confirm that this is a good place to bring my precious puppy. I have tried numerous times at a wide variety range of times to pop in for a nail trim, or anal gland care and they have never been able to make themselves available for my pet. I have been to numerous Banfields between SC, VA and other parts of Florida and have always walked right in, not here, which is a shame since I live 3 miles from this location. I took my cat here because he had an abscess on his ear. I dropped him off and they called and told me he wouldn't let them examine him. I offered to be there and they said it wasn't allowed and he would need sedation and 2 tests to see if the mass was cancer. Total cost $418.75. They never examined him because he was in his carrier in a cage. I picked him up and took him to Piedmont Vetenary Hospital. They examined him with no problem and said they would not do any surgery while the area was infected. The visit, exam, antibiotic shot and collar was a total of $107.50. I have the same issue as Jessica. There is an older woman that is never pleasant when I visit. She isn't rude she just doesn't seem to care. On another note a few months ago my dog was having what they called "focal seizures" and as you can imagine I was extremely concerned. Whenever I would call and tell the staff that she was having an episode the staff would tell me that they were busy that day. I asked when is the soonest they can see her and it was always day later. By then whatever damage could occur would have been done. Very disappointed with this location. I still have to bring her to this Vet because I have no choice. But once my contract is over with the Wellness plan I will be looking for other options. The front desk staff here is horrendous. There is an older lady that I absolutely dread speaking with. I am a new pet owner and called on numerous occasions to find out about the Wellness Plan. The first time I was placed on hold for over five minutes when I called back she told me I find any information I needed online. What a great way to deter new pet owners from coming to Banfield. I called today on the recommendation of a family member. I wanted details on the preventative care plan. The woman who answered was abrupt and initially told me to go to the web site. I asked a few more questions to which i got more curt responses, even though I told her I am new to per ownership and was merely trying to get an understanding of their program. The Staff doesn't seem very excited about their job which should tell you something. There are comments on Google with 5 stars by the hospital themselves, if that's not a red flag I don't know what is. No one seems really concerned about my pet, it's more of a 1 goes in, you bill them or write up a bunch of ridiculous estimates about procedures and surgeries your pet really probably doesn't need, and then its on to the next.. Every time I have went there the doctors change, you never see the same doctor there for more than a year. I'm writing this review because I'm fed up. Banfield is a chain and the people they employee don't seem to hold true to the veterinary oath. They seem to employ inexperienced young doctors who are trained to up-sell. I brought my dog in and they charged me a crazy amount for some procedures and then pushed an immediate surgery costing thousands of dollars. I took my same dog to Park Ave Vet in Apopka and they said my dog is fine, and he is fine. thank god I didn't follow the directions of this clinic. All they do is try to find ways to make money off you and your pet. Do yourself a favor, take the drive and go to Park Ave Vet in Apopka, they are truly the most caring, genuine and educated vet I've ever experienced and in case of and ER you actually call the doctors directly, you're not pushed onto and expensive after hours clinic with some weird doctor you don't know. This current vet Dr.Dasari is very personable,has good bed side manner and expert in pets health conditions and surgeris . He saved my dog CECIL a 10 yr old poodle by removing a very aggressive cancerous testicle that was retained in abdomen for 10 yr that ignored for past 10 yrs his previous vets that him . I cannot thank this vet enough because my pet is life for me . He recovered well and now cancer free only because of this fantastic vet over there . Prices are reasionable at this clinic and they called me 3 days in a row after his major surgery .I highly recommend this vet and rest is assured in thier hands . Read Less

love the vet and the staff .They all look for better ways to cure pets medical problems and go an extra mile to save pets. The current vet at this clinic poses very good depth of knowledge about pets conditions , takes time atime to explain, and has very good bed side manner . I cannot fathom why somebody gave a negative remark about this vet as he literally saved my dog "Teddy" from death roll .He stayed with him alone himself after every staff left until 10 pm over weekend to give him enough fliuds as he was going through Addisonian crisis and from the outset even before any blood work was done he was confident that he has that hormonal deficiency which is named afterDr. Addison who discovered that in humans . We felt very previleged to have Dr.Dasari on that weekend for our beloved Teddy and I'm sure he would not be alive if it were to be seen by someother vet . I have been using this location for close to a year and I finally got fed up enough that I switched to Oveido. These people are a total nightmare. The nurses are rude. The doctors are incompetent. About the only people who have their act together are the front desk clerks who unfortunately get all of the frustration caused by the back end taken out on them. Dont plan on going to this location and getting out within 2 hours. If you have a drop off appointment, plan on waiting 1 to 2 hours just to pick your pet up! Drive to the Banfield in Oveido, get a Dr. who cares, nurses who are the BEST and still save yourself an hour or two! Read Less
