While spending the winter months in Clearwater, our dog developed diarrhea. We chose Woodlands Animal Hospital. It had great reviews. During our dogs examination, Dr. Kitz discovered Kody had a cracked tooth with pulp showing. She suggested that we have the tooth removed. She went over in detail how she would perform the extraction. We could have Dr Kitz do it, she would give us other vetineran names, or wait till we got home. We were very impressed with her thorough examination of Kody. We were given a detailed quote as to cost along with written information on tooth removal for dogs to read. After consulting with our vet in back in Michigan, we decided to have Dr Kitz removed the tooth. Upon arrival, the vet tech went over the procedure and assured us that if there was anything wrong with Kody's blood work the tooth would not be removed. Dr. Kitz called after surgery & told us how great Kody was doing. When we picked him up late after, the vet tech went over medicines to give him and food along with xrays of the tooth. It was in terrible condition. Dr. Kitz showed us the tooth along with going over the procedure and future care of Kody. After just a few days, Kody is back to normal. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Kitz, the vet techs, and receptionist. They were all so kind and understanding. No question was left unanswered. If we lived here permanently, Woodlands Animal hospital and Dr. Kitz would be our Veterinarian.

We recently had to put our beloved family dog down. The veterinarian and staff made this horrible situation as stress free on our dog as possible. They made her very comfortable. She didn't even finish her jar of baby food before she was fast asleep. She was happily snoring away. Then the vet gave the final shot and our dog was none the wiser. I can not thank the wonderful people that work here enough. The last moments for my dog were fillled with happiness. For that I will always be truely grateful.

I used to work as a Vet Tech, and I can attest to the fact that Dr. Odland is an honest, caring, down-to-earth veterinarian. He doesn't charge for unnecessary things, is straight with you about your animal's care, and tends to be considerably less expensive than many other area Vets.

Love Dr. Odland. Have been to his hospital over the years for 'emergencies' and have never been turned away. His diagnosis are accurate. He recommends appropriate care. His treatments are on target. All three of my dogs have been successfully treated by Dr. Odland. Also affordable without recommendations of unnecessary treatments. Thank you Dr. Odland!! Very pleasant staff as well. Dr. Odland's sense of humor is priceless!!!!

Dr. Odland, you killed our dog Sammy by being negligent! Early this year our 12 year old Schnauzer needed surgery. During this procedure Dr. Odland did not administer IV fluids. After talking to several other vets, we found out how important it was to administer IV fluids. We wish you would have at least offered this option to us. We asked you and assumed that you would do everything to make this procedure as safe as possible. The end result of your failure to administer IV Fluids was the loss of our sweet Sammy on June 2nd because of kidney failure. Sammy was a Prime candidate to receive the life saving IV fluids because:1.)The University of Veterinary Medicine recommends,that any dog over the age of 7 years should get IV fluids,no matter how big or small the procedure may be. 2.) Sammy had a heart murmur 3.) Sammy had a stroke in 20114.) Sammy was allergic to his yearly vaccinations. You had to write the excuseletter for several years to the state so he could be exempted from receiving theyearly vaccination. Considering all of these facts you did a poor job concerning the safety and wellbeing of our beloved dog Sammy. We hold you solely responsible for the death of our family member. This post is to raise awareness and inform other people,so they can ask the right questions before just simply trusting their vet to do the right thing. Dr. Odland is the finest veterinary surgeon in Florida. His staff is extremely gracious, knowledgeable and caring. His ability to almost instantly diagnose the problem shows his unsurpassed depth of expertise. A few necessary tests prove that he has it right the first time. Also, a sweet, sweet man who keeps the animal at ease. Can't recommend this clinic to enough people. SUPERB!!

Dr. Odland is the best of old world small animal vets. He doesn't try to sell you on latest hype. He is knowledgable and provides excellent routine care. He is kindly, pleasant staff and no waiting in a room full of animals. Facilities are clean and efficient. I love the hook they have at the counter so you can tie up your animal while doing paperwork. Neat idea. I understand the other review about the powered table but the owner is not trained to handle the dog and if she gets injured while trying to restrain her dog, that would also be an issue. I have seen no better way to examine a 90 pound dog. The doctor and assistant do the best they can. He gives the dogs treats and calmly speaks to him. He does let me stroke my (rescue) dogs head and speak reassuring words to help. I would highly recommend Dr. Odland.

Just had the worst experience at this local vet. My dog, being a rescue, is quite scared once put in the table. She was manhandled until I thought she was going to fall off of the table. When I asked if I could hold her, I was told to Stand, Stay and Be Quiet and that I was not allowed to hold her. Unreal. I walked out with my dog and no resolution to the issue we were there for. Now I have a dog that is more scared of the vet. Never again.

My Boxer/Pit doesn't enjoy the Vet. She normally has her tail between her legs and shaking when she goes on the scale. Everyone at the office is so nice ! Ino actually doesn't freeze up as much as she used to at our old Vet. I love how knowledgeable and happy everyone is. If they don't know.. they'll find out. Love, Love, Love, this Vet!!

We recently had to put our beloved family dog down. The veterinarian and staff made this horrible situation as stress free on our dog as possible. They made her very comfortable. She didn't even finish her jar of baby food before she was fast asleep. She was happily snoring away. Then the vet gave the final shot and our dog was none the wiser. I can not thank the wonderful people that work here enough. The last moments for my dog were fillled with happiness. For that I will always be truely grateful.

His ability to almost instantly diagnose the problem shows his unsurpassed depth of expertise. A few necessary tests prove that he has it right the first time. Ino actually doesn't freeze up as much as she used to at our old Vet. I love how knowledgeable and happy everyone is. If they don't know.. they'll find out. Love, Love, Love, this Vet!!
