Dr Hopkins and his staff are great!!!! Our 8 year old Boston Terrier "Pebbles" got hurt the week of Christmas. She was barely walking due to pain. As it turned out she had cervical spine herniation and needed spine surgery to get her better. Dr. Hopkins and his staff provided excellent care to Pebbles. Surgery went great and Pebbles was back with us for Christmas. Now she is back to all her fun activities, this would not have happened without Dr. Hopkins skills and care. Read Less

They know how much we love our pets and realize the expense we are putting into them and make sure that the experience from beginning to end is of quality and superb satisfaction. Dr. Hopkins is an exceptional Vet. I appreciated the quality time and communication with him and the willingness to meet me on a weekend to get my dog from surgery so I can have him with me. In the space of 12 hours my dog, Scruffy, went from an occasional bark of discomfort to complete paralysis and total loss of sensation of his hind quarters. We brought him to Dr Meeks. He examined him and carefully explained what he saw as the problem and the chances of success. They operated that night and saw a disc at L12 had "exploded" hardened material all the way up to C5 and damaged several nerves along the route. We were able to take him home 4 days later. Dr Meeks also explained the chances Scruffy had of returning to normal. Within a week Scruffy was walking (a little woobly) and now two months after surgery he is doing very well. He runs, chases the cats and is acting pretty much his old self. Drs Meeks and Hopkins always kept us informed by calling every morning with an update and never acted rushed or impatient with all our questions. Great Doctors and clinic staff! Read Less

This doctor comes highly recommended from of vet. We walked in and were greeted very warmly by the staff. When we got to meet the doctor he was very nice and offered some good small talk about what is happening with our dog. He was gentle with of pooch during the exam. He tested for this, that, and two other things. The new wasn't the greatest for our old mutt. She could cost us a ton of money but we all do what we have to for our kids. After noticing my dog was slowing down way too early in life and in pain our vet thought it might be arthritis or orthopedic...X-rays showed it was her spine - so we were referred to NFN.  For scheduling our first appointment the woman on the phone was more than helpful in making our appointment and explaining costs and office policy as well as giving a bit of driving advice so I didn't drive past the clinic!  Dr Hopkins was very thorough with my baby and noted she does need surgery, but allowed us to try steroids to see how they would help.  While they help, she definitely needs the surgery and we (both Dr Hopkins and my husband and I) didn't want to keep her on steroids long term but they gave us time to handle some things on our end until I was able to devote the time to her surgery.  Called today to get her recheck prior to surgery and we have an appointment tomorrow :). Dr Hopkins has been in touch with me and our veterinarian via telephone and email the whole time and is an excellent Doctor.  I highly recommend their services.  Yes, it is pricey but none of their procedures would be inexpensive for humans either...something to keep in mind. Our family was recommended to bring our dog here after having issues with his back legs. He became paralyzed for 2 days out of nowhere, and he was not able to move his back legs or support himself. Our normal vet and surgeon eliminated any possible orthopedic issues and they thought it was neurological. They were able to get us in on a really short notice at 8:30am because Reagan was in such bad condition. We had initial contact with Dr. Tracy who walked us through everything with the examination, and Dr. Hopkins followed up to confirm the findings and examination as well as the xrays/MRI later on. They found two tumors on his spine with a possibility of cancer in his lymph nodes. This was devastating news because the only option was to watch him suffer with pain medication and radiation or put him to sleep. I held his paw the entire time and hugged him goodbye. Dr. Hopkins retrieved a tennis ball upon my request and I stuck it in his mouth because Reagan would not have wanted it any other way. The entire staff was kind and took care of Reagan and us through the difficult process of putting Reagan to sleep. It was extremely difficult to do. If you need the services that this place offers I would absolutely recommend them. It's not going to be cheap, but you don't come to these pet specialty services for cheap services. Dr. Cottrell from West End Animal Hospital here. I referred over a Miniature Pinscher named Dixie last week, who I suspected had a brain tumor. Unfortunately, you confirmed the diagnosis with MRI, but Dixie's owners were extremely grateful that you were able to see her so quickly, and give them an answer. Dixie had a good afternoon, and then she was euthanized, surrounded by people who loved her. Thank you for giving her owners peace and closure. Read Less

My vet Dr. Harris referred us to North Florida Neurology and they were an absolute blessing. Wonderful service. We Got an appointment immediately, never had to wait, the staff was wonderful. They called after Madden's CT to confirm that she needed surgery, they called after surgery, after she woke up from anesthesia, and periodically until I could pick her up! I cannot explain the happiness I felt when madden RAN into the room. I would highly recommend this practice. Professional, excellent service, caring towards the animals AND their owners. The entire staff here is just awesome. My doxie has IVDD( disk disease) and has required surgery twice, 14 months apart. My vet called NFN and they had me come in ASAP and that they would be waiting on us. The second time Abby blew a disk I called NFN instead of my regular vet and again they told me come right on in. Both times I was called before surgery and again after surgery, and was also told I was welcome to call at any time to check on my baby. Upon discharge, again the surgeon was very thorough with what they did and what to expect. I feel so very comfortable with these surgeons and I knew my baby was in extemely competent hands . I pray Abby never has to have another surgery or even another disk episode, but if she does, I can assure you this is where we will go. oh, and I dont think I have even sat in the waiting room but once and that was for a post op recheck and I may have sat in the waiting room at the most 10 minutes. Our family was recommended to bring our dog here after having issues with his back legs. He became paralyzed for 2 days out of nowhere, and he was not able to move his back legs or support himself. The entire staff was kind and took care of Reagan and us through the difficult process of putting Reagan to sleep. It was extremely difficult to do. If you need the services that this place offers I would absolutely recommend them. It's not going to be cheap, but you don't come to these pet specialty services for cheap services. You come here for genuine care for your pets.Love you buddy 3/18/2007 - 1/7/2016 Read Less

Read Less

Madden had compression of her spinal cord that rendered her unable to walk. It was the most devastating thing to watch. They are perfect! Read Less

I believe the negative review here might possibly be a mistaken review for another office. I've been going here for years and this office very obviously goes way out of their way to provide service that is much better I've ever had at any other vet. In fact, the service is better than I've ever had at a human's doctor. These doctors and their employees are caring and professional people. Read Less

I would highly recommend North Florida Neurology to anyone that needed this type of specialty care for a four legged member of their family. All of the staff are very friendly and caring and make sure that all your questions are thoroughly answered. The doctors are very professional knowledgeable and caring. They took great care of my dog on very short notice and over the course of the weekend. I was included every step of of the way so my worries and feats would be as minimized as possible.   Grat job and highly recommend!! Read Less

If I could give negative stars, I would.  The vet kept calling my dog a "him," when she's a girl- after I had corrected him several times, and, of course, there is the obvious anatomical difference.  The vet I dealt with and the office manager are two one of the rudest people I have ever encountered.  I could go on and on, but simply put, my dog was not happy there, and neither was I. When my dog Ginger woke up paralyzed, I went to my vet immediately. He said she must have injured her back. I asked where is the best place to take her. He replied, the ONLY place I would take my dog is North Florida Neurology. Boy was he right. They got me in within an hour of making the call. Their staff helped me get Ginger into their hospital. They calmed me down. The doctor, Dr. Clarke was wonderful. They have a catscan in their hospital and by noon I found out she had slipped a disc in her back. Dr. Clarke called me before surgery and after surgery. She is doing fine and is walking again. I can't thank them enough. Read Less
