You can not ask for a better place for your fur-children. Dr.Doug Jones and the team at the Animal Health Center are excellent in every step of the way. It is a very comforting feeling to know that your loved ones are in the best of hands. Knowing that most dogs do not particularly enjoy the "vet visit experience" I have to mention that Loki (my wirefox terrier) actually is in love with the Animal Health Center team and makes sure that we visit at least once a week during our walks just to say hi. I brought my cat Genji to Doctor Jones today after reading great reviews here on yelp and I was not disappointed. His initial exam was slightly pricy at $60 but it was well worth it for the thorough care he gave my baby. I brought him in because he had a watery eye and as he was looking at both of his eyes extensively and taking his temperature he was explaining the whole time some background information on cats in general that I did not know about as well as let me know that he had an eye infection and gave me clear instructions on how to dispense it to him. I had been keeping my cat on a strict prescription weight loss diet for almost two months now and so we did a good weigh in of him and he went over lots of things about how to keep up the good work and maintain his weight. I was given several pamphlets and charts describing my cats current weight and weight loss goals. We were seen in a timely manner and Doctor Jones spent probably a good 45 minutes on my beloved friend. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for an amazing veterinarian in the Orlando area. Thanks so much to Dr. Young and his staff, who provided the Best care to my special boy! We were in town for the Eukenuba Dog Show and located Dr. Young and the Animal Health Center using yp.com. The receptionist was personable AND knowledgable when I called with questions. Dr. Young took time explaining our care options and did a wonderful job with Lombardi - who is my pride and joy and my heart! We'll be returning for the Eukenuba Dog Show in 2013. I had been going to Dr. Jones for years and  he always reminded me a little of Mr. Rogers! Just so sweet natured and genuinely caring, and patient! You never feel rushed, he takes the time to answer any possible question you may have and does so with sensitivity and compassion. His staff is also lovely and have been there for ages which speaks volumes about him as a boss as well! Regretfully I have moved way across town and had to establish myself with someone closer to home in case of an emergency but, I truly do miss him. The vet office itself is clean and doesn't smell like a vets office. The techs are nice and polite. The vet himself is AMAZING! So patient and thorough. I have found my vet for life as long as I'm here in Florida. He spent an hour with me and my little Miko going over diet, dental treatments, prevention, just about everything. Once more I need to sing the praises of Dr. Jones and his staff !!! Today he saved yet another dog of ours. We took our boy Shadow in yesterday as he was not hisself. Dr. Jones knew just what was wrong a tumor on his spleen and removed spleen and tumor today. This is the most caring Vet and staff in the world they really enjoy helping animals. We were so blessed to be referred to Dr. Doug Jones of Animal Health Center in Orlando! Pet experts in Orlando clearly agree that Dr. Jones not only knows his stuff, but gives quality, loving care. We brought our cat to Dr. Jones after a long stretch of mis-diagnoses and general apathy toward his issues (and OUR furniture!) Right away, Dr. Jones listened, focused, and came up with an action plan to find the root cause of our cat's issue. Dr. Jones was able to narrow it down and finally put an end to the cat's agony and our rising furniture costs. Our cat is living a long, healthy life, and though we have relocated out of town, we absolutely commute to bring him to Animal Health Center as necessary, because Dr. Jones is a demonstrative, caring, warm, INTELLIGENT, ethical, kind man who honestly cares more about his patients than he does about paying his electric bills. Dr. Jones has proven to us that he is not only a world class, highly educated and forward-thinking veterinarian, but also a wonderful person whom we are grateful to have in our lives, caring for our cat. I cannot say enough about Dr. Doug Jones. You will just love him. His staff is kind, warm, professional, thorough, and willing to assist patients (and their owners) by making things convenient. Oh, and did I mention that they have Saturday hours? I believe we have been working with Animal Health Center for approximately 7 years, and our cat's quality of life has improved....and SO HAS OURS! I have had an emergency with my cat today. Brought my cat to see Dr. Doug Jones and after determining that my cat needed emergency surgery for a urinary blockage, Dr. Doug made my child his #1 priority. I left Orlando last fall and the one thing I miss most is this wonderful veterinarian.  Dr. Doug Jones is the best vet my dog Frida has ever had in her 9-1/2 years of age, and that includes Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose and Jackson Hole.  Not only is Dr. Jones incredible with animals, but he's just as great with the owners.  He has a way about him, his pleasant manner, the very calm cadence of speech, to make both canine & human calm!  The primary thing is that he knows his medicine, and never tries to push unnecessary medicines or procedures, and I agree with Janene below that he gives you plenty of time - you are never rushed out.  His staff is also wonderful, and the hospital is one of the most modern and clean ones I've seen in Orlando.  And prices are very reasonable.  When I found Dr. Jones and the Animal Health Center, I immediately knew that this was my dog's vet as long as we lived in Central Florida.  Even when we moved from Orlando proper to Clermont, I'd still make the 45-minute drive down so that my dog would be seen by him.Now I'm in San Francisco, possibly the dog-friendliest city in the world, and there are plenty of fine veterinarians, but I'm having a bit of trouble finding just the right one who's not only good at what he/she does, not only good bedside manner, but who's not gonna drain my bank account.  I hope to find someone at least almost as good as Dr. Jones. Dr. Jones takes plenty of time and fully explains anything he is going to do for your pet. From complex surgery, to teeth cleaning, to a battle with fleas. He is very one-on-one. Their office is modern, clean, and newer than any others in Orlando. Seldom does their front waiting area have other pets waiting... hence no dog vs cat or dog vs dog going on out front. Dr. Jones -- the ONLY veterinarian at this location -- is the most caring vet we have seen across the country. We had good vets in Ohio, Illinois, Michigan and elsewhere, but NONE who care for their patients and your concerns like Doug Jones. His staff is uniformly competent -- perhaps because he has had so little turn over in his practice's history. We have taken our golden retrievers to him for almost ten years, and never once been disappointed. The only mistake you can make with Doug Jones is NOT GETTING YOUR ANIMAL TO SEE HIM SOON ENOUGH. Arriving in Orlando recently I could find no solid recommendation for a good vet. I visited two via an internet search only to discover old facilities, with indifferent staffs -- doctors were ok, but at least one overcharged me. Then someone at a dog park recommended Animal Health Center and Dr. Doug Jones. Oh, how I wish I had found him before! Nice, modern and CLEAN facility. Staff excellent -- knowledgeable, friendly, highly professional. I KNEW the second Dr. Jones walked into the room that he would be THE vet for us as long as we live here -- the search was over. From the way he presents himself in terms of his demeanor and look, to his interaction with my girl, to his medical knowledge, to the ample time spent, there wasn't even a moment's hesitation about him. This fellow is as great with the owner as with the pet -- which means a lot. AND, no frivolous charges -- very reasonable. If you've been searching for a vet, look no further.
