This Doctor is very knowledgeable. I have been taking my Bearded Dragon here since he was 10 grams!! He gives you options where if you need to adjust the treatment on budget he will let you know home remedies and help any way he can. The staff is very nice and helpful especially when you have your hands full with a dragon, dog and gecko. I live in Deltona and I make the drive to see him because no one else in my area is willing to work with your options and needs. When I moved to Orlando three years ago, I went to the internet to find a veterinary practice close to my home, and with some decent reviews (I'm an avid yelper so I went there).  I brought my 8 year old indoor cat in for a checkup and was THRILLED!  First, the place is clean!  It never smells like urine or that weird sterilizing cleanser so many vet offices get.  The office staff is friendly, and genuinely cares about both patients and their humans.  Listening to Susan answer the phone and speak with patients humans is wonderful, you can tell she loves animals.  The entire staff is understanding and compassionate through good or bad news (our youngest kitten first delivered a positive FIV/lukemia result and they saw in my face how sad I was and explained options as well as reassurance that it was a very faint positive so we could retest and go from there.  Happy to report she is negative and healthy as of this mornings visit). Dr. Bruce is wonderful.  He will tell you as much or as little as you would like to know.  He doesn't try to sell you on the most expensive treatment, often he will tell you a few different options  so you can find one within your budget.   He is sweet to your pet, and after many years in his field is still excited about his work (as I was leaving there was a phone call for Two sick snakes coming in and he was as excited as a kid on Christmas).  I've seen hedgehogs, chameleons, even kittens up for adoption when I've been in on my visits.I now drive 35 minutes to go to the vet, insanity if you consider that I live next door to a veterinarian office, but I know my fur kids are well taken care of going to dr. Bruce and as long as I'm living in Orlando that's where we will go. *only negative is that due to taking emergencies, and the fact that none of the patients can talk, they sometimes fall behind on appointment times.  But just make sure you go with plenty of time, usually once I get into a room it's only about 15 minutes. My parents and I have been taking our dogs to Dr. Bruce since we moved to Orlando in '94. He's been the vet to our three Schnauzers for 20+ years and was there for the passing away of all three. Now that my boyfriend and I have a dog, we take him to see Dr. Bruce, as well. The staff here are friendly, knowledgeable, and professional, and the vet techs are some of the kindest people you'll ever meet. Dr. Bruce always proceeds with the care and diagnosis of our pets as if they were his family member, and his problem-solving tactics for diagnosing an allergy problem in our border collie/aussie shepherd were thorough and scientific (SOLVED!). Dr Bruce is amazing with my husky Loki. Loki can be pretty hyper and the team is always very kind and friendly towards him. Dr. Bruce and the team are very knowledgeable and always professional. Walk ins are accepted, but it's better to make an appointment. Also, they send reminders for your pets annual appointment and they also follow up with you frequently if you came in with an issue. Our family has been going to Dr. Bruce Bogoslavsky for 20 + years, in which he has cared for all of our animals one way or another. He has done surgery, made them feel better and also has had to put them to sleep. Each experience was different in nature but Dr. Bruce helped us every step of the way with his professional advice, and we know that our animals are in good hands. Although there are a lot of Veterinarians you can choose from, Dr. Bruce will treat your animal as if they were "his" own with his caring and compassionate ways. We used Dr Bruce a few times to trim our parrots wings and nails and beak.  The last time we were there he was in such a foul mood. He was yelling at he assistant in front of us. After he was done grooming our parrot we noticed blood on the side of her mouth because he cut her with the machine. Every time we brought her in we left with her bleeding. We decided that was the last time we would put our beloved bird through this truma. We were recommended to another avian vet and we had the most wonderful experience. Last week we lost Skunk, our Argentinian Tegu due to what we learned was a congenital defect of the liver. My husband had taken him to Dr. Bruce at Animal Veterinary Hospital of Orlando because he was overly lethargic and unfortunately he passed away by the time they got home from the vet. Dr. Bruce did a free necropsy for us to try to find out the cause; he had diagnosed him with calcium deficiency which was not deadly at the level it was at. The results were that he had a defect that he could not absorb calcium because his liver pretty much looked like Swiss Cheese. Read Less

I found Dr. Bruce when my regular veterinarian was unable to see his patients for a while so I had to find a veterinarian that will see reptiles as patients, too. I drive about 35 miles with my pet(s) to see Dr. Bruce and it is worth every single one of them for the wonderful care he gives to my animals. So I had to patiently wait and do everything in my power to keep her alive till I could get her to dr.bruce cause no one else was willing to help and financially emergency vets were not an option. When I was finally able to get her to dr.bruce he gave me 3 options and out of my 3 options none were to put her down. He saw hope in her. And after 3 days of out patient care the option I chose with him putting a solution under her skin she showed signs of happiness again dr.bruce saved my dogs life for WELLLL under 2000 I believe it was under 400. He has helped my animals in so many ways he cares about the animals well beings and I will never take my animals to another vet this man is the best there is and I trust him with their lives.Read Less

I was thrilled to find a vet willing to see my guard dog and he seemed knowledgeable about my concerns. His recommendations we very expensive and included ongoing monthly expenses. Another day we went to this vet with a different dog (we have three), he was in a terrible mood- treated his staff very disrespectfully. To begin our appointment, he entered the room to see my dog and hear why we came in. He started barking test names at the assistant. When he finished his rant - I asked what costs might I expect to diagnose to problem. "Tell me you have $500 to spend on this right now!" he demanded. "I dont." I replied. "Tell me you have $300 to spend," was his next =. "Uh..." I paused- caught off guard by his demanding tone and candor. "You're tying my hands here- I can only treat the symptoms on YOUR budget." ..nothing improved after that point. Haven't been back.Read Less

so evidently, if you are a "normal" pet owner and don't have a raw meat eating pit bull, a batch of guinea pigs with sex organs that are even hard to discern for a vet and you don't plan on skipping town without paying your bill or abiding by the written instructions this place would be a good place to bring your pet. I like how this doctor responds to the bad reviews and it seems that dog and cat owners like the service. Of course you can't make all the people happy all of the time and some people just don't want to be happy and no matter what you do they will complain even when being informed. That's the year 2016. The age of entitlement and no responsibility. I do hope the front desk is polite as they were also mentioned and usually the front is a reflection of the back. So I might give it a try and without having had a bad experience I must give 5 stars as it would be unfair to damage the average score without an actual experience. So we'll possibly see you soon. The staff was so kind and friendly. Wait time was very "ruff" - 3:30 appointment and didn't get seem until almost 4:15, but there were some emergency walk ins so it's understood. Prices are beyond reasonable, and Dr. Bruce is informative. We go back in three weeks for a follow-up, here's to another great time. Read Less

Definitely late on my review, but Dr. Bruce is the best! A few months back he diagnosed my veiled chameleon, Ivory, with metabolic bone disease. Immediately he got her started on a healthy medication regiment and worked with me the next months while she battled MBD. He was always very accommodating and never failed to answer my questions personally- no matter how silly. Him and the entire staff are very knowledgeable and he's great at telling it like it is! After a long battle her progress stopped and her health drastically declined and after passing away, Dr Bruce and his office sent a card with their condolences. That meant the absolute world, it still hangs on my wall. I am so fortunate to have found a vet and staff that is so kind and professional. They have exceeded all expectations! THANK YOU! Read Less

Bruce has been my vet for 25 years and I wouldn't take my animals any where else. I have the greatest respect for him and the staff. I have boarded my dogs for up to 3 wks and no problems. If I could give this place NO stars, I would! The worst vet experience EVER ! The vet (Bruce) is so extremely rude and unprofessional. While I was there, he came out and in front of myself and two other people that were bringing their pets in, started yelling at the front desk girls (Which may I add are the sweetest things ever). I was coming in for a consultation visit and this was my first time coming to this office. Along with other rudeness', the feeling of being rushed, and the vet tech telling me things that just didn't make sense, I decided to leave without even having the consultation. My dogs (I have 3) go to a vet regularly in Hunters Creek and I was coming to this location because after calling around and comparing prices, they had quoted me in the middle of the range of prices I had received for a procedure my dog needed. I will go elsewhere, pay more, BUT I will not have to deal with a rude Dr. and have to sit there and wonder if he's treating my dog poorly while treating him in my absence. Read Less

The staff was very friendly! Because of financial reasons, I brought my rat in for euthanasia long past when it should have been done. I wasn't shamed for it, and that was my greatest fear. Dr. Bruce was warm, understanding, and treated my little rat with the same dignity he would anyone's pet. His price for this service was very low compared to every other hospital I called. AVHO / Dr. Bruce has been the primary vet for our dog for a few years now. The entire staff is always professorial, friendly and caring towards both owners and pets. Our dog recently had surgery to remove a tumor and it was easy and convenient to schedule and deal with both the surgery and follow up appointments. The facility is clean, spacious and in a convenient location at the corner of Oak Ridge and Orange Blossom Trail. They are up front with the cost estimates, and we have never had any surprises when it comes time to pay. We highly recommend Dr. Bruce and his team for any of your pet's needs.Read Less

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE!! Hands down worst vet I've ever experienced. I took my pit to get his ears cropped & we went home with a doberman crop "because he thought it would look better". Dr. Bruce took it upon himself to give my dog a completely different cut then what was discussed & failed to inform me before doing so. Not to mention I told multiple people including Dr. Bruce not to feed my dog hospital food, because I brought his own food since he's on a very strict raw diet, & they did anyway. This is THE MOST incompetent group of people I've ever met. I'm actually impressed by the lack of common sense & the ability to hold a job where animals lives are on the line. I have been bringing my dogs, cats and other pets to Dr. Bruce for over 20 years. He is an amazing vet and on several occasions he has solved health problems that have puzzled other vets we have tried. I live in Osceola County and drive past numerous vets to see Dr. Bruce because I know that he will give my pets the best of care. He has not only treated my dogs and cats, but he treated the lizards, snakes and turtles that I used to own. Dr. Bruce is my go to vet for my reptiles. I currently have 3 adult iguanas (ages 5, 8 and 21) and a young Uromastyx lizard and he has taken great care of all of them. He also treated my 2 dearly departed iguanas when they were still with us. It's hard to believe he's been seeing my oldest since 1999! We've been thru several surgeries over the years and my babies have come thru them well and he always updates me immediately because i'm always a disaster when it comes to sedating them for anything (I'm the one who takes the whole day off work to pace in his lobby waiting...) He's a great source of information whenever I have questions about anything from injuries, to diet, to why isn't she eating now? when it comes to my pets. My cat was due for her annual shots in a few weeks anyway, but had developed a skin irritation overnight which concerned me, so I called to set up an appointment as soon as possible. To my surprise, they were able to get me an appointment later that same day.When I arrived, the support staff were all very nice and efficient, we waited only a few minutes to see the doctor.Unfortunately, Dr. Bruce's manner of speaking to my fiancé and myself was downright disrespectful. I have never been treated so callously by a professional in my life. To be fair, he seems like he knows what he's doing, but no one should be made to feel the way we were when trying to take care of an animal.I was extremely disappointed by Dr. Bruce's outright demeaning manner of treating us. If it were a member of the supporting staff, I could overlook it, but as Dr. Bruce is the only doctor at this establishment, it speaks poorly of the business as a whole.Look elsewhere for veterinary care if you think humans should be treated with respect and care as well. Dr. Bruce is a wonderful vet! I have been bringing my pets to him for over 20 years. Dr. Bruce is a caring and competent vet and is always aware of the latest treatments and medications. He has worked miracles in the past when other vets couldn't cure my pets. I live in Kissimmee, so I drive past numerous other animal hospitals because my animals get the best care from Dr. Bruce and the staff of AVHO. Also, if you have reptiles, Dr. Bruce is the best herp vet. AVHO has very reasonable prices for their services compared to other area animal hospitals. I can't recommend them highly enough. I always passed by corner of O.B.T. and Oakridge and saw the place so we decided to try it out since it was pretty close and we were hoping was inexpensive. I dont have much experience with vets but they dont seem expensive ,meds are meds so some are expensive but needed. I personally loveeeeeeeeeeeeeee them. Only been there twice in the past two days back to back but everyone from front desk, to doctor and his assistants are awesome. They are very nice,friendly, welcoming and loving towards our doggy and very knowledgeable . Also love the fact we could ask all the questions and never felt rushed or like my doc didnt want to answer and just get us out. He was very helpful. My Girlfriend and I brought our sick dog to Dr. ""Bruce""after calling several vetenarians .I was impressed by the secretary's answers and carring attitude. Dr. Bogolasky took the time to explain our options and answered all our questions without making us feel rushed. The Dr. was understanding and knowledgable making us feel assured about our beloved dog. I was very impressed about him and his staff during our time of need. The hospital made it possable for us to make an educated decision and feel secure about it. This vet is good-i have been here numerous times with my pet rats, the vet is well educated on them, which is very hard to find in my area...I dont think he is ever rude, hes just to the point and tells it like it is. This is a relatively inexpensive vet and he is knowledgeable but he tries to add unnecessary services to your bill - I took my cat because she was not eating and he claims it was because of a natural medicine (some kind of oil) that I had applied to her a week previously. He said the cat was close to death and I need to do a series of lab exam and x-ray tests. I decided to go for a second opinion but his assistant said we should at least go with the minimum treatment which I did (an appetite enhancer or something like that). The cat was well in no time but the doctor was very rude saying that I was at fault for using an over -the counter remedy in fact he accused me of being the cause of my cat's death. I am sure he won't do that in writing to ask the company making the oil remedy to pay for the expenses I had (his (the vet's) bill and medicine). Read Less
