Our first time at CTA. I can not speak highly enough about this place and Dr. Minton. We are new to Orlando and have one fur baby. First,  you call to make and appointment and speak to Jason. He is so kind, so patient and friendly while performing his job duties. Answered all my many questions. Upon arrival you see this beautiful location. The office is spotlessly clean and no animal smells. Everyone greeted us with smiles. Jackie, vet tech, took lots of time getting to know us and our fur baby. Such a pleasant lady. Then we met Dr. Minton. She spent ample time with us (I'm certain she figured out we're high maintenance!) and our baby. She gave us very good advice regarding daily dental care. We are so comfortable with her and CTA. Our dog is 11 years old and has been cared for by one vet the entire time. Moving to a new location can be exciting yet stressful. Everyone here is great. Been bringing my dog Mikey here since I got him two years ago, both for vet services and for boarding when I'm out of town. Update to my previous 1 star review. It was a mistake! I was trying to post and answer my phone call at the same time but failed. Oops. Truth be told, we were very pleased with the care and attention my dog received. He got into a fight with a raccoon in our backyard and was pretty mauled and scratched up. Even though it was almost closing hours, the caring front office staff got us in promptly. Dr. Scholl was kind and patient. She even called us back the next day to see how our dog was doing. This place is very family orientated. They really believe in caring for the pet and the pets family. We can in panic one afternoon my dog was looking weak , they saw us immediately and with in 30 minutes they did emergency surgery. I bring my dogs here for everything, everyone in my family does as well. But this time was way different, I went Sunday to the ER vet that refused to help my Toby who was bleeding from his butt so bad it looked like a crime scene little did I know I almost lost my baby boy. He is currently hospitalized and I miss him so much they know what is going on and have treated me even in my crying mess with care and compassion. I can't wait for my baby to come home. My sweet little dog had a neck issue. My vet felt it was a nerve issue and suggested acupuncture. I googled all the vets in my area (there were only 4) the soonest I could get in with any of them was today (3 weeks from the initial issue) I chose this hospital because of how great the reception staff was when I called. My sweet little Boston terrier, Tater Tot, had to be on a lot of meds just to keep her comfortable to make it to this appointment and it was heart breaking. Dr. Gillispie came in and examined  my pet. This Doctor is the most amazing person I have ever met. She felt that treating her could actually make her worse. I didn't want my precious baby to be in any more pain and when I asked for her honest opinion she spoke to me as if I was family. We cried together and made the decision to relieve her pain and send her over the rainbow bridge. This was the worst experience and the best experience of my life. Never meeting anyone form this hospital before and being treated like I had known them forever made this heart breaking decision so much better. Every single staff member was amazing but I have to give my 5 stars mostly to Dr. Gillispie, her empathy and compassion is beyond words and I would highly recommend this animal hospital. They also offer very reasonable prices. Some vets seem to want to test after test just to make the money but this vet did what was best for the pet and that is why I highly recommend them. I found an injured 3 week old kitten in the road, and my vet nor another vet I tried would fit me in to have him treated. I called Chickasaw Trail Animal Hospital, and even though I had never been there before, they told me to bring him right over. They took him straight back and treated him immediately. I just started taking my "little man" to this hospital, and I have to tell you I am impressed!!! The vet he has is Dr. Gillespie.  She is soooo awesome. Sly was put on urinary dry food (the stuff the former vet was giving him, made him sick), he is not thrilled about it (it takes time to get used to it).  I asked her if I could mix it with some canned (urinary) food, but I did not know how much.  This dr. actually called the food company (Hills Science Diet), and got the exact amount of canned food and dry food he should have a day (so he doesn't over eat).  Also I was told if it didn't work out, I could bring it back for another brand (or refund).  Apparently my old vet Curry Ford Animal Hospital never told me that.  They kept pushing the hairball stuff on me, so I finally had him shaved, and he still got sick. So I am now stuck with a big bag of dry cat food that I cannot use (guess I will donate it).  Sly has been on his old food from the old vet for 6 mos., and I thought the getting sick was from hairballs, and here it was the food.  The office staff at Chickasaw is very knowledgeable,  very friendly, and accommodating.  When I called with a question, that was when they called the food company.  Never was I treated this well by a vet's office.  Thank you soooo much Chickasaw Trail Animal Hospital!!!! She can be a bit skittish around new people, and the entire staff took their time with her, working step by step to make sure she felt comfortable. The vet took more time than I'm sure she had to speak with me and calm all my fears before the procedure. Dr. Kenya Howze, her veterinary partners and support staff are among the best group of Medical professionals I've ever come to know. Dr. Howze has been my primary vet for more than 15 years now!! She helped me bring comfort and a long and happy life to my beloved Beeper when he contracted diabetes and cancer in late middle age (and did quite a bit of research to find the best ways to humanely help him). He lived to be 17 or 18 despite those struggles. Dr. Howze worked hard to try and save and revive my second cat, Nat, when he contracted a sudden infection at a young age. And she was there for me when, despite valiant efforts, that battle could not be won. Dr. Howze has cared for my current oldest cat, Scamp, since he and Nat were kittens in 2001 and is currently helping him adjust to a new life with thyroid disease and only one working kidney. I doubt he could be in any better hands. These stories just scratch the surface. I love the care and compassion these people bring to their jobs.Read Less

Staff is always really friendly and knowledgeable. The facility is always clean and has a nice waiting area. Only concern is actual wait time, seems to be roughly 20-30 minutes more than anticipated. Other than that everything about this clinic is great! Read Less

This vet clinic is an answer to my prayers.  I had been taking my precious little Amy (Bichon, poodle, Maltese mix) to Animal Medical Clinic (at 1404 S. Bumby at Curry Ford) for over 5 years with a BADLY INFECTED left ear.  I have spent thousands of $$$ there trying to clean up her infected ear.  I have all the bills and misdiagnosis to prove this.  I took my Amy to Dr. Scholl and she immediately ordered a blood test for allergies to foods.  Amy was allergic to 8 food items.  Even with a restricted diet for about a month, her ear began to improve but was too swollen and too infected for medicine to get down into the ear.  Dr. Scholl operated and kept me informed daily of her progress.  This is a wonderful, conscientious, caring hospital.  I feel so blest to have found it. They are AMAZING! Every member of the staff comes across as genuine kind and truly caring of their furry patients. While in the examination room I took a picture of the sign on the door because of my recent experience at my eye doctor where it took them over two and a half hours to get a five-minute examination done. That made me wish I was treated like my dog is treated here. They truly understand that we are not just bringing them a pet, we are bringing them a beloved member of our family and we are trusting them with their lives. I boarded all three of my large dogs over Memorial Day weekend, and I was really impressed with the staff and boarding process in general. The staff answered every single question I had (I worry a lot) and I was able to bring beds, toys, bones, you name it, to make sure the dogs felt right at home all weekend. I know they were comfortable, and I was confident they were in good hands. The boarding rates were very fair as well, much cheaper than some of the local kennels. Chickasaw Trail Animal Hospital is a very clean facility with staff that is kind and caring. I brought my kitten in a few months ago about a week after I got him from the shelter because he had a nasty upper respiratory infection and an eye infection. I was given medication and sent on my way. The reason I gave this facility 3 stars is this... I have worked with horses cats and dogs for my whole life and I have never experienced a veterinarian who will call you every single month for four months straight because the "prescription" for advantage multi is up!! THEY GAVE ME A TRIAL!!!! Honestly it made Max sick so I decided to go with more natural choices. I saw Dr Minton today(might be spelling that incorrectly) she was excellent with my English Bulldog Tank. She is very knowledgeable and thorough, without being condescending and overbearing. We originally came to Chickasaw Trail Animal Hospital years ago from another practice in the area after becoming frustrated. Dr. Scholl quickly diagnosed our cat with food allergies and got him on a treatment plan to clear it up quickly. We later received a card from Dr. Scholl welcoming us and giving support for the issues we had been going through. Since then, our pet family has grown. We now see Dr. Minton and I can't say enough good things about her. We had a tough year with one of our fur babies and Dr. Minton was always there for us and our pet. She was honest in her recommendations and never gave up- even when science wasn't on our side. We had to make the tough decision of letting our girl cross the rainbow bridge and the compassion and sympathy we received from the entire office was out of this world. I heard some real positive reviews before going here.  Our experience has not lived up to those reviews and expectations.  Our dog continues to suffer because of an early misdiagnosis under their care.  I fully understand that mistakes happen, but I believe there were enough indicators to trap the problem from the beginning.  We are disappointed. I have been using this vet for several years. I first saw Dr. Scholl when my cat was having some bad allergy problems. Dr. Scholl was able to quickly diagnose the issue and we have never had an issue since with his allergies. Fast forward to now when we have two dogs in addition to the cat. We take all of them to Chickasaw Trail Animal Hospital. The staff is always friendly and professional. We normally see Dr. Minton and I can't say enough positive things about her. We have gone through several emergencies with our dogs and Dr. Minton has always made us feel supported and like she really cares about our pets- and even us. Drs. Scholl, Gillispie and Minton are excellent vets. They explain and answer all questions related to diagnosis and treatment. Our pups wake up after surgery quickly and fully recover.  They will call with recommendations regarding new findings but do not proceed with additional treatment without our consent.  Our dogs are not afraid to walk through the clinic doors.  In fact, tails often wag when they see their vet. I was looking for last-minute boarding for my dog and so naturally I turned to Yelp for help. After bad luck with my first choice I called Chickasaw Trails and things immediately made a turn for the better.I was lucky that they had availability for my dog on such short notice. The person I spoke to on the phone was very nice and explained everything really well. Of course I was nervous about leaving my pup at a new place, but the staff seemed really nice and calmed my nerves. My husband handled the drop-off and reported that everything went smoothly. When I picked up our dog he was happy, freshly bathed, and seemed like he had had a good time. Hard to tell, but he was in good spirits. The price came out to exactly what I was quoted on the phone (hooray for no added expenses!). I had opted for a bath and nail trim while he was there and he looked good.So, all in all, I'm very pleased with my experience here. I'm sure this will be my new go-to place for boarding. Read Less

i found a very old, small dog walking in the heat in the middle of the road. lost, overheated and exhausted. for over 1.5 hours i tried to find her home and could not. near tears i took her to the closest vet--the chickasaw trail animal hospital. their kindness and compassion was overwhelming. since i could not bring the dog home they offered to take care of the situation. astounding! they did not know me and were more than willing to help this ancient dog.i am truly amazed at the humanity of this animal hospital and will travel over an hour now to bring my own dog here. these folks are the epitome of caring. i get choked up simply thinking of this. thank you to these fine people. I was beyond nervous about spaying my dog but Vet tech Heather and Dr. Scholl answered all of my questions (as well as other staff members). I was really scared but saw how my Shih Tzu interacted with Dr. Scholl and felt safe leaving her overnight. We've had our dogs here twice for grooming and they always come back happy and well cared for. The staff is nice and friendly and very helpful with questions related to our pets' health even if we're not actually patients there. Whatever grooming supplies they use are top quality, our dogs' coats come back shiny, soft and they smell wonderful for at least a week (as long as they don't roll around outside too much). As many people have told me in the past, and I will pass along to you is, " I'm dumb... but I'm not stupid". Well if you do not take your animal here your both dumb and stupid. My cat was diagnosed with diabetes and Dr. Scholl treated my cat as if it was her own. My cat had to be held over night for close observation due to a respiratory infection and to stabilize his diabetes and this animal hospital not only treated his respiratory infection and stabilized his diabetes but called us everyday he was there to let us know how he was progressing in his treatment. Dr Scholl even gave us her personal cell phone number when he was released so if we had any questions we could call her personally. I can not say enough about Dr.Scholl and her staff... All I could say is Thank You... Our cat is like our child and Dr. Scholl and her staff treated him like he was the president of the United States.
