I've been going to Dr. Phillips Animal Hospital since moving to Orlando 4 years ago. Dr. Qasim is fantastic! He diagnosed cardiac problems in 2 of my 4 dogs that previous vets didn't catch. He referred us out to UF Cardiology for one of my dogs when it was something she needed more specialized care. He's even been available at off hours to help me find a needed medication for my dog. Very good diagnostician and he really cares about your pets! Highly recommend! Read Less

It is with great pleasure that I write this review for the team and of course the Doctor at Dr. Phillips Animal Hospital. First and foremost they are one of the select few vet hospitals open later hours. Being open from 8am - 11pm Monday through Friday and even being open on Saturday and Sunday makes me feel comfortable making them my "go-to" vet. Just knowing no matter what day of they week my fur babies have an issue, I know Dr. Qasim will handle my problems with ease. Everytime I enter the hospital you can tell everyone there loves what they are doing because you're always greeted by name and with a smile. Once in a room the vet techs always come in and listen to my concerns, the doctor comes in promptly after and always performs a thorough examination of my pets. Regardless the issue of my fur babies or my financial restrictions at the time, Dr. Qasim ALWAYS gives me options to both help me stay in budget while still being able to treat my pet (which I LOVE). Knowing he cares so much about his clients and the patients he sees makes me so much more comfortable and confident with using him as my pets doctor. As the visits may not always be "speedy" like some reviews state, unfortunately you just can't rush certain things. With the amount of questions I have during my consultation with him and the amount of time he spends making sure I'm fully aware of all the procedures being done on my pet and explaining all the medications I'll need to go home and how to properly use them, its definitely worth the wait! The best part is, the lovely girls up front ALWAYS call me the next day to check in on my pets after their visit, even if I just went in for vaccinations. It really makes you know just how caring the doctor and his staff are. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Phillips Animal Hospital! Read Less

Well some people do it for love, some do it for money. By my rating you know what is my opinion about this place! Brought my pet with a hurt paw 15 min before they close. Guess what, take your pet somewhere else, we close in 15 min. They didn't even take a look at her paw, ignoring her pain and our agony. As you can see it's more important to go home on time, than taking care of the poor animal.if this is the kind of people you would trust your pet to, go ahead! I truly believe the first thing that makes a good vet is love and care. This one couldn't care less! Read Less

I have some mixed reviews for this vet. I'm glad my dog is ok, but I feel played for money. My doggy was not feeling well. I took her to the animal hospital on Sunday. They gave me a sales sheet without even looking at the dog offering a 450.00 dollar plan. I declined it. Then they offered me a series of test for 300.00 dollars. I declined everything except a fecal. The dogs fecal came back negative but she had issues with her bowels and stomach. They gave me some antibiotics and I went home. I paid 140 for the visit and the fecal exam. The next day my dog was vomiting and lethargic. Possibly from the meds. I took her back. I paid the difference and signed up with the plan. The plan offers a complete exam and blood work. Then at the end of the visit I paid for 2 more exams that were not apart of the plan because they said it could be her pancreas. Basically, I spent about 700 dollars in two days. At the end of all this. All of the test were negative. The dog is in good health. They offered an X-ray that cost 300 dollars and I could pay for additional testing to find out the issue. I declined. I still don't know what was wrong with the dog. She stayed the night at the animal hospital. They gave her meds and special dog food. A few days later she was fine again. Personally, I think they could have relieved my mind that my dog was fine instead of selling a package plan. I know one thing for sure. I'm going to make sure I take advantage of everything on this plan for the next year. Read Less

Called to schedule daycare for my dog, the girl on the phone was VERY rude. I asked if I could send them my dog's records so they could tell me if he was missing anything that they required me to have, her answer was that they will check my dog once I dropped him and if he was missing anything, they'll go ahead and do it (which I didn't want to) I went ahead and explain her again that I want it to get it done before with my Vet of choice. Her answer was "that's not how we do it here"In no place they'll do anything to your dog without your consent, I don't think is the policy of the vet- just a misinform employee. Unfortunately, an employee can make an impression that affects a business. Thankfully I called back and spoke with a girl name Paula, she was very nice and polite and explained me that they are a bit more strict than a regular daycare because they are a hospital but that they wouldn't do anything to my dog without my consent. I just don't feel comfortable dropping my dog because not all employees are in the same page Read Less

I have never been so angry at a vet in my life. I drove an hour and a half for a 4pm appointment because my cat woke up with what turned out to be a fever of 104 and I was extremely concerned. I arrived at 4pm sharp, yet I was kept waiting in the lobby for 25 minutes. I have a cat, and while they may love their cats that wander around the vet clinic, my cat didn't love the environment of loose cats and dogs that were just a little bit too interested in him. The very least they could have done was put us in a room so my cat wouldn't get so agitated. After 25 minutes of sitting in the lobby, we were finally taken to a room, where we waited another 15 minutes for the vet to come in... my cat was wound up and on edge. He's a year old, he's an adventure cat, he thinks he's a dog, I take him on hikes, he has a cat-pack that he loves, we've gone tent-camping, and he freaking plays fetch. My cat is great. I bring him into the vet on a harness and leash, because he's fantastic. However, being in the stressful environment of the lobby (and I'm sure that having a fever of 104 didn't help at all either), definitely put him more on edge than he's ever been before, and that's saying a lot, because my cat's been in a LOT of different environments. When the vet eventually comes in, he asks me to put Casper up on the table. I thought this was strange, because usually this is when a vet would be attempting to get to know my cat... leaning down... saying hello.... maybe even, you know, petting him.... The vet acted like he didn't even want to touch my cat. I put my cat up on the table, and he was ok for a minute, but then he got really agitated. The vet was still not doing anything, and he even had the nerve to say "Well what do you want me to do, get bit?" And treated my cat like an aggressive beast, with no compassion and no desire to solve whatever was the matter with him. He said the only way he would examine my cat was if he was sedated, then he came back five minute later and said just kidding, we close in two hours and that would take too long (which isn't even true, but at this point I didn't want him examining my cat, so it was fine). The one nice thing he did do was help me wrap Casper up in a blanket to get him out of the clinic into the car, because my cat was so agitated he wouldn't walk and if I had tried to pick him up with my bare hands he would have scratched the heck out of me. He referred us to an emergency clinic, and he said he would call ahead to let them know we were on our way, but he must have done some real bad-mouthing about me and my cat, because when I got to the clinic they acted like he was a vicious attack-cat, which he isn't... Casper was totally fine at the next vet because the environment was totally fine. THIS VET IS NOT CAT FRIENDLY. I ADVISE LOOKING FOR A CAT-VET ELSEWHERE. Maybe for one who will even touch your cat...

Read Less

I had a cat that was in extremely bad shape. she was not eating, she had infections and i had very little money. i had less than $200 and was quoted above that.
