East Orlando Animal Hospital

Orlando, Florida
General Info
East Orlando Animal Hospital in Orlando designs every aspect of the visit from exam room setup to patient check-ins with deliberate intention to guide pet wellness at a pace suitable for Florida homes. Initial visits typically start in minimal-distraction spaces where pets can either investigate their surroundings or become comfortable. Staff members maintain vigilant observation to detect specific indicators such as tail position pawing behavior and sound reactivity. In physical examinations veterinarians assess coat condition alongside pulse rate and hydration levels while checking jaw symmetry and gait patterns as well as the pet's response to close contact. Every minute aspect receives attention particularly when dealing with animals unfamiliar with medical settings or those with past trauma or handling resistance. East Orlando Animal Hospital delivers diagnostic services alongside surgery planning and wellness exams while offering mobility tracking and parasite prevention with breed-informed wellness forecasting. The progression of care plans depends on each pet's response to physical contact as well as adjustments in routine and environmental clinic signals including lighting conditions and room transitions along with sound levels. This technique proves particularly beneficial for pet-owning families whose members either show reluctance in social gatherings or excel through repetitive activities. Each household’s schedule and pet’s natural rhythm dictate the design of follow-up sessions. Pet owners obtain detailed explanations with step-by-step reasoning for each decision which transforms them from passive observers into active participants in their pet's care process. East Orlando Animal Hospital presents a structured care approach for pet owners across Orlando and surrounding Florida regions which emphasizes attentive interaction and familiar patterns to create smoother calmer veterinary visits.

5 stars for Dr Peters. She helped me when my beloved parrot was diagnosed with cancer and was there every step of the way until she was peacefully put to sleep. She and her staff handled everything exactly as they should have - professional but personal at the same time. This is a pretty good vet clinic. The staff obviously love animals and enjoy their jobs. I took my pup here for the first couple months before changing to a vet that is closer to me (it was an hour drive each way). There is nothing horrible that happened, but also nothing that was crazy amazing. They took good care of my pup through her spaying procedures. My only qualm was that they didn't explain to me how I should be caring for my pup after her procedure. I really enjoy knowing exactly what things to look for and knowing what I should allow her/not allow my pup to do. All in all, the care was good, but a little light on the human-interactions! I can't say enough! My oldest is a 16 year old Corgi that requires alot of attention during her waking hours and to find boarding has been an almost insurmountable challenge, until we came here. The staff is outstanding! The facility is very nice, oh did I say the staff is outstanding? My pup was in a nice double in which they had to retro fit a water dish to the door to prevent spills. When I picked my pup up, she was nice and fresh with a pedicure. We have NEVER returned from vet boarding with no apparent malaise from the boarding. My girl was happy and healthy, no coughing, no malaise! This has been a most pleasant experience as boarding goes and we will not hesitate to board again with East Orlando Animal Hospital. This facility has given us the freedom to travel a bit more without the anxiety that boarding has traditional entailed. Thanks! Read Less

East Orlando Animal Hospital (EOAH) is OUTSTANDING.  They have excellent staff who are always pleased to see me and my dog (most times my dog more than me but I am okay with that).  From the beginning, they even remembered my dog by name.  They help explain to you all that is necessary to keep your dog healthy (vaccines, shots, fecal exams, food recommendations. Etc) and they have an excellent tracking system.  Via email, I get a reminder when my dog is coming up on a shot due date.  They have very affordable boarding if you are leaving on vacation and will even give your dog play time and toys while they are there.  With that being said, they are WAY much more than just an animal hospital.  They offer various training classes for your dog to include basic puppy manners, advanced tricks classes, agility classes, and even swimming classes.  They are well worth it, taught by a very knowledgeable, and funny, instructor named Kim.  If you sign up for these classes, they even throw in some free puppy day care!  If you are getting a new pet, or have one already, and want an all in one place (training, boarding, vets, play) EOAH is the place to be.   Definitely a 5 star. There are things that I do like about this establishment and others that could certainly be improved upon. Their veterinary staff is very knowledgeable, and they've been caring for my dog medically ever since he was a puppy. Dr. Peters is the best vet I've found, as she really cares about the well-being of the pets she treats. She's also very thorough with follow-up calls and appointments, making sure your pet's recovery is going in the right direction. Truthfully, she's the sole reason why I continue to take my dog to this specific clinic. If she wasn't there, we would simply choose another vet closer to home. And when she isn't available and we need to see a vet, that's exactly what we do. I do NOT recommend boarding your pet at this clinic unless they're recovering from a surgery that requires them to stay overnight. For ordinary, going out of town boarding, it's not sufficient. They are first and foremost a clinic. That means your healthy pet there for boarding might not be getting the attention they require. I can say that they did have a in-depth conversation with me about my dog as I dropped him off. They were good about sticking to the feeding specifications for him. Although they claim that they let the dogs outside, but don't do it nearly enough. If I can hear my dog howling from the front counter while he's all the way in the back kennels, that's a problem. He's a quiet dog most of the time, and only howls when something isn't right. When my dog is returned to me, and nearly has an accident on the floor because you've not let him outside, that's a problem. On top of all that, my dog experienced eye irritation while in their care that required medication. There was greenish build-up in his tear ducts. The dog was boarded at a veterinary clinic. The dog should be healthy. How did the dog get sick at a place that treats sick animals? It turned out alright in the end. I already had the necessary medicine to treat my dog's eye. So crisis averted. I'd like to note that it was Dr. Peters who recommended the medication specifically for the pup because she knows and treats him. So even when she doesn't even know it, she's helping her clients. Boom. So yes, medically, they're good. The grooming they do there is good. (In depth discussions about what kind of groom your pet needs before the process happens. Always deliver on specifications)The training classes are meh. (Puppy training is at least helpful. Socialize that puppy. Do it!)Boarding is a no for me. Read Less

I would never bring my animals to another vet. All the doctors here have a heart of gold and love animals. They always know what's wrong with my pet when I go there. What are my pets used to get ear infections because she was allergic to the food I was giving her. Now my boy dog had an ear infection and I brought him there and they checked him out and put this stuff in his ear. It does wonders. No other vet has this and it kills all ear infections. No need for antibiotics or steroids or anything. The staff also there is very very nice. All my dogs are overweight and Doctor Yantori gave me a feeding schedule for them of how much I should feed them and when. Hopefully they lose weight now. Don't you want the best care for the ones you love ?  Go to EOH they are the best. They also offer boarding training doggie daycare etc. Don't waste your time and money someplace else. Read Less

I made my appointment for 10am and I arrived at 9.45 to allow time for paperwork out of courtesy. When I arrived I was told by the front desk receptionist that she made my appointment for the wrong day but the doctor would see me in 10-15 minutes, which I agreed to. At 10.30 I asked the same receptionist how much longer because now I've been here 45 minutes and she told me she would check. I explained to her that I had a call at 11.15 and I had to be back to the office prior to. It wasn't until this point did she then tell me the doctor couldn't see me and do her examination in time. I wasted $10.00 in tolls, 2 hours from work and I did not get the care for my turtle. The receptionist had a flippant attitude and at no point apologized for her error. I have no tolerance for people who waste my time, lie or stretch the truth instead of apologizing for their error. I believe this office should refund my toll money because I will definitely not be going back there. Complete incompetency and does not reflect well of this location. Read Less

Facility is clean, nurses and receptionists are friendly, wait times are not too long.I found Dr. Tiao to be condescending and she provides too much unnecessary and repetitive information. For instance, we brought in an adult cat because he stopped eating and drinking, which is worrisome for any pet owner. We had just gotten a new kitten a few weeks prior, so yes, we were aware that the stress could have caused this behavior, but she went on to lecture us about how to properly introduce the old and new cats, which we had already done, properly, weeks prior. I will commend her for consistently following up via phone. After our first visit, she called every day to check up on his condition and make suggestions for his care. Our cat had gotten subcutaneous fluids (bubble under the fur to help combat dehydration when he isn't drinking water) and we asked the nurse *what* the fluids were and she just answered, "Fluids," so we were not satisfied with that response. But we chose to continue bringing our George here because it was so obvious that all the staff really cared about him. George attends doggy daycare four times a week, and he is always so eager to go inside when we arrive. The moment we walk in the door we are instantly greeted with "George!!!," which sends his tail into hyper drive! Our doctor, Dr. Peters is so friendly, and so knowledgeable. As are the vet techs. I've only been there twice the first time my friend took me there since Banfield was not able to figure out what was going on with my dog after 2 visits to them ( Banfield ) and believe it or not these guys were the only ones that figured it out in 1 visit , it was doggy acne and they got her on the right medication and it went away. yesterday 2/2/2017 I came to east orlando vet hospital for a second time but in a state of emergency panick because after going to an emergency vet closer to my home on the night before 2/1/2017 and then not knowing what the hell was going on with my lab, I went to east orlando, they took us right in and right away they felt something in her belly ( which by the way the 1st place stated they felt nothing ) not only did East make me feel like my baby was in great hands they were they ONLY VET to bring me ligature and talk to me about CARE CREDIT ( never heard of it ) my baby was able to get the emergency surgery she needed yesterday and got her spleen taken out and followed up with me in which it was the ACTUAL DR talking to me! Then this morning 2/3/2017 they called and gave me a very Thurrell report of how she was doing! These guys are worth the travel! Love them all the way to the front desk! The doctors and staff at East Orlando Animal Hospital are some of the most kind, helpful, and compassionate people I've had the pleasure of meeting in the veterinary community. Recently, we've been seeing Dr. Peters for our rat, Cecil, as he went through a series of unfortunate ailments which led to us having to put him down yesterday. As heartbroken as I am to have lost my little furry baby, I want to sing the praises of everyone at this hospital. Dr. Peters and all the technicians helped us tremendously through this tough time, with dutiful professionalism and compassion. We were made to feel heard and cared for. I've never had a doubt for Dr. Peters ability to care for all of our animals. Even faced with some awful circumstances, she never lost faith in him and always wanted to offer us the best care we could give to him. When the time came to say goodbye she was right there with us, and she works so hard every day to bring this level of care to all of her patients. Thank you so much EOAH! Read Less

Where do I even begin? Let's start with their prices, so very high and not worth the money. Now money isn't a issue but I want great service and everything for the money I pay. This place is a rip off!!! Got a new puppy and took him in for some shots a couple days ago and he was happy when I took him in but when they gave him back he was lethargic and in pain. Now I've done this line of work in the past and the lethargy is normal but not the pain and certainly not the swollen arm my puppy had. I mean what the hell did these idiots do? So I called and took him back to vet (mind you spent already a good $200 bucks for shots that should really be less than $100) just for them to tell me that "maybe he had a reaction " to the shots.... now there are 2 things that pissed me the f#$k off. Number 1 was these geniuses already gave my puppy shots before... they gave the OKAY and shots the day i adopted him from Petland in waterford (another side note these guys suck so bad that the adoption agency is no longer doing business with these idiots because of customer complaints and how crappy they are). So back to my experience ....So they should know if he has allergies right????? And Number 2 was these snakes charged $65.00 to give him steroids which i know helps with the inflammation but im thinking to myself why am i paying for their incompetence?? I tryed to have a dialog with the kennel attendant but she was rude and very pushy to the point that she didnt let me explain properly. But thats how this place is, they get you in and take all your money and push you out. This place is horrible and I wont rest until I spread the word of this hellhole on lake underhill to everyone I know and then some to NOT go there. They make your pets worse and even if you pay them, they still F $#ck it up so you come back and spend more. All I can say is if my puppy doesnt get better then im coming back but with my lawyers. My family and I went to this vet for close to 7 years. We absolutely loved the doctors and all of the staff here. They were the best and absolutely adored our four fur-babies. We love our animals and were willing to spend the extra money to ensure top quality care. We originally had Dr. Manly for our vet and absolutely adored her. She unfortunately moved back to Michigan but we still continued to stay there. Well something changed as soon as she left. The care provided was no longer top notch and my family and I felt that our dogs were just viewed as money bags. The vet that took over care for our dogs didn't really seem like she even knew what she was talking about and didn't even know much about pomeranians (two out of the four we have are poms). What I also didn't like was when they did the exam and vaccinations, they did it behind closed doors in the back. I found that to be weird. I, for one, want to see what the vets and vet techs are doing to our dogs. Our 15 year old bichon frise, Scooby, suffered an ulcer to the eye and while we had it under control with eye drops...when we dropped him off for boarding, he was fine. When we picked him up, his eye had completely perforated and he needed immediate emergency surgery and the eye ended up being unable to save. We went to a specialist for that. We called them and explained what was going on and they refused to admit anything was wrong or that it happened in their care. We understand mistakes happen and caring for a lot of dogs is a big undertaking. We understand that you can't keep watch over our dogs every minute they are there but at least have the decency to admit your faults. Since they didn't admit their faults and we're costing us a boatload of money, my family and I had had enough and we have sinced moved to a different vet office with incredibly reasonable prices and boarding facility where we are much, much happier and our dogs don't come back to us sick or injured when we pick then up. This morning my 77lbs dog experienced a severe allergic reaction! I called the Animal Hospital told them about this severe reaction and they instantly ask me to come now and that they would be waiting for me and my dog with a stretcher if needed. When I got there they attended my dog immediately and observe his reaction. They gave him steroids and Benadryl IV. The doctor and staff insured me that he would be ok and I was back on my way home within 45 minutes! I'm VERY grateful for this staff and for God leading towards this location that I've never visited. THANK YOU ALL BUNCHES! Read Less

I love how all of the staff greet my pup by her name when we walk in, love how friendly and caring they seem to be, love how happy and exhausted my pup comes home from daycare, love how clean and smell-free the facility is. This is the hospital contracted with Petland Waterford Lakes - one of the vets cleared the puppy I bought in good health and ready for sale. Funny thing is that within two days of purchase we took them to that vet for our free first visit and she hospitalized our dog. She said he had sever pnuemonia and 95% of his lungs were filled. Well then Dr, why was he cleared as healthy just 4 days earlier by you. All she kept saying as I asked more questions was "don't worry, this isn't costing you a dime - so just let him stay here and get better" He gets released and when I go back for the followup - they try charging me over $200.00 and conveniently the vet that said I wouldn't have to pay for anything was not there. I have been debating on writing this review for months. I have used used this facility for years and the more I have dealt with them the more I am worried to bring my dog back. When we began at this facility we were assigned a doctor that was supposed to see our dog every time. We never saw that vet again nor have we ever seen the same vet twice. Lets not forget that they are 2-3 times the price of other nearby vets. We have used their boarding facilities as well. At first they would show you the run and let you bring toys for your pets stay. Now there are no toys allowed and you aren't allowed to accompany your pet to see where they will be staying. Not to mention that my dog has gotten sick immediately after a stay with them or injured while at the stay nearly every time. I'm sure the people here mean well but when it comes to peoples pets if you cant do it right you shouldn't do it at all Read Less

If I knew another place to go close by, I would go there instead. Because sometimes this place is more convenient, I go here (they're close, have my card on file and fit my animals in based on the outrageous amounts of money we've spent here). Kim, one of the staff - amazing. I love her, I adore her and I think she's great. She is someone I'd want working for my company. Same can be said for a few others that work there and Dr. Manly. I trust them for anything having to do with my cat - easy peasy. I've brought a lot of my parrots here and I do appreciate the research they try to do but I recommend Dr. Diaz instead. He actually knows what he is doing and talking about when it comes to birds. Too many bad stories with my birds unless they're merely boarding them with strict instructions on how to care for them (this is when I appreciate people like Kim who spend time with the animals). I recently brought my new puppy in and was super disappointed. The girl that helped us check him in for boarding and puppy day care was snooty and rude. The "trainer" that came in to take him back to see how he got on, pushed down on his hips (we're talking a 6 month old german shepherd) while telling him to his back to "sit". I stopped her immediately and explained how I prefer she not ever push on his hips since large dogs get hip displasia - something I would hope they would already know. I told her he knows to sit on cue when asked and showed the cue and him sit. He is also leash trained to put his head through the leash, trained to leave it, stay, go to his bed, among a ton of other things which she didn't bother to ask about and took him out of the room never to return. I was really horrified about it and had to tell myself that his play time with other dogs would keep him happy enough. I pick him up tomorrow so we will see, but the whole visit isn't cheap - it never is with them. I think better care at better prices can be found in this area for sure. I've been with them long enough to know to start looking for a new dog vet - it just sucks to have to go to multiple places when you have all different animals.Edit: I just got my dog back from daycare and his left eye was SUPER poofy, red, and not just watery... pussy. I wiped it off in the car and watched him for a minute and it immediately sprayed gooky stuff out again! His eye looked foggy and rolled back and all I saw was white and red. I freaked out and grabbed my husband and told him we needed to rush our dog back in to see what was wrong with his eye. They asked us (after retrieving our dog literally a minute ago) what our name was and if we'd ever been there before... WHAT?! You just gave us our frickin' dog, you idiot. Apparently they send ALL their vets out on lunch break at the same time so that there is absolutely no one around to help during lunch hours. Good thinking. I overheard the receptionist on the line with a bird owner who needed an avian vet ASAP and she wouldn't even refer anyone to the person so I butted in and offered the referral of Dr. Diaz who is local, and another vet on Colonial but she barely passed on the info to what sounded like a complete emergency. There is also Dr. Lightfoot in Tampa, FL but she didn't bother to pass that on. Animals best interest in mind? I think NOT. Anyway, the vet came back to see our dog and said they must have gotten shampoo in his eye and that usually it would burn it but it hadn't caused that apparently and should clear up in 2-3 days. He gave us free meds we have to put in his eye every day and a free check up to see how it's doing in a few days. Way to live up to making the mistake in the first place, how could you give my dog back to me and either not notice or not point it out to me? This was the last straw for me. I will NEVER come back here again with ANY of my animals. EVER. If you care about yours, you won't either. I will be trying out Happy Paws for my next dog daycare and boarding needs. And by the way, the shampoo in the eye (what do they use, acid?!) did not go away in 2-3 days... it turned into a respiratory infection from the meds draining down into his mouth and he was keeping us up all night sounding like he couldn't breathe and licking and hacking. The vet had the nerve to tell us it is 'obviously unrelated to the eye infection'. Right. Because DOG SHAMPOO CAN DO ALL THIS, RIGHT? Liars. Cheaters. Scammers. Don't trust this place. Bring in healthy animals and leave with more problems them you could have imagined. Is that how they earn their business? Read Less

We are financially able and willing to board our two small dogs at EOHA. It's close by, it's clean and the staff were friendly- this seen during our recent tour. (It was also amazingly not busy for a Saturday afternoon.) But- $20.00/per dog for a bath? for what we can and always have done at home after boarding them (elsewhere). On top of the $23.00/dog/night kennel run fee? And extra to let them go play outside? No thanks. EOHA should reivew it's policy. A place that isn't hard up for money would make the pre pick up bath an option. I've never heard of 'mandatory bath'. Also you can pay more for a 'theme' kennel. Dogs do not see artwork on the walls. They don't care. EHOA is trying to compete with the doggie hotels who cater to the well heeled status quo seeking gullable. My guess is EOHA is hard up for money... $20.00 for a bath? I am a long time client of EOAH and Dr. Glenn. He has treated my cats since way back in 1990 or so. I can't say enough about his professionalism and knowledge, but it is his true caring and compassion about the animals he treats that makes him stand out from other vets. There can be lots of technically good vets out there but I personally have gotten calls from him while he is on vacation checking on a stubborn kittly who wouldnt eat when she had a cold, one who decided to eat tinsel and most recently one who needed surgery to repair an abdominal surgery done by another vet ( an emergency). We also had to put our first kitty to sleep and he and the staff were more caring than we could have imagined. I can't believe there are anything but excellent review for this team. Yes, treating animals is costly, but if you can't afford to take good care of them then you shouldn't have them in the first place. I would recommend this practice to everyone!!!! Read Less

When my dog was misdiagnosed repeatedly by another vet over the course of 6 months, I eventually brought him to Dr. Glenn at East Orlando Animal Hospital. With no exaggeration, it took Dr. Glenn 5 minutes to diagnose the issue. My dog required surgery and I was presented with a detailed list of the charges involved, with each item fully explained. Once my dog was admitted, there were some additional tests the Dr. felt were necessary (I agreed) and I was called first before the tests were performed. For me, my dog is like my child and I expect a vet to be every bit as good as a pediatrician would be. The Dr's and staff at East Orlando were wonderful, both with me and my dog (I was emotional about the surgery, the staff was very comforting and reassuring). What really impressed me was the fact that the follow up exams after the surgery were at no charge. I also received two follow up calls (from the Dr) in the three weeks after surgery to see how we was doing. Also, my dog had another issue (unrelated to the surgery) that Dr. Glenn felt was outside his area of expertise. Rather than try and BS his way into running up additional charges (I've had vets do that in the past), he referred me to a specialist that he trusted. I was impressed that after the initial consultation with a neurologist, that Dr. Glenn called me to review the neurologists findings and to see if I had any questions he could answer. I consider that not only professional, but very decent as well. In my opinion, these are competent professionals who genuinely care for their patients. I can highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good vet in the Orlando area. Read Less

This office treated my pets and my family very badly with no regard for their care. They are rip off artists with over exorbitant prices for substandard care not to mention that they give a ?bandage on a bullet wound? approach to care at a costly rate and then tell you to come back to pay for even more costly revisits and extended tests which are unnecessary and harmful to the animals just to help fill their pockets, while all the while, having no regard for the helpless animals in their care or the owners they take advantage of. My new vet was able to treat my dogs for less than East Orlando animal hospital who charged $256.60 plus $600 of recommended extended care and tests, that our dogs would have NEVER gotten better from and then wanted another $200 for flea and tick preventative for a total of over $1,000 to help fix a digestive problem that got worse with their misdiagnosis and almost caused my dogs to DIE from a bad reaction and incorrect prescription!! To hear my vet say that none of that prescribed thousand dollar quote of treatment that this hospital reccommended would have worked and to have my dogs get better with our new vet for a $150.00 bill is unbelievable to me!!!!!! This hospital is a rip off!!! They do not care for you, your pet, or your business!!!! Do not be fooled into trusting them with your closest little furry family members because they are callused, crude, rip off artists who only care about dollar signs and getting as much out of you as they can without really helping your pets. My dogs almost died as a result of their uneducated, unprofessional, heartless, ignorant staff of vets and office staff. East Orlando Animal Hospital

Orlando, Florida
(62)
7600 Lake Underhill Rd
Orlando Florida 32822

The moment we walk in the door we are instantly greeted with "George!!!," which sends his tail into hyper drive! Our doctor, Dr. Peters is so friendly, and so knowledgeable. As are the vet techs.

After a year of rescue, being a well and happy turtle, she got really sick swollen eyes and RI i feel so guilty for waiting too long to treat her so if you have a sick reptile pls dnt wait too long to bring them here. They were so amazing that they gave me my only option i really had at this moment and will be sending our Turdy to a Turtle rescue center as we can no longer care for her. I love how all of the staff greet my pup by her name when we walk in, love how friendly and caring they seem to be, love how happy and exhausted my pup comes home from daycare, love how clean and smell-free the facility is. Dr. Tao is patient and takes her time to explain things. Prices are steep at times.. The first-year insurance they offer is a pretty good deal. There are several not-so-good reviews on the net about this place, but I have only had great experiences. Only complaint... Wish they'd post a video up of Lillian playing! I am seriously reconsidering even going back to the puppy training classes. Read Less

You gotta be kidding. For that, I'm sad we won't be taking our two dogs there. Read Less

They misdiagnosed both my dogs after charging ridiculous fees including an emergency room fee when there was no one waiting in the hospital to see the vet. Now I know exactly why this office was so empty to start with. PROTECT YOUR PET AND YOURSELVES AND DO NOT USE THIS HOSPITAL FOR YOUR PET'S CARE!!!!!! Read Less
