I’ve only been taking my cat to this office for a short time, but after many years of dealing with vets I can tell you this is the best one I’ve ever taken an animal to. Highly recommended. Everyone in the office is super nice, the vet takes his time and explains things well, he leaves the final decision with the owner and doesn’t try to push things on you. I called with a question and within a couple hours, he was already returning my call. I can’t think of a single bad thing about this office! Read Less

Have taken our new Yorkie puppy their since birth...now nine months. Love these guys. They perform excellent work. They have good demeanor with both us and our dog. Got him neutered there at 5-months. Yes, you can pay less for these services elsewhere, but I wanted the personalized service the knowledge that everything is totally sterilized, and the dog was well cared for pre-op, during surgery and post-op. I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Robert Taeubel. Both he and his assistant Guillermo form an excellent team. My puppy was with arthritis pain, ear infection and skin infection. With in 10 days my puppy was fine. I am very happy and I highly recommend them. Read Less

Amazing office staff, gentle techs, and a personable and educated vet make Eastwood Animal Hospital my go-to for my pup. All vet practices are going to hit your pocketbook hard (this practice included) but the service and their listening ears cannot be beat. It's a small business that puts your sweet pet(s) first. We've been taking our pets here for many years. Dr. Taeubel for many years. His skills as a veterinarian are top-notch, and they are matched by his caring and compassion. The staff also rises to the same level of excellence. Everyone is professional, friendly and though it's often an overused description, they do treat you as family. The office is spotless and modern, and they are very proactive in addressing health and wellness. We've used the services of many different veterinarians in many states over the the years. Dr. T, his assistant Guillermo and Zoe are just amazing. We had to say goodbye to our 10 year old golden this morning, Molly. It was so hard and we are having such a hard time. I've visited this location for random reasons, on several occasions, since it's on the way to where I live and due to experiencing difficulties reaching somebody through the phone. (5 out of 6 times that I have called, I get a machine). However, I've visited to find out about boarding services (they used to provide them and not anymore), vaccine prices and to buy my cat's UTI prevention prescribed food when Petsmart is out of stock. Staff is always very amicable and willing to help. The time I went to  check if they provided boarding, they went out of their way to call local vets and pet caretakers in order to provide me with a referral list. I thought that was awesome!  I can't review their services with my cats, but I can talk about their customer service and is definitely deserving of a good review. Read Less

For over 8 years I have been coming to this vet for my Siberan Husky. We started going here because it was close to home but even after we moved away to the other side of town we still wanted to come back to this location because of how friendly and helpful the staff was in addition to how knowledgeable they are in everything they do. I'm updating this review now as my husky has now passed, a huge thank you goes out to the staff here at Eastwood Animal Hospital for everything they've done over the years even on the last day. I've been taking my cats here for over 2 years and just recently my new dog. I love this place, unlike other vet clinics that stack appointments on top of each other they spread them throughout the day. Which makes coming in with my two very anxious cats a lot easier and less stressful for them (and me). The room is always ready for me when I come in, which means no waiting in the lobby. The vet techs and doctor are friendly and before the start of the appointment they explain the costs, which means no surprise bill at the end. I can't recommend this place enough. Read Less

I love Eastwood Animal Hospital. They were my second opinion on both of my dogs and they were able to diagnose quickly and treat effectively. We recently lost both of our elderly pups within two months of each other and the staff was so supportive and was there every step with loving tears. Dr. T is very thorough and up front. Brought our new pup there after only having adopted her 3 days prior. The staff was so kind and helpful, everyone we encountered was just so delightful and sweet. . They answered all the questions we had regarding our new addition. They went over all of her records with us, treated her for the issue we brought her in for, and did an overall check up to see how she was. I just moved here and was looking for a new vet to take my two cats. I took my first one in, age ten, for just a check up and vaccinations. I was there for over an hour and not one other person came in with their pet. Was strange to begin with. They took my cat to the back to do everything and I could hear her screaming from the office. She is never very happy at the vet but I never have heard her sound like that. I was shaking when they brought her back and I will not be taking my second cat. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.Read Less

Dr. T has saved our 14 year old dog's life 3 times.     The usual medication for Cushing's disease did not work and gave our dog hallucinations.  We thought we were going to have to put him to sleep.  Dr. T suggested trying Chinese herbs [he is certified].  These worked and our baby is doing great, even playing with toys again.      Our elderly dog can not survive general anesthesia, so Dr. T has surgically removed abscesses on two separate occasions administering just locals.      AND his rates are reasonable.  Dr. T tells you when a biopsy is a waste of money.  One time my dog's skin got caught in a harness clip.  Dr. T waited AFTER hours for us  to arrive, undid the clip and did not charge us anything.        All of the vet techs do not just restrain your pet while the dr. is working, they cuddle and comfort your pet by talking to him, stroking him, etc.       We are moving to Ormond Beach, FL, but will drive 1 1/2 hours each way to bring our elderly dog back to Dr. T.  I do not trust anyone else with our baby. Dr. Taubel has been so wonderful with my Black Russian Terrier, Val, and he has really helped me through a tough first week with Val! Now, Val is improving immensely thanks to Dr. Taubel, Guillermo and the whole staff at Eastwood Animal Hospital! I've been a client for many years, and there is no animal hosp that compares to Dr. Taubel's. He is insightful, knowledgable, and trustworthy. I would never, ever go back to Eastwood Animal Hospital. Two weeks ago, I brought my very sick cat to Eastwood Animal Hospital. He had been vomiting and not eating for 48 hours. He is a young cat and has a tendency to get into the trash, so I figured he might have ingested something he shouldn't have and it caused a blockage. I am new to the area, so this was my first experience with Eastwood. I should have known that there would be a problem when I walked in to a completely empty lobby. I was put into a room and a vet tech took a brief history on my cat. I worked for a vet for many years when I was in college a couple of years ago, so I am pretty well versed on animal medicine. When the vet came in, he was cold and unfriendly. He told me that he wanted to do bloodwork and x-rays, which seemed totally reasonable to me. Then he brought me an estimate... of $906! This was a completely absurd price to me. I was afraid to walk out at this point, as I knew I would already have to pay the $50 examination fee for just coming in. I agreed to x-rays to see if anything was obviously going on. I was surprised when the vet came back with old-school film x-rays. He showed me that there could be something in his intestine, but he couldn't really tell. He said we could wait it out or he could do surgery. When I asked him how much the surgery would be, he said roughly $1,600-1,900 but potentially higher. I knew then that this place was outrageously overpriced. He didn't even provide me a printed estimate or anything for this surgery. As I was checking out ($255 for exam, x-rays and a fluid take-home kit), I asked to take the x-rays with me in case I had to take my cat to the emergency clinic for the surgery (they had given me brochures on the emergency clinic). Eastwood closes at noon on Wednesdays and this was already 10:30am. My cat was extremely sick and could honestly have crashed at any moment. When I asked for the x-rays, the technician acted as if that was an absurd request and went to find the vet. The vet came out and told me that he would charge a $250 deposit for me to take the x-rays with me, which would be refunded if I brought the cat back for a recheck and x-rays the following day. This was really the straw that broke the camel's back. When I worked in an animal clinic, we would give copies of x-rays on CDs or via email with no questions asked! When I mentioned this, they held firm on the deposit. I had just paid $180 for two film x-rays and I could not even take them with me. They clearly care only about the money and not the well being of my animal. The following morning my cat had continued to decline, so I took him for a second opinion at my previous vet, Hunter's Creek Animal Hospital. They were super friendly and informative, took a digital x-ray of my cat and immediately diagnosed him with a foreign body blockage. When the vet went to get me a surgery for the procedure, I was extremely nervous, considering the estimate for bloodwork and x-rays at Eastwood was over $900. When the vet came back with the estimate, for the exam, bloodwork, x-rays, surgery, hospitalization and medications to go home, the cost was $656. One third of the price that Eastwood had thrown me for the surgery. I cannot believe the positive reviews this place has, I am highly suspect of their validity. Dr. T seems knowledgeable. I took my dog for annual check up. First time I went (when I first rescued my dog, saved up $ for months b/c I was a poor college student but want the best for my dog), I was haven a free sample of Frontline Plus.  He tried to sell me toothbrush kit for double what petsmart was selling.I came back couple years later b/c Frontline Plus stopped working and the other brands didn't work either, he recommended this Vectra 3D (doesn't work half the time). I wanted to try it before I buy 9 months worth of this really expensive stuff. He/his staff did not offer a free sample (which would be ok at a cheaper vet but I pay a lot to come here instead). He said my dog might have gotten worms from flea bites, so he gave my dog a shot. And a shot for the itch, sold me some sort of collar, and 1 dose of flea med. I went in for a wellness check/flea problem, came out $200+ lighter.
