How do I start this review when I'm lost for words...  Hiawassee Veterinary Clinic was referred to me by a friend of mine.  My baby girl was old and got very sick and I was looking for a place that I can take her to, to relieve her of the pain she was in..  She was over 12 years old and suffered a stroke and multiple seizures back to back.  I didn't want her to leave me but I knew it was best.  I called them and they were amazing right from the start.  They were so genuine  and kind knowing the pain I was in making this call.  I made the appointment to bring my babygirl in but she passed away right next to me on my birthday instead.  I was so lost.  I called them and told them what happened.  And after that everything was a blur.   2 weeks or so later.  (Today) I received a sympathy card from them. Each person wrote something.  That by far is what left me lost for words.  They didn't know me or my baby girl Mona but still sent a card.   I thank them immensely for the kind words and will never forget that.  I will forever refer them to anyone I know. I first took my miniature schnauzer here yesterday. I called for a semi-emergency appointment and they were able to fit me in that very day. From the moment I called to the moment I left their office, the staff was very helpful and friendly. They also gave me a price estimate for the visit over the phone. Dr. Palm diagnosed my dog immediately and was very honest about everything. He was straightforward and gave me three treatment plan options. He informed me of the pros and cons for each and was very open with pricing. Since I am currently a student in college with very little income, Dr. Palm was very generous in working with me on pricing. I was never pressured into purchasing medicine or unnecessary treatment. I will certainly be going back to Dr. Palm and this wonderful clinic. They treated my baby girl so well and kept her calm throughout the entire process. I highly recommend this vet. Read Less

Dr. Palm and his staff are very welcoming and friendly. If your pet has an emergency, they are okay with squeezing you in for less worry. Dr. Myers is also a very nice doctor. He is there at the clinic when Dr. Palm isn't available. The hours are great. I was able to go in on a weekend because of a problem I found in my puppy on Friday night. Read Less

Very good quality vet. I have even moved about an hour away from here but I still bring my little buddy (cat) here if he is having any problems. I have not had any issues after bringing him here. Also you cant beat the price. They are very affordable compared to the other vets in the area. To the entire staff i would like to say "JOB WELL DONE". My daughter Alexandra who is an animal lover by heart said "Papa I found this Veterinary place and they were awesome". I been around for many years and I agree with my daughter...You guys and gals are great! Most importantly Gigi our Golden Retriever got better thanks to all. Dr. Myers at the time was our attending doctor and has a beautiful heart. Juan and Ashley without a doubt were spectacular! Not just professional but caring and attentive. Needless to say 2 days later I get a call from Dr. Jason Palm to follow up on Gigi's progress. WOW should I say more. I highly recommend you bring your pet if you want your pet to be treated as you would want to be treated, with love and care and prices are reasonable. I was recommended to Dr.Palm by my boss who swore by him. I was skeptical because my dog was very sick, had already gone to three vets and through four surgeries in less than 3 months and the vet bills were stacking up. Cooper was only a puppy at the time, less than a year old and he had this unknown medical condition causing these lumps to grow in his abdomen. Two vets and one specialist and still no one could figure it out therefor it kept getting worse. Dr.Palm took the time to go over Cooper's entire medical history, he did blood work and did surgery. He diagnosed his condition and started him on the right medicine. When I had questions he took the time to explain things to me, even if I was calling and not in person. What makes Dr.Palm different than other vets is his experience and his dedication to getting animals better. Unlike other vets this office does not recommended extra services, they only do what is in your pet's best interest. If your dog doesn't need an x-ray, then one won't be suggested. They don't run unnecessary tests or hold your pet for observation any longer than what is actually needed. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable and you can truly tell that everyone there loves the animals that they are helping. If I could give 0 stars I would. My experience there was horrible. The staff, including Dr. Palm, did not seem to care that my cat was in urgent need of care. He not only diagnosed my pet's condition wrong; he told us to call or email at any time. When I tried to reach him it took EIGHT hours for him to get back to me.I recommend you look elsewhere for care for your sweet pet as this establishment should not be trusted. Read Less

Very accommodating. I was able to make an appointment very last minute to get my dog her yearly shots. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about everything. There is no pressure to purchase uneccessary things and only discuss recommendations. They really know how to bond with your pet and are extremely sweet and caring! Love love love this place! Dr Palm scheduled extra time for him since his case is special, and he recommended some very useful things (B12 shots and such). Both David and Dr Palm treated Phil like their own cat. They cuddled him, and he was so calm. I was more than impressed. GG had a dental cleaning and is doing great. Our golden retriever was acting weird yesterday not eating and vomiting. I called over and Ashley fit us in right away. The doctor ordered an x-ray and he was very concerned at what he saw. Encouraged us to go right to the emergency vet. We did and they immediately took her into surgery where they found she had injested a large clump of sand. I was really skeptical about getting a new vet because I feel like every time I have it has not been a very good time for me or my dog Aurora. This place is really great. Like really great. They were quick and professional. I'm an RN so I was so ready to judge on their clinical setting but mind blown totally awesome. They were really nice to Aurora. Dr Meyers really loves animals you can tell. He was so sweet to her and I. And made me actually feel like a good dog mom. Because I always feel like a terrible one because I work so much. He gave her so many treats and treated her like a person. You can tell they want take care of the animals not just take your money. That's so rare to find. Our beloved dog recently passed away, we had her for 13 years and Hiawassee Vet Clinic cared for her the entire time. Dr Palm is awesome and I don't think she could have been better cared for by anyone else. He does a great job of explaining things, giving the various options and helping with the tough calls that sometimes have to be made. I googled for vets in my area and came upon Hiawassee veterinary clinic since I read good reviews and it was close to home. I scheduled appointment and when we went for the appointment, from beginning to end was excellent service. The receptionist was friendly and knowledgeable, and Dr. Palm knew exactly what was going on with Leia and prescribed medication. We were still trying to find a home vet for our cats and I can safely say this is it. I made an emergency appointment for our younger cat due to a freaky change to aggressive behavior towards our older cat. Dr.Palm's staff got me in for an exam that same day. It is extremely obvious that Dr. palm loves animals and takes great care in diagnosing the issue. We went to Dr Palm for the first time last week to have our cat of 14 years put to sleep. This is never an easy thing to do. Dr Palm and his whole staff were so kind and professional. They even sent us a card personally signed by all the staff later in the week. We have one more cat with about 5 years left before he "goes off to college" as we like to say.
