I wish I could give this place 10 Stars. This past week my dog pumpkin was diagnosed with insulinoma. It was a week from hell. We were bringing him in on average, 2 trips a day. We were so scared and worried and didn't know where we would go from here. Dr Porter has been more than fantastic. He has followed up on everything. He has checked on us. He has answered all of our questions. And he has been more than patient with us. With us just moving from Ohio one month ago, it's been such a relieve knowing we have an amazing vet. The staff was very friendly and professional. I made an appointment for 11am to get my feline friend her rabies shot and nails trimmed. They hand you a form to fill out some basic info, pets name, age, address, etc. We did not wait long to get called back. The room we were assigned to wait for the vet in, was very clean upon entering. My pet was taken care of very well at all times throughout the visit. My dog has been a patient here for years. They treat her like she is their own. Every vet we have ever had the pleasure of meeting has always been very knowledgeable. Most recently Dr. Wilson and Valerie took excellent care of my dog after she had  bad reaction to a vaccine. When I dropped her off I wasn't sure how she was going to hold up after an over night stay in the ER and when I picked her up she was brand new. They even fed her. The pricing is also very fair. Our pets have been cared for by this office for more than 25 years. We have moved across town but continue to come here for the wonderful care given. The office is kind and courteous. The doctors are knowledgeable and are very easy to communicate with. We have had several emergency situations over the years in addition to routine exams and immunizations. I don't typically leave reviews as it's just time consuming. But, after the experience I just had today with this office and the vet that assisted me, I am compelled to give my up most praise. We had a very pregnant cat show up at our door almost a week ago. Being the animal lover our family is, we decided to bring her inside and care for her. Couldn't leave her out all alone. Within 48 hours, she had made a bed inside our bathroom pantry and began delivering her kittens. She was a rockstar!!! We've taken in many, many cats over the years and I've helped many mommas give birth and she was by far one of the strongest momma cats I've ever seen. She ended up giving birth to three kittens. They all seemed very well. Today, after a long day at my surgeons office we came home to find one kitten very lethargic, cold, and being neglected by the momma cat. I immediately called this office to see which formula to use to bottle feed the kitten. The kitten wasn't doing well at all so while I went to the store to buy the bottles, milk, and a heating pad I made an appointment to bring momma kitty and the three kittens to be seen tomorrow. The lady I spoke on the phone with was absolutely amazing. She was knowlegable and answered all of my questions. Telling me to not hesitate to call back if I needed to. When I arrived back home, my husband informed me the kitten was getting worse. After mixing the milk and trying to bottle feed the kitten, as well as holding her on a heating pad, The kitten was getting worse by the minute. So, I called the clinic back to see if I could bring the kitten in right away. Without hesitation, even though they were near closing time, they said of course I could. So, we loaded up and drove there. I was greeted with kindness and taken to a room where I spoke with the vet who informed me that the odds of the kitten surviving were very low. The kittens heart was weak, breathing was shallow, and the kitten wasn't moving at all. She told me I could take the kitten home and try the bottle and heating pad, they could try some assistance overnight, or we could put the kitten to sleep. After realizing that taking hee home would mean she would pass away in such a cruel way, and even with medical assistance she wouldn't make it, we made the difficult decision to put the kitten to sleep. The vet was so compassionate and understanding. Giving me time to spend with the kitten and allowing me to go outside and inform my husband and children what was happening. She allowed me to stay with the kitten as she put her under and handed me tissues when I needed them. She stayed until the kitten passed then allowed me time to grieve and regain my composure before going back out to my kids. I still have the appointment to get the momma cat and two other kittens checked out and because they made sure to inform me of their free first visit coupon they have online, The visit will be free. This will be our vet from now on. I am more than thankful for the way the entire staff treated me throughout this. They went above and beyond for us. I would recommend them to any and everyone. We took one of our rescued cats here last month for a surgical procedure. The wait time was under 5 minutes & I really appreciate that they have separate wait rooms for dogs & cats. The front desk staff were polite & helpful - the veterinarian didn't leave us waiting in the back, either. Both vets that I met while there were knowledgeable & had excellent bedside manner. They answered all questions fully & in a manner that was easy to understand. We returned when we got our new dog after this positive experience & again; no wait time, friendly faces & even for just a bath/nail trim drop-off the vet met with us and answered questions we had about our new dogs dietary needs - I found this very helpful considering they do not charge for an exam when getting a bath. Advice was on the house! I'll definitely be returning here with any of my future veterinary needs for my dog & 2 cats & the location being convenient doesn't hurt, either! Read Less

My fur baby loves Dr. Ebner. He has been the only one that she's comfortable with, and we totally understand why. Dr. Ebner is so patient, gentle, and knowledgeable. He doesn't try to rip us off like the other vets do. Other vets try to sell us treatments and supplements that are very expensive and unnecessary. I took one of my cats to Kirkman Road Veterinary Clinic due to an infection. The vet tech was very pleasant and knowledgeable and the vet was very knowledgeable. The price was a bit higher than I am accustomed to paying, but I do think that I will be back, based on the care and analysis of the staff. I went back for a second time with another cat who was not feeling well. I felt I got excellent service from the vet tech and the veterinarian. This time, the price was much more reasonable. All of my questions were answered and multiple options discussed. I like this clinic and will return if one of my animal companions needs medical care. Read Less

This was my first time ever going to a veterinary clinic for a pet, as my cat Dexter (Dex for short) is my first pet. I saw Dr. Edmen, and he was so nice and professional and made Dex and I feel comfortable! I changed my dog's veterinary office to this practice, as the one we were going to after moving was too high-pressured with hard selling their pet "insurance" plans along with expensive services.  Upon comparison of a proposal for dental work, I could also have my dog's benign tumors & cysts removed for the same price, without pet insurance.    We took her back the following month when an inner ear infection had her suddenly off-balance, head tilting and unable to walk or see straight.  The vet said she should be fine within a few weeks, and to keep​ an eye her so she doesn't fall into the pool, etc.  We trust them with her health and dental care. Took my 1 1/2 year old Rottweiler to get neutered here. My dog was in perfect health, as all of his medical records indicated, and he was up to date with all of his vaccines. I left my dog post-neutering for bordering there while I was away for work for 9 days. Figured it'd be a good idea to leave him there to be medicated and tended to post surgery. Upon picking him up I noticed he was lethargic and a bit slower, which I figured was part of the after-effects of the surgery. I basically got back a different, very sick dog. For starters he contracted kennel cough, which is an obvious indication that the place isn't very sanitary and accepts dogs for bordering who have conditions that potentially infect other dogs around them. My dog was, and still is very lethargic, limping from his front legs and can hardly walk, go up and down stairs or get in and out of the car without my assisting him. I took him to AVS for further testing where he was diagnosed with fluid in his joints. Currently I'm spending thousands of dollars to get him tested and treated, but his condition isn't improving. I went from having a very strong, playful, fun loving, perfectly healthy dog, to a dog that's basically now vegetable in a matter of days. He's obviously contacted some virus or disease while at Kirkman that they want no part because they're accepting any responsibility for what's happened to my dog while under their care. Basically I paid for a service that was suppose enhance, and possibly prolong, my dogs health and his life overall, but got neither. Unheard of for a 1 1/2 year healthy puppy to go through such a transition in a matter of days while under professional care. This may or may not be a rare case, but not worth experiencing the excruciating pain of seeing your pet deteriorate right before your eyes from a simple procedure like neutering to hardly being able to function. So do the math before considering this facility. Not worth the risk by any stretch. Read Less

What a great office! My dog had an emergency and I spent my entire morning looking on google to find a Vet that would help him. A lot of offices open early but don't have a Veteranarian there until hours later. Which I will say confuses me. But not this office! They let me come in as soon as I called and there was actually a veterinarian there. I met with Dr. Porter and he is awesome. My Vereranarian from now on. Read Less

We were very pleased with how our kitty's visit went.  She was wrapped in a big white towel and didn't budge, she felt so safe.  Fortunately, it wasn't serious and the cost was kept down by offering alternative treatments first.  The front office was easy enough to work with and the waiting area wasn't littered with back to back patients. After having a hard time getting through to anyone yesterday, I decided to go in w no expectations besides to get some more info . The ladies at the front desk were pleasant and decided we should get him looked at immediately despite me not having an appointment . I was so relieved that I was able to get my puppy Bentley looked at despite being an out of state resident . I feel blessed to find a spot like this when I am only accustomed to my primary vet . The complimentary exam was exactly what I needed while going through these hard times . I wish I could put into words how appreciative I am for the excellent customer service and how much better my puppy feels already ! If you love your dog as much as I do **which is pretty hard to do** this is an excellent place because it is super clean , excellent customer service, plenty compassion and the time frame . If I become a permanent resident here . . . there is no other place I would take my puppy . I would highly recommend them a thousand times ! Read Less

Last week, I took my dog Remy to this clinic for dental cleaning since he had some inflamed gums towards the back of his mouth. I normally use a mobile vet but since this issue was too big to be treated my house, I searched online for a vet's office that was experienced in dental work and found this clinic. I was able to get an appointment rather quickly. Remy actually needed surgery since he had two cracked teeth (P4s) with exposed roots that needed to be removed. The staff and doctor were all very friendly and they treated Remy with great care. They were very careful with him post op and used a sling to help him walk, because I had informed them that he had a full hip replacement on his left side and dysplasia on his right. The price and service were excellent and I won't hesitate to use their services again in the future. Read Less

I've been coming here with my dog for about five years now. Always been relatively satisfied until today. I was called a couple of days ago to bring my cat in for booster shots. When I brought her in today, I was told it was too late for booster shots, and that I might as well wait until next year. Meanwhile, I get charged for a full exam anyway. Why even bother calling me to bring her in for booster shots if it's already too late for them? At least I got her claws trimmed, so I suppose it wasn't a complete waste of time. Please do not bring your guinea pigs here. I saw dr.Kennedy because my girl was not doing well. Turns out she had bladder stones. Dr gave her fluids and sent her home with some antibiotics and some sulfate cream and told me she would be able to pass them on her own. The following night my girl was in so much pain that she wouldn't eat or drink. I took her to exotic animal hospital of orlando where she was seen by dr.diaz. He said she was in critical condition and guinea pigs need surgery for bladder stones. He was upset that Dr. Kennedy didn't send me home with any pain medication and the WRONG TYPE OF ANTIBIOTICS. now I need to make the decision of putting her through surgery where there is a 50/50 chance of survival or putting her to sleep. Incredibly overpriced, I absolutely regret coming here to kirkman animal hospital. Although dr.Kennedy was very kind, She obviously didn't know much about guinea pigs which she should have told me in the first place. Read Less

I hate to leave bad reviews but I have to say this I found a stray kitten last week who I was taking care of. I decided to take him in to get examined. When I got there the Dr. I belive her name is Dr. Graves did not even touch my kitty! She used gloves to poke at him and all she could tell me was ""eah he looks sick. He doesn't look good" all this with the most annoying voice and smile on her face. She didn't take his temp she didn't look at his face she didn't examine him at all. She prescribed antibiotics and left. I began to cry because I knew my kitten was sick but I wanted someone to comfort me to tell me we were going to get him better I wanted someone to tell me together we can save this kitty. The vet tech was a bit more help and once she saw me crying she comforted me to some extent. Once I got home and gave him the meds he slept all day he got really cold after a while and later that night he passed away. I blame the vet to an extent because if she would have at least looked at him seriously and examined him by taking his temp I would have known he needed urgent care not just a "h he looks sick yeah I'm sorry" the veterinarians in this state show no compassion towards tthir patients and this vet is one of the worst Read Less

We brought in our cat recently for severe constipation and could not have asked for a better experience. We particularly appreciated the separate waiting areas for dogs and cats, first of all. The staff was terrific with a very nervous cat. The veterinarian, Dr. Martinez was also very patient, and spent enough time with us to answer all our questions. We were on a tight budget, but they didn't try to oversell services. It's not a discount veterinary clinic, of course, but the estimate they gave us was quite reasonable, and easy to understand. We're new to Orlando, so were reliant on web research to pick a nearby vet. But even though we were on a tight budget, we were very happy we selected Kirkman Road Veterinary Clinic. They wound up coming in below the low end of their estimate. All in all they did a fantastic job, and provided a solid value as well. Would give them our highest recommendation based on their service on this, our first visit, and we plan on making Kirkman Road our first stop for all our veterinarian needs in the future. We've been visiting Dr. Porter for years now, no matter where we lived in Orlando we always made the drive to see him and the rest of the team. We started off seeing Dr. Porter because our original dog was super difficult, and the woman who made the appointment knew that it was a Dr Porter kind of situation. We have pretty much always seen him since then, with a few emergency visits throughout the years with the other vets, and all are fantastic. The ladies at the front counter are awesome and remember you and your pets. The techs are awesome and good with the pets.I'm one of the people who freaks out when anything happens to my pets, so we go very often. It is never an issue with appointments, and just yesterday, we called for an appointment and there were none, but since my girl had a bad ear infection, the ladies at the front squeezed us right in. I've never had to wait more than a full day for an appointment, because there are a few vets that are always working. For the most part, if it is a regular exam, you get to choose who your pets will see. Prices are super fair. I've walked out a couple times with that feeling of triumph you get when you paid a lot less for something than you had planned on.Bottom line, Dr Porter has created a great little place for animals. Kirkman road veterinary clinic was seeing my baby a cockatiel named poochi for over 12 years as her primary vet. Everytime I would go the staff was knowledgable and very helpful. Dr porter is one of the nicest veterinarians I have met in my life, he knows birds very well and has always given realistic evaluations. Pricing has also always been fair. I have been to most of the avian veterinarians in Orlando and although dr Diaz is the most certified bird vet in the city I didn't feel very comfortable there, and they have very little compassion. With that being said my baby passed away last April of a recurring respiratory infection and if any bird owners see they're bird sick please don't wait to take your bird to the vet, and go through with antibiotics and don't stop when you see, he/she is getting better. Absolutely awesome! I took my bearded dragon here first and was blown away with the level of care and attentiveness the staff provided (it is almost laughable how much better they are than certain 'pet-store in-house vet chains'). Dr. Porter is better than my own primary physician and not only helped in the clinic but was there to answer my calls and questions on numerous occasions (even called me to check up on my pet). I will never take my two dogs or reptiles anywhere else, this is the best clinic in Central Florida. Read Less

She is very knowledgeable about the latest technology and new treatments (but there is no "up-selling" of unnecessary services). This place helped my family when other places didn't. My cat was really sick. First vet I took him too nearly killed him. They didn't care about my cat but this place did!!
