Metrowest Veterinary Clinic

Orlando, Florida
General Info
Metrowest Veterinary Clinic in Orlando delivers healthcare to Florida's pets through appointments that function as recalibrations based on sensory awareness and emotional pacing instead of mere procedural visits. During the initial minutes observers engage in visual examination without physical contact. Employees observe pets as they investigate corner spaces and react to gentle sounds while orienting themselves around moving objects. The diagnostic flow experiences real-time customization. When pets either hold their breath during eye exams or react to neck contact by flinching, staff members adjust the visit sequence. Owner input enhances every medical decision through observations like pet reactions to wind their sleep space adjustments or frequency of home contact initiation. Metrowest Veterinary Clinic provides services such as diagnostics and pain modeling alongside mobility screening and environmental allergy assessment while also delivering preventive planning and long-term stabilization for chronic conditions. Services for animals healing from trauma or overstimulation may be distributed across various time slots or combined with decompression breaks. Pacing and communication around results emerge from time-of-day patterns combined with home social environments. Follow-up appointments emerge from pet recovery patterns rather than fixed dates. Instruction for owners includes monitoring post-visit behavioral anomalies such as room avoidance, reduced stretching movements, and delayed vocal responses. Channels of communication remain accessible for modifications whenever routines alter or symptoms emerge progressively. Metrowest Veterinary Clinic provides veterinary services across Orlando and nearby Florida regions by interpreting the subtle signals pets display and owners perceive within the pauses between heartbeats, gestures, and silent moments.

I can’t say enough good things about this veterinary office! The facilities are very clean and they are very good at sweeping up the floors. The office staff are friendly and easy to work with. They are very accommodating! If your pet has an urgent problem then they make sure to get you in right away. They spend a good amount of time with you and your pet making sure that you understand everything. I like that they give a print out of the estimated costs before they perform any procedures. They accept CareCredit so it makes it easier to pay. I have two cats who they treat like family here! Read Less

The first time I came to this vet was not on very happy circumstances. We lost our dog in a house fire and I really wanted to get her cremated. We came here and you can tell that the women at the front desk were very genuine and caring when we shared our story. The woman helping us knew we were hurting and tried to get us through the process as quickly as possible. As we said our goodbye's for the last time she gave us her condolences. While we were there she asked that we give them a call if we needed anything at all (they have a group of volunteers that work there.) Shortly after we left, my dad got a phone call and they discounted the service. Very pleased with this place and I'm so thankful we wound up there. Read Less

This veterinary clinic was recommended by the rescue group we got our shiba inu from. It's 15 minutes drive from our house, located in the Metrowest area. We had to bring our shiba here for heart worm treatment and removing a mast cell tumor on her paw. The staffs are super friendly and professional, the office is very neat and clean. Every time we go there for an appointment, we are seen on time and never had to wait for more than 5 minutes. They don't try to up sale or over charge anything that my dog didn't need. Which is why we love this vet office so much. My shiba didn't like going to the vet, but she definitely likes the staffs there. Read Less

Magic was having constant UTI's and was overweight. They told me that Magic was diabetic and needed insulin and special food.  In search of a 2nd opinion, I called a holistic vet and she said to switch Magic from dry food to wet food. It fixed ALL her problems. She lost weight. No more UTI's. She no longer cries when she uses the bathroom. She is really hydrated (3 ounces of water twice a day). She was no longer able to digest the dry food.  Metrowest Vet didn't even suggest this an option. Just high priced food and constant medication. I am no longer confident in their abilities or willingness to treat Magic. I took her in for this ear infection and I was the one that found out the blood was coming from a cut and not the inner ear. I treated with Neosporin Anti-Itch and pain relief and healed the ear. I am not sure how they didn't see it. They were not even willing to look at Magic when I called today. They are blaming everything on a deep ear polyp without even looking. There has to be way to treat the itching. That is why she is bleeding. She is cutting her ear with her claws. The ear smells like death. I told the doctor I would be seeking a 2nd opinion and switching vets. Read Less

This review is in coordination with A Cause for Paws. I had an unfortunate experience with this dog organization and would not recommend dealing with them in any way, shape, or form. I received conflicting information from both A Cause for Paws and the front desk of MetroWest Veterinary Clinic. Because of the dishonesty and rudeness from the front desk and accusations from Dr. Callahan, I would not recommend the clinic. Read Less

I have been taking my dogs to Metrowest Vet clinic and Philip Callahan for over 20 years and have experienced a large variety of veterinary services at this clinic:  annual checkups, dental cleanings, multiple surgeries (tumor excision, neutering, liver biopsies),  and several emergent visits like the time one of my dogs ate a nylon stocking!  Two of my dogs are certified therapy dogs and they require a lot of "maintenance" and wellness visits.  I have ALWAYS received exceptional care and service and the clinicians/support staff have always treated me with respect and compassion.  My most recent visit (3/5/16) was a wellness visit to show Dr. Callahan an orthotic device that was designed up in Gainesville for one of my dogs.  Dr. Callahan loved the design of the device and he thought it was the best current option for my dog's unique spinal injury/fracture.  This is one of the reasons why I love Dr. Callahan.  He is extremely flexible and open minded and I always feel like my opinion matters and that I am included in the decision making process.  When I told him about this idea via email, he was very supportive and encouraged me to run with it.   I consider myself to be a "high maintenance" client - I ask lots of questions, I expect a high level of communication and I have a strong desire to know what all my treatment options are before I opt for a specific course of treatment.  Working with a veterinarian who has a similar mindset is the only option for me. I highly, highly recommend Metrowest Veterinary Clinic. I have been taking my dogs to Dr. Philip Callahan for over 20 years, despite moving from the Orlando area 12 years ago. It is definitely worth the two hour drive to continue to receive superior and compassionate veterinary care. I have had three dogs that have grown up with this veterinarian, from puppy hood to those difficult and challenging end of life issues. Dr. Callahan is an exceptionally talented and conscientious vet who has always gone above and beyond to provide top-notch and compassionate veterinary care. Dr. Callahan is always extremely thorough in his evaluations and I have never known a medical professional (human or K9) who spends as much time as he does discussing his findings, explaining potential treatment options and most importantly, answering the multitude of questions that I always seem to have. I am a healthcare professional myself, so I can truly appreciate the extra effort it takes to prioritize relationships where the clients input is valued and respected. Dr. Callahan is extremely knowledgeable, kind, patient and incredibly gentle and loving with my dogs. My dogs love to come here almost as much as I do!! Dr. Callahan has a wonderful group of technicians and his front office staff is as friendly and professional as any place you will ever find. It can be very stressful dealing with the day to day problems of a dog with complex medical issues, but Dr. Callahan and his staff bring me great comfort in knowing that my dogs are treated like family and I know they are in the very best of hands.
