Always helpful! I love Dr. Bacia, compassionate, caring, and all around great Dr. The entire staff is great! I drive past about 4 other vet clinics in my area to take my dogs here. My wife and I made the difficult decision to euthanize our precious Corgi Chihuahua mix Elmer on 11-2-17. This was a very hard decision that we agonized about for some time, he was our child. We decided to take him to Powers Drive Animal Hospital, huge mistake! Dr. Louis Sardenga is a cruel and sadistic jerk. He came in the room and gave Elmer a shot in his hip that knocked him out, left the room and when he came back with a big electric clipper, He started gouging at the fur on Elmer's rear leg with the corner of the clippers. When I told him that he had nicked my boy's leg he started muttering something about the clippers and continued to dig the corner of the clippers into the wound until it got bigger and started bleeding. He and his assistant started pulling hard on Elmer's leg and when he finally stuck the needle in the assistant said it was shooting out, so Dr. Sardenga flipped Elmer over and started shaving his other leg, got the needle in Elmer's leg this time and injected him. Elmer laid there for several minutes gasping for air, when I asked why this was happening Dr. Sardenga said it was just a reflex, Elmer's heart had already stopped. This whole procedure and the way Dr. Sardenga conducted himself was shocking and traumatizing to watch. I called the next day and left a message for Dr. Bascia to call me. Sometime later that morning Dr. Sardenga called me and was very rude and asked me if I knew that the animal was unconscious, like it didn't matter how carelessly Elmer was treated. This was our family member for almost 15 years. Dr. Sardenga said everything was my opinion and he was sorry I felt that way. My wife and I are so hurt by what happened at Powers Drive Animal Hospital we will probably never get over it. Read Less

I can't begin to express my appreciation to the entire staff at Powers Drive Animal Hospital. The staff is outstanding and Drs Bacia, Louie and Hall are heaven sent. Unfortunately we have moved out of state; however, I still come into town consistently. I know it is impractical; but, I bring my pups with me if/when they have issues. The greatest compliment I can give is that Powers Drive Animal Hospital has my trust. Do yourself; and most of all your pets, a favor and make this the place for their care. I brought my heart dog here, after she had already started a growth on her lip. They were very very very good with my temperamental and somewhat aggressive Mia. Never asked to put a muzzle on her, not once. The biopsy was not a good result, of no fault of the doctor. We talked and throughout Mia's fight, they kept in contact with the oncologist. I was never pushed to say goodbye to my friend before Mia was ready, while never being told or expected to buy meds. I can not say enough for how much the WHOLE staff cared, and the whole staff seemed to take a special something from the one thing that gave me so much, my Mia. Thank you Guys!!!! Read Less

I have been bring my maltese here since 2007. The front desk staffs are wonderful. They are always nice and cheerful. They don't over book patients so the max I have seen in the waiting room are 4. Those are the first appointments on Saturday morning. Pricing are better than all clinics within 50 miles radius. The back office assistants are kind, helpful and pretty (sorry, I had to add that). The Dr. I like the most is the owner. Sadly, he retired some years ago. All and all, you owe it to your dog and your pocket book to check out this clinic. Read Less

Going on year 40 as clients of this wonderful animal hospital. My husband and I are second generation thrilled customers of current Dr.'s Bacia and Sardenga and now-retired founder Dr. Fred Hall. The ENTIRE staff is beyond incredible. Folks, we moved to Mount Dora 13 years ago...yet we still travel to this clean facility for our felines' vet care. They are honest, caring, compassionate and explain any complicated procedures with patience. Prices are reasonable, with very convenient pick-up and drop-off times for the furry family who have to undergo any anesthetic procedures. Dr. Bacia and everyone that works at Powers Drive are kind to the animals and customers. I'm a first time pet owner and have a fear of dogs. They have worked with me so I always felt safe even if that was allowing me to wait in a patient room while an unruly dog was entering or leaving the facility. Dr. Louie not even knowing me assured the vet tech that it was fine for me to stay in the room while a dog left the building. I have had a lot of questions the ladies on the phone and the doctors have always been patient and encouraging. I recently had a wonderful experience of having my animal spayed. They made sure I knew what to expect the day of the surgery and the weeks following the surgery. The morning I went in to have her spayed they had two emergency's. They were still able to get my pet back in a timely manner after seeing to the dogs that were having emergency's and the atmosphere was calm. I drive a good distance to see Dr. Bacia and would recommend him or Dr. Louie to anyone and especially a first time pet owner because of their patience and passion for what they do. Thank you!!! What an amazing practice! The doctor actually performs educated exams of your pet instead of jumping to the statistically likely and easy diagnosis. I drive over half an hour to take my dogs to Powers Drive Animal Hospital. The staff is amazing and Dr. Louie (Louis Sardenga) is very honest and caring, and takes great care of my dogs. I was extremely grateful that you were able to see us at a moments notice. You were capable of diagnosing her immediately with a seizure and hypoglycemia. Your quick actions brought her back to a fast recovery. Not only did you stabilize her, but even decided to keep her under observation for the rest of the day. You also provided us with an off-site, after hours emergency clinic in case she relapsed.
