Dr. Choset is an amazing veterinarian.  We adopted a rat terrier puppy with hypospadias and I went to numerous vets and was told the surgery was going to cost $3000-$4000.  Dr. Choset told me he could perform the surgery for $1000!  Our dog underwent surgery two days ago and is recovering well! We were charged even less for the surgery!  He is a very honest vet and the staff is amazing.  Everyone is very caring.  I would highly recommend this place! Read Less

I brought in a kitten that was thought to have FIP. Dr. Choset explained how and what FIP was clearly and did a thorough exam of Lolli. He was willing to do the blood test to ease my mind but not once did he push it, as a matter of fact, he was pretty sure it wasn't and wasn't about to do something that wasn't necessary. Thank you so much! I brought my boy, Charlie in for a second opinion after being told he needed immediate surgery for a luxating patella. Boy, am I glad I did, not only is surgery a last resort (not to mention that the luxating patella wasn't even the cause of the injury) but we found this amazing office. Charlie is so relaxed when he's here and if he's happy, I'm happy. He is slowly making progress and I couldn't be more thankful especially after losing our other dog shortly after the same surgery to cancer. This place is amazing. I believe they are going to be my new go to vet. I have always gone to see Dr.Brown at the college park animal clinic because he’s very personal and isn’t money hungry. But he doesn’t have the same skills sets as this place does. So first things first, when I walked in I was blown away. It was so clean and welcoming . And even thought I brought my intact male cat in, who was spraying up a storm and had vomited in his cage on the way there and completely... stank up the entire room immediately. My friend who came with was practically dry heaving it was so bad. And none of the staff made a face or anything. Then we went to the cat evaluation room which I thought was pretty cool to have separate rooms from dogs. So now I’m an even smaller space with my smelly cat. I felt sooooo bad. I kept apologizing and they didn’t seem to mind at all. My cat is 4 years old and he’s never been to a vet and they didn’t judge me at all for it. I had work when it was time for my Kodi to be picked up so I had a friend do it. And I sent my friend and a sheet of paper filled with questions I wanted to ask, and the vet wrote on the paper answering everything and left his email for me to ask more questions (I’ve already sent 3 emails within a course of 30 minutes so I’m sure he’s already regretting that decision lol. And I didn’t feel robbed here like some vets make you feel. I got an infected bite wound on my cats face that was a week or two old, and got him neutered and his rabies shot all for about 500 bucks. And when I bring him back in I won’t have to pay for the stitches removal which is great. And they also print out multiple evaluations and they explain what you’re getting with each one. For my visit I could chose to just get the wound healed, or to get it done and have him neutered and then I had the third option that included all of his shots. That added an extra 100 bucks to my already large bill so declined that option and I never felt pressured to do so. They were just giving me my options but they understand that money can be an issue. The only two things I wish were different were that they gave out a paper with instructions on aftercare, maybe I didn’t receive one because I had sent my friend with paper already, or what but it’d be nice to have, especially printed out so it’s easier to read. And also I’d love if they had a payment plan. But honestly most vets don’t so it’s no biggie, but it would be a nice option . I absolutely love the staff and cleanliness of this office! Everyone cares for the patients as if they belong to them! I’m very happy with the service I receive every single time we visit! I have been taking my hound babies to Banfield for years now. Recently, they have never seemed to be available to me and my boys. So, having recently moved right next door, we went to try Silver Star. I am glad we did! Their prices are comparable and the staff is great with animals! Growing up around animals, I have been to many vets throughout the Orlando area. My husband and I have 3 dogs and recently went to Silver Star Animal Hospital to update annual shots and get a general well being check up(my husband had actually taken previous pets there and highly recommended Silver Star). I could not have been any more impressed! The facilities were welcoming and very clean, the staff was very patient, organized, and friendly and the vet, Dr. Choset, was exceptional! A situation arose where I needed to board my cat, Bella. She had never been to this place before and they did not know her, but they accommodated her for what turned into a 10 day visit. I have a lot of anxiety and Bella is my service animal, for all intents and purposes. The facility, upon arrival, was clean spacious and welcoming for animals. The boarding area was large and comfortable for Bella. She settled in quickly. The only thing better than all of this was the compassion and empathy shown by all staff interacted with. At first the boarding was only for a few days, every time it needed to be extended, there were no issues. Everyone went out of their way to make sure my cat and myself felt cared for. They followed my feeding suggestions and asked very good questions about her personality. They even bathed her before pick up. We needed to pick her up on a day they are usually closed but yet again our request was responded to and accommodations were made. I cannot imagine a better place to board your cat or dog. They engage in meaningful conversation to ease your time there and connect with their customers. When they offer other things and/or advice, they do it in a non invasive way, unlike other businesses. I needed a short notice appointment, and even from the phone call to the office visit; everybody at the location was very thoughtful and considerate. Especially their interaction with my baby girl, eight-year-old Pitt bull. The doctor took his time with her 1st time visit, and gave me the recommendations I needed to better understand her condition, and treatment options. Most of all, he graciously took all of her kisses! I've often felt that some veterinary offices weren't always as compassionate as their websites reflect, but this particular office was so thoughtful of not just my dogs needs, but also mine as her loving owner. I have been using this vet for my pets for 20 years or a little more. The original owners sold, just recently, and the new vet is just as nice and knowledgeable are the original owners. Dr. Andrew Choset and staff are wonderful people. They truly care about your fur babies. When my youngest dog had what was a possible seizure. Dr. Choset took great care of her. He gave me great advice on what to watch for. I brought my second dog in for a dental. The staff and hisself made sure my other dog was safe during the process. When I called to check on her. I just recently moved back to Orlando from a small town where I had a great vet there for my Labrador. So the expectations were set high when it came to finding a new Vet. I saw that the Silver Star Animal Hospital was offering a free exam for new patients which caught my attention but did not exactly bring me in. I was still a little skeptical. So I hooped online and did some research via Google and was surprised that all of the reviews were positive. Which made me at least want to give them a shot. Emma and Katie (I hope I spelled their names right) were by far the BEST people who have ever trimmed my dogs nails! My little dog hates nail trims and usually proves to be too difficult for most techs, but they handled her beautifully and were able to trim all her nails very quickly and very well!
