Vca Bay Hill Cat Hospital

Orlando, Florida
General Info
Vca Bay Hill Cat Hospital in Orlando treats veterinary appointments as dynamic events shaped by a pet's real-time actions of noticing ignoring or seeking. Throughout Florida this adaptable model provides support to residential properties. The beginnings of human interaction frequently occur through nonverbal communication methods. Before initiating any physical examination the team assesses tail position along with spatial hesitation and micro-responses. Each room's lighting and scent levels can be adjusted to prevent startle reflex activation. The scheduling of appointments follows the pet's self-governing chronological framework. Certain practitioners initiate their assessments through orthopedic evaluations while others start with basic observational scanning based on detected tension patterns. Vca Bay Hill Cat Hospital delivers diagnostic assessments and laboratory services along with illness intervention and orthopedic support plus dermatological care and oral health treatments for multiple species. Examinations might omit certain steps or change their sequence when indicators such as lip licking paw withdrawal and shifting gaze appear. Evaluating pain indicators involves examining posture and breath instead of vocalization which proves crucial for stoic breeds and prey-species animals. Following treatment re-acclimation is encouraged. Families receive detailed briefings about persistent behavioral responses and secondary stress indicators while learning when decompression needs should take precedence over immediate activities. Home care plans focus on a pet’s sensory threshold instead of solely physical recovery benchmarks. Vca Bay Hill Cat Hospital delivers a veterinary experience to Florida homes that transcends traditional care by engaging in a conversational approach that quietly attunes to animal signals of comfort, confusion, and calm.

I should have taken into account some of the other reviewers experiences with Angela Avok before bringing my siamese cat to her but she seemed nice at least getting me in the door. She misdiagnosed my cat's medical condition, pushed unnecessary treatments and wasn't interested in bedside manner afterward. She is solely money focused and lacks the expertise needed in carefully evaluating treatment options and performing surgeries. The lack of professionalism was personally the worst I've seen in a vet. I would not recommend bringing your fur baby to her but I am thankful my girl is now in good hands with a more reputable, knowledgeable cat vet. Read Less

My cat was brought here for dental surgery and I've recently found out by another vet that the bloodwork Dr. Avok did before the surgery revealed he had high levels of CREA meaning he was in early stages of kidney failure. She not only never relayed it to me but on top of that pushed through to perform this highly rigorous procedure despite of this serious condition. She clearly didn't properly read his labs. On top of that almost immediately after this surgery, just shortly after him coming off anesthesia, she wanted to discharge him without giving him barely any recovery time. While rushing to discharge him, he clearly was not in a state to leave supervised care and started panting for air and loss of oxygen--when the techs called the vet back in she rolled her eyes as she had to emergency-administer him oxygen meanwhile this poor cat had just had major surgery and she just wanted to get paid and go home. It unfortunately all went further downhill with my cat from there. Shortly after the surgery my cat was left with a severe infection and further dehydration and a bump up in stage 3 kidney failure due to her malpractice. I had no idea he had kidney problems, I can't read lab reports myself that's your job, Dr Avok. If he had been properly assessed and treated there's a chance it could have been readily reversed. If she was truly in the business to care for cats she would have refused this surgery in his health condition. And to make matters worse she then rush through his surgery leaving fragments of his teeth (and god knows what else... improper sterilization...etc) and then rushing to discharge him. Dr. Avok is highly negligent; no effort was made to me in concern for my cats wellbeing and so I advise anyone out there seeking a cat vet to not be drawn in by the caring person she appears to be because her demeanor will quickly change. It did immediately after performing the surgery. The level of malpractice and finding all this out is beyond unacceptable because I trusted her with my little boy. Highly advise not taking your cat to her. Read Less

I have taken my cat to Bayhill Cat Hospital for years. Today was the last time. Not only has the service decreased in the past months but today the clerk disrespected me by speaking to me like garbage. She was argumentative and aggressive.  I no longer have confidence in your facility's ability to care for my animal. Over time I have referred many clients. As a matter of fact I started reading online reviews and realized this is the standard of care. Sadly this used to be the most wonderful cat hospital. DO NOT GO HERE I am begging anyone contemplating taking their cat here to think otherwise and go elsewhere. I made a big mistake in choosing this place for my cat's major dental surgery. My cat and I had a horribly traumatic experience here with a dental procedure for which he almost died because the vet, Dr. Avok was more concerned about taking her lunch break and finishing her day. It turns out, she is highly inexperienced to be performing this procedure. New to the area, I came from out of town since she specialized in cats. Dr. Avok briefly looked in his mouth and requested all his teeth removed although another vet I had consulted with prior confirmed 4 of them could stay in, the incisors and canines. In hindsight, he would've been better off with the other vet who had more dental experience with both dogs and cats. I'm not sure what I was thinking bringing him here. When I went to pick him up from surgery, he was overly pumped up on medicine, blood and drool pouring out of his mouth in no condition to be discharged. He then started panting and gasping for air and needed to get on oxygen. He almost died! The vet was more concerned about having missed her lunch break then being concerned about discharging my boy in this critical condition. They just wanted payment and told me to bring him to an emergency clinic! Two weeks post his surgery none of his paperwork or X-rays were sent to me as promised. I had to call several times to get them mailed/emailed because they didn't know how to use their own software to generate copies to me. Then he contracted an infection shortly after surgery and decided to take him to the original vet (I should have went with) for evaluation. The other vet deemed he: 1. Didn't need his canines or incisors removed 2. She didn't remove the teeth properly, may still be fragments behind and she didn't excise the inflammated tissue as required in order for proper healing. I don't care about the money, I dropped $2k at this office thinking they were qualified, properly trained, experienced and could get my boy feeling better- he is worse than he was before surgery. Now my poor little guy needs another surgery for her mistakes and worse, I can never get the few teeth he could have kept back. They also never bothered to call and follow up on how he was doing and that ultimately tells me they just wanted my money. As a doctor, a patient should come first and if the patient isn't recovering well, a good, caring, concerned doctor will make sure they are ok without rushing to discharge them right off of anesthesia just so they could go home for the day. I never received an apology for Dr. Avok's rude behavior that day and would highly recommend others to go elsewhere especially for a major surgery like this that requires skilled experience. *JUST FOR AN UPDATE: My precious boy had to be put down due to a severe infection he contracted after this dental surgery. She left fragments of his teeth in, didn't properly close the wounds, instruments weren't sterilized. He got worse after this surgery and suffered in agonizing pain for months after. He was drooling thick clots of blood, severe inflammation and lost a significant amount of weight due to pain and suffering. I am seeking legal action and reported to BBB. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAT TO 'DR." AVOK Read Less

This is the first time I have posted my opinion on the web. But I can't stand by without saying how wonderful, hospitable and competent the staff and doctor(s) are at Bay Hill Cat Hospital. My cat is 18 years old and nervous as a bobcat. Dr. Morris handled her with loving care and helped us leave our fears and frustrations at the door. Note: We first went to a veterinary clinic very close to home as our cat was freaking out in her cage. We were received with seeming disinterest and a feeling of incompetence. We left feeling helpless and frustrated and immediately drove the farther distance to Bay Hill Cat Hospital. There we received good care and support for our senior cat. We changed our veterinary care for our two cats to the Bayhill cat Hospital in Dr. Phillips about two years ago. We find that the experience there is much better for cats as the practice is exclusively for cats.  Our previous veterinarian, although very excellent, had a practice that was shared for both dogs and cats.  We find that Dr. Avok is very thorough, knowledgable, and caring on our annual visits. We find the team very friendly and considerate and very knowledgeable about our cats' health. We would recommend this practice for both family and friends. Read Less

I don't do a lot of online reviews.  But we have had such good experiences here I think it is important to share. We have been going to this vet for about 12 years.  Earlier this year we lost our 15 year old kitty.  And now our 14 year old is fading fast.  We also recently adopted 2 kittens.  So I feel like we have experienced every phase of a cat's life with the Bay Hill Cat Hospital.  They have been so good to us.  Our 15 year old kitty passed away while we were out of the country and the staff worked with our pet sitter to take care of him for us.  When we returned home they send us a card, signed by all of the staff, with his paw prints.  I have never met more caring, cat loving people.  They were so patient and kind throughout the whole process.  And they took care of our little boy.  Our 2 older kitties suffered some serious health conditions (cancer and such).  At every step they offered multiple solutions, estimated costs and opinions on what to do next.  When we decided not to spend thousands of dollars to test a 15 year old kitty they didn't judge us.  They helped us make all of the decisions needed so he could live out the rest of his life as comfortable as possible.   And with the testing we did do they walked us through every step.  Whenever possible we have also done home visits.  I love that this is an option.   Car rides are not fun with a stressed out cat.  This place is worth every penny.  I always know they have the kitties best interest at heart.  I highly recommend them to all the cat parents out there. I have been an extremely satisfied customer at Bay Hill Cat Hospital for many years. I have five cats so as you can imagine have spent a fair amount of time at BHCH. Every single visit the staff goes above and beyond my expectations. They know all five of my cats by name and they also know their individual personalities and quirks. Occasionally I've had to board one or two of them and I know they are always getting a lot of great attention. In particular one of my babies, Zeus, was a little selective about who he wanted attention from and Sara was his favorite. She is so kind and sweet and would take pictures of Zeus cuddling in her arms for me. Sadly, shortly after Christmas, we discovered Zeus had heart disease. It was shocking for me as he was barely six years old. He was prescribed medicine which prolonged his life an extra few months. During this time I would occasionally have a panic attack and bring him into BHCH without an appointment. They were always so kind and immediately would take time to check Zeus out and to reassure me. Sadly Zeus became worse and mid March I knew it was time to let him go. Dr. Avok along with Sara, one of the vet technicians, came to my house so that Zeus's last memories wouldn't be the scary drive in the carrier to the vet. I had never had to experience anything like this before and Dr. Avok and Sara both went above and beyond to explain the process and comfort me. I was able to hold my baby boy Zeus in my arms, wrapped in his favorite blanket, sitting in his favorite spot on the couch until the very end. In spite of the emotions I was feeling I was so happy that Zeus's last moments were is a familiar place and in my arms. Dr. Avok and Sara sat with the from start to finish and continuously consoled me. Afterwards they did not rush me at all and I was able to spend some time holding Zeus and talking to him, telling him how much he had been loved. When I was ready to let him go Sara took him from me as though he was a new born baby and reassured me that she would take extra special care with him. Afterwards, I received a very kind card with a personal note written by each of the staff at BHCH as well as a card with Zeus's paw prints. I have never been more touched in my life. I will be a forever customer of BHCH and I know that my four fur babies will continue to get exceptional care as well and top notch customer service for me. Read Less

I struggled with my cat's overweight problem for years.  I took him to several vets and it wasn't until I first went to Bayhill Cat Hospital that I complete blood work was offered and done.  It was a pricey appointment (at least for my pocket) but I felt like I had a new game plan to get my cat into shape.  Unfortunately, a couple of months after that my cat suffered his first blockage and since then I felt like their service went down hill with me.  They wouldn't renew his c/d prescription unless I would bring my cat in for a "follow up" every 3 months.  Of course since my cat isn't vet friendly they wanted to always sedate him (surprisingly they were very scared of an anxious cat - for a cat oriented vet) which added $200 to a "follow up" visit.  Everyone was indeed very nice but also very inflexible.  I explained to them I was a student and I couldn't afford but they were persistent of their "policies".  Needless to say I had to find a new vet and till this day Bayhill Cat Hospital continues to send me "appointment reminders" lol.  Are they clean? Yes.  Are they nice? Yes.  Are they worth it? I don't think so, unless I could afford to shower my cat in money. Read Less

Bay Hill Cat hospital is the most caring vet environment I have ever taken a pet to.  Both the doctors and the staff are amazing.  We recently went through a horrible ordeal with our cat at an emergency vet clinic. I called to make an appointment at Bay Hill because I was concerned about his slow recovery.  I was unable to get him there that day so Dr. Jeanne called me back to give me advise on how to manage him overnight and Dr. Kari lovingly helped us get through the situation the next day when we had an office visit.  We have had two cats that they cared for over the course of their lives and I have always felt like they were in the best of hands.  They truly care about the animals. You can see it in the way they interact with them and their responsiveness to the owners needs and concerns.  I would highly recommend them to anyone who has cats. Read Less

My husband and I are amazingly happy with the care our Bengal cat Roxy has received here.  This place REALLY knows cats!!!  It is the perfect set up as it is quiet, there are no other animal smells, and importantly the techs are gentle and soft spoken.  Our cat was very sick so we've gotten to see most of the staff in action over the several trips we have taken here.  Without reservation I can say all the staff are stellar.  Every single person we have come in contact with there has been helpful, understanding and completely knowledgeable about the specific needs of cats.  It by far the best vet we have ever been to!Dr. Kari is amazing!  I'm sure the other vets here are too but we've only worked with her.  Her treatment of our very sick cat was excellent.  We appreciated her explaining each procedure to us and answering all our questions.  She even texted back and forth with me on her DAY OFF to make sure our cat was alright!!!  I also really liked that she was careful to spread the treatments out to make sure Roxy was really improving before she jumped to any conclusions.  Her expert knowledge on cats certainly saved Roxy's life and her helpful advice to us as cat owners has improved the quality of our cat's life overall now that she is healthy again.  I would highly recommend this vet to anyone looking for a place to take their cat! I was early for my appointment so I had a short wait which was fine. I loved that there were kittens for adoption in the reception area. That is such a good indication of commitment to pet care. I always like to see "house" cats in a surgery too. The treatment and service was excellent and the Doctor was informative and caring. I am glad to have found this clinic. To help me budget my cat's dental needs, they very kindly are allowing me to do a simple prepay plan. I appreciate that. Read Less

My cat was failing despite the attempts of 2 other small animal vet offices trying to determine the cause of her condition. I finally took her to Bay Hill because I figured a cat specialist may be familiar with this specific disorder. Boy, was I right... Dr. Morford had a good idea what it was in about 5 to 10 minutes and a simple x-ray confirmed it... an impacted colon which was dealt with efficiently and expertly. I left much-relieved with a kitty no longer in painful distress and in fear for her life and a plan of action to ensure that it not happen again. Dr. Morford herself called me at home in due time to make sure her patient was progressing well.I am completely convinced that this is the place to bring my cats when they need informed, caring, and complete care. I never felt rushed while with the doctor, and didn't wait at all to see her. Every question and concern I had was answered, and the possible procedures were patiently explained and presented with their costs in a list. It was really easy to understand that way. I did not find the cost of their services more expensive than any other small-animal vet. The staff is knowledgeable and professional with a friendly touch and takes the time to attend to your needs.... it's not one of those too-busy offices that don't have the time of day to give you. I will not hesitate to visit Bay Hill again, despite the fact that I have vets much more close-by. Please give them a try! Read Less

This used to be THE place to take cats for outstanding veterinary care. The veterinarians who started the practice, Dr Diane Delmain & Dr Scott Delmain, always had the cats' best interests in mind. They were very caring and ran an excellent facility. Unfortunately, the company that now owns the practice dismissed them, apparently because they were not over-charging! Now this is first and foremost, a business, there to make money. Our cats will be going elsewhere, because we can no longer trust that the primary focus will be our cats' health. I had a bad experience with her then when I had a sick cat that she treated. While she did do a good exam plus labs and xrays, she then wanted to do another expensive test the next day thinking my cat might have cancer. I initially said OK, but she began to improve that day. I called and asked if we needed to rush to do the test because if it was cancer a few days wouldn't make a difference. Dr. Kari immediately got very abrupt and hung up the phone. It was quite inappropriate, and made me wonder about her motivations and lose confidence in her judgment. The cat recovered without getting the test. I won’t be taking my cats there anymore. 7601 Della Dr suite 17
Orlando Florida 32819

Read Less

DO NOT GO HEREI am begging anyone contemplating taking their cat here to think otherwise and go elsewhere. I made a big mistake in choosing this place for my cat's major dental surgery. My cat and I had a horribly traumatic experience here with a dental procedure for which he almost died because the vet, Dr. Avok was more concerned about taking her lunch break and finishing her day. It turns out, she is highly inexperienced to be performing this procedure.New to the area, I came from out of town since she specialized in cats. When I went to pick him up from surgery, he was overly pumped up on medicine, blood and drool pouring out of his mouth. I wish I had found you sooner! I've been in Orlando a year and finally got fed up with my local vet and decided to drive a little bit farther than I wanted to, but found Dr. Morris. You got me in right away, looked after Mister like he was a long-time patient, followed up with a specialist even though you knew I was moving and wouldn't be back, and generally treated us like long-term, valued patients and friends. Everybody was so sweet and prompt and caring and PROMPT (did I mention prompt?)  If I ever find myself back in Orlando, I will drive across the city to bring all of my furbabies to you. Trust me, Yelp readers, I have had a houseful of cats for years, I've lived in several cities, I've seen many vets and I can say Bay Hill is probably one of the finest places I've been (I recommend City Cat Clinic if you happen to be in St. Louis, as well). Read Less

I am so happy I found this practice. I noticed this afternoon that one of my cats was urinating outside and box and that her urine was a dark color. The office was able to get her in for an exam within an hour and a half. Dr. Morris was so friendly and kind to our little fluffball who is quite a nervous girl. She helped us come up with a plan for treatment so we were able to get her taken care of without pushing her over the limit since she was so stressed out. We weren't pressured into running a bunch of tests that may not have been needed given that the urinalysis that we knew she needed showed exactly what I was expecting. The prices were also very fair. The vet techs were also amazingly helpful and friendly. I feel very good about bringing our other two cats into the office for their check-ups and making this our veterinary home!Josie the office cat is a sweetheart, too :) Read Less

Thinking that something was not quite right with my gray tabby male cat, Atticus, I tried to schedule an appointment with his regular vet who was closed for the holiday week. Bay Hill Cat Hospital had great reviews online and they were open so I scheduled an appointment with them. I'm so glad I did! Dr. Avok was utterly amazing and so generous with her time. She was very thorough and did such a great job of explaining every detail. The office staff was awesome and the cost was less than half of what I'd anticipated. Plus, the office itself is really cool too: lots of light from beautiful bay windows shining in and cats and mice painted on the walls. I just can't say enough good things about the experience. I was so impressed that I scheduled a second appointment for my female tuxedo cat, Thirteen. Needless to say, my two fur kids have a new vet.
