Talk about money hungry!! From the moment that I entered the facility, they were trying to upcharge me. After waiting 1.5 hours to see Dr. K, they came back with an estimated bill of at minimum $450 dollars. How these people are associated with the Humane Society, I do not know.
Things to Note:
1. I asked if they price matched, since they were charging $135 for Trifexis (for a 60lbs), nope. I bought the meds online for $107 for a six-month supply.
2. My dog had what looked to be conjunctivitis. But I had to drive Miami and did not want to take a sick puppy in the car if it was more serious, so I visited Dr. K's office. Her greedy diagnosis: Sofia needed an eye stain and steroids, because she was unsure if there was trauma to the eye ("Maybe a dog attacked her or she could have done it to herself," Dr. K generalized); thereafter, she would be able to determine what medication Sofia needed.
3. I had asked for a urine test, because Sofia gets UTIs- once a year. Dr. K's response, Sofia needed X-rays at $135 a pop to determine that it was not something more serious. And, when I said no, they tried to convince me otherwise. I said to do the urine test. Sofia didn't pee, so they came back with a needle to the room to draw it out of her. Needless to say, I adamantly said no and left with Sofia.
4. In the end, I paid $75 for a general exam (which didn't tell me what was wrong with Sofia) and general eye drops to treat her.
**Update, it was conjunctivitis, and Sofia's eye has returned to normal. Read Less
