I you take your pets to this clinic PLEASE BEWARE of putting their health in the hands of "DR" JENNIFER DEMPSEY! Because of this senseless, lousy veterinarian, my loving cat had a horrible death! In addition to working at this clinic, she's also part of a team of absolutely unethical, greedy veterinarians who run an in home euthanasia service. They mislead pet owners by telling them their pets will be mildly sedated prior to euthanasia when in fact they deeply anesthetize the pet by combining not one, but two anesthetic drugs + a sedative in one injection that most of the time kills the pet right away. If things go "right" and because the pet's eyes will remain open, pet owners believe their pet is just sedated and still can hear them and feel their love when the truth is their pet cannot feel anything anymore either because he/she is deeply anesthetized or in many cases he/she is already dead. If things go wrong, like with my sweet boy, the pet will suffer a horrible death gasping for air until he/she dies by asphyxiation. And do you know what this woman said to me after my cat died in this horrible way because of her deadly "mild sedation" injection? "It's better it happened this way because if I was unable to find a vein to give the euthanasia injection intravenously I would have had to give it directly in his stomach"... So for my cat to go through this horrible death and me to be left forever with this image of his last moments I paid this woman, who stayed in my house for approximately 20min, $315...Unfortunately, after all this nightmare and after I shared with other people, a client of mine told me that this same woman, Dr Jennifer Dempsey, had made their cat go through hell poking her multiple times trying to find a vein only to end up giving euthanasia by injection in her abdomen which is a very slow way to die. With so many choices of veterinarians around, why choose putting the health and well being of your beloved pets in the hands of a senseless, horrible human being...? Read Less

I am so thankful for the sweet staff of Alafaya Trail Animal Hospital!! My dog is not a patient of theirs, but they allowed me to board her on the hospital side. They were not only incredibly easy to work with, but were so caring and comforting to both me and my dog. I am so happy I chose to board here, and will absolutely go back when needed. I appreciate how thorough they are with what shots and exams need to be up to date. My dog has a little separation anxiety, yet she looked so happy and was so calm when I picked her up! Of course I’m going to rate this very high as my niece works here. But I must say this is a super clean facility that really cares about your pet(s). They have nothing to hide as you can tour their facility and witness it yourself. If I lived in Florida, I would definitely take my pets here. Read Less

Had to put our beloved 15 year old  Lab down and brought her here. They did not pressure us, but gave us a comprehensive list of options and respected our choice. The room was dim and peaceful and the vet and tech were compassionate and caring. They provided great support. I am so thankful my dogs last moments were in such a lovely and peaceful place. I left my puppy there for eight days this month because of a business travel. A friend of mine would be coming there to pick up the dog in a Saturday morning. Because of that, the attendant and I have agreed that any extra expenses should be covered using my credit card number. My dog arrived there on September 16th and on 20th they called me because the puppy had diarrhea. He did some exams and since then he started taking some medicines and a special food. When my friend arrived there to pick him up the attendant charged her for the exams and the medicines and this was not our agreement. Also, the attendant said to my friend that I left the dog there with diarrhea but this is not true. Otherwise they are not taking the proper care of the dog, because he arrived there on 16th and started taking medicine on 20th. Those facts made me very disappointed. I have chosen this place because it's very close to my house but next time I'll certainly search for another place for him. Read Less

Dr Dupre does not care about your pet, he cares about his busines and his bank account. Your pet is a dollar sign to him and the worst money suck, poor care is the VIP package. If you have a bulldog stay away from this place. And good luck every other pet owner out there Read Less

This review is way overdue but I wanted to share my story with anyone considering taking their pets here.. ive been taking my two pups here for a couple years now and my shih tzu baby before he passed last year. They are always excellent but most importantly they have a staff that really does care.. a few weeks ago on a Friday evening before a holiday mind you, my golden who is petrified of thunder, tried to scurry in a small space in the laundry room and knocked over a can of paint thinner that's ingredient read "volatile organic compounds". Within minutes I had gotten home from work when this all happened. He got the paint thinner all over his paws and they were very red, irritated, and he had been licking them like crazy, ingesting all those toxins. His behavior was very off and it put me in a panic when I called alafaya Trail Animal Hospital only an hour or so before their closing. They were able to see him as soon as I brought him in, fixed him all up and even gave him festive fourth of July bandages for his paws. When I had left it was well over an hour past their closing time and they never rushed through any of his treatment and took amazing care of him. He healed beautifully and it's due to the great staff and care he received. They also fit him in the next few days for rechecks and bandage changes. Having worked in several animal hospital myself, I know the staff and doctors here go above and beyond and that's priceless in my book. Good prices for the services offered. The staff was very knowledgeable and explained exactly what the things going on with my cat were, why they should be treated, and how to treat them. I'm a college student, so money is an issue for me. I felt like the prices they have are justified and affordable, and they did not do anything to my pet without asking me first. As you all know, the Blaidas adopted a dog (Maggie) almost 2 years ago. She had a rough 1st few years of her life (pre Blaidas) and had a ton of anxiety issues. We have been taking Maggie to CDAH from day 1 and I cannot say enough nice things about them - the staff and all the doctors have been SO great with Maggie and with us. We love CAH. After visiting about three more vets (throughout Orlando) we are so glad we found them. Dr. Tribble gives us a ton of info to make educated decisions and doesn't push the most expensive thing on us or the one with the most chemicals. Ie. Our dog had a bit of constipation he told us there were pills but pumpkin would most likely take care of it. We love that as we avoid loading our pup on meds. The staff is also always super nice and knowledgeable. Our pup gets super happy when she sees them. Overall we are very happy with them! We also got got the VIP package which has paid for itself. The best vets around! Everyone who works there is so friendly and helpful, and they really care about our dog. They take all the time needed to explain things to us and our dog loves going there. They always call the day after our visit to see how our dog is doing. The prices are reasonable. Sign up for the VIP program for one flat yearly fee with all visit charges included. A great value. Possibly the worst experience I've had in years. As a business owner I understand the importance of an up sell. But when a client says no. It's no. On my first visit I was pushed the VIP package for $127 not once , twice , three times but four. Again. I'm not upset about an up sell. But no is no. As a medical professional I also am Leary of Trifexis. I've heard stories but didn't know the details. On my first visit they convinced me to go back on it. After speaking to other medical professionals with pets I learned many avoid the brand because of the toxic ingredients that affect the kidneys. So. I went back the next day with a box not even opened. First. The girl behind the desk was slouched and texting someone. And finishing her text was more important than handling my situation. When she did she went in back and told me they have to wait from management to return since it is a prescription. Again. Which I understand. Then she slouched again like life is completely exhausting and had this attitude like I was just too much. I told her. You just lost something huge. I own a bout camp and also work closely with Florida little dog. Rescue. I have over 200 clients and foster dogs and find them homes. I will make sure none of my clients or rescue dogs go to this office.Read Less

I've been taking Tigra (my dog) here for almost 4 years and she is treated like a princess. Whenever I call, they'll know it's for her. Every visit is a positive experience: staff is friendly, doctors are very knowledgeable, and they do not prescribe anything that is not needed.The VIP program is awesome (and it saves a lot of money). $109 a year for unlimited vet visits, 2 baths, and 3 nights of boarding. I don't live as close to this vet anymore, yet it's  still worth the drive for us. Read Less

I have been to several vets around north orlando/winter park area with my moms dog and this is by far my favorite vet. I discovered it when my fiancé and I got our huskies.both of the veterinarians are great, and their vet techs are good also. you can really tell that everyone there love animals and I feel comfortable bringing all my pets there. We love Drs Duprey & Tribble!! They both are so thoughtful to the animals and take their time to thoroughly discuss any issues. I have 3 cats and 2 dogs and all my animals are behaved when with the doctors due to the care and love for them. It's a family oriented practice and they are very practical in their solutions for pet owners. My son (age 6) enjoys coming with me and the doctors educate him while the pets are examined. Read Less

Wow I really can't sing high enough praises about this place. I am SO impressed with how amazing this vet office is. This was my kitten's first visit and the staff made us feel so comfortable. They even had a welcome sign with his name on it that just made my heart melt. They really truly care about their patients. Dr. Tribble was BEYOND helpful and really took so much time explaining everything to me even though I was one of the last appointments in the day. I am so happy to see a veterinarian so passionate about what he does, it really makes a huge impact. I did not feel pressured to purchase anything that was unnecessary and they reviewed many options with me before they carried through with anything. My wife and I have been taking our chocolate lab Chewie to Dr. Lannes and Dr. Duprey since he was a puppy and have been very happy with the service and the staff. Our chocolate lab is a bit on the large size and when he was a puppy he wasn't alway cooperative when one of the doctors needed to check his ears, etc.. Dr. Lannes took the time to show and explain something called control handling (neither myself or my wife knew what it was). She told us to keep doing it for a few weeks or until it became second nature to the dog. Something that simple made a world of difference in our lab's behavior. For the record he was never out of control just hyper because he was a puppy and he has a very active dispostion. When it came time to get him neutered we were a little worried because our lab had cryptorchidism (one testicle did not descend the way it was suppose to). Dr. Duprey did the surgery and went completely out of his way to call us that night (like 730pm-we were grocery shopping at the time) and explain what was done and what was actually found and explain the next steps. Which put us at ease and made us feel a lot better about the procedure. All and all we are very happy with Dr. Lannes and Dr. Dupree. You can tell that they have pets of their own and are very respectful to other pet owners and they genuinely care about the animals well being.Read Less

I have been a loyal client to Alafaya Trail Animal Hospital since 1988 and presently having them care for my 4th and 5th dogs. Recently, one of my dogs came under critical care with them for two weeks. They allowed her to remain home with me to care for her under their close supervision, which meant the world to me. Their care was so personal and determined with daily phone calls, one or two visits a day to them and intense medical treatments. For the past 15+ years we have taken our cats to this veterinary office and have been satisfied with the care that they have received. This vet offers an annual VIP membership that provides discounts for services, several days of boarding, and 2 baths per year. Since we use the services, the VIP membership has been well worth the annual cost of the program. Dr. Lannes, Dr. Colom, and the rest of the staff are absolutely wonderful with our cats. We find the staff personable and have no qualms about leaving our cats for boarding when we are out of town as we know that they will receive excellent care. .Read Less

I have been taking my dog here for about 4 years. At first this was the only vet that was able to treat my dog's allergies and had great customer service. Although pricey, I always felt like it was worth the quality. However, in the last year or so I have had the worst experience! The staff usually has a bad attitude and you can expect to be there at least 2 hours for routine visits. My dog has prescription food and daily allergy pills which is hard enough and they always make things harder on me. I always call in the dog food with plenty of time for them to order it if it's not in stock and ask for them to let me know when it arrives but they never do until I keep calling them. They make me argue with them over getting enough of her prescription to last me and this is something she takes every day, yet they are rarely willing to give me enough. Once I had been at the vet 2 hours, the prescription was wrong, called them back the next day, never fixed it, called a few days later and had to be on and off the phone with them for 30 mins until finally it was corrected. We started bringing our dogs here as we followed Dr Tribble from his previous clinic, and everyone at this practice is very friendly and helpful from reception team to the vet techs. I highly recommend Dr. Tribble specifically, he takes the time to thoroughly examine your pet and is really patient with all your questions... I just came back from my first visit and I couldn't believe how good it was! Everyone was extremely loving and caring. Everything is clean and odorless, which is very impressive. When I initially found this place, I decided on it based on its distance from me and their being open until 6P. I was able to make an appointment quickly without hassle and was pretty impressed by their telephone etiquette. However, when I arrived and my kitten was seen by a doctor, I was spoken to with attitude by not only the nurses on duty, but also the veterinarian. They had my sign an invoice that was supposedly the cost of the first round of shots. While I was at the counter to pay, I was given an invoice for $50 more than the invoice I had originally signed. I was told the nurse mistakenly given me a quote for the wrong set of shots (Although they administered the correct first round, thank goodness) and proceeded to tell me I had to pay the second quote. I was firm in saying the first quote signed will be what I pay, and was told that since I was paying the less expensive first quote, they would not send the Feline Leukemia test out although it was on the first quote. The nurse who made the mistake had a horrible attitude and awful customer service skills. I will never return and hope those reading these reviews will realize this animal hospital is a waste of time, money and peace of mind.Read Less

I completely & whole heartedly DISAGREE with the negative reviews. It is NOT that they are out for a profit - they truly do care & want to offer you all of the options available to you and your pet. I recently had to let go of my 18 year old cat - who I have had since the day she was born. When I brought her in, I was offered options. The doctor gave me the choices available - and did not push. She made sure that I understood what could be done and what the outcomes may be. She even reassured me that making the decision to let go was completely reasonable. She and her tech took me through the entire process with husband and children after business hours so we could be with our cat at the end. That, to me is true compassion for a family during their time of loss.Ultimately, you - the human adult - are the one to make the decisions in the treatment of your beloved pet as you are their voice. Listen to what they tell you & ask questions. If you do not beleive the treatment will benefit your pet you can refuse - no one is twisting your arm. Read Less

Unfortunately, the top priority of doctors and staff is profit. They may care about animals, but only as a means of income. They spread out treatment as long as possible, and make treatment as complex as possible. This is extremely unfair to and hard on the animals. Thus, the total cost becomes excessive and outrageous. I went here because my regular vet was unavailable. What a huge mistake. It ended up costing me 1200 for a constipated cat. That is utterly disgraceful. They also consistently make you wait a long time. They knew I was coming to pick up my cat and made me wait between 10 and 15 minutes. In the several times I was there, only once was the table in the examining room clean and free from other animals' hair. That does not seem very sanitary to me. The doctor who supposedly cared for my cat is young and probably needs to go back to school. If you value your pet, stay away! I wish I had paid attention to some of the other negative reviews. I have lived all over the country and had pets for more than 20 years. I have been extremely impressed with everyone I have come into contact with at Alafaya Trail. My dog had been vomiting all night and I was starting to get worried so I called them. The lady on the phone was very nice and got me in that morning even though they were busy. Dr Lannes was very gentle with Star and asked a lot of questions. She needed lab tests and x-rays (which aren't cheap) but we figured out she has an irritated pancreas and needed a special diet and some medications. My visit wasn't cheap (~$500) but they figured out what was wrong and got her feeling better quickly. I was given estimates every step and they even helped me pick a food that wasn't as expensive! I would def recommend them if your pet's care is your #1 priority. Read Less

I took my pet Patches into Alafaya Trail Animal Hospital for her annual checkup. I had never been there before. Everyone was super friendly and the doctor and nurse treated Patches like she were their own pet. They were sensitive to the fact that she was nervous and took their time with her. I was just so pleased that they were considerate and cared about their customers, especially in a world that seems to have forgotten the meaning of customer service. I will definetly recommend Alafaya Trail Animal Hospital to any of my friends and family. They were great!! Read Less
