We love Oviedo Animal Hospital - the entire staff is warm kind and so good with my 2 sweet pups. We have been going to Dr. Wiseman for many years and we always feel like we are in the best of hands. I recently became a resident of Oviedo and as a result needed to change vets to one closer to my residence.  After some Yelp research I determined Oviedo Animal Hospital would be the place.When I called to make an appointment the lady on the phone was very nice and friendly. First impressions are lasting ones.  The morning I brought my pup in, the receptionist greeted him by his name. Reminder, he is a new patient. I was very impressed with the customer service. The best vet in town hands down. Very warm and welcoming staff and super accommodating. Dr. Hobbs is a very genuine person who not only cares about the wellness of all animals, but also takes the time to ask you how your day is and connect with you on a personal level. I took my three dogs in at the same time for the influenza shot as well as other vaccines and concerns and Dr. Hobbs rocked. Their prices are unbeatable and their clinic is very clean. Although I love the people working there, especially Dr. Wiseman and Nancy, I feel they have displayed their overall ignorance to me one too many times and my animals have suffered longer than they should because of it. This place is chaotic and unorganized which is aggravating when you have a dog misbehaving and it takes 10 minutes to check out/pay. I had just rescued a possibly abused dog and expressed concern with how she had been acting and some symptoms she'd been having, they had made me feel as if I was stupid for asking such ridiculous things. They also did a poor exam of her after expressing some concern about her eating habits. I left annoyed and belittled and checked her myself and I found 2 broken/rotted teeth myself (not bad for not going to vet school huh?) afterwards and went to another vet who treated me much better who gave me options to resolve it and didn't make me feel dumb.Read Less

really upset with this place. They charged me for services before asking if I wanted them- ive never had a vet clinic do this ever. They just wanted to charge more and more it seems. They did things to my pet in the back without my permission or knowledge- that's just not right. Everyone conveniently had different stories on what happened. They did some unnecessary things which made no sense. They talk a lot and in circles- because they think people are unintelligent and won't notice what they're doing. When I questioned them the vet tech got rude loud and confrontational. Any question you have about anything- the vet tech becomes rude and angry and gives you a terrible attitude about it. Then they hounded me about my ID for carecredit acting as if they needed to verify I was who I said I was. Excuse me? Ive been to many clinics and no one did this or acted this way. The lady was asking me for my drivers license number. Seriously? It was so rude and insulting. Even banfield doesn't do this to people. They treat clients not good. I called Oviedo Animal Hospital pretty desperate when my dog suddenly stopped walking on her own or eating and drinking. The staff immediately got me in and couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating during our visit. Dr. Hobbs was AMAZING and so kind. She took the time to take me in to the back and show me the detailed scans and explain exactly what was going on and then referred me to specialists to help with further treatment. I called later that evening to say that my dog had eaten some food on her own and Dr. Hobbs took the time to call back after hours to tell me what a good sign that was. The staff then called first thing the next morning to check on my dog and also on me (I had left pretty hysterical the day before after seeing the scans) and the woman on the phone was so kind and understanding. I loved that their office not only cared about my dogs well being but also mine. We found our new Vet for life and couldn't be happier. I HIGHLY recommend this office.Read Less

After spending 10 years in the veterinary field, I was wary of finding a new veterinarian once we moved to Florida. I have 6 pets, and 5 are seniors and would be needing more constant care. Finding good care is hard to come by for your pets especially when you know the inner workings of the veterinary business. I had concerns about my cat Hannah, and brought her to Dr. Wiseman for a full exam. It was a devastating diagnosis of stage 4 kidney disease (immediate in-house labs allowed for a same hour diagnosis), but Dr. Wiseman allowed us to do everything we wanted, or didn't want to do. Nothing was ever forced on us. No scary veterinary language was ever used. He helped me make her as comfortable as possible over her last 10 weeks (including at home fluids, injectable medications, etc. They ordered medication for me without any issues -- they saw Hannah sometimes within 30 minutes of me calling that she wasn't well). Our care also included almost weekly phone calls from the staff on Tuesdays to inquire about how she was feeling, eating, drinking, behaving, etc. The decision was made once Hannah reached total renal failure to put her down and Dr. Wiseman put her down very comfortably on a Monday morning at 8am, and even took a final paw print for me to keep), OAH was very respectful, sent a card, called to say how sorry they were, etc. I don't know of many animal hospitals that provide the sort of personal care and services that OAH does. The staff knows you and all your pets the second you walk in. Dr. Wiseman has called me himself when one of my dogs died suddenly from a hemangiosarcoma (he had not seen that dog yet for an exam) and discussed what caused his death, reassuring me that's what it was and we didn't need an expensive necropsy. Absolutely amazing.More recently, Dr. Wiseman has been taking care of my cat Teegan who suddenly started having vestibular issues. He saw us within 2 hours of an 8am Saturday phone call. Even for something as simple as a small cyst on my dogs head, Dr. Wiseman was prompt, respectful and friendly. Dr. Wiseman and his staff are absolutely amazing, fair and accommodating. The office is clean, modern and fresh. Everyone is polite, and helpful. I will not take my pets anywhere else except to Oviedo Animal Hospital. Read Less

Dr. Wiseman has always taken care of my family's dogs. He has always been very caring & accurate in his care. Everyone in the hospital is very kind and helpful. I owe an outstanding amount of praise to doctor Wiseman for the dignity and strength he showed me and my beloved senior dog today. I had to put him down and Doctor Wiseman was so kind, gentle, understanding, and loving towards my dog and I. I can't tell you how much it meant to me that him and his staff let me come in the back door, take my time, and let me weep over the loss of my beloved Louie.  He told me everything he was doing, gave me time to digest, and I could tell he really hated having to let my baby go to peace. Dr. Wiseman and his staff are the best. When we go away for cruises we will board our old black lab dog and I swear they are doing something right because he is always so excited and becomes a puppy when we take him there. He runs into the place as if he is a celebrity and everyone knows and greets him by name. It probably helps that he knows exactly where they keep the treats! Whenever he has health issues they always treat him and make sure we r well educated and prepared before we leave. And they always call and check in on him after too. I am a new client with this vet and decided to board our dogs with them for the weekend.. We have two dogs and my parents have two dogs.. From the moment we went in to board it was one misconception to another. The front desk was completely unorganized and could not handle I taking more than one dog. It was complete chaos and I was starting to worry about leaving my dogs. I asked several times if they would be together and by my parents dogs and I was told they would be. When we came to pick them up there was the same front desk personal who was frantic and unorganized and all over the place. They almost forgot to give us our shot records back and the distrust they placed by acting unsure of if my dogs were together.. I still do not know if they were. Then we asked what the charge was for a shot was told a price the. When we picked them up there was hidden fees. I will not be taking them there ever again I can not trust them with my animals at their boarding facility. Read Less

I have been going here for a little over a year now and I have had nothing but pleasant experiences with Dr. Wiseman and his crew. First of all the receptionists are very sweet and pleasant and make sure you are well taken care of. The other day I brought my cat in and she must have panicked in the car because she peed in her carrier. I felt awful but the receptionists were quite understanding. The nurses cleaned up my cat and even cleaned out her carrier for me. I logged on Yelp to get Dr. Wiseman's phone number and thought I'd add my review. We've used this vet for over 15 years.  The best part is that it's at the same vet-not an big clinic, so we get to know each other and our pets.  I feel his first line of defense is not a battery of test, but good ol' know how. I appreciate his experience!  My daughter goes to another vet out of state, and her vet doesn't seem to have this level of experience--always prescribing expense medicines and products. I took my dog to this hospital for lab work and possible neuter surgery, and was extremely disappointed. First of all, I wanted them to do the lab work and give me a call how it went and after that I would give them my consent for surgery or any other procedures required. As I thought, my dog's blood does not clot. So no surgery was done today. They did call me back. However, on my bill they added Pre-Anesthetic Profile (that I did not ask for) and Examination (that I did not ask for - I got him checked the other month at a different clinic). The doctor did not know the reason for the blood abnormality, no he knew how to treat it or what consequences it can bring in future. The receptionist scheduled another blood test with me in 2 weeks, saying that they want to see if the results will change by themselves. I had this test done before on my dog (and I told them about it), so what is the point in another test in 2 weeks without any treatments??? The receptionist (Deanna) saw my point and went to consult the doctor. He ended up prescribing some pills that I was never explained how they work. When I asked questions, receptionists were trying to take a guess. Then Deanna gave me 30 pills and said that they should be taken once a day for 2 weeks. So asked her: "Why do I need 30 then? Maybe it should be given twice a day??" Deanna was confused, and the other receptionists started helping her with guesses WHY there are 30 pills instead of 15. They said that this medication (for $16! (cheap right)) is so strong that the dog can't stop taking it after 2 weeks, he will have to continue taking it afterwards and gradually get off it. One of their guesses earlier was that this medication (PREDNISOLONE) is enhancing immune system. In that case, did you ever die after forgetting taking a vitamin?? So anyway, no answers were given, my bill was $220, and later at home I read the invoice with the following: "YOUR PET HAD PRE-SURGICAL LABORATORY TEST DONE..............WE ARE PLEASED TO INFORM YOU THAT THE RESULTS WERE WITHIN NORMAL LIMITS AND THEREFORE A GOOD SURGICAL CANDIDATE" WHAT??? I believe the results do not matter, they just give the same identical paper to everybody. In the bottom of page there were the following instructions: "YOUR PET HAS BEEN PRESCRIBED A CORTISONE MEDICATION..." WHAT?? First time I found out about some CORTISONE medication that apparently my dog got prescribed. Is it the same as the medication above or they confused something, I do not even know anymore. My trust is gone. If anybody knows good vets, please let me know! Read Less

I have not taken my cats to this clinic, as I have Dr. Califf from Downtown Pet Hospital do house calls.  During his visit today, he recommended trying a special diet (prescription needed) for my cat because I was not interested in diagnostic tests and medication at this time.  I needed this food right away and Oviedo Animal Hospital is much closer to my home than Dr. Califf's office, so I took the prescription there to be filled.  Jean, the woman who took care of my request, was friendly and helpful.  The resident cats, Iris (probably spelled eyeris because she is missing one of her eyes) and Opie, greeted me as I waited for paperwork to be completed.  My experience was so pleasant that I would take my cats there if I didn't have to coax, push, pull, and fold them up to get them into their cat carriers. My beautiful loving 4 yr old HEALTHY dig died after a simple neutering procedure recently. This vet is horrible. His staff was too busy to monitor him and he gave a recalled anesthesia twice to my little one and he DIED. I have never seen such horrible and terrible mistakes. He wouldn't show me the lot number of the vial he used and he said he did not keep a log of his narcotics used for these procedures. These animals are IN DANGER. Be aware. They are very anxious to get a procdure done for your loved one but neglect the animal and many have ""barley woken up"" from the anesthesia he uses. I have spoke to many people in the Oviedo area and they all say the same thing. Dr. Wiseman and his staff need to close shop. Stop the murders of innocent animals for money. He charged me full price also---even though my little one died! How sick is that? Plus he said to me"" many people die from anesthesia---what do you want from me? you can't bring him back"" How unprofessional and aweful. PLEASE do NOT go here. It is an aweful place. The staff are incompetant----they leave the post-surgical animals alone ----after the entubation tube is out ---they can die! BE AWARE! Read Less

My animals actually look forward going to the vet at this place! I've been taking my kitten there ever since he was born, and that was over a year ago. My 2 dogs absolutely LOVE the Doctor. He gives them hugs and good back scratches when he sees them and they LOVE him for it. Office is very clean, you wouldn't know it was a vet office if you were blind. They are fast and efficient, and there isn't one person in the office that doesn't have a smile on their face when you see them. So whether you're there to introduce your pet as a new member or the unfortunate passing away of your loved fuzzy, they are treated like a loved family member. Read Less
