Dr fondren is the best. She's not cheap but you get what you pay for. She is very very attentive and hands on with her "client". Have a bacterial infection on my Yellow labs skin that no other vet has handled correctly. The team at Fondren Pet Care goes above and beyond for the animals in their care. I've had 3 challenging pets whom they have gone out of their way to care for. They've come in early, stayed late and even come in on holidays just to help one of my special needs babies. At one point I thought about changing vets due to a former staff member (I'm guessing the reason for the bad reviews) but just couldn't change knowing my furbabies were getting the best care. From wellness visits to dental, the team is outstanding and I highly recommend them especially if you want personalize attention at a fair price. Absolute horrific experience from the first phone call, after getting my Pomeranian puppy from a private breeder and scheduling her next vaccine appointment a month out at this vet office, my puppy had an emergency visit to a vet hospital while we traveled and was given an antibiotic for a COLD - upper respiratory infection and given antibiotics to be exact; I was told by the hospital to follow up with my vet just to make sure she was better later on. When I called this office back-JoAnn answered with an extremely rude attitude as if she didn't even want to answer their phone and then stated to tell me she wasn't even sure if they could see or care for my dog if my dog may have a flu after I told her she seemed to be fine and doing a lot better and continued to ask very unnecessary questions that had nothing to do with why I was calling and in continuing of cutting off my answering to these questions being very very rude. Needless to say, I cancelled my vaccine appointment and will NOT be contacting them ever again for further care. A dog is something very important to a human and we care for them as our own so I do not recommend ANYONE bringing their lovely pet to this facility for any purpose or care. I have used Dr. Fondren and her staff for over 15 years. While this hard to write I think it is important to mention the exceptional care that my beloved "Charley" and myself received when it was time to send "Charley'" on his journey to the rainbow bridge.  Dr. Fondren was very gentle and respectful in caring for Charley. She stayed long after the office closed (3 hours) to not only make Charley comfortable till the end but also to help me come to the painful decision that it was best for him to let him go and after he had passed, she stayed with me till I was ready to leave. It was past 9pm when she finally left for the day, and it was her birthday.  What a remarkable doctor with an eaqually remarkable staff who was crying as much as I was. It's been 10 months and I'm happy to say that I have adopted a new puppy, who will be under Dr. Fondren's care for his lifetime, I wouldn't consider anyone else. Read Less

Dr. Fondren & her staff are amazing!!!  I first used her in the Fall of 2008 when I had a feeling that the local vet practice in PBG my family had gone to for over 30 years was missing something.  My gut instinct was correct - there was something wrong with my 10 year old Bengal - skin cancer.  Dr. Fondren had a great list of specialists she referred me to see if there was any hope as his cancer had advanced.  He was in her care for about the last 5 months of his life.  I love that she is so direct & appreciate her honesty.  She & her staff were so compassionate & caring.  I found a great vet at the end of my first fur child's life which is very sad but I was so impressed by them.  They even sent me a sympathy card & really understood what he meant to me.  I would not only recommend Dr. Fondren but I would only go to Dr. Fondren if I ever decided to get another fur child.  Four years later (Oct. 2012) we were ready to love another fur child & got a new Bengal kitten.  He has been seeing Dr. Fondren his entire life & he is almost 5 years old.  Dr. Fondren is the same caring & compassionate person I first meet in 2008 & many of her staff are still there.  I think that speaks volumes about her & her staff.  We see them monthly for nail trims & every 6 months for his check-ups.  This practice goes above & beyond.  It does nice little things like mailing pet themed birthday cards to your pet & decorating extensively for the holidays.  In past years, they have done a Halloween Haunted House with donations that go to a military/service dog charity.  If you want an excellent vet for your furry children - this is the place! I just moved to Florida from the west coast a few months ago, just me and my 2 cats Pumpkin and Ginger. I didn't even know anyone in the area and my sweet 17 years old Pumpkin got very sick. I was devastated. I found Dr. Fondren on Yelp and when I read the reviews I knew they would be good. I went in this past Friday. When I went in, I had been crying all day because I knew something was seriously wrong with precious Pumpkin. I cried through the whole exam and Dr. Fondren and her excellent team made me feel comfortable and nurtured. It ended up being the most difficult of my life as it was time for Pumpkin to go to heaven. I felt like my heart was shattering into a million pieces. I had such an amazing relationship with Pumpkin that imagining life without him is overwhelming. They helped me send Pumpkin off to heaven with such grace and kindness and dignity for him. They brought him warm blankets to soothe and nurture him and gave me all the time I needed to hold my sweet boy and say goodbye to my best friend. I want to thank Dr. Fondren, her excellent staff from the kind vet techs to the wonderful front desk lady (I'm sorry as I have forgotten her name.) We have a rescue dog for about two months We were referred to "The Best Vet Ever", so we took our little sick guy to Dr Mary Fonder Pet Care Center. I have known Dr Fondren for most of my life, however it was not until she helped me save a dying puppy that I truly saw her care and compassion for what she does. The puppy she helped my save is now a beautiful 10 year old vizsla, Coco. In the past year Dr Fondren's diligence has once again saved my girl's life. If it wasn't for her being extra cautious, a large tumor in her spleen (thankfully benign) could have been missed/overlooked leaving the risk of it rupturing at any time. When that happens, there is little they can do to save them. I trust Dr Fondren explicitly. The entire team there is just incredible and always treat Coco as if she was their own!! Read Less

This is by far the best veterinarian office I have ever been to. It was a week before I was leaving town for a month. I was going to be leaving my dog with family. I came home one afternoon to have my sweet little dog greet me with her usual excitement and suddenly she starts violently sneezing. It didn't stop and it got so bad that she was spraying blood. I was so scared and nervous and then the thought of leaving her. I had never been to this vet before. I called and asked if they could see us. They had us come right away and were waiting for us at the door and escorted us to a private room (just incase she had something contagious) Well that private room was like a little study at home.. It was so comfortable that my dog and I were quite relaxed. ALL of the staff were kind, gentle, caring and concerned. I was immediately put to ease. Tests were run quickly and the costs were very reasonable. Dr. Fondren even called in the evening to see how my little girl was doing. Dr Fondren did not care about our pet, only how much money she can get out of us. Made us run useless test after useless test. She played on me and my wifes emotions, making us feel like we were bad pet owners if we did not get all these tests. She took us for over one thousand dollars and our dog is still in the same condition. Went to a different vet and found out just how much Dr Fondren missed! New vet charged us a mere $280 (including surgery!) and our pet is feeling much better! Dr Fondren only cares about the money in your wallet, not the pet you love!
