If you are looking for a groomer for your canine baby, Holly is the professional groomer at Gardens Animal Hospital that you will want to meet.  She has been grooming my Giant Schnauzer for six years, and she does a wonderful job.  My "baby" is now in her advanced senior years and has arthritis and growths, but Holly understands her limitations and is able to groom her beautifully. Dr. Ciucci and her team are fantastic!  My two rescue dogs have always received the best care from the entire staff, and I'm very impressed with the clean and bright facility. Additionally, the follow-up concern demonstrated by the veterinarians is further evidence of their dedication.   Everyone makes certain that all my questions are answered and they take my comments into consideration (meaning they don't dismiss what I am saying because I'm not a veterinarian).  I'm new to the area and started bringing the boys to GAH because of a recommendation from someone else. I needed a place to board my dog and found this place on Groupon. The deal was four days three nights. That included a bath, nails and ears. I also requested his teeth be cleaned for an extra $7. I made the appointment a month a head and called the day before to confirm. I only found out that day, I couldn't pick him up on Memorial Day because they were closed. I mentioned that when I picked him up and I wasn't charged. No hidden fees, just the teeth cleaning I had to pay for when I picked him up. Everyone was so friendly and I really felt like I could trust them to care for my child. I also liked that they sent me a picture of him everyday. Which made me miss him even more. I recently moved and was referred here from a specialty vet. My cat Leo recently developed a lump and it was growing quickly. My first thought was that it may be a lipoma. However, I was concerned it may be cancer because the same thing happened to my dog Rocky a couple years ago, and it ended up being cancer. Today I saw Dr. Carroll & Alexis. They were both great! They aspirated the lump and thankfully it’s just a lipoma. I like that, if need be, they are capable of surgically removing the lipoma on site. Leo also has frequent skin itching & breakouts. It needs to be determined if it’s an allergic reaction or something else. I will be able to get the allergy test and blood work done here as well. I’ve had a very good experience here so far. I adopted my puppy from “A second chance puppies and kittens” and this is one of the vet offices that work with the organization. Since the moment I brought him in they have all been very caring and compassionate. They’re informative about any vaccines that the puppy needed, and worked with me about what was best for my individual dog. I’m very happy/satisfied with all the services we’ve received here and it makes me happy to know that they work with nonprofit organizations like the one I adopted my guy from. Also, Each time I come in I always have my three children with me and at the very first visit they had all kinds of little things for them too!! From stickers to a treasure box to coloring pages - they were so happy and it was great to have those extra things to help them through the appointment. I had rescued 2 kittens and they are now old enough to get neutered and spayed and the vet that had done their shots was estimating about $400 each which is an incredible expense for someone that didn't plan to keep the rescues but didn't have the heart to put them on the street. So I shopped around for a better price. Gardens has a great reputation as a clinic and as a place that does a lot of rescue work. I received a quote from the lady at the office via telephone of about $150-200 each and just that they needed a consultation first which I expected to be a vet visit fee. I was pressed for time trying to get the surgery done sooner than later so I took off work to take the cats for the consult and they checked out all healthy and could do the surgery quickly but required blood work on perfectly healthy 6 month old cats in order to operate and I could choose to do it that day or day of the surgery. I chose to get it done then since I was already there and it only took few min. Needless to say no one said anything about a charge and I suddenly walked out with 2 vet visit fees and 2 blood work fees totaling over $250. This was a Tuesday. I was told that once the blood work came back the estimator would call me with the final cost of the spay and neuter. Let it also be know that the vet made it clear they were doing other rescues that same day (bet they didn't pay $250 for blood work), the surgery takes 7 min max, and that I should buy the microchip which would $30 each. Wednesday when the call came in I was told  $280-$360 for the boy without and with chip and $340-$410 for the girl without and with the chip. I told the lady I was quoted $200 each and already paid $250 so how was this possible??!!! Also if I was told the chip was an extra $30 how did it become a gap of $70-$80??!!!!She said she would talk back with the estimator and give me a call back since I was supposed to bring the cats in Friday morning for surgery. Long story long, they never called back, never cared to reach out, didn't mind that they lied or want to honor their quote and didn't feel the least bit bad about trying to run me up $1000 bill for something quoted at $400. Sadly I have nothing but disgust for this place and I can't believe they never even reached out to wonder why I didn't show up for the spay/neuter on Friday let alone call me back with pricing. What a scam this was and I can't believe I thought this place was caring. We were looking for a new place to call home for our 3 dogs 2 which are older dogs. We recently about a month ago made an appointment for our 3 dogs we went in and we're amazed on how caring and loving the staff was you can see that they really care. We first saw Dr. Headricks who we loved she was personable and so nice. Our 11 year old dog rocky had a large lump on his back hind leg which was tested and came back as a mast tumor he just had surgery done today to remove it and did great. Dr. Carroll did the surgery and did an amazing job she took the time out to come in and speak with us when we picked him up. He was even wagging his tail when he came in the room to go home. Very poor Yesterday I went there with my 16 year old Dachund just to express the anal glands. (Last season I went there several times with my 2 dogs) But now they want to see at first the dog's passport with a valid Vaccination against Rabbies (I'm German and we come back into the country in Nov. 2016 and so our dogs never would get into the country without this Vaccination!) that I'm able to understand but second: than they wanted to examine the the dog before expressing the anal glands. That's just moneymaking and at least not helpful for my puppy. I own her for 16 years and I know her belongings very exactly. I'm so upset about this behavior that I've to write this bad rewiew. I have been taking my dog Sonny to Gardens Animal Hospital for the past 2 years. He is typically in boarding and daycare a minimum of 5 days every month while I travel for work. I always know he is in great hands while he is there. Dr Ciucci identified a cracked tooth Sonny had during a routine checkup last year and removed it before a serious infection could occur. Her staff kept me updated throughout the entire process. While in boarding and daycare I receive photos every few days of Sonny via email. Gardens animal hospital (Lisa the owner especially) are the sole reason our Shi Tzu is alive. Long story short our shi tzu Bristol developed a back issue which caused her to no longer be able to walk. She was in severe pain and immobile. After taking her to a neurologist, we were under the impression that we could either elect for a 6k dollar surgery or put her down. Neither of those options were possible for us. After discussing the issue with Lisa, she gave us new hope. She didnt make any promises due to the severe condition of Bristol, but with the exceptional care and follow up treatment, Bristol is back to 100%. We are truly grateful and thankful for Lisa and Gardens Animal hospital. We trust her and Gardens Animal Hospital with both of our current dogs and any future animals we will have in the future. A couple months back, my 3 yr old dog started acting strange; he was unable to walk, vomiting and collapsed to the ground, shaking uncontrollably. I took him to Gardens Animal Hospital immediately, where he is established as a patient. They ran some tests but ultimately were unable to determine what was wrong. They instructed me to video tape it and bring him back if it happened again. Well unfortunately today, it happened again. As soon as I noticed the signs I rushed him to Gardens Animal Hospital and called to let them know I was coming. I was already parked in front of the hospital when they told me over the phone to take him somewhere else. The Dr. refused to see him and suggested I go to an emergency hospital instead. I could not believe what was happening. They told me to bring him back if this happened and when I did they turned me away? It goes without saying I will no longer be trusting this practice with my dogs well-being. Thankfully my dog is better now. I only hope other people looking for someone to care for their pets will read this, to avoid being turned away in an emergency, and possibly experiencing a much more devastating outcome. Read Less

Our lab, Shelby, loves spending her days at the Club for doggie daycare. She gets so excited to see the staff every morning. I feel better knowing my puppy is having fun and socializing with other dogs while I am at work. All of the employees are friendly and caring. You can tell they truly love dogs! Shelby has also been seen for her routine visits and spaying at Gardens Animal Hospital. The reception staff, techs, and vets are all knowledgable and professional. Make sure you ask what the total price is going to be before you leave your pets.  Dropped them off for grooming which was $65 each and ended up with a $345 bill because they required bortatella and fecal test. My mistake for not asking what the total cost but it is a Big leap from $130 to $345 ... and just for the record bortatella and fecal test are not required for grooming at Petco. Given the cost involved I would have expected that the clinic would have beenMore forthcoming.  That is generally the difference when the object is profit and not customer satisfaction. I want only the best for my cats and dogs, they're furry family members.  We've gone through things as simple as a cat with a cold to a dog with a ruptured anal gland (and everything in between!) and over the years couldn't be happier with the care we've received from Dr Ciucci. Dr. Ciucci will go over everything with you in a way you can understand with options and recommendations, you never feel as though you are being forced into something and you feel comfortable asking as many questions as you need to.The staff at Gardens are friendly and always ready to help from the reception area to the vet techs. The front office is clean and inviting, the seating is comfortable and very roomy so if you have a pet that feels better not being near other animals there is room to do that.  The exam rooms are great! Again, very clean and spacious so you don't feel like you're in an elevator. Two other great features at Gardens Animal Hospital are the doggy day care area, better known as "The Club," and the boarding kennels. The Club has a fun nautical theme and is a great place for small and big dogs to hang out and socialize. The boarding kennels have recently been renovated and are so much better than the  concrete and chain link door ones that were there previously. It's easy to see how Dr. Ciucci and staff at Gardens Animal Hospital want your pet to be safe and comfortable for however long they are staying. The office location is great because it is just off of I-95 so easy to get to whether you're coming from the North or South.Dr. Ciucci is also a HUGE supporter of animal rescue and works with local rescues to keep the foster animals healthy and gets them ready for adoption. When you visit the office you can usually find a cat or some kittens in the lobby that are being fostered by the office. I am compelled to share my unpleasant experience today with this clinic. I have been before to see the vet Dr Ciucci who was very pleasant. My dogs annals were expressed and I was told every month I would need to have this done. A week ago I personally drove over to the vet to ask them to inquire what else I could do to perhaps figure out if anything else could be causing my dog to scoot his butt and bite at his rear end. They originally told me his anal glands were up high and not getting expressed well.  I never received a call back. Then I phoned again several days later on a Friday to inquire again. No phone call back. Today a week later I again drove down to the clinic with a stool sample that I collected after seeing white strands in it. When I entered the clinic I spoke with a very haughty confrontational tech/receptionist and explained I had been waiting for a response to my questions. I told her I brought a stool sample. I also told her my dog was eating a raw diet by Primal. She went nuts telling me how the diet was the problem   and I needed to give my dog their prescription dog food with processed protein content and went on and on about how no vet recommends a raw food diet.. I told her many vets recommend it but she didn't believe me.. I told her I disagree with her approach and suggested she research a well balanced raw food diet. There are many out there, Primal, Natures variety, Stella and Chewys etc.. I felt I was talking to a brainwashed industry controlled mind rather than an educated person looking to enrich her knowledge. My family own a horse farm, have over 15 dogs, 2 monkeys, birds, ferrets and more, and every one of their breeders up north only recommend a raw food diet for all their dogs.  For this tech/receptionists information, here are just a few vets who support a raw food diet:1. Harmony animal hospital2. ABCDE animal clinic3. Stuart animal hospitalSo I left this clinic and went straight to another to have her stool tested. She had a severe infestation of tapeworms!  Maybe all along it was the worms and not the annals. We took our little dog there for years and they always took excellent care of him. Very nice, clean and professional. Last week we realized his time with us had come, and we had to take him there for the last time. We arrived and were greeted promptly and taken to a private treatment room where Dr. Ciucci examined him and confirmed our fears. It was time to end his suffering. She discussed all options and possible treatments with us.  She did the procedure with Biscuit in our arms. She was very comforting and understanding. They arranged for a private cremation and the return of his ashes to us. They did not even request payment at that time. We picked up the remains yesterday in a very nice little box with his name on the back. It was in a velvet draw string bag. This was a very trying and emotional experience. So. My worst fear came true.  My little sweet innocent Yorkie got injured.  Me being an overprotective mom, I swallowed my rage--while  his daddy searched the phone book for a real GREAT Animal Hospital. I did not know what was wrong with Bow- just that his little paw was very tender, bleeding, and he was limping. We found this place- and let me tell you, they were quick- and helped Bowie as soon as we got there. The Vet was very sweet to him- and told me he only broke a nail all the way up to the quick, and that he had to remove the split nail. He gave him a little doggie relaxer and did the job- sent me on my way with an antibiotic.   136.00 later- --Bowie is all patched up with a cute little soft cast on his little paw.CLEAN. VERY clean place- which I'm a stickler for.  It's located in a PLAZA on the SOUTH side of Northlake blvd if that helps.   very friendly- very fast.  He calmed me down with his soothing voice- which at the time- I desperately needed a doggie downer....  I could have used one for myself- trust me.  It all turned out so good, I had to write a review. :) Read Less
