Dr South is amazing and the staff is fantastic too!I take my dog's health, wellbeing and quality of life very seriously and I spare no expense. When I first moved to Florida from New York three years ago with my Yellab, I went to a different vet because they were the closest. Huge mistake. He was two at the time and loved every human and dog and even cat (although the felines mostly did not reciprocate) he ever met and loved going to our vet back in New York. The first appointment at my new vet down here he was very traumatized and by the second visit he had to be dragged to the exam room every time. It broke my heart. When I decided enough was enough and switched to Town and Country after hearing so many great things about them, I mentioned to them that my  dog had developed a bigtime aversion to my last vet, and they handled it perfectly. Their entire focus during my first visit was in making sure the experience was a positive one for my dog-tons of treats, patience and affection. He had had chronic ear infections for months by this time and didn't want anyone, even me, near his ears. He constantly shook his head because it was bothering him so much, but both the staff and Dr. South were so compassionate and accomodating that he now has no fear whatsoever of his new vet! That means the world to a devoted dog parent like me. Our dog is 13 years old and ready to go. We took her to vet to have a humane and dignified end. This vet was verbally abusive and refused to honor our wishes. He screamed and yelled at us and tried to make us feel guilty. He was incredible unprofessional  and rude and A disservice to the profession.I've had to put several animals down and have never ever encountered such an in compassionate individual in my life. If you are looking for a place to bring your animal, this is it.. Dr. South has been taking care of our dogs for many years. We were in a situation 5 years ago with our dog and we needed to let her go. I will never forget how compasionate Dr. South was and let us stay with her and say goodbye until she was asleep. He had been her vet for a couple of years prior. When we walked in with our rescue puppies he and some of his staff ( Cee being one of them ) acted almost as excited as we were . My husband and I are so greatful for him and we know that he will always do the best for our fur family members. He did a thorough exam, was very professional, was very considerate to me and took amazing care of my pup! And the staff was amazing as well! Dr. South is by far the best vet that I have ever taken my sweet Delilah to. He is extremely diligent and always provides the best care. I live about four hours away. Anytime my girl is feeling blue I take a trip home to Gardens to see him (and family, too). Last summer I thought she was doomed. Dr. South turned things around for us by pinpointing what was really ailing her. He has given her more time than I originally thought she had-and my cat is an old gal.
