Animal Emergency & Urgent CareHated itThis place is owned and operated by DR. Jean McKnight If you love your animal NEVER go here. At 12:30am I was awakened to by my dog Jack as he fell against the side of my bed. I turned on the light to see his head cocked as he tried to get up and again fell t. I called my vet Dr Pola an amazing Dr at Enterprise Road Animal Hospital, his message spoke of the 24hour emergency clinic at Curlew and 19, Dr McKnights facility. Carrying my 57 pound blue tick/beagle I drove as fast as I dared as he seemed to be having mini seizures. When I arrived the nurse had just finished mopping, watched me get out of my car carrying my dog and went inside, not bothering to hold the door or help in any way. A I got through the outside door to see her standing watching as my dog was having mini seizures. This nurse stated she had just mopped the floor and be careful not to slip and to go through the next door to an examining room on the left. She again watched as I struggled through the 2nd door. She came into the room and had me place Jack on the examining table, he was struggling to stand, couldn't and was still having mini seizures. She watched doing nothing, but wanted me to fill out paperwork. I said maam, this is an emergency, its 12:45 in the morning, can we do the paperwork after you and the doctor stabilize my dog, she calmly said NO. So, after we filled out the paperwork, Dr Reddy came in. He did an anal probe, I have no idea why, he was falling over to his left, there was nothing up his butt that would make him do that. He performed a physical, checked Jacks eyes, ears and heart and decided to draw blood. Jack was coming aroung by now, an hour or so after we had arrived. The Dr and the nurse asked if they could take Jack to the next room to draw blood and would bring him right back, It was obvious Jack was scared, (don't ever trust or allow them to take your pet to another room without you seeing what they are doing). They came back and I asked where Jack was, they had put him into a small cage where he couldn't stand up. It was metal on the sides and bottom with a screen on the front. They said they put him there while they waited for the blood work to be done. Jack could wait with me and at least I could comfort him. That was a disgusting place to put my family member. Dr Reddy explained the same things over and over again of what wasn't wrong, he obviously was inexperienced or just a poor vet. I didn't care what wasn't wrong with my dog, I was concerned with what was...duh! Jack lay on the floor and it looked as though he were getting electric shocks, he would completely spasm for 20-30 seconds, stop and then start again. Dr Reddy and his nurse just stood there watching, frozen. I said for God sakes you're a vet do something!! Nothing. Dr Reddy then told me that Jack more than likely has a lesion/tumor in his brain or on his spinal cord and that I will need to take him to a neurologist for an ultra sound. There wasnothing more he could do except prescribe, antibiotic, prednisone and valium. He suggested shots, He gave Jack 3 shots in the fur on the back of his neck and then apparently a large dose of valium in the vein on Jacks left front leg. It took Dr Reddy several tries, he even swapped out the needle once before he managed to draw back blood and then inject. Jack seized and convulsed severly, I lay on the floor keeping his head from banging the cement, the chair or the wall while again the Dr and the nurse just stood there like bumps on a log watching. They offered no help nor assistance while my dog had a severe reaction to the the shot they had just given. I was floored. Dr Reddy suggested I stay on the floor with Jack preventing him from banging into something and hurting himself while he and the nurse left. The nurse came back with the bill $651.00. I met with Dr McKnight 2 days later, I now see why my dog got the treatment he did. Never ever go there, ever if you care for your pet. My groomer shared a similar story about this facility. They then checked me out on linked in. Read Less
