Dr. Smith and staff are wonderful. A few months ago I rescued a stray kitty. I was able to get him crated on a Saturday morning when he came around for some food. I called my current vet that I use for my dog and they couldn't fit me in until 5 pm, (it's 8 am and I didn't want to leave this kitty in a crate crying and under so much stress for 8 hours), so I looked up local vets on Google and Curlew Animal Hospital was open. I called explained my situation and they were able to squeeze him in for an exam. While Pretty Boy was being taken care of by his staff after Dr. Smith checked him over, he explained all of his findings in detail and what his staff were doing to my new kitty (flea bath, ear medication, rabies shot, nail trim, etc.). I am so grateful to the doctor and his staff for the wonderful care they gave to my new kitty. They are now my only veterinary care providers!

WOW. Just Wow! But that's not enough. I felt like I was leaving the office with a different dog- a healthier, spunkier dog. And reasonably priced! Same day visit, exam, meds, etc for about $250!
I'm dog-sitting and there is no greater fear when doing this than when the dog seems off. I just felt there was something wrong with Peaches and the owner's vet was out of the office. I called 2 other vets and they couldn't take her today. I called Curlew Animal Hospital and they said they had a full schedule, but then said they could squeeze her in at 2:45. What a relief.
Turns out she had a fever, her tooth is decaying and possibly causing serious problems. The staff was amazing and caring and took time with me to explain things and called the owners who happened to be flying home tonight. Dr. Smith spent time with them on the phone and withe me in the examination room explaining in detail what was happening and treatment options.
Ashley and Ola talked me through things and made it a pleasant visit. I'm so sorry I didn't get the other Tech's name-she was great, too.
I have to say, I LOVE my vet. But if I get a new dog, I'm seriously considering going here. Great facility and staff and doctor!

We moved from NYC with a very allergic pit bull to the Tampa area and after many different Vet’s who were unable to fix his problems , we were referred to Dr. Smith by a neighbor . Honestly, we didn’t think he would really be able to resolve my babies issues but we thought it was worth a shot so, we made an appointment. We were so glad we did, his staff is amazing , these girls are so kind and caring and it wasn’t just a show. Our dog had frequent miles with our old Vet in NYC , I mean it wasn’t from the lack of effort we really tried to get his allergies under control but, without success until we came here under Dr. John Smith’s care! We are so happy that our dogs allergies are under control and we owe it all to Curlew Animal Hospital! Brodi is one happy dog now, Thank you Dr. Smith!!

I thought she had ONE SEVERE puncture. so the girls went n got doc out of his house n he came down in short
s n a tanktop{not his usual attire} n said 'this is how u get me today"!!what he did next was exceptional...he found ANOTHER BIG HOLE!!! from the attacking dogs tooth. I was oblivious to the other tooth hole. THAT IS WHY HE IS SO GOOD!! he knew what to look for. We believe without a shadow of a doubt that he saved Daisys life whom me n my wife Brenda love so much.we will ALWAYS go there for advice and all the other thing a loved pet needs. his expertise n caring for your animal goes above n beyond what a family doctor would do for YOU! he is truly the best Vet u will ever need . It’s not just important for him to make the 4 legged member of your family well again, he makes it his practice to explain what’s going on with your fur baby, and it’s important to him to educate his clients on situations that we’ve not had to deal with prior. Over the last 20 years, Dr. Smith and his family at Curlew Animal Hospital have cared for both my Golden girls and me when I needed comfort. He has been to my house twice when 2 of my Goldens had to go to Heaven. He and his staff have been there for us from the 8 week old puppy check, to the emergency visits and to the saying good-bye . My 2 Goldens now are 9 1/2 and 2 and if any need arises they are there. And with us , the need seems to arise a lot!! A special thank you to ,Mary, for helping me with the task of insurance paperwork💜💜 when you have Dr. Smith as your Vet, you are part of a family.

She lived 12 1/2 years and brought us MUCH love and joy. I have been taking my dog here for several years and every visit is very pleasant and informative. The staff is very well educated, helpful, and nice. We have taken our cats there for years and now that we've moved 40 minutes away to Tampa, we still drive back to Palm Harbor for Dr. Smith and his staff. You won't find anyone that will care for your animals and help you budget more. When our kitty Tyson was staying there for observation and unfortunately had to be put down, Dr. Smith opened up for us on a Sunday night so we could end his suffering instead of prolonging it. You can definitely feel comfortable bringing your animals here. They are in good hands!

I have been going to this place for over about three years. I'm a 7 year old rescue from the SPCA in Largo. My new parents soon realized that I had an itch problem among other things, but wanted me with all my problems, because I'm so cute and smart. The staff at this place have been fantastic to me. Thanks to Dr Smith and all of the staff at this special Veterinary clinic. We feel so fortunate to have been led to this amazing group of people about 5 years ago. Not to be dramatic, but I said a prayer at that time for guidance in finding the right place for our cat that was ill. We have become regulars over the years. We have had to say goodbye to our two cats after many years of being blessed by their presence in our lives. We are confident that they received the highest quality of care when they were ill. The entire staff here are warm and wonderful people who go way beyond what you might expect at the veterinary clinic. I won't mention names in case I forget anyone. Dr Smith is one of a kind . We always felt informed, certainly never hurried and we were supported in making tough decisions. We look forward to introducing our newest pet to this group of caring professionals. I have been going here for 8 years and as long as I have fur-babies, I will remain with Curlew Animal Hospital! They are THE BEST!!!!! We moved from NYC with a very allergic pit bull to the Tampa area and after many different Vet’s who were unable to fix his problems , we were referred to Dr. Smith by a neighbor . Honestly, we didn’t think he would really be able to resolve my babies issues but we thought it was worth a shot so, we made an appointment. We were so glad we did, his staff is amazing , these girls are so kind and caring and it wasn’t just a show. Our dog had frequent miles with our old Vet in NYC , I mean it wasn’t from the lack of effort we really tried to get his allergies under control but, without success until we came here under Dr. John Smith’s care! We are so happy that our dogs allergies are under control and we owe it all to Curlew Animal Hospital! Brodi is one happy dog now, Thank you Dr. Smith!!

I thought she had ONE SEVERE puncture. so the girls went n got doc out of his house n he came down in short
s n a tanktop{not his usual attire} n said 'this is how u get me today"!!what he did next was exceptional...he found ANOTHER BIG HOLE!!! from the attacking dogs tooth. I was oblivious to the other tooth hole. THAT IS WHY HE IS SO GOOD!! he knew what to look for. We believe without a shadow of a doubt that he saved Daisys life whom me n my wife Brenda love so much.we will ALWAYS go there for advice and all the other thing a loved pet needs. his expertise n caring for your animal goes above n beyond what a family doctor would do for YOU! he is truly the best Vet u will ever need . Over the last 20 years, Dr. Smith and his family at Curlew Animal Hospital have cared for both my Golden girls and me when I needed comfort. He has been to my house twice when 2 of my Goldens had to go to Heaven. He and his staff have been there for us from the 8 week old puppy check, to the emergency visits and to the saying good-bye . My 2 Goldens now are 9 1/2 and 2 and if any need arises they are there. And with us , the need seems to arise a lot!! We have taken our cats there for years and now that we've moved 40 minutes away to Tampa, we still drive back to Palm Harbor for Dr. Smith and his staff. You won't find anyone that will care for your animals and help you budget more. When our kitty Tyson was staying there for observation and unfortunately had to be put down, Dr. Smith opened up for us on a Sunday night so we could end his suffering instead of prolonging it. You can definitely feel comfortable bringing your animals here. They are in good hands!

I have been going to this place for over about three years. I'm a 7 year old rescue from the SPCA in Largo. Thanks to Dr Smith and all of the staff at this special Veterinary clinic. We feel so fortunate to have been led to this amazing group of people about 5 years ago. Not to be dramatic, but I said a prayer at that time for guidance in finding the right place for our cat that was ill. We have become regulars over the years. We have had to say goodbye to our two cats after many years of being blessed by their presence in our lives. We are confident that they received the highest quality of care when they were ill. The entire staff here are warm and wonderful people who go way beyond what you might expect at the veterinary clinic. I won't mention names in case I forget anyone. Dr Smith is one of a kind . We always felt informed, certainly never hurried and we were supported in making tough decisions. We look forward to introducing our newest pet to this group of caring professionals.
