We took our two 13 year old Basenji boys, Davie and Sun to see Dr Stupar for the 1st time yesterday. Dr Stupar had Davie eating right out of his hand. Sunshine is usually aggressive towards vets and showed no signs of aggression at all. The staff was very caring as well. I do believe we have found our new vet for our beautiful babies. Very knowledgeable and kind veterinarian and staff here.  I had a kitten that had an accident and for just 17 measly dollars, he brought my little kitten back to life. I stood there in my neon pink pajamas and hair still straight up in the air from waking up, not intending to go anywhere but as soon as I saw the kitten needed emergency care (blood was coming out of his nose)  I just jumped in the car and drove straight to this vet without a second thought.This veterinarian is definitely a five star veterinarian! The only reason I'm giving four stars is because their ordinary services are Quite expensive. That's unfortunate. But do I recommend him? Absolutely! I came here for my first time and I was very satisfied. Staff is super nice and the doctor is awesome as well. I needed an international health certificate to travel with my dog to France and the staff took every step carefully to make sure I had everything complete. All of them were personable, professional and very compassionate to my animals. Just want to give our deepest thanks to Dr. Stupar and his staff! Yesterday, my aunt had to make the heartbreaking decision to have her terminally ill, 19 year old cat euthanized. Everyone was so calm,  kind and compassionate. The doctor, especially, was extremely comforting and loving to dear old Percy, and to us! My wife and I have been taking our dogs to Dr. Stupar for years.When we moved to Tampa two years ago, we decided that we would take the drive from Tampa to Palm Harbor for this doctor because that's how happy we are with his level of compassion and commitment to his practice. The atmosphere is friendly, and this is a true small business, where you get to know the staff as well as the doctor himself. I cannot say enough good things about everyone at Ridgemoor Animal Hospital!  It starts with the compassionate, expert care from Dr. Stupar.  The entire staff shares Dr. Stupar's same cheerful attitude and love for animals.  I'm always impressed that everyone in the office knows their patient pets by name and how much they love each of their patients.Dr. Stupar is the most caring veterinarian I've ever known, and I hear the same thing from everyone I meet who has pets in his care.  I've moved away from Palm Harbor now but I still take the extra time to bring all my dogs back to Dr. Stupar for regular care and whenever any issues arise.  I'm not the only one either.  I met someone who is so loyal she travels 45 minutes from south St. Petersburg because of Dr. Stupar's dedication when their dog was attacked by a Rottweiler and had severe neck injuries.  Or another owner related a story of seeing different vets and trying everything in an attempt to address his dog's issues.  He finally decided he needed to have the dog put to sleep.  Dr. Stupar was about to carry out the owner's wishes, but just before euthanizing the dog Dr. Stupar decided to run a test again that had already been checked several times before.  Miraculously, the test results were different than all the previous results, and instead of euthanizing the dog Dr. Stupar treated him.  The owner told me this story years after it occurred, the dog was living a healthy life and the owner would never take his pets to anyone but Dr. Stupar.Whether you come for an emergency or routine care you'll quickly understand why people are so loyal to him.  When an emergency arises Dr. Stupar will go way beyond what you expect from a vet.  He will continue working with his patients for as long as it takes to handle the problem, no matter what the time is.  He will sleep in the office to be close to pets that may need extra care.  For routine care he remembers all his patients and their history, treats them with the same love he would for his own pets and patiently explains everything he finds.Dr. Stupar helped our family through the toughest experience a loving pet owner can experience, the impending death of a pet.  Our dog was 15 years old and suddenly got extremely sick.  It was quickly apparent that our dog was suffering and wouldn't get better at his age.  Dr. Stupar's loving and understanding care helped our family through the painful situation.  You could hear and see in Dr. Stupar's eyes how much the animal's suffering pained Dr. Stupar.  He gently guided us through our options and what they would mean for our dog while understanding how difficult the choices were for our family.  I am forever grateful for all the extra time he spent with us, both in the office and on the phone in the evenings, to help us.  I was there with our dog when he was euthanized.  Dr. Stupar, the assistant and I all cried.  How many vets have such love for their patients?
