I absolutely would recommend this place to anyone.  I started going there when my previous dog got sick and they made a same day appointment. I took my dog there after that every time, even for her final appointment. I have since moved further away, but I still schedule all my new dogs appointments here. They are very caring and I have never felt like they are trying to push extra stuff on me. Read Less

My service/therapy dog Boomer has been a patient at PHVC for years and we wouldn't have it any other way. The entire staff from reception, Vet techs, to the doctors go out of their way to make visits pleasurable. I believe that waiting an hour to see the vet when you have an appointment is way too long. I think this vet is overpriced also and am looking for a new one. P.s. I brought my little guy in for diarrhea so the mess you had to clean up after waiting an hour is on you not him. Read Less

Our dog, Royce, got loose and we were so lucky that a good samaritan found him and took him to this vet near our house. They could have told the good samaritan to take him to the shelter but agreed to board him for the day. We went to get him and the staff couldn't have been nicer and more caring. They called the microchip company and unfortunately they had the old owner's info on file. I would not HESITATE to bring any of our animals here in the future. I absolutely love this vet! Every time we have been in they do a follow up call the next day to check in to see if everyone is doing Ok! They work wonderfully with the AA emergency vet as well. I am so glad to have found The Vet Clinic. The staff and Dr. were kind and caring to me and my furbaby. I was not a client but they took us in on a moments notice. Dr. explained everything to me and was so patient to make sure I was comfortable with what treatment was to be done. Dr. Hathaway will be our Dr. for as long as we will be needing any care. I had read in other reviews about the concern about costs. How can one put a value on a family member. About those costs, very reasonable and well worth it. Came in to get a lump checked out on our dog. The staff there was very helpful in getting us this information, our nurse Lindsay was awesome and Dr. Hathaway was extremely helpful in explaining what the concerns were with the mass.  We decided to go with a fine needle aspiration right then and it was sent to a cytology lab.  We were in and out in a hour and was very impressed by how inexpensive they were compared to others in the area. I have had multiple cats all my life. For the past 12 years I have been taking them to The Vet Clinic of Palm Harbor. This has been the best and friendliest veterinary office that I have ever been to. I feel very comfortable there and I feel that the Vets and the Tech care about my animals the same as I do. Their diagnostics and equipment are first class and they always follow up to make sure your pet is doing well the following day.  When that dreaded day came, the vets and staff comforted me and even shed tears with me. Their understanding of my feelings and compassion was outstanding. They made such a difficult task to do one of the most beautiful things. Reese had his first visit with Dr. Hathaway yesterday and she was great. She was warm, thoughtful, engaging and knowledgeable. Our vet tech was Danielle, who was very thorough, friendly, and caring to Reese and I. I definitely felt we received great care. I take my cats to see Dr Parks. She is very thorough and very knowledgable! Never any pressure or rushing us through. My son was visiting from out of state. I called and asked if he could bring in his dog along with my cats wellness visit. No problem! I hate to write a bad review but it is seriously disappointing seeing a vet clinic care more about making money than healing animals. My friend took her 95 pound dog here since it had an ear infection. Any vet or technician should know that the antibiotics prescribed was not going to take care of the issue since the dog was too big. After multiple trips here and the issue not being fixed, my friend took her dog to an aspca vet for low income households who finally solved the problem and could not believe they attempted giving this dog antibiotics to solve her ear infection. Greed or ignorance (or both) are not acceptable!! Read Less

As a Brooklynite/New Yorker I can't rave enough about this clinic and the staff!!! Dr Parks and Dr Frazee are as wonderful as my vet in Brooklyn!!! Shannon, Krystal, Stacy and all the front of house staff are awesome!  Lindsay, Gena, Jennifer, Vanessa and all the techs are just as sweet as can be! Oh and we can't leave out Barb!!Everyone has excellent bed side manner-super in-tune!  My three fur babies love the entire staff and I can't express how fab our experience has been.  Also the laser treatment has been a super experience for my senior bulldog. Overpriced horribly... My dog was severely ill and coughing to the point of exhaustion. I videotaped how sick she was. Dr Mann gave her a controlled pain med. The receptionist took my bottle of meds to put in a bag.Days later I noticed only 5. I went back in and told dr Mann one of the girls working must have got into them. She said. I doubt it.  MAKE SURE You COUNT PAIN MEDS..... If You Do n't Count Them and you find out your short and tell dr Mann .  she says I doubt it. . I've got sick dog that needed care .  My dog was sick feb12. Brought her in to AMBER PARKS. For one day of diareha and constipation.. estimate  pancreas liver kidneys blood work 300,90. I can tell you that I started going to Dr McGoldrick when he first started his practice with my brand new Chi Tucker. Tucker got very sick and I was sick with worry. I have never met a more compassionate and warm Doctor that you know REALLY CARES for your babies. Each and every person that works there care deeply for your furkids. Dr. McGoldrick called me and walked me through every step because I was very tight with money and it was looking like Dr McGoldrick might have to go in and see if there was some deeper issue that test were not showing. He allowed me to take Tucker home but, called me the next day eary to check on him and then had his staff follow up with me every couple of hours until the seriousness of Tucker's conditioned passed. I was thankful that he was willing to wait and access things before going right into surgery. I feel confident and comfortable that if at anytime he would have taken a turn for the worse he would have been right there no questions asked. I love his whole staff they are like family and I feel very comfortable putting my furkids in their hands. They also walk you through the cost of everything before they do anything so, there are no surprises at the end. If you are not using them you are missing out. When I arrived in Palm Harbor I took my cat to another clinic. Sadly what was probably poor advice there may have contributed to his diabetes getting worse. I switched to the Vet Clinic and although they tried to bring him back to health, he was too far gone and I lost him. Their compassion and understanding was exceptional. When I adopted a Special Needs Rescue dog, who had been badly beaten and abandoned, I took her to the Vet Clinic. She thrived. Sadly now, the diagnosis may be cancer and although my heart is broken at the thought, I know that the kindness and competence of this staff has and will continue to give her the best life and best care possible. When all is said and done, death is inevitable but the joy of each and every hour I have with this precious little dog is a blessing. In spite of being mostly blind and deaf, she passed obedience school with flying colors and now visits Senior Facilities and is an emotional support to all with the great love she brings. Read Less

Being new to the area, I called about renewing my dogs license. They were patient and happy to answer my questions. So I decided to take my dog in, I had no appointment and they worked us right in. Everyone was so nice and happy to help. I ended up seeing a male veterinarian- He was awesome! He took his time talking us and asking at about our dog... I have been going here for several years. I have two cats and this is where they get all of their kitty care from nail trims to shots and even in some cases surgery.  They are a little over priced but I am willing to pay for the great care they have given to my fur babies!! The only thing negative I have to say about this place is that the female veterinarian seems to always want to go the most expensive route when it comes to treatment. However the male veterinarian is amazing and is the reason I continue to go back. He takes his time he listens to you answers your questions and always tries to give you several options for treatment that vary in price so you can make the best decision for your pet and budget! We have brought 2 of our dogs on desperate occasions here and we will not be returning. They are overpriced and don't do thorough work. We brought our dog in with a bump on the back of her neck. The vet tech said he thought I could be a bite and to apply peroxide. Couple says later the bump was an open sore and our dog had additional bumps on her neck. The vet here diagnosed a condition we did not know my little grand-dog had, and she's always had regular vet care in Tallahassee.
